Hi Brit!
Last two months have seen the visa bulletin with just a slight increase in the numbers. It means they don’t want enough load once they start scheduling interviews !
If they start scheduling interviews for January (hope they will) we may see the numbers increasing. Am I right?
November 21, 2020 at 04:44
Maybe. Nothing is predictable at the moment.
November 21, 2020 at 04:21
May God send you A GOOD NEWS FROM HEAVEN EVERY MORNING. IN THIS YEAR.

2. I don’t know.
November 21, 2020 at 09:45
Hello almaz,
my Case number is below 1,600 it is current. I am 2021 Selectee !
November 21, 2020 at 06:35
Hi Simon, I was selected in DV 2021, and I submit an adjust of status on October 1st, but I have no received the receipt notification from USCIS yet. Do you know why is taking so long for the receipt notice?
November 21, 2020 at 15:37
How could I possibly know?
Check that you did everything correctly.

November 22, 2020 at 01:00
Thanks, I just want to know if you have heard any delay in sending receipt notice from USCIS.
November 22, 2020 at 04:52
No
November 21, 2020 at 07:07
Hi Brit,
I hope you’re doing well.
What do you think about the new Visa Bulletin for Africa. I was expecting a lower increase. Is this a good sign for Africa? I’m AF32xxx, do you think my CN will become current at some point during the FY. Thanks a lot.
November 21, 2020 at 15:38
You cannot assume anything from the increase at the moment.
Your number is not high. So – patience.
November 21, 2020 at 08:29
Dear Brit,
I hope you are keeping safe.
Africa visa bulletin has gone current up to 7,000.00. In case they schedule for interview in January 2021, will they accommodate all these case numbers starting with the lowest case numbers?
November 21, 2020 at 15:45
AF region is current up to 10500. Any case that is ready for scheduling under that number is treated the same.
November 21, 2020 at 09:02
Dear Simon,
For the past two Visa Bulletin, the case number update for Nepal is 50 and 75 respectively, but for other Countries and regions, it has been very high around 800-1000, Even for Iran it’s 800 this time…What may be the reason for such a small rise in case number for Nepal only ??? Should the people with high case number in Nepal be worried because of this??
November 21, 2020 at 15:48
People need to be patient.
The reason that Nepal is not increasing is that almost all Nepali case are interviewed in KDU embassy and the number of cases that are ready for scheduling is increasing to the point that KDU cannot handle more interviews in one month.
Be patient.
November 21, 2020 at 09:08
Hey Simon
I am 2020 dv winner I got my visa in September 30th I want to ask you can I go to another state other than my sponsor ? At the Embassy I told them that I am going to the state of my sponsor but now I changed my plans. My sponsor is willing to help me even if I live in another state.
November 21, 2020 at 15:49
Go anywhere. No need to ask permission or inform anyone.
November 21, 2020 at 09:11
Hello Simon. I want to give you an information. There are people who won DV2020 Azerbaijan and got their interview scheduled in Tbilisi, Georgia. But US Embassy in Georgia lying. Georgia as a country deny an entry any Azerbaijani citizen. (due COVID, Even with clear tests) Later those people who didn’t arrived into county of course they failed to obtain their visa. US Embassy says “It is not our problem we made court decision. We scheduled the interview you didn’t arrived.” Such sorrow… They are playing with people lives. Please tell this to judge. And US Embassy says “No we do not provide any DV visa in US Embassy Azerbaijan…
I don’t know what to say. I’am named plaintiff in Anunciato case. I will not be able to get visa due that situation… To hell this world…
November 21, 2020 at 09:15
P.S. US Embassy in Azerbaijan gives only certain Nonimmigrant Visas
November 21, 2020 at 09:20
Besides, US Embassy in Georgia says:
“Be physically present in Georgia for at least 14 days” otherwise you will be denied an entry into US Embassy.
It is impossible to obtain medical docs in rightful manner. You will fail to present a medical documents. I think US Embassy in Georgia intentionally sabotage immigration procedures
November 21, 2020 at 10:45
Not all US Embassies can process the US immigrants visas. There is only few in each part of the world. Therefore US Embassy in Baku will not process dv visas. It’s not their job.
And the Ambassy in Tblissi don’t care if an applicant cannot travel to Georgia because of covid restrictions to attend the interview. It’s not their job.
November 21, 2020 at 12:11
So let’s stay and do nothing. Trump is best for America, right? Are you anti-immigrant person?
I understand that it is not their job in Baku’s US Embassy, okay. But US Embassy in Georgia is well aware that they are lying when they say “come here” Okay Imagine person crossed illegal Azeri-Georgia border what US Embassy will say? of course they will deny you to enter US Embassy, because IT IS THEIR JOB. So when it comes to them “it is not their job. Thank you” but when it comes to you “It is their job”, right? I smell here hypocrisy. As KCC lied and illegibly send e-mail in style like “Sorry but DV2020 is over. Thank you” It was proven that it was illegal, same is here.
November 21, 2020 at 16:02
@Elvin.
First, there was no need to be rude to Stephane – he was trying to explain what you seem to not understand.
And again, you are getting more frustrated and not thinking things through very well. To KCC and the embassies, DV2020 is OVER. You should already understand that, I explain that all the time. They will only change that perspective if we win the final judgement of the court and the Judge instructs the government to issue the remaining visas. If that happens your chances will not be improved by being rude and difficult with everyone or assuming that everyone is trying to attack you or plot against you. Calm down!
November 21, 2020 at 12:21
“if an applicant cannot travel to Georgia because of covid restrictions” – but they care and do put restrictions like “say in Georgia for 14 days” while is your medical packet is valid for 14 days(medical packet is done in Baku). They are contradicting to themselves .
November 21, 2020 at 13:12
I try just to clarify you that KCC and US Embassies don’t have any power to force a souverain country like Georgia to change their travel restrictions policies because of a dv visa applicant.KCC and Embassies don’t care about covid and travel restrictions.
The Judge Metha secured 9025 visas for dv2020 winners, but you should know that according to US law the fiscal year finish each september 30. So they didint lied when they said dv2020 is over. It’s over normally.
The only thing that can change that is the adoption by US congress of a new law to extend the fiscal year beyond september 30 for dv2020 winners. Lawfully dv2020 is over.
And even if there is extension, it’s your responsability to go to Tblissi and attend the interview, if not KCC or embassy can do nothing for you. I understand that it’s so frustrating, and hope thing will get better and you will be able to travel to Georgia and get your visa.
November 22, 2020 at 14:10
I wanted to apologize if you found my comment amusing. I wasn’t rude. I just worried after all other stuff will go away one specific problem to Azerbaijan will remain…
And of course US Embassy in Georgia will not care
November 22, 2020 at 14:11
abusive*
November 21, 2020 at 15:50
@Elvin, no one is deliberately sabotaging anything. The country and the embassy have certain COVID protocols. The embassy cannot control country decisions. So – have some patience.
November 21, 2020 at 09:54
Hi Brit,
My case number is 2021AS0000245*,It’s from Nepal,
Is my number already in visa bulletin ? Or coming soon? May I pls know For 2021 until which number is ready for interview For Nepal ?
November 21, 2020 at 15:52
Take a look at my post from yesterday. Read.
November 21, 2020 at 12:11
Hi brit. Few weeks after submitting ds 260, i created a new email and an instagram business page. What should i do about that? Should i unlock my form? I’m stressed out about this section of ds 260. Five years is a long time and i am worried about not recalling all of my social media accounts so i might miss some of them on my ds260. Is this section really that important?
Should i include deleted accounts too?
November 21, 2020 at 16:03
Just do your best to remember and then don’t overthink it.
November 21, 2020 at 12:53
Hello Brit!
I have a question about the 2NLs.
How will we know if the invitations to the interview for January have been sent?
Thank You !
November 21, 2020 at 16:44
I will tell you.
November 21, 2020 at 23:14
Hello Simón, a technical question, in normal circumstances after the visa bulletin is published, the 2NL are sent by the system automatically or is it a task that they perform manually and on weekdays???
November 22, 2020 at 04:52
manually and on weekdays
November 22, 2020 at 07:43
Nkeih Oliver. Hi Brit Simon, wish to use your platform and plead to anyone from Cameroon who can help me with list of attached or supporting documents. I learned some may vary with different countries. Thanks in advance. Stay bless, fellow friends.
November 22, 2020 at 14:45
No need to plead. All you have to do is read the instructions, which will even provide country specific document lists.
November 21, 2020 at 14:51
Hello sir I would like to know a candidate has the possibility to unlock his ds260 how many times to make changes? Thanks for your help?
November 21, 2020 at 16:45
1743
November 21, 2020 at 15:25
Hi Brit! Thank you so much for the immense job you are doing!!! People don’t realize how much time is involved!
I have few questions regarding DV:
1. If I choose CP and start the process, can I travel in the meantime with my E2 visa or I am obliged to stay in my country until I get the interview?
2. Now that public charge is inadmissible at US consulate abroad should I still get an I-134?
3. DS-260 asking> Is your Mailing Address the same as your Present Address? Should I indicate the address I live in US or the address I want to Green card to be sent in Italy?
4. Do you have an address in the United States where you intend to live?
Name of person currently living at address: it is actually only me as I am living in US, is that fine ?
November 21, 2020 at 16:51
1. No restrictions.
2. Yes. Only one aspect of public charge was blocked, not all of it.
3. They will only send the GC to a US address.
4. Fine.
November 21, 2020 at 17:13
about answer on 3. Tell if I am wrong: if the consulate approve my visa they will give me my passport back plus a folder with documentation which I will give to the immigration officer at my first arrival to US. If approved the Green Card will be sent later to a US address. Who an when I should inform if I want the GC sent to another address?
November 21, 2020 at 18:12
You don’t get to change where the GC is sent. It will be sent to the address you give on the DS260, although there is a last chance to change that when you activate your status at the arrival airport.
November 21, 2020 at 20:09
Thank you soo much Brit!!
November 21, 2020 at 15:42
hello sir
i am from Nepal
Do you As.9590 will go current? Is my number too high? I am so stressed with yesterday’s VB.
November 21, 2020 at 16:52

November 21, 2020 at 16:17
I got selected for dv2021 , my case number is AS 11xxx
I still didn’t receive email from KCCDVDocuments to submit my documents. Should i wait for their Email? Or i should proactively send the required documents to them?
November 21, 2020 at 16:53
You should wait.
November 21, 2020 at 17:38
Hi Simon
I am DV winner 2021 with AS00004XXX. My number will be current next VB, I have submitted my DS260 since July and I submitted my documents late August after I receive the email from KCC but I did not receive ready to schedule email yet. Please need your help with below:

Thank you in advance.
November 21, 2020 at 18:14
1. You can either contact them again or wait.
2. Probably enough unless you have a very unreasonable CO.
November 21, 2020 at 19:06
Hello
Thanks a lot for the guidance!
I played dv 2022 alone using my passport; I’m now married can I use the same passport to play with my wife in the next dv?
November 22, 2020 at 04:44
Well that depends on your local procedures.
November 24, 2020 at 11:09
Despite my local procedures, under the dv law, can I use the same passport I played with as a single in one fiscal year and also use it in another fiscal year as married couples? Please answer me
November 24, 2020 at 23:15
Yes of course.
November 21, 2020 at 21:11
Hello sir,
Just seeking your advice. I was recently in the US for about 4 months visiting relatives. While in the US i find out I win DV 2021 so i submit my application to KCC and I leave the country. I did not want to do AOS, I wanted to do consular processing. I plan to visit the US again next month to spend time with family for the holidays. Do you think it is risky for me to do visit the US again after i submit my immigrant visa application and after recently spending a couple months in the US? Please let me know if you have any advice based on your experience.
November 22, 2020 at 04:47
No risk to the DV case.
November 22, 2020 at 07:51
Ok but what about risk to my tourist visa?
November 22, 2020 at 14:47
Well staying 4 months and then returning to the US after being away 1 month raises some concerns about your non immigrant visa – but that is not what I advise on.
November 21, 2020 at 21:14
Hi Brit going through the whole DS-260 , I have few more questions:
1. Have you even been issued a U.S. Visa? Should I write the date of the first time I got the Visa or the last renewal? I renewed already 3 times.
2. Do I really need to bring original documents like my High School diploma , Military Service and various certification or I can just bring photocopies? I am asking because I already used 2-3 times and…..I always like to keep the originals with me.
3. Do you authorize disclosure of information from this form to the Department of Homeland
Security, the Social Security Administration, and such other U.S. Government agencies as may
be required for the purposes of assigning you a Social Security number (SSN) and issuing you a
Social Security card and do you authorize the Social Security Administration to share your SSN
with the Department of Homeland Security? What happens if I choose NO
4. I have my company and I put myself in Furlough from March….after the Unemployment Benefit I will be technically hired back in the same company. Should I put this gap of time in the record when indicating the companies I worked for or I can ignore it because in the end I will simply go on with my company?
November 22, 2020 at 04:49
1. Choose one – it doesn’t matter.
2. Take the originals and copies. Give them the copies SHOW the originals.
3. You would then apply for the SSN yourself.
4. You can decide.
November 22, 2020 at 14:04
Thank you Brit!
November 22, 2020 at 01:29
Hi Brit,
I am from Syria and I am 2021 DV winner, my case number is 22***. I have seen that dv still been issued for Syrian in the last 4 years, how can it be possible with Trump’s ban on Syrians and is it possible that I can have a visa if President Biden leave the Syrian ban?
Another question please.
In my winning page, interview was located at Amman-Jordan embassy but I changed it in Ds-260 to Beirut-Lebanon, after I submitted the DS-260 I discovered that the Syrian applicant instructions says, Syrian applicant should be interviewed at Amman embassy. Do I have to mail KCC to change it again or it will be in Beirut as I have asked for in DS-260 or they will redirect me automatically to Amman Embassy again without asking for. (noticing that Beirut embassy is more suitable for me).
My last question, depending on my case number, If the Islamic countries ban still applied or not, what is my chances in having an interview.
Thank you for your time and for your expected helpful answer.
Best Regards
November 22, 2020 at 04:54
1. Some people were exempt through having other citizenships etc. Assuming Biden removes the ban you should get a better chance.
2. You will be scheduled in the country where you live.
3. You already asked.
November 22, 2020 at 07:03
Hi brit
1.How long can I unlock my form before becoming current so that it does not delay my work process?
2.If I unlock, do I need to resend the documents?
Thanks?
November 22, 2020 at 14:44
1. That depends on your case number.
2. That depends on what changes you needed to make and whether your required documents have changed or not.
November 22, 2020 at 09:01
Hi
Have you traveled to any countries/regions the last five?
With regards to the above question on the DS-260 form, I live close to a boarder where we cross to the other country by foot( we only stamp passport without visa ) and return to our country sometime same day.
I have not included this country on my DS-260, but I did include the one I had visa and travelled by air…
Please, would that have any future implication?
Should I ask KCC to unlock my DS-260 so I include this country.
Thanks so much for your earnest support given us.
November 22, 2020 at 14:48
Yes you should include that country.
November 22, 2020 at 09:22
Hi Brit,
Thank you again, for you help through the DV process and beyond…
My wife and I, got our DV visa late 08/ 2019, we made our first entry mid Jan 2020 and left back to our country in feb 2020 to initially sort out our previous life before immigrating definitely ( quitting our jobs, selling appartement…) but the Corona virus crisis came into account so we decided to postpone our return to the USA ( the conditions did not seem ideal for a new start from scratch).
Right after our departure ( feb 2020) , our permanent resident cards have been received safely but unfortunately we didn’t collected them.
We are planning to return permanently to the USA before Jan 2021, so less then a year after leaving… Is it preferable to have our cards send to us via DHL or else or can we travel with the visa endorsed ( valid for 1 year starting day of endorsement thus still valid)?
Thank you again for your help.
November 22, 2020 at 14:50
Get the cards sent to you by courier.
November 22, 2020 at 12:29
Hello Sir, I am a dv winner of 2021 from Nepal. My case number is less than 376, My brother is citizen of USA. Is there any benifit for me from that?
November 22, 2020 at 14:54
From your brother? Not really.
November 22, 2020 at 14:17
Hi Brit.
1. is my intention to wait the end of the fiscal year 2020 before sending out the ds-260. At which point should I ask my I-134 sponsor to send me his info?
2. Should I-134 financial document be relative to 2020?
3. If I reside in US but I prefer going to CP in Italy how can I communicate it to KCC? I didn’t see anything on the DS.260
November 22, 2020 at 14:56
1. When you get the 2NL
2. It should be up to date at the time you present it.
3. Your DS260 will have your US address, but you will email asking them to schedule you in Italy.
November 22, 2020 at 15:11
3. So I send the DS260 and write another email to KCC asking them to have CP in Italy right? Can they refuse it and force me to AOS?
November 22, 2020 at 16:00
I answered. Imagine I have to answer every question twice.
Of course they can’t force you to do AOS!
November 22, 2020 at 16:35
ok sorry…it’s just this is the first time I deal with this and so even the smallest detail is new for me.
Thank you so much!
November 22, 2020 at 14:53
I have become totally hopeless because of my Case number. [As9600 from Nepal]. Is my number possess that much risk? 🙂
Should i expect my number to be current, if so when?
Appreciate your work.
November 22, 2020 at 16:00
It’s a high number so you will need to wait and see.
November 22, 2020 at 15:47
Hello Brit !
At question “Have you traveled to any countries/regions within the last five years?” I forgot to add the USA, although I was with a student visa several times. Should I unlock the DS260 to complete the form with USA ?
Thank you !
November 22, 2020 at 19:48
Yes it should be accurate.
November 22, 2020 at 16:28
Hey. When I make my personal application and have my wife and children attached to me. And my wife also makes her application and have me the husband and wife attached to her… Will that be considered as double entry?
November 22, 2020 at 16:35
A married couple enter one time each.
November 22, 2020 at 16:34
Hello Brit!
At question “Have you traveled to any countries/regions within the last five years ?” I forgot to add the USA, although ai was with a student visa several times. Should I unlock the DS260 to complete the form with USA?
Thank you !
November 22, 2020 at 17:05
Hi Brit!
Thanks for all the updates, I would be lost without your blog/videos/comments!
I’m currently a DV2021 selectee (SA25XX), we filled in the ds 260, but we did not receive any email from KCC for further information. How do you see our possibilities with the new info on the visa bulletin? Is it ok or it’s a long shot?
On the other hand, I don’t have my vaccination card, when should I start getting the necessary vaccines? Should I do it now? Or closer to the doctors appointment? (If we get to that instance).
Thank you in advance,
November 22, 2020 at 17:48
I see that you are from the South American region, go to telegram to this group *** Edited **** and contact the administrator, he will help you.
November 22, 2020 at 19:00
@Winner. Don’t post comments like this please. I have no idea whether that group is genuine, or whether the admin knows what he/she is doing.
November 22, 2020 at 18:59
Your number will not be current for some months, so patience is important at this point. I don’t have a prediction as for your chances since so much is up in the air.
Whatever vaccinations you need will be determined and administered at your medical, shortly before your interview.
November 22, 2020 at 17:55
Hi BritSimon.
Love your site!
AS28XXX here– and would love to get your opinion if possible.
I am given the opportunity to apply H1B1 visa with my current company (in sometime Feb 2021). The H1B1 visa- if you are not aware, provides an approval time of 2 weeks + almost guaranteed approval.
The ultimate goal is immigration and I will do which ever gives the better chance of that.
Should I do the H1B1 in Feb 2021, and then apply for AOS? Otherwise, do I stay in my current country and wait for CP?
Thanks in advance for your help. I’ve read you did AOS so I really value your opinion.
Mel
November 22, 2020 at 18:57
I did AOS from H1 – so yes I am aware, and there is no problem to DV if you want to do that. However, the H1 might not be as simple as you think.
November 22, 2020 at 18:25
Hello sir is any chance tondo lawsuit for 2020
**** Edited by Simon ****
November 22, 2020 at 18:55
I have already made clear my thoughts on additional lawsuits, as has Jesse Bless. Read that here:

If you still want to join that lawsuit, that is obviously your choice.
November 22, 2020 at 18:33
Brit, LPR’s from the UK. Its coming up to 12 months since activation
1. Can we travel to USA from UK in current travel ban as returnimg residents
2. Can we travel with our activated Visa’s – it shows date iof entry at POE – as not sure the Green Cards have arrived but we will go to that address in any case and we can collect it ourselves once we get there.
Will they admit you on the activated Visa as we havent been back since – but have to go now as 1 year is coming up fast?
November 22, 2020 at 18:51
1. Yes.
2. If the original activation is less than 12 months, the visa is valid for entry. BUT you may be better having the GCs sent to you.
November 23, 2020 at 14:34
Brit
I know you don’t like answering answered questions but I feel these further questions are relevant.
Feel free to have a go at me if they are not.
1. Which date is relevant ? If the Visa was activated on 15th December 2019 at POE and we left the US on 28th December can we arrive………………. between the 15th and 28th December 2020 on that Visa (as we only left USA on 28.12.19) if we don’t have Green Cards in possession
2. I notice you put BUT in CAPS – but – Is time too tight now to have the GC sent to us now and isn’t that a risk (relying on postal / courier service).
I know it’s better having it in possession but what obstacles and where would those obstacles be if not in possession of GC………., boarding plane in the UK or at POE?
We can explain to the CBP at the POE that we haven’t been back to USA since coronavirus outbreak both sides of the pond
3. Final new question – In the UK, as you may remember when you lived here, they have something called “special delivery” by the Royal Mail.
What is the USA equivalent to “special delivery” and should we get those GC dispatched urgently using this equivalent and will we in fact get them in time relying on postal service
November 23, 2020 at 14:56
1. I said “If the original activation is less than 12 months” – so – 15th December 2019
2. Just easier to explain to the airline – they may not understand the notation “upon endorsement”, and the visa itself will have an expiry date, giving the impression it is expired. CBP should understand.
3. If you do send the cards, use Fedex or similar. UK Special delivery really is only trusted within the UK. Same thing here.
November 23, 2020 at 16:45
Oh my…sorry to ask you one more thing
If we set off before 15th Dec, if using the visa within the 12 months as per your advice, our kids’ UK passports have changed this year 2020 as they had expired (they have the new Dark Blue British Non-EU passports) but we still possess their expired one with the visa.
Goes without saying the kids will carry the new valid British passport and old expired passport with the visa duly endorsed by CBP on 15 Dec 19 – this shouldn’t pose any problem either with the airline or CBP at POE?
As an observation – I’m confident British Airways won’t kick up a fuss as they will understand English terminology “upon endorsement”, they are not an ignorant carrier (I’m pretty sure)……Seeing England invented English!
And from one highly advanced and developed nation to another – across the pond – you would have thought ?! Right?
November 23, 2020 at 20:50
I have seen airlines balk at the up endorsement thing because they take the expiry date as being a conflicting statement. It’s not a showstopper – but just an annoyance in what is already a stressful process.
December 10, 2020 at 16:13
Since my last message – as we are at that time now literally – an update – I’ve booked the airline tickets as you’ve advised to go before the 1 year activation (if you are using same visa and don’t have GC in possession)
I have had the pictures of the Green Card sent over ..i.e. on my phone too (whatsapp) – Of course I am on way to that location in the USA to take possession
You never answered the query I had in the nessage…
i.e. the Kids’ UK passports were renewed summer 2020 – we have old (with Visa endorsed Dec 2019) and new UK passport
That should be OK to:
1. Board aircraft (i.e. Visa endorsed on old passport which has been replaced summer 2020)?
2. At POE in US (as no green card in hand literally?
December 10, 2020 at 16:51
1. As I already explained, the airline “should” understand that, but there is a chance they don’t. So you will show the old and new passports.
2. Again, as already explained – CBP should certainly understand.

Hello Brit!
My wife is a principal selectee for DV2021 CN EU10k. We are in the process of submitting our DS260 but we are concerned about some things:
1. We are planning to move sometime soon. We are filling out our form with our current address. Will we have to unlock and update our ds260 once we move to update our address or is this not necessary and it can be done at the interview?
2. Because of the moving, she will be unemployed for some time. Will we have to unlock and update the DS260 showing that status or is it not necessary and it can be done at the interview?
3. Does being unemployed have any effect at the interview? I will be employed and we can show savings and an affidavit.
4. This one is a bit more specific: I went to high school for one year in the US. I attended two schools there but I have no evidence of attending the first one. Should I reflect both schools anyways?
November 22, 2020 at 19:58
1. At interview is fine.
2. No need to update.
3. Doesn’t matter.
4. Of course.

Good morning, AS 1099x, DV2021
As I read above your answer on someone from Nepal has his case number AS9600, you described his case number as high so he should wait and see what will happen,
1- is it high because from Nepal or in general?
Thank you Sir
November 22, 2020 at 21:49
Nepal. I already explained this in a video – and have given you that link before.
November 23, 2020 at 02:27
This is from the airline website.
1. Cant we travel if we dont have one of the visa categories include in exemptions?
2. Does ‘D’ mean diversity visas?
What are the entry requirements?
The United States has extended border closures with Canada and Mexico until 21 November.
US citizens, permanent residents, and their close family members are allowed to enter.
Travellers who have transited or who in the last 14 days have been in the following countries are restricted from entering the United States: Austria, Belgium, Brazil, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, France, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Iran, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Sweden, and United Kingdom.
Exceptions include:

Members of US armed forces and their spouses and children.
Travellers with evidence of travelling at the invitation of the USA government for containment or mitigation of COVID-19 related issues.

B-1 crew members engaged in lightering, Outer Continental Shelf (OCS), wind firm activities, and private air-sea crew.
Students with F-1 or M-1 visa and their F-2 and M-2 dependents.
November 23, 2020 at 02:32
The immigrant bans (and the Schengen/similar bans) are still in force. The immigrant ban is due to expire on Dec 31st. THe D in the list does not refer to Diversity.
November 23, 2020 at 02:53
My visa is subjected to 10014. I am planning to travel in January. With these requirements in the airlines can we book tickets before 31st December.
November 23, 2020 at 03:08
Yes. I have explained that repeatedly in recent articles, videos and numerous answers given here. I’m surprised you had to even ask.
November 23, 2020 at 04:51
Dear Brit,
What is 2NL letter, Does it show the interview date?
Does KCC start to send 2NL letter for DV2021 winner?
How many dates have between the 2NL letter and the interview date?
Thank You.
November 23, 2020 at 05:31
Please read the FAQ
November 23, 2020 at 08:16
Hi Brit,
Thanks for the great job you are doing !!
Case:2021AS80## from Nepal
Yesterday I submitted by DS-260 and later found that I made a mistake in “Previous Address Details”in DS form of my Spouse(Derivative). Actually its partly correct and party incorrect but within the same country. In address Section, I have entered Municipality correctly and State and City has been entered same as mine instead of my spouse.
1. Do you recommend me to unlock the DS-260 and correct it or its a minor mistake that doesnot make any difference?
2. How do you categorize my CN-High or Medium high and chances of geeting scheduled for interview?
November 23, 2020 at 14:03
1. Your choice, you have plenty of time to wait so correcting won’t cause any delay.
2. It’s a “wait and see” kind of number.
November 23, 2020 at 09:00
Hi Dear Brit Simon, apologies in advance for number of questions
If you remember i asked you about my mother, her case number is AS00000700 and we are from IRAN,you suggested us to wait and see if Mr.biden WINS,now i have a few more questions:
1)should we fill out DS260 form NOW or wait for Mr.biden to come to white House on 21st January?(because of removing muslim ban)
2)in forms I-134,DS 5540 and DS 260 should children above 21 years old be listed too?(both for winner and sponser in i134?)
3)if we don’t have i-134 then how much bank balance is almost enough?(i know you said there is no rule but around 250.000$ is enough for family of 2?)
4)We were living in india for a while,in reciprocity page for foreigners who were in india and now living out of india it is mentioned that indian police certificates are not available for foreigners applying outside india.however indian embassy told me that they issue it but it takes time.so what should we do now?should we get it or no?
Many thanks and regards in advance
November 23, 2020 at 14:07
1. Now would be fine.
2. At this time the DS5540 is blocked so you should not be asked for it, but YOUR family size for the DV process does not include children over 21.
3. As I said there is no rule, but that would normally be enough.
4. Not available means you are not expected to provide it.
November 23, 2020 at 09:10
Hello sir!
Case Number : 6800 from Nepal.
Is it high or it’s fine ? I’m panicking!
Thanks !
November 23, 2020 at 14:08
It’s probably OK, but everyone should wait and see.
November 23, 2020 at 10:20
Hi brit. It’s about the end week of November and till now I know no one whose got a 2NL , so do you thing there is any chance that any interview will take place in January? Also I had send my requested documents 8 week ago and have not received any information. Do I need to mail them to conform or should I wait? Thank you for your efforts.
November 23, 2020 at 14:14
You should wait.
November 23, 2020 at 10:34
Good afternoon
I am driving myself crazy and I know I am overthinking everything now. My case number is 2021AF19000. KCC has sent an email requesting documents, which I have sent in Aug. I see this question come past quite a lot and now I am doubting myself. The question whether you have travelled to any country within the last 5 years. I understood it as pertaining to Work/Education/Training Information as it falls under this section. So I have not travelled to any country in the last 5 years for work/education/training purposes. But I have travelled to the US on holiday 2 years ago. Should I have said YES or NO as it was not for work purposes? I said NO. If I need to change it, is it too late now to ask KCC to unlock my forms?
November 23, 2020 at 14:15
Unlock your form and correct it. You have time, so why not.
November 23, 2020 at 10:41
Hi!
I’m a selectee for the 2021 and I believe my case number is quite high from what your statistics tell, EU 33xxx, is this correct? However, for the past 10 years it seems like everyone in the EU category with a number close to mine got interviewed except for 2018. Do you know what happened that year?
Best regards
November 23, 2020 at 14:17
You are not wise to rely on numbers from previous years as the numbering (and more importantly, holes) are different year to year.
Your number is not bad, but math is only part of the story this year, COVID and the ban could have greater impacts. So – just wait and see what happens.
November 23, 2020 at 13:26
Hi Brit,
I am DV2020 winner and got my visa in September. Could you please tell me if Is it ok if I plan to travel in the first week of the January 2021 and buy the ticket now or is it better to wait until the end of the year and see, because there might be an extension of the proclamation?
Thank you,
November 23, 2020 at 14:18
You can decide what to do. If you buy a ticket now, just make sure it is changeable.
November 23, 2020 at 13:29
Hi;
I am in the process of the DV 2021 and had submitted the DS260 a few months ago at this point.
About 1 month ago – I changed my job and I am aware I can request the KCC to unlock the DS260 form, however do you feel it is necessary to go through the hassle of unlocking and resubmitting it?
Thanks in advance
November 23, 2020 at 14:19
Not for a job change, no.
November 23, 2020 at 14:13
Hello Brit,
Do you think AS157xx from Sri Lanka is a good number to proceed . Did not send DS 260 yet. Thank you!
November 23, 2020 at 21:08
I can’t be precise about that number range. A lot can change over the coming months.
November 23, 2020 at 21:20

November 23, 2020 at 15:46
Hi Brit,
I am a 2021 DV winner.
I submitted my DS-260 form in June 2020. I asked KCC to unlock my DS-260 form last week because I moved in a new place in septembre 2020. So for now, my DS-260 is unlocked.
I have planned to marry my partner around January / February 2021. When I submitted my entry for the 2021 DV Lottery program in October 2019, as we were not married at that time, my partner was not included as a spouse in my application.
Do you think :
1) I should wait to get married in January / February 2021 before re-submitting my DS-260 form ?
2) I should re-submit my DS-260 form now and request to un-lock it again in January / February 2021 once I get married ?
Thank you very much for your help
EU20K
November 23, 2020 at 20:20
Personally, I would wait to marry before resubmitting. But I would also be accelerating the marriage date.
November 24, 2020 at 12:38
Thank you for your advice.
I am making my best effort to move forward the marriage to mi-january.
Best regards,
EU20K
November 23, 2020 at 22:35
Dear Simon,, I made a mistake when sending the documents to kcc, when explaining why I renewed my passport I put differently the date of expiring passport.. example 02 meanwhile i put 20 to the explonation,,, Is that a problem? Should I resend a new email again to correct the date this time on the text message section? how many times are we allowed to send the email with the scanned documents?
November 23, 2020 at 22:48
Well I would have thought your problem is with the explanation only (which doesn’t matter) – but if not, resend the complete package of documents.
November 23, 2020 at 22:52
Hi Brit,
I hope you’re great.
I am writing to you as I’m really doubting on the answer I have given to the following:
On the section work/education/training (DS-260) it is stated the following question:
“Have you traveled to any countries/regions within the last five years?“
I have answered YES. I added Italy (I travelled one time for an interview and two more times as a tourist and then I have also added UK because I lived and worked there. Should I then modify the answer in regards to Italy? Not sure if I should correct something.
KCC has responded to my recent inquiry and in the email explains that my form DS-260 has been received and is being currently processing. They say I should allow several weeks for processing and wait until they send me the email to provide supporting documents. Considering this, is it necessary to unlock the form to correct the previous answer (if necessary) or it’s a bit tight time wise?
Secondly, should I start preparing the documentation (before they send me the notification to provide supporting documents for further processing)? My CN is EU21xxx.
Please let me know what you’d do in these two scenarios.
Many thanks in advance 🙂
Gala
November 23, 2020 at 22:56
1. It’s not tight timewise, but also your trips would not change the documentation needs because you have not stayed longer than 12 months – right? So – this isn’t a big deal.
2. You can start if you like, but don’t get stressed when the several weeks becomes longer.
November 24, 2020 at 07:26
Hi Brit, thanks a lot for your reply.
1) I lived in the UK for 4 years until June 2019. During that term I travelled to Italy 3 times. So, I did stayed longer than 12 months in England. I have reflected in the section “Previous Addresses” the different addresses I had there during those years. Having clarified this, do you consider I should correct my answer? If that’s the case, what’s best to answer in this case?
2) Thanks for that…I imagine it will take longer than expected. Patience.
Once again, I appreciate the prompt response.
Best,
Gala.
November 24, 2020 at 23:12
1. I’m not sure what you are asking. You will need a PC for the UK, but not Italy from what you have said.
November 29, 2020 at 19:12
Hi Brit,
OK, I’ll reformulate my question as I see it can lead into confusion.
This is about the question “Have you traveled to any countries/regions within the last five years?“. Since this pertains to the section Work/Education/Training and I responded as if I travelled generally (without work/education purposes), I am now doubting if my response is correct. Can you please let me know if my answers to this question are correct OR advice if I should unlock the form to change them if incorrect?
UK (I’ve added UK because I lived there 4 years until June 2019. As I lived there I’m not sure either if that’s now considered travelling)
Itally (I travelled there 3 times in the past 5 years, 2 times for tourism and 1 for an interview)
I travelled to the US in the past 5 years but I haven’t added it – I am not sure if I should add that on here (I think it didn’t give me the option to add it for what I remember)
What would you advice to respond to in this section? Should I change something before I get requested to submit supporting documentation?
Thanks in advance!!
November 29, 2020 at 19:31
Travelled pertains to “visits” to other countries (other than the country where you resided at the time). The visits can be for work or vacation. You didn’t “visit” the UK – you lived there, and that will show on your address history and work history.
November 29, 2020 at 20:41
Ok, all clear now – I’ll remove UK from the “travelling” and won’t add the US.
If I request KCC to unlock my DS-260 form does that implies delays in the processing? Thank you!
November 29, 2020 at 22:08
OK – now read the FAQ.
December 1, 2020 at 09:09
Hi Brit, I read the FAQ and watched the Unlocking/Upating video but it’s still unclear to me if it’s worth it to make the change (remove UK from the travelling list) as I see is a minor error. I know it’s better to be accurate so I’m willing to update it, but I am not sure if this correction/change can cause delay. In any case my case number isn’t current (EU21xxx) so would you advice to send the unlock request asap or it’s not worth to unlock for this type of inaccuracy? I now I’ve beenr reiterative with this but actually I can’t stop thinking about it so please give me some light…
Thanks so much one more time!
December 1, 2020 at 15:15
The the vieos and FAQs you say you read and watched I make clear that unlocking (done early enough) does not cause delay.
Please stop overthinking every single thing.
