Dear Brit,
My case number is 2020AS28xxx and I am from Sri Lanka. Do they consider only the last 4 digits of the case number or all the other numbers excluding preceeding 0s?
I didn’t receive the email from KCC yet asking me to submit the documents. I contacted KCC twice and they asked me to send them an email asking what are those documents. Is it okay if I do that?
November 13, 2019 at 04:39
All the numbers. So – you have a long wait. Yes – you can send them an email.

Your DS260, including social media, should be accurate responses. If they are not – unlock and correct.

November 13, 2019 at 22:49
It does not matter whether it is 2019 or 2020. It’t the same.

good evening sir…
my sister went interview yesterday and visa application is refused under section 212(a)(5)(A).my question is? is there any option to re submit
November 13, 2019 at 18:50
Seems like she’s been refused for not having qualifying 2 work experience and doesn’t she have high school???
November 14, 2019 at 02:28
She doesn’t have high school.
And she have 2 years working experience.
November 14, 2019 at 02:45
I gave you information about that to check your (her) eligibility back in May. Why on earth did you proceed with the interview??
https://britsimonsays.com/ask-questions/comment-page-334/#comment-183808
Well that makes it clear. She doesn’t meet the requirements, so cannot appeal or resubmit.
November 13, 2019 at 23:19
Probably not. What was the reason for the refusal?
November 14, 2019 at 02:30
She doesn’t have high school
November 13, 2019 at 16:37
Hi Mr. Simon.
Im DV2019 winner.
Ill move to the US in few days and i want to change mailing address of green card na ssn docs, but i cannot change it from my USCIS cabinet.
How can i change it?
Thank you!
November 13, 2019 at 23:49
The address you provide on the DS260 is where the GC will be sent. You can change it at the POE – but not after that.
November 13, 2019 at 19:29
Hello sir, there is a question about social media to provide social media handler or user name. Sir, is it Name and surname that we use in the social media or its a link that provides username for social media.?
For eg. Everest.77/facebook.com
November 14, 2019 at 01:02
Hello Brit pls am having some dought about my education career BC when I enter the lottery i use my advance level,as my highest level of education and when feeling my ds 260 I feel but advance level, meanwhile I am currently in the university preparing for a degree program at the end of the academic year by August .
(1) if I unlock my ds and put some university courses instead of advance level will it cause me any problem at the interview
(2)if I change to some university courses what am I going to use on the day of my interview BC my certificate will not be ready by then
November 14, 2019 at 17:00
1. No, because its the truth.
2. That is EXPECTED. If you say you haven’t finished a University course, they don’t expect a finishing certificates.
November 14, 2019 at 02:43
Hello Simon,
I’m from Sri Lanka and I am a DV2020 winner. KCC asked to send me the documents. Do I need to certify my birth certificate from Sri Lankan foreign ministry before sending it?
November 14, 2019 at 17:01
It depends on reciprocity page instructions for Sri Lanka.
November 15, 2019 at 02:20
Hi Kaush,
I am also from Sri Lanka. May I know from where did you get the police cert? From the headquarters?
Thank you
November 15, 2019 at 10:25
Hi Kaush and emcpk88,
You can join the Sri Lankan winners’ forum for more info: https://forums.immigration.com/threads/dv-2020-sri-lankan-winners.341572/
November 14, 2019 at 03:01
Hello Brit,
I am doing AOS and I am in F1 visa.
I unlocked the DS260 to update my social media and work experience,.
1. Do we have to mention viber, Whatsapp, IM0 in DS260?
2. Does Youtube has username? and also confused regarding the user name of social media,is it Name and surname we use in Social media ?
3. Currently I am working as work study in my University, so I tried to put my work experience but what do I have to write in the “Employment Date till” section as I am working now.?
3. Also before I used to work in different department and now I have a new supervisor so what do I have to do in this case, but It its is the same employer?
November 14, 2019 at 17:07
1. Those are not social media accounts.
2. Use some judgement.
3. It should be part of your current occupation.
4. That is one job.
November 14, 2019 at 08:10
Hi,
Good morning!
One more thing, if I happen to have a high case number, for this case, like CN 2020AF66*** ,
Do I have any risk like being not scheduled for interviews for any reason?
Thank you so much for the great work!
November 14, 2019 at 17:12
Yes of course there is a risk of not being scheduled. I have previously stated my prediction that al AF region (except Egypt) could go current – but things change, so that prediction could change too.
November 14, 2019 at 21:53
Hello!
Thank you so much , we love the good work you’re doing ; May God keep his mighty hand upon you ?
November 14, 2019 at 09:52
Dear Brit Simon,
I have been selected in the first stage of the lottery 2020 program. My wife’s sister is currently working in the US and has OPT visa. She is not a US citizen. Is she eligible to fill sponsorship forms for me as a principal applicant? If yes, I would be grateful if you could address these forms.
Thanks for your consideration.
November 14, 2019 at 17:17
No.
November 14, 2019 at 13:06
Good day,
I am Dv winner 2020AS15***, whos living in KSA, my question is if I have an emergency travel to be with my father for rehabilitation from next April up to July, is it acceptable to schedule my interview in Egypt rather than Saudi for this reason
November 14, 2019 at 17:22
It’s not an “emergency” if you can plan it 6 months ahead.
If you change your residence address, you unlock your DS260 and update it. But in your case you will be current before April.
November 14, 2019 at 17:09
Hi sir ,when are we expecting January VB ???
November 14, 2019 at 17:28

November 15, 2019 at 01:15
Hello sir.My case number is 2020AS00006XXX .
I’m having some trouble regarding about my sponsor. His income in 2018 is low for sponsoring me but it is sufficient in 2019 but his Tax file would not be completed before my interview so in this case I should change my sponsor or if he writes letter showing about his business and income giving his information to check online and verify will be acceptable??
November 16, 2019 at 04:51
To reduce risk, get another sponsor.
November 15, 2019 at 01:20
If I have completed twelve year of education qualifications and running on my bachelor level and written University degree on DS-260 ,is it necessary to correct it or not??only high school certificate would be seen at interview or I need to have university level completed documents as in DS260???or is it necessary to unlock DS260 form and correct it???
November 16, 2019 at 04:52
As long as your DS260 is otherwise accurate, no need to correct.
November 15, 2019 at 01:25
Dear BritSimon,
I tried searching through your website and YT channel (e.g. “Green Card Lottery – draw process explained DV Lottery”, “checking results and some tips, faqs”, etc.), but could not find the answer to my question. I recently filled out the 2021 DV application, but as I completed I saw this stated on the confirmation page:
“DV-2021 Entrants should keep their confirmation number until at least September 30, 2021”
I’ve read in a lot of your guides were you mentioned about the draw selections they have for picking candidates, and rarely is their a second draw after they have sorted through the compiled list. Is it safe to say that if you haven’t been selected within the first draw window, that there is a good chance you have not been selected?
Also, if you’re not chosen, do you get confirmation stating that you have not been chosen?
People not selected see “not selected” when they check.
November 16, 2019 at 04:53
Even in years where there is a second draw, it is normally small.
November 16, 2019 at 10:49

Brit, a friend entered the lottery being actually single but said she was married(she didn’t know better), because she was engaged and planning to marry soon, then she was selected, but the date of marriage is after May 7. Would that be immediate disqualification?
November 15, 2019 at 14:01
Sorry, not May, after October 2018.
November 16, 2019 at 05:04
No, not always.
November 15, 2019 at 16:41
Hi Brit, I recently got the KCC e-mail which says to submit the required documents to them. Did they send this e-mail to all of the selectees? Because I am pretty concerned about my DV case which is EU39k, does that mean that I will have a chance to get to the interview?
Thanks a lot for your kindness !

No problem.
November 15, 2019 at 21:38
Hi BritSimon
I wanted some information for a friend of mine
The person in question is a woman, Last year she returned to the country of birth
and has been staying for more than a year, while giving birth to a child, and is now seeking to return to the USA,
what should she do to get the baby?
Thank you very much
November 16, 2019 at 05:11
You have to be more clear,
November 16, 2019 at 09:02
Hi Brit
In case an interview for DV2020 visa happens in August 2020, will the DV visas still be active after Sep Sep2020 or it is required to arrive to US still in 2020 fiscal year? Does it make sense to plan move to US on DV2020 visa in FebMar 2021? I assume the visas are valid 6 months from issue date
November 16, 2019 at 17:37
The visas are valid until the expiry date.
November 16, 2019 at 11:33
Hi britsimon! KCC emailed my in October to submit document but, I didn’t submit it because I will do AOS because I live in USA under pending asylum case and my number is high. Is it ok to wait few months to know if my number be current or not? My CN is 2020 AF 69k from Egypt. Thank you
November 16, 2019 at 17:43
Your number is somewhat risky. Egypt has a chance of being stopped early due to the 7% per country limit. So, yes – you should wait some months.
November 16, 2019 at 14:10
Hi simon. What is a lost visa packet and how do i deal with that?
November 16, 2019 at 17:46
What an odd question. Either you lost it or you didn’t.
November 16, 2019 at 15:34
hi brit
in bank statement my address is different than passport
is it ok for the interview?
November 16, 2019 at 17:52

November 16, 2019 at 20:42
Hell brit for some reason i cant post a question on your blog its always showing awaiting moderation
I don’t know whats wrong
November 16, 2019 at 22:47
Awaiting moderation means waiting for my approval. That is NORMAL.
November 16, 2019 at 20:26
Hello brit thanks for your relentless effort on keeping us informed you hardwork is sincierly appreciated.
In your opinion do you think i can present a sponsor from my home country as opposed to finding one in the US?
I have a sponsor that meets all the requirements and i aslo have assets as well although my financial bank statement wont suffice.
Im trying to look at all my available options in order for me to get well prepared
November 16, 2019 at 20:45
No. The sponsor must be in the USA.
November 16, 2019 at 20:31
Hello Brit
as you know i still haven’t received an email to submit my document case number is EU52XXX so i decided to send those documents myself without any emails ….i cant wait more becouse all are sent that document
what do you think about this ?i wanted know your suggestion? is that right?
Please answer!
November 16, 2019 at 20:44
I think it was silly to be impatient since your number means you will wait anyway.
November 16, 2019 at 20:39
Hi dear simon thank you 4 every thing you do. I have submit the required documents for kccdv documents.state.gov before a month but no response shall i wait
And my big fear is i am not married but i have 3 children from my girl friend and i entered single. If i scheduled to the interview they will ask me about child and i must tell them yes i have 3 child, so could it be visa denied reason. The other is my high school document birth date and degree documents has 4 years difference is it a big deal or problem to be denied.
Thank you sir britsimon.
November 16, 2019 at 20:42
Yes, you will be disqualified for not listing your children.
November 16, 2019 at 23:44
Hi DV winners past and present, just to request all friends that, if you know any friends whose interview is in Mumbai (Bombay), India, please let me know. I am scheduled there and like to get I touch to share and get information. 2. Which countries are schedule interview at Mumbai consulate? Thanks
November 17, 2019 at 05:04
Mumbai interviews are rare since it mainly serves Indians, who are not eligible for the Lottery.
November 17, 2019 at 09:34
Hi, i was interviewed in mumbai, unfortunately i ended up in AP. Let me knw if i can help in any way?
November 17, 2019 at 12:17
Thanks trendy for your response. Are you do 2019 or 2020? Which country? When did you attend interview there? What is the reason to put you in AP? Please also share what questions were asked? Did they ask you to show i-134 and bank statement? And leave your email ID, so that I can collect more information relating dv requirements there?
Thanks
November 18, 2019 at 11:48
Hi Trendy, did they ask for the document of sponsorship
November 18, 2019 at 12:39
they asked me who is sponsoring, i said myself..didnt ask for any documents.
November 17, 2019 at 05:24
Hello Mr. Brit,
Thanks for your kind support for our cases.
I have a couple of questions:
my case number: 2020AF…81xx
1. KCC congratulated me for submitting my documents even though my case is current. The problem is they didn’t email me for interview until now. I have asked KCC and they emailed me that I’ll be interviewed when my case become current, but it is already. So my question is, will my current case will expire on next VB (>12,000 in AF region)? When will you think my interview will be if it doesn’t expire?
2. I have been denied visa two times before for scholarship and visitor visa, which I have indicated on my DS260. So, will that affect my visa interview?
Thanks once again,
November 18, 2019 at 20:49
1. Your chance won’t expire. Whether you get a January interview or not depends WHEN you sent the documents.
2. Probably not.
November 17, 2019 at 06:24

November 17, 2019 at 13:19
hello brit
my case number AF35000
I submitted my DS 260 the month of September
I have not yet received the email from kcc for docs
1-can I send the docs to the kcc? or wait for their email
2-I change a new job this November, should I add this new job on my ds 260, or wait for the interview to do it?
thanks
November 18, 2019 at 21:06
1. Wait – there is no need to rush.
2. No need to change the DS260 for that.
November 17, 2019 at 13:23
Hello Brit, do you think that your predictions are still possible and nothing is changed? Sorry for this silly question..
Best regards…
November 18, 2019 at 21:07
Things did change. KCC are sending document emails out en masse – so that may have an impact. I’ll create an article/video explaining that soon.
November 17, 2019 at 13:34

im from same country, have you prepared the documents, let have advices.
November 17, 2019 at 15:08
“Dear Sir, thank you for helping us, we found everything that help us in your website. I would like your help: I won the gc lottery and went last June 2018 to the United States to activate the gc and returned to my country because of family issues. Now I am ready to return permanently back to the United States. Will I be denied or have problem sir? Do you know if other people did the same?
I am very worried but really want to use this gc opportunity.
Please advise Sir. Thanks, Daniel”
Dear Sir, I don’t know if you remember my previous post last September, which I pasted above. Thanks very much for advise. I applied for SB-1 visa and I will go to embassy to can reenter United sates permanently.
Do you know experience from other people, if there is chance to be accepted for s1b? Is it impossible or do I still have the chance? do they also give s1b for diversity visa holders or are more strict?
I will do my best and explain. Also how many days is s1b visa valid?
Thanks Sir. I want the gc opportunity as never before. I want to be positive. Waiting your advise Sir. thank you, Daniel
November 18, 2019 at 21:08
I’m not expert on SB1, so I don’t have anything to base an answer on.
November 17, 2019 at 18:03
As DV winner can I move to Puerto Rico? would all permanent residency and naturalization requirements work same as if with moving to the mainland US?
November 18, 2019 at 21:11
Yes
