Hi Mr BRIT,
Please I would like to know if I have a original laminating document like high school certificate, is this can create problems in the interview.
Thank you so much.
July 16, 2019 at 14:18
The reaction to that varies by embassy…
July 16, 2019 at 16:17
The police in my country only send a certificate to the local embassy, they don’t give you a copy of it. What should I do then when I need to send it to KCC?
July 16, 2019 at 17:22
Show proof of the steps you have taken to obtain the document with a note to explain the procedure in that country.
July 16, 2019 at 16:26
dear mr.Simon,
i have maybe a stupid question and i do not want annoying you but in faq and i other comments i did not find the answear so i am traying to ask…
i have submittet two weeks ago the ds260 for 2020.
so my IV COMPLETED.
if i put my mouse up the word completed they said the form will be review when i will submitted the documents.
this is clear..
but the question which is flying in my mind is:
How long is the waiting for the kcc email where they said i have to submitted the documents?
the waiting it is about months ? or the process it is in weeks and i have some problems???
July 16, 2019 at 17:23
The waiting time depends on your case number (with year and region). What is that?
July 16, 2019 at 18:25
Hi again Brit,
My sponsor has an income of $20000-30000 annually.
1)Is that income stated above enough to sponsor me???
2)What’s the minimum annual income to sponsor sb??
3)My CN is AS65**,what’s the waiting time as I already submitted ds 10 July???
Thanks in advance

3. Months from now.
July 16, 2019 at 19:13
Mr brit,
A friend of mine just explained me her issue, her husband won DV(as single but they married after winning) and her husband is blind but he has High school diploma. They filled the forms and they have been schedule interview on August 21, 2019. She realized her uncle which filled the forms created two ds 260 for her just because the first one instead to write HADIATOU HE PUTTED HADIATU, so he completed HADIATOU and the other one is not filled.
There also he was supposed to fill the HADIATU.
1-If she explain to CO she was supposed to fill out the HADIATU’s one not the second and also creating the ds was error by the one who filled.
2-Do you think this will disqualified them because of creating ds twice.
July 16, 2019 at 20:29
1. It doesn’t matter who created the error. She is responsible for her own case.
2. Probably not.
July 16, 2019 at 20:42
Hi Brit
I am Augustin Case 2019AF42xxx, since May 3, May 28, June 14, June 28, July 1, July 2 that I sent my documents to the department concerned following requests for documents required by KCC on the dates respectively mentioned. For more than two months or 10 weeks I have had no satisfactory answer from KCC (OK or the letter indicating that the DS260 and the required documents are valid and complete) until then I write to you.
Since May 3 until today when I write to you I make more than 4 written notifications and at least 2 calls per week but still no satisfactory answer.
Please deal facing this situation then what to do to have my OK and hope for my interview letter for the next month?
July 17, 2019 at 04:14
I think part of the problem here is your lack of clarity.
Have you CALLED KCC to ask if they are satisfied? If so, when, and what, exactly, did they say?
July 17, 2019 at 12:41
Hi Brit,
Sorry you did not answer immediately.
Yes I called KCC last July 3 or the lady told me that my documents are in process so she can not give me a favor because it takes two weeks but to remind him on July 16.
I notify her that everything that I have provided is correct and that there is no problem with my file as well as when my cousin called from the USA on June 25th it was same answer that she gave it to him and told him to call him back on July 1st, execution, but the final answer is to remind him on July 16th what is done but not answered and even I wrote them more than 4 times in the day yesterday only the automatic response comes to me.
Yet my first submission of documents was May 3, relaunched May 28. Their first request for documents is June 14;
Yet friends with more space than mine, in the same group of social networks and all knowing about our worries already have a satisfaction, even already past their interview and others already scheduled for the interview.
-What should you do then?
July 17, 2019 at 17:30
OK – so they told you to wait. Do that.

Hi Brit,
I’m selected for DV2020 from Asia. Here are my questions.
1) I’m married last month and now I’m living in my wife’s home. But I’m still using my home address as the permanent address for all the documents. Do I need to change my permanent address to my wife’s home address before submit the DV260?
2) Before the marriage, I was lived in the hostels and boarding places for my studies and jobs since I’m 10 years old. Normally I was going home for weekends and vacations. When I filling the DS260, I can add all my hostels and boarding places with the exact duration. Is that OK if I add my home address into the bottom of the list with the duration as my born date to current month(July 1989 – July 2019 ).
July 17, 2019 at 04:21
1. That would be normal wouldn’t it.
2. Use the home address only.
July 17, 2019 at 04:36
Hi Brit, This is regarding second answer, If I mentioned only the home address in DS260 and During the interview if they ask that did you travel to the school and work place from home town all the time, is it OK to mention that I was stayed at hostels?
July 17, 2019 at 05:20
I assume you maintained your home address (family etc). Hence my answer.
July 17, 2019 at 03:28
Hi, I am DV2020 winner. I follow your blog and managed to got some insights of DV Process. But got one confusion in my case. My wife stayed abroad for total of 6 years for her higher education. So, below are my few queries:
1. Do I require to get a Police clearance from the country she stayed in or only primary applicant should submit !
2. My CN is DV2020AS6XXX. I was planning to complete DS260 on this October only or Is it right time to complete DS260 ?
3. Is affidavit of support mandatory? or $20,000 cash in my bank account will work. This is because one of the YouTuber moved without sponsor as she explains in her vlog. Please advise on this.
4. When we are suppose to submit affidavit of support, I guess in DS260 we just need to provide address where we intend to live or GC get delivered. Is this need to be submitted at the time of interview ??
Apologies for some silly queries and confusions.
Appreciate your deep analysis on this and effort of collecting and providing information in single pane.
July 17, 2019 at 04:23
1. I’m busy. Don’t waste my time. https://britsimonsays.com/ask-questions/comment-page-351/#comment-191556
2. Whenever you want.
3. Read the FAQ about the I-134.
4. Correct.
July 17, 2019 at 10:18
Hi
my friend had mistoke her 2 years date of birth in Time of register for lottery and after win lottery can she correct her date of birth according to their passport in ds 260 .
July 17, 2019 at 12:03
Hi Simon, not aimed at this specific query and person – but it prompted me to ask, are people getting away with multiple entries by making “errors” in DOB and Name Spellings, deliberately making them on different entries and then correcting them if they are successfully selected on one of those multiple entries which (as a result of the deliberate errors were not detected)?
That would not be fair and is gross misconduct – there should be a LIFE BAN.
I’ve just realised people may be abusing the 1 entry system in place by manipulating mistakes to increase their chances without being caught and then correcting them AFTER selection on one of them and at the appropriate time
I hope the KCC have systems in place that ANY CORRECTIONS ARE THOROUGHLY LOOKED AT AGAINST OTHER “SIMILAR” OR “CORRECTED” ENTRIES
July 17, 2019 at 17:22
Yes that is possible, yes they have ways to detect it and yes they ban some people for life.
July 17, 2019 at 17:34
Simon tell me answer
if same one did mistake date of birth in first ragister is it possible to correct this date of birth to ds 260
July 17, 2019 at 11:47
Hi mr britsimon
I am dv 2020 winner
I hve an issue about my dv entry name and passport name
In the middle name there is typing error in my passport it says Muhamed but my dv and all other documents is written Muhumed.
I am expecting my cn to be current around december..
Is it problem if continue with this different typings the A letter instead of U of my father name
Thanks
July 17, 2019 at 17:20
The DS260 should be accurate with the correct legal name. Your passport should be corrected if it is inaccurate.
July 17, 2019 at 12:07
Hi Brit I am a DV2019 winner for June for OC. Do you know when they are releasing the last interviews until for DV2019? Have I lost out on a chance of winning the lottery? They have all my documents and D.S. 260, I have a confirmation email from them.
July 17, 2019 at 17:23
2NLs for the final interviews will be sent in the next couple of weeks.
July 17, 2019 at 12:40
Hi there Mr Brit. The police certificates (Original version + english translation) I sent to KCC in April are expiring and my interview is in August. I already applied for a new original version of the police certificate but I wonder if I have to translate it again for the interview, since nothing was added to the certificate since then. Thanks
July 17, 2019 at 17:28
If you are presenting a new document and you need translations, make sure you have them.
July 17, 2019 at 13:04
Hi Brit
My husband is the principal applicant and we’re schedule for next Week. 2019Af31xxx.
2.5 years ago, he was on OPT and worked for a company in the US (With F1 status)). After 2 months , when his working permit expired, he applied with his SSN at Uber and worked for 7months as a driver . while filling the DS260’s, he mentioned every jobs he had.
My question is: will it cause a denial for our case?
July 23, 2019 at 15:31
Hello Brit,
I’m still waiting for your answer please.
July 23, 2019 at 21:15
I thought I had answered that.
Assuming you are doing consular processing that should not cause a problem.
July 17, 2019 at 13:07
I cant believe people CAN make errors or original entries with their own name and date of birth
Its THEIR info and they cant make a typo, as if they were THAT SERIOUS ABOUT YOUR ENTRY, they would fill the form correctly and ACCURATELY and carefully
You also have a chance to review the info before submitting – that is the point – REVIEW – you would be able to spot a typo and take appropriate action, especially if you KNOW YOUR OWN DATA
ITS YOUR DATA – you will spot mistakes usually very quickly
Why are they allowing corrections because those applicants can’t be serious applicants or mindful applicants or genuine
July 17, 2019 at 17:41
Humans make mistakes sometimes.
July 17, 2019 at 13:10
Hello Brit
I was filling the DS 260 form and there is a clause requesting documentation to establish received vaccinations.
My problem is, I don’t have records showing vaccinations received because my parents misplaced them. Though I have sign of vaccinations in my body.
1. So how can I answer this question? 2 Can it affect me negatively during my interview?
3. Can I get vaccines then I fill the form (DS 260). Kindly advise.
Thank you
July 17, 2019 at 17:42
1. Answer no.
2. No.
3. When you have the medical prior to interview.
July 17, 2019 at 13:40
Good evening Mr. Brit,
When do you expect DV2020 winners with low case numbers will receive the documents email from KCC?
I’m asking about low case numbers which will be interviewed after 2.5 months from now.
July 17, 2019 at 17:43
In the next month or two.
July 17, 2019 at 14:03
Hello, I am a 2019 DV lottery winner with an immigrant visa, I am the principal DV applicant, my family are the derivatives and we all have visas. Recently I have passed all levels of an online interview in the United States of America as a Software Engineer, besides the final one which demands my presence.
So my question is the following:
– Can I go to the USA without my family, participate in the interview, prepare my documents, find a house, come back to Armenia and take my family to the USA or
– Should my first entrance in the United States be with my family?
In both cases we will be in the USA at the required period of time.
July 17, 2019 at 17:45
Yes you can enter before the derivatives. ALL must enter before their visas expire.
July 17, 2019 at 19:22
Thank you so much!
July 17, 2019 at 14:32
Hello Brits, thanks for your hard work in helping us understand all about the dv process.
I’m 2019AF35xxx, is it a good idea to have a sister combine her finances with her son in the same house to sponsor her brother who is a dv selectee? The son is an adult, the brother is single. Thanks
July 17, 2019 at 17:47
No. That is not how tax will be reported. Use ONE sponsor who meets the income requirement.
July 17, 2019 at 23:37
Ok Sir, thanks for the clarity
July 17, 2019 at 16:09
Brit Mr,
In ds260 under the mailing address info I filled with my address in SriLanka not address in Australia(Where I live now) after being ticked off ‘Yes’ to IS YOUR MAILING ADDRESS DIFFERENT FROM PRESENT ADDRESS??
Is it okay???Thanks in advance
July 17, 2019 at 17:49
It’s ok if it is true.
July 17, 2019 at 17:13
Hi Brit
I will give birth on 19th of october 2019
So i can apply my Ds 260 and send to KCC without adding my new baby or i must wait till give birth???
July 17, 2019 at 18:03
What is your case number?
July 17, 2019 at 17:44
Simon give me this answer
if sameone did mistake date of birth in first ragister after win can he or she Change there date of birth in ds 260
July 17, 2019 at 18:02
Yes
July 17, 2019 at 18:53
Hi, in my previous comment you said it was hypothetical. So I have decided to go down more in details to perhaps get a better answer that can really support me, rather than basically telling me off.
From 2013 until 2015 I was shift supervisor or I will use superintended (which does go under the General and Ops Manager rated 7-8 in SVP range)
From 2015 to 2016 I was Assistant Manager, despite is not appearing on the promotion list from the business(same category online)
From 2016 to 2017 I was Store Manager (same category)
From September 2017 to May 2019 I was Commercial Manager which can be still the same category for job level
Now from 2019 I am AVP for Supply Management.
So I am asking:
1. Can I use the job experience when apply for the DV in next lottery for this year?
2. Can I use the category General and Ops Manager to cover the whole?
3. What you suggest me otherwise?
I just need to understand what i shall do and if I have a chance. thats all.
thank you
July 18, 2019 at 08:36
Didn’t you complete high school? Use that instead?
July 18, 2019 at 18:30
Hi, yes I can definitely use that, but I do have several years of working in positions that are okay on the website to check, and I was just checking if I move up because getting promoted in a same category can be used. What if I select job and education and then they select me and they are not happy of my job experience, is still education enough? or they will reject? i am afraid, but I am not the person that leave things to a chance and wait until the end, or get the name wrong while doing a form… I like to be prepared prior doing anything.
July 18, 2019 at 19:16
“is still education enough? ”
Answer is……..is enough !!!
Yes, so long it is 12 years High School (U.S. equivalent High School – than ‘is enough’) – and you have had to have passed that too – Simon has written whole page on that in FAQ – go there and read
Its all self explanatory
Sorry Simon, stealing your thunder – but I’m sure you’ll concur
July 18, 2019 at 19:27
Okay great. But I can still include a job sector in which I worked for 2 years in the last 5 years before applying right, if within a svp range 7 or above, together with education? And what would happen if during the checking documents, because I hope to be selected, they would say that job is not enough? Would create problems or to have the 12 years as backup is enough? I know I am a pain… but I just want to get opinions !
July 18, 2019 at 21:20
@Ketan,
No I do not concur. You are missing the point. A person could have attended school for 12 years and then fail certain subjects at the end. The 12 years is not the point – the point is to be at the same level as a US High School Graduate – meaning the person achieved the level required to enter college (university). That level is determined on a per country basis – but simple attendance for 12 years is NOT the level required.
You are correct to point out that I have a whole page about this… which can be accessed via the FAQ or the search feature or google.
July 18, 2019 at 21:43
Well I am originally Italian and we do have what is called, Diploma Italian Maturita’. I have studied in Graphic Design back then but with my certificate I can have access to Universities. So should not be any problem.
July 18, 2019 at 21:27
Hi Laura, why would you want to use the job experience if you already meet the education requirement? What’s your fear with the educational path?
July 19, 2019 at 07:29
Hi Simon
Just for the record and without any disrespect to you or anyone, I don’t think I missed the point and I don’t think I was wrong
Above…
– I did say “you have had to have PASSED that too!”
&
– it has to be equivalent to US High School
&
-I didn’t say simple attendance only (as above 2 points)
Exactly what I said and you repeated after…So I’m confused how you didn’t concur with what I said which is exactly what you said afterward
July 19, 2019 at 13:31
Because your wording gives emphasis to the length of time, not the actual required level (which varies by country and so on). It’s the interpretation of the requirement which is important.
July 19, 2019 at 07:39
Thanks for asking. So:
1. I did an Italian Diploma (passed and completed) on Graphic Design so maybe they want to see some other subjects such as Science, Psychology and smarter ones.
2. I thought that if you have education and work experience you can get more chances to be select
3. I feel that I do a very respectable work career that does require a certain skills and I work for a global bank so I feel that would increase my chances
Please do let me know your feeling about it.
July 19, 2019 at 13:34
THE DRAW IS RANDOM.
RANDOM.
R
A
N
D
O
M
Now – as I already said. Just enter the lottery and if you win you can think whether you qualify at that point.
July 18, 2019 at 09:35
Oh my. So all this is just so you can enter the lottery??? 25 million people enter each year – less than 100k get chosen. I can’t answer detailed questions from people who haven’t even won yet – just enter the lottery and **if** you win, then figure out whether you can meet the requirements or not.
July 19, 2019 at 10:11
Yeah, I guessed that’s what was in your mind, that’s why I asked.
No, there is no way of increasing your chances, even if you were Einstein. The selection is random. It doesn’t matter if you’re a Graphic Designer, a Doctor, or a Nobel Prize winner.
I don’t know what you mean when you say you have a degree in Graphic Design. I assume you studied Graphic Design AFTER finishing your high school, so you must have a high school diploma. You have to use your high school certificate to apply for the DV visa. If you meet the education requirements, go with that path, not work experience. Or at least that’s what I would do.
July 19, 2019 at 10:33
No, I did study and completed successfully Graphic Design and Communication in my High school and got the Italian Diploma Maturita’ passes and all at 12 years as per US school levels.
July 19, 2019 at 11:04
Well, apply with that. According to Google: “Diploma di Esame di Stato is the upper secondary school leaving certificate ( formerly known as Diploma di Maturità)”
So that’s your high school diploma. Yes, you may have had subjects such as Design, but I assume you also had Math, Literature and the regular ones.
July 19, 2019 at 16:11
well you don’t apply with that or your work as you don’t have to specify that at registration…..this lady is missing the point
you just apply having checked if you WILL qualify WHEN selected (it would be pointless to apply if you didn’t meet the criteria subsequently if selected – what’d be the point of that ?)
only IF…………..and this lady must know……..a BIG IF………..you are selected, have you to worry !
I wonder how she thinks as she ticks both boxes or several boxes she has “more of a chance” – this is wonderland thinking
As Simon said it is “R A N D O M” or as DV said – you could be Einstein it wouldn’t make a difference or cut extra mustard !
This lady is quite some work to be fair, I feel sorry for the interviewing CO if she won
July 19, 2019 at 20:04
“This lady is quite some work to be fair, I feel sorry for the interviewing CO if she won”
LOL!
July 17, 2019 at 19:31

Doesn’t sound good – but search Onetonline for the pharmacy aide position.

July 18, 2019 at 18:32

July 17, 2019 at 22:22
Hello Mr.Britsimon
I saw the answer of you for other people ask about when will be the ideal time to submit DS260, you said “anytime”.
My question is if I won’t submit DS260 until Jan. 2020, is that ok?
My case number is DV2020AS25xxx.
Best regards & thank you for your time.
July 18, 2019 at 00:52
Hi brit i hope you are doing well my friend.
Im still worried. Im dv202 and my CN af11… And i didnt recieve anything from them even the mail requesting my documents. Is it okay ? Should i wait or what ? Plz help me
July 18, 2019 at 09:45
Contact KCC and ask about your documents.
July 18, 2019 at 12:01
According to my case number. Is it the time to recieve a mail from them or is it late ? And what should i do to contact them?
July 18, 2019 at 14:50
For DV2020 it’s not too late.
July 18, 2019 at 09:40
No problem.
July 18, 2019 at 05:26
Hi Brit,in my D’s 260 ,I answered yes to the question asking if I have vaccination to prove vaccination. I only have yellow fever document.I’m I correct?
Secondly,I filled my ds260 3weeks ago but have not received any mail from kcc.how long to wait?
July 18, 2019 at 09:47
1. No – but it doesn’t matter.
2. That depends on your case number.
July 18, 2019 at 07:10
Hi Brit Symon,
First of all appreciate about your hard work. My question is do we need to include part time jobs when submitting DS260?
July 18, 2019 at 09:47
No
July 18, 2019 at 07:48
Hi britsimon.
I hve 3 questions
1.what are 1st and 2nd NL?
2.is it must to have job offer from company in usa?
3.is it necessary to mention or brought your bank account balance if it is less than $10k but having sponsor?.
Thanks
July 18, 2019 at 08:29
Let me do the honours Simon here, if you dont mind and give you a well deserved rest:
1.
1NL = first notification letter when you are advised of your selection
2NL = second notification letter when you are advised of your interview after you have satisfied KCC and done some things they have asked for satisfactorily
2. It is not necessary to have a job offer, you must obviously be able to support yourself and your family and meet the education requirements they need (a requirement) so that you can find gainful employment
3. Providing BOTH (Sponsor and whatever you have which is under £10k threshold) will certainly help in giving the CO a comprehensive and overall picture, what have you to lose
Have I done well here Simon?
July 18, 2019 at 09:51
@Jumbo – not bad.
July 18, 2019 at 09:49
I have one question. Why have you not read the FAQ?
July 18, 2019 at 09:41
Hi simon
Please i need your advice, as selected on 2020DV visa , i have started filling information in to application but i have not completed due to limited time and i am not in a hurry to submit it now , my question since yesterday i am facing problem i am not able to open my application and the message appear that the case information you entered does not match our records, even i am sure i have did the right number of my case no, the message said i have to try again or contact the KCC center.
Please do you have any idea about such problem and how i get sorted.
Thanks
July 18, 2019 at 10:56
Hello Brit
I have a concern on clause for social media in the DS 260 form. Do I need to choose all the platforms even the ones i have never used then indicate ‘None’ at the user names(identifier name). Or do I choose only the platforms that have used. Thank you
July 18, 2019 at 11:22
i get stressed out when i see questions like this and i wonder how Simon feels having to deal with this daily – god help him
this stuff is just plain common sense
just step back and think
what are they asking ?
it’s not hard !
there’s no trick questions !
just give them what they are asking
and
if you haven’t used any, say so!
it’s all straight forward

@Ketan – thanks for understanding.
July 18, 2019 at 11:37
I haven’t used the form yet
But like every other proper web form
I’m sure they wont let you continue until you have to select yes…with you supplying details or “none” at the user names (identifier name) if you haven’t used at all
So even if you just used those you have used only it may not progress the form unless you indicate none on the others
This is all straightforward stuff surely?
July 18, 2019 at 14:42
List the ones you have used.

Hello Brit!
Sorry for stupid question.
In my first application, name of the street where i live is Suyunbai
In DS-260 i wrote SuyunbaY, y insted of i.
Is it crucial? Do i have to unlock my ds 260 cuz of that?
July 18, 2019 at 14:45
No need to unlock.
July 18, 2019 at 13:24
My case no is 2020af11*** how long should I wait for kcc to contact me
July 18, 2019 at 14:51
Wait and see.
July 18, 2019 at 14:16
Brit sir my wife is dv winner she finished higher education {12class}and also finished 6 month beauty parlour training now she is a pre primary teacher is it ok for education and work experience for dv lottery
July 18, 2019 at 14:56
The work experience woiuld not qualify her. So she must qualify on Education. I don’t know the passes required in your country.
July 18, 2019 at 16:06
Hello Brit, I will strongly appreciate your answer as my embassy is unreachable!
1. My auntie lives in Chicago and can be my sponsor. however she is old, retired and doesn’t have a citizenship but green card. I doubt she can be my sponsor, am I right? Mostly because she is quite old and retired also I don’t know if someone on green card can be a sponsor?
2. I watched your last post about the last month for interviews for dv2019. I am waiting for my interview invitation. I got a confirmation that all documents were good in the middle of June, had quite high number (eu286xx) and am suppose to have interview in embassy in London. Is there any chance that I might not get an interview, can I help myself in any way? If the embassy in London would be full I could go to my home country. Please, I know it’s annoying to get those questions but I tried to call my embassy and they just leave an automatic message. And I don’t want to blow my chance, I’m trying to avoid problems as much as I can.
Also thank you for your time and this blog, if it wasn’t you who said that I’d never send my documents as I had high number and never even get an email from them asking me for that. You probably saved me and my chances. Have a good day, best regards
July 18, 2019 at 16:32
1. Her age is not important, but her income must be guaranteed and sufficient to support you – check my I-134 article.
2. There is no time to switch to any other embassy. As long as you are certain they are satisfied with your documents then you just wait. If you cannot contain yourself, you can call them – but please realize time they spend answering your call is less time to do their work of scheduling appointments.

Hello
Me and my wife had been interviewed in 7 April in us embassy kabul and my case is still in ap i asked from embassy. they said we are working to be sure that you are not have risk security. what you think I never do any mistake and I never travel abroad of Afghanistan and I never crime. what you think they will clear my case before september. All of thing is clear and clean from my self. Then why it taks time. And after interview I get so less update.
July 18, 2019 at 18:43
You know you are not a security risk – but they need time to investigate that. Hopefully they will have enough time before September 30. Just be aware that you might need to repeat your medical since the visa expiry cannot be more than 6 months after the medical.

Hi brit
My cn is AS24XXX i have one confusion
My name on passport and birth certificate is Muhammad adil tanveer but my name on secondary education certificate is Adil Tanveer . This can be problem in kcc or interview ? Or I should write adil tanveer on ds260 in other names column ? Im afraid that change name on secondary education certificate will take alot longer and maybe not possible . Please advice
July 18, 2019 at 21:21
Normally would not be a problem.
July 19, 2019 at 19:24
Thanks for reply Mr.simon
So should i fill Mohammad adil tanveer in ds260 name column , and use adil tanveer in other names column ?
July 19, 2019 at 20:40
That would be good, yes.
July 18, 2019 at 19:57

July 19, 2019 at 01:18
Hi simon,
I have a question that you may or may not be able to answer… but based on your experience, how easy is it to file an adjustment of status for dv visa winners? I have a fairly high number (SA34xx) and I already filled out my ds-260. (I did not see your advice about waiting to fill it out until yesterday) On my application I selected the change of status option since I am already in the US on a H1B work visa. I have been looking up change of status processing times and most of the local offices have processing times listed as 11-24 months which will be too long for me to get approved before September 2020 (especially if my case number is not available until August or September). My question to you is if you think this might be an issue, should I just contact KCC to change my ds-260 to do consular processing and go back to my home country for the interview? Have you, in your experience heard of anyone running into this issue before with their change of status not being completed before the September 30th deadline?
July 19, 2019 at 02:43
AOS for DV cases goes faster than other cases. There is also an early filing policy. But your number is quite high, so there will be a long wait until you can start. Read the link below, especially the spreadsheet on the first post in that thread.

Thank you! This AOS forum has very helpful information!

July 19, 2019 at 02:40
No affect at all.
July 19, 2019 at 03:56
Thank you sir
July 19, 2019 at 04:20
what is meant by “CURRENT”
July 19, 2019 at 04:44
Current for a region means all numbers can be interviewed. If a case is “current” it can have an interview.
July 19, 2019 at 04:57
Dear Simon,
Do we need to send work experience and education qualifications or whatever documents other than they asked 5 types (if have all)?
Thanks
July 19, 2019 at 05:03
You only send what they ask for, but you should take all documents to the interview.
July 19, 2019 at 15:42
Golden rules in immigration: Answer only the questions asked, and provide documents asked for. Now more, no less.

Hello again. You were such a help.
There is one thing that is bothering me.
I hear that people get request for docs.
My case number is 4xx – EU, and we have not yet got a request.
But we are really want to get on october invtreview, to leave as soon as we can.
Should we ask KCC when they will do it or should we just send it or we have to wait patiently and not to annoy them?
Thanks again for your job!
July 19, 2019 at 13:35
Exercise some patience.

hi brit,
good work done here
history before interview: we have been married since last year may 2018. we dated since mid year 2016. my 29yr old wife had a minor stroke just this year may 2019 which affected her left eye. her lips tilted slightly to the left and was hardly immobile. but before the interview on 9th July 2019 (more than a month after) she was satisfactorily fit as she performed everything on her own.
we did our medical exams almost a week the interview.
last time we went for the dv lottery visa interview. we were called to booth 11 where a black lady briefly interviewed us and took our documents she noticed my wife was not fully well and asked her to go sit down. then we were called to booth 5 where a white lady swore us and interviewed us again, she also asked my wife to go sit down. after the interviews they kept all our documents and rather gave us a form they had not ticked anything on though there are spaces to be ticked and they scheduled us for another interview two days after, 11th July 2019. we went for the interview on the said date and met 3 persons in a room. another black lady and man and a different white lady. i was alone with them this time and my wife was made to wait elsewhere. i was interviewed about almost an hour then i was excused and my wife was also interviewed.
she was told to inform me that i will hear from them and this time all our documents and pictures were given back except the 2 passports and the marriage certificate though i gave them copies of each. we were not given any form at all this time.
just recently i received a call that we have been scheduled for a follow-up interview in august 2019. no time given no documents were stated as required. i was only told i should inform the men at the gate i have been scheduled for an interview and they will let us in.
i have written to the embassy but have not received any feedback yet
could you possible suggest any reasons for such a frustrating situation
could you please advise on what i should do
July 19, 2019 at 13:39
I don’t know why that is happening.
Just follow their instructions.
July 19, 2019 at 09:04
Hi Simon,
Where in DS-260 should I put census-designated place (CDP): Setauket-East Setauket (Suffolk County, New York) in city field or in adress line 1,2 (Mailing and permanent adress page)?
Thanks
July 19, 2019 at 13:40
However you would normally write that.

Hello Britt
MY sister was selected in 2019, CN 2019AF145XX. Received at the Embassy of Kinshasa by the consular officer since February 2019 but it is in administrative process until then. His interview was simple and all the documents were clear. Can she hope for a positive outcome?
July 19, 2019 at 13:41
There is nothing wrong with hope.
