Hi Britsimon,
If the selectee does not have high school deploma , what is an equivelent requirements?
June 9, 2018 at 16:19
The standard that should be met is the educational level required to enter University. If that is not available, work experience at a certain level can be used, but is harder.

Hello Simon,
I’m DV2018 pre-selected, with number 2018EU00033XXX
Do you think I have any remote possibility of being called for the interview in the embassy?
Thank you
June 9, 2018 at 17:04
It seems very unlikely – but wait and see.

Dear Brit,
Is there any problem in the interview if the adress I have put in DS260 where I’m going to live (and where to send gc) is different from the sponsor’s (I-134) address? With different I mean different states.
Thank you.
June 9, 2018 at 23:02
No problem.
June 9, 2018 at 23:41
Thank you Brit. So there is no need to unlock DS260 and change the arrival (and GC delivery) address to make it the same with the I-134 sponsor’s address?
And an additional question, if I want to unlock DS 260, will it cause any delay to my 2NL and interview?
My cs is EU201900002XXX and I already submitted DS260.
Thanks.
June 10, 2018 at 01:06
Why are you asking about delay??? Have some patience!
June 12, 2018 at 00:26
Patience and wait, I’m dv 2018. I have filled my ds260 since JulY 2017, and my 2nl is coming on may 2018
June 9, 2018 at 22:12
Dear Mr
I have revised the whole application form from the beginning and each time I am going through the pages everything is going well with me ( except for the social security part ) , one page with the information regarding the social security number and I have answered accordingly, and when I press on next the second attachment comes out with the error. I have been spending hours on my application to go through and to get the confirmation letter but no chance.
Please I need your help in this matter and to see what is going on technically,
Your utmost help is highly appreciated.
Thank you for your kind cooperation
Aysar Al-Samamah

June 10, 2018 at 01:59
Hi Simon
Do we have to send our documents electronically immediately after submission of DS-260 form or how may we find deadline for submitting our documents ?Thanks
June 10, 2018 at 04:41
You take documents to the interview. Nothing is sent.
June 10, 2018 at 02:05

Hi

June 10, 2018 at 04:38
You must be qualified by the time of interview.
June 10, 2018 at 05:58
Hi
Like wat if I cn finish it by the tym of the interview bt I dont hve my certificate bt I hve my results….is it ok
June 10, 2018 at 14:35
That is a risk. Delay your interview as late as possible – by not submitting your DS260.
June 10, 2018 at 07:06
Dear Brit,
Is there any problem if my I-134 sponsor has done another sponsorship (I-134 or else) years ago? How many years ago should have been in order to be on the safe side?
Thank you.
June 10, 2018 at 14:31
There is no specific rule – use some common sense.
June 10, 2018 at 09:25
Hi Simon
When the main applicant’s DS260 is unlocked, will all remaining accompanying applicants’ DS260 forms be unlocked as well? Or the accompanying applicants should send separate emails to get their DS260 forms unlocked? Thanks
June 10, 2018 at 14:29
The principal sends the email but specified which form to unlock.
June 10, 2018 at 09:53
Hi Brit,
I was reviewing my fiancé DS-260 and I think we made a mistake on the vaccination part. We answered yes, because we will get vaccines before the interview on medical examination. Should we email KCC to unlock this part and get amended?
Thanks,
June 10, 2018 at 14:27
There is no need. It’s not important.
June 10, 2018 at 11:29
Hi.
Why have I still not received my interview letter? I am F2A category.
My PD is 6th june 2016.

I only answer dv lottery questions
June 10, 2018 at 15:22
Hi Simon
I am a derivative of a selectee and a University student. I am working as an Uber driver. I do not know if I have to mention it in DS260 form as my current occupation or I have to select “ student “ option. Thanks
June 10, 2018 at 16:35
Are you a student who earns a bit of money driving Uber, or an Uber driver who is taking some University courses? If you apply some simple thinking, you don’t need to ask me…
June 10, 2018 at 15:59
Good evening. I have two questions, the first is on the section THIS ADDRESS: my parents were in town, after my birth (months or two years to see 3) have moved to another city, they will not remember the year to what they left point A (the city) to the point (B). on the present address section what should I enter or can I enter any date that follows after my birth?
June 10, 2018 at 16:37
Please use your own judgement – really – you don’t have to ask me every small detail.
June 10, 2018 at 18:21
Dear Simon
I started doing my DS-260 on line and everything is going well with me, I have one problem that has been poping out each time I am trying to finish up my DS-260 and the message says as follows;
You have encountered an application error. Please try again later
This problem occurred when I get to the social security number : I have tried several times to ask the question social security, that I need a social security number, and I am answering also that I did not have any number before , and also I am giving the authority to the USCIS to check on me.
After so many attempts to finish up the application form, it seems there is a technical problem,
I hope you understand me to solve my problem .
Best wishes
June 10, 2018 at 18:41
I don’t have a solution, but try different browsers, restart your computer, clear cache/cookies – all the standard things.
June 10, 2018 at 18:57
Hello Mr Simon, please I have a worry. My spouse has a child of 10years with a lady before we got married. And after our DV entry we legally recognized the child and he is living with us now. He is not included in our case because he wasn’t there when we were doing the entry meaning if we are fortunate he can’t travel with us.
Question :
1)what is the possibility of bringing him after our “entry to USA ”
2) what is the procedure?
3) how do we indicate he is part of us though not traveling with us?
June 10, 2018 at 20:52
If you were married before the entry you were supposed to enter the child (your stepchild). The instructions on that are clear. You will be disqualified.
June 10, 2018 at 22:21

June 10, 2018 at 23:02
Hello Brit, good day to you there. Please I have two worries here. First, Which affidavit form is needed for dv lottery winners? Is it form I-134 or form I-864. And the second worry Brit, my sponsor is not actually a family member. She’s Just a close family friend. Is she eligible to sign an affidavit for me and how? Thanks as I wait for your reply sir.
June 11, 2018 at 02:11
Please read the FAQ.
June 10, 2018 at 23:33

You cannot open your DS260 now – so no need to worry about it.
June 11, 2018 at 07:25
hlo simon i am a dv winner 2018 who will have interview probably in august 2018. As my wife is pregnant my queries are
1. During medical examination x ray is mandatory but during pregnancy it is not recommended so what are the option?
2. Vaccination which are live attenuated such as MMR are contraindicated during pregnancy so do we need to take those vaccines? what are the option.
3. where can i get information about this queries?
June 11, 2018 at 16:47
1. Xrays for pregnant women are performed with a shield for the baby.
2. Doctors decide what is required, and safe for the baby.
3. I just answered. The point is, doctors take an oath to do no harm.
June 11, 2018 at 07:42
Hi. Brit.my wife as my host has no job and she has eight children. during my interview the co asked me if I can managed to take of them.my question is they put me on APS.does that mean visa denial.
June 11, 2018 at 16:48
No – not necessarily.
June 11, 2018 at 09:04
Hi Simon,
I have one of my dependents passport with 10 months validaty from my interview appointment
I will do my best to renew it before the interview, but i’m not sure if i can get the new one.
my question are:
1. what if i manage to renew it before interview time? do i need to update my DS260? or go directly to the embassy with new one without any update?
2. what if i didn’t renew the passport and proceed to the embassy with current passport (with 10 months validity), is that would be an issue? , what will be the case regarding the stamped visa validity in this case?
Thanks,
June 11, 2018 at 16:50
1. If you can update the DS260, that is better, otherwise just go to the interview with old and new passports.
2. 10 months is ok – but longer is better (more convenient for you).
June 11, 2018 at 16:57
Thank you..
Is this will affect the visa validition?
June 11, 2018 at 11:58
Hey Brit,
I wrote you a few days ago and I was desperate about our visa. They put us on AP and GAVE BACK OUR PASSPORTS and said to send them additional photos from our relationship, which we did 2 days after that.
Now this morning we got an email from the embassy saying ”bring us your passports please tomorrow at 10:30am”.
Does it mean that the visas are approved or?
June 11, 2018 at 16:53
You celebrate once the visas are in your hand.
June 11, 2018 at 12:28
Hello DV lottery community. I am Kemal from Ashgabat, 30. Case number. EU201900018xxx. I don’t have any questions and won’t probably ask one because everything is so clear from start to finish if you follow the blogger’s advise to READ THE FAQ first.
BIG thank you to Britsimon for the hard work he does by replying to literally everyone.
My advise to all 2019 selectees: PLEASE READ EVERYTHING ON HERE https://britsimonsays.com/dv-faq/ before thinking about asking a question. Don’t ask for the sake of asking. All the best. Good luck to you all, see you in America !
June 11, 2018 at 12:39
2019EU00018xxx rather, but not important. And I expect my interview to take anytime from february 2019 to July 2019 based on information and data provided here for last few years and I am happy with that. Thanks again.
June 11, 2018 at 16:53
Thanks!
June 11, 2018 at 12:35
Hi
How long are the medical exam results valid for?
Thanks
June 11, 2018 at 16:54
6 months. BUT the visa expiry date is based on the medical date PLUS 6 months. So don’t have the medical too early.
June 11, 2018 at 13:13
On my birth certificate, the field for parents’ date of birth is blank, they say the data isnt legible. Could this be a problem?
June 11, 2018 at 16:54
No
June 11, 2018 at 14:02
Hi Brit. If my husband has a daughter from a previous marriage and she does not live with us, do I have to list her on my DS260 as my child? She would be my step-daughter but not living with me… she lives with his ex wife.
Also, if I have worked for 10 years in one occupation 2008-2018 (in business – Procurement Manager), but had another occupation for 6 years prior to this one (2001-2007 as a Computer Graphic Artist), do I have to list this prior occupation? When I choose YES to fill out prior occupations/employment, it says to only list info for the last 10 years. I am a derivative applicant, my husband is primary.
Thanks in advance.
June 11, 2018 at 17:16
1. Yes. And I assume/hope she was on your husbands entry.
2. The instructions you quoted contain your answer
June 11, 2018 at 14:47
Hello Brit,
I was wondering if you knew anyone who revoked their green card? And how easy was it to do?
Thanks!
June 11, 2018 at 17:18
Nope.
June 11, 2018 at 16:59
Hi Brit.
My interview was on Friday. June 8th. It went very well and the CO said my visa is approved. I checked my visa status today and it says administrative processing. Is that mean I’m in bad situation concerning my visa ?
Kindly
June 11, 2018 at 17:15
I am curious, if the CO said your visa is approved why you thik that you are in bad situation?
June 11, 2018 at 17:21
I’m also curious are Britsimon please ? Because my question was for britsimon not MS
Kindly
Douniya
June 11, 2018 at 17:23
Did you check the FAQ? You should.
June 11, 2018 at 17:06
Can i do the medical if my number is not current yet?
June 11, 2018 at 17:24

June 11, 2018 at 21:07

Thank you
June 11, 2018 at 21:30
The 2NL will not change.
June 12, 2018 at 00:19
change the place of the interview from Saudi Arabia (Riyadh) to Sudan (Khartoum)
How do I know the date of the interview?
You will be in the same old date
CN 2018as8″””
June 12, 2018 at 00:45
That is not correct.
June 12, 2018 at 13:12
Idont understand
June 12, 2018 at 14:50
The new embassy will set a new date, and it won’t be on the 2NL.
June 11, 2018 at 22:36
Hi Brit i have searched for a qualified job on the government website and have choosen a graphic design because that is my main occupation now. in the 260 form, looking for an occupation I only found Artist/performer and thinking related to graphic designer.Am I Right?
Thanks
June 11, 2018 at 22:44
In the4 DS260 you detail your current job. A graphic designer is not an Artist/performer
June 12, 2018 at 00:17
Thanks. so what is the correct occupation for graphic designer?
June 12, 2018 at 00:43
graphic designer
June 12, 2018 at 00:14
I heard at the interview they will give a choice to return your green card if you don’t wish to immigrate right away. And in return there is a special form or way to get your green card when you are ready to immigrate. Would this be good option or apply for a permit of 2 years instead?
June 12, 2018 at 00:20
What you have heard doesn’t exist.
The only option is a re-entry permit (which meeds to be requested from inside the USA).
June 12, 2018 at 04:41
Hi Simon, my address in USA has changed. My question, I need to supply address for medical check up and police clearance. Shall I give them the one I recorded in DS260 or the updated one?
When and how and I should inform KCC about the address? My interview is on July 12th.
Thanks
June 12, 2018 at 04:59
You will have to inform the CO at the interview. The DS260 cannot be edited now.
June 12, 2018 at 06:47
Hi Simon
Do we have to provide any financial/bank statements prior to or on the interview day ( to show we have deposits in our accounts)? If yes, is there any minimum deposit requirement?
Thanks
June 12, 2018 at 14:28

June 12, 2018 at 08:15
Hi
I am living in Australia ( OC category). On VB published in June 2018, the number 1,100 is written while my case number is 0781. I don’t understand the relationship between these two numbers; can you explain it for me? Thanks
Shards
June 12, 2018 at 14:30
You are eligible for interview once the published number is higher than your number. However, you haven’t said which year DV you are in – 2018 or 2019
June 12, 2018 at 15:42
Mercy
This is for 2019. My case number starts with 2019.
June 12, 2018 at 19:26
OK – so you quote your number as 2019OC7XX.
The number in the VB is to do with DV2018 – it means nothing to your case. You have to wait for quite some time – so plenty of time to read the FAQs etc here.
June 12, 2018 at 09:21
Dear Brit,
In the i-134, do you know what address should be entered at the “Beneficiary’s Physical Address”?

Hello Brits,
I have Three Questions
1. While Reading about Public Charge You mentioned some Countries in africa use Host System, Would you Please Mention which countries ? I am From Ethiopia.
2. My Sponsor is not Direct Relative ( Sister for My Sister’s Friend ).
3. While Filling DS 260 Is it Possible to Hide the Last 3 Digits ? (2019EU20XXX) i Mean Will the form accept it and how are they going to Identify it ?
Thank You Very Much.
June 12, 2018 at 14:49

Hi Mr simon,
I’m DV2, is it ok if i enter to USA without my family because i need to arrange housing and work or it will cause a problem?..the airport will be Tacoma, seattle
June 12, 2018 at 21:50
The DV1 must enter with you, or before you.
