People have started receiving their 2NLs for June 2017 interviews. It will take a few hours – and possibly even a couple of days before all have gone out.
The email itself has no useful information. It simply tells you to check the ESC site for the interview details. Some people that receive the email will find the ESC site is not ready, those people should try again after a few hours. Also, some people find the email itself goes to a trash or spam folder or somehow miss it. So – if you think you may have been scheduled but missed your email, you can check the ESC site, just in case. The 1NL (you have been selected letter) is replaced by a new letter which gives the appointment details.
For those that received their interview notice, now is the time to start preparing for the interview. Gathering documents, scheduling the medical and so on. To learn how to prepare please view my guide on preparing for the interview.
If you have received your 2NL – please take a moment to reply to this post and add your region/case number range PLUS the date of submission and whether you unlocked at any point. This helps me gauge the backlog and DS260 processing times. Whilst cases are mostly current, the date of DS260 submission will mean that some cases will not be scheduled for May interviews, and will wait until a later month.

Hi Brit
What does it mean DOS case ID
June 2, 2017 at 19:36
DOS = Dept of State.
Case ID = your case number with DOS.
Because you haven’t mentioned any context – I can’t answer more than that!
June 1, 2017 at 20:46
Dear britsimon,
My case number is 2017 AF 33*** and I’m from egypt, I’m asking about if i will be interviewed or not from your experience?

Hi Brit — Quick question. We’ve received our immigrant visa, entered the United States, have been waiting on the green card so all good. The q is, are members of the family allowed to travel separately (internationally) with the immigrant visa in their passport?
May 21, 2017 at 17:51
Yes
May 21, 2017 at 06:37
Hello Brit, please can I apply for the Dv lottery with a course training of 18 months?
May 21, 2017 at 17:56
A course cannot qualify you. It’s is about formal, general education.

Hello Mr Brit
Sorry for bothering you every step of the way. you are doing a great favor. i am from Ethiopia my question is , my passport has only 4 months left to expire and my interview is on early June, so when i go to renew my passport , they cancelled the old one and told me they will give me a new one with new passport number, and that it is possible to state the old passport number on the new one as an information. so do you think this might cause any problem on the interview having the old passport number on the DS260 and online interview appointment. best regards;
May 4, 2017 at 19:38
No problem.
May 4, 2017 at 19:46

May 2, 2017 at 19:01
Hello Brit, I still do not send the affidavit and I have an interview date in 2 weeks, do I have time to present it on the day of the interview?
My sponsor should send me only by mail and nothing else to present at the interview?
May 2, 2017 at 19:45
Day of interview is normally fine.
The I-134 needs supporting documents – 1040/W2/Payslips & photo ID
