Hello Simon, I am 2021 winner, case number AF10XXX, for three people, me, my spouse end child. but Process is so slow in my country, and there five other country who did they interview in my country (Senegal) and only 11 people have status ready. interview not sceduled for june too.
Can you tell me what i need do:
1- I have us b1/b2 visa, should i tavel to us to do AOS?
2- Should i wait from kcc 2NL email or get lawsuit?
3- Signing up for Curtis Morrison’s lawsuit. morrison lawsuit form ask us to give case number and confirmation number, is it safe to give?
4- Morrison lawsuit form ask me: Has your application already been transferred from kcc to your embassy?
yes
no
unsure
what is the good answer If On december 3, 2020 kcc sent to me : “Records indicate you have submitted a complete and valid DS-260 application for each family member, and you have provided all required documentation to the Kentucky Consular Center.”
And on december 7, 2020 kcc sent to me : “Congratulations! Our records indicate that your case is ready to be scheduled for an interview when your case number becomes current and appointments are available. Interviews are scheduled numerically based on region and which case numbers have already been processed.” And my status still mention: At NVC.
Thank you

1. How will you support yourself for several months while that goes through. It’s not a fast process and you must be careful to not apply in the first 90 days.
2. I posted a couple of days ago about the lawsuits.
3. Yes
4. No of course.
May 19, 2021 at 14:17
I have SA718 number, docs processed but not receive appoinment. KCC not reply my emails, what happens?
May 19, 2021 at 19:35
Everyone is waiting – look at my article from a few days ago.
May 19, 2021 at 15:27
Hello, I would like to ask a question regarding scanned documents. So, I am a winner of DV 2022 and I submitted my ds260 form one week ago. I read in your blog that it might take 4-5 months for processing it so it means KCC will not send me any email with a list of required documents. My question is, should I send them a list of documents via email even before they email me? I have a very low case number, I am in the very beginning so I am afraid that I will need to send them everything very early, otherwise my interview date will be prolonged. Thank you in advance
May 19, 2021 at 19:38
Wait a while – like 3 to 4 weeks – then send.
May 19, 2021 at 15:57
Hi Brit!
I have been selected for DV2022 and my number is EU5xxx. Does it have a positive impact for getting visa or not and also I have one denial from student visa but after it I got UK student Visa and still study at year 2. Does it have an impact for visa?
Many thanks!
May 19, 2021 at 19:39
No impacts.

Hi Simon, my wife is a dv2022 winner and I am her accompanying spouse (married 2018, I am a foreigner in her country, and we have over 10 years of relationship history to prove). Here are my questions:
1. We both reside in city X where she works. My employer address is in city Y. For the past 2 years, I work remotely from our home in city X most of the time, and about a week every month when I am needed at work, I stay in city Y at a friend’s place. I am placing city X as my present address, but I am not sure how to mention and explain the address in city Y. If I do not mention it, it might raise the question why my present and employer addresses are different, and if I include it in previous addresses, the dates will overlap with the current address.
2. For unemployment periods in the past, for example between my studies, is it necessary to explain the reason (e.g. applied for masters and scholarship), considering I was still in that country with student visa.
3. For social media, there is a page (sharing inspirational stuff) with multiple admins. Do I need to mention it?
4. Considering a case number, AS15XX, any idea when would be the interview?
I really appreciate your help
May 19, 2021 at 19:41
1. No need to list that other address.
2. No. It’s a visa application, not a career interview.
3. Doesn’t sound like social media.
4. No – it’s going to be a weird year.
May 20, 2021 at 10:18
Hello Britsimo I am DV 2020 Africa Liberia. We should still have hope on our interview or case ?
2. My interview was scheduled and I did my medical process all my documents now I think the embassy have me as dept because of my medical is the medical free the money I spend ? Please if you guys start the process please tell the judge to check on Liberia embassy to know if people getting there interview because the first case we won Liberia didn’t get one case approved.
May 20, 2021 at 20:34
1. We are still waiting for Judge Mehta.
2. I don’t understand what you are saying/asking.
May 19, 2021 at 17:36
Hi Brit,
If i transfer my case to another embassy, does that embassy percieve it as a new case to them and thus don’t priotise it or they handle it basing on the date documents were cleared by KCC
May 19, 2021 at 19:49
Transferring means the receiving embassy accept your case AND set an interview date – so your question isn’t relevant.
May 19, 2021 at 18:36
I think Biden administration is purposely reducing DV visas to balance number of visas per year because of thousands of unlawful immigrants crossing the southern border.
May 19, 2021 at 19:56
That makes no sense – but you are welcome to your opinion.
May 19, 2021 at 19:03
hello Simon
My name is Nick . My wife and my daughter won the dv 2022 lottery . My question to you is to let me know from your experience if we have chances according their numbers and when we have to submit the DS 260 form because I’m confused. do i have to wait after the 30 of sept 2021 or i can do it right know . We ‘re Canadiens i my wife my daughter and my son.
My wife’s number is 2022EU00022xxx and my daughter’s 2022EU00024xxx
we went to a lawyer and said to us that we don’t have any change since in 2021 they took only 18000 from Europe
thank you in advance you’re doing a very good job
May 19, 2021 at 20:01
The lawyer you spoke to doesn’t understand the DV process. In a normal year, those numbers would probably be good. This year could be more difficult because of the Covid impacts, so we have to wait and see what that will mean. It is also too soon to know how many people or cases there are in the DV2022 program, but I can tell you that there are not 21999 cases in front of case number 22000. The lawyer you spoke to didn’t even understand that.
You have EU numbers – how did that happen? You said you are Candians – so were you born in EU?
May 20, 2021 at 18:10
Hi Simon
All of us we re born in Greece that’s why
Could you please let me know when We have to submit the DS260 forms since we already have all the documents? Do we have to wait until the 1st of October 2021 or to wait the immigration office to send us an email to let us know when
Thank you
May 20, 2021 at 18:51
Hi Nick, you should submit ds260 as soon as possible. Then wait for sometime for the documents request email from kcc, or send them later on if they dont send the request.
May 21, 2021 at 02:47
The first step is submitting the DS260. You can do that now, but given your case number it won’t matter if you wait a couple more months. During that time, please read the FAQ, read my guide and understand how to process your case.
May 19, 2021 at 19:29
Hi, BritSimon and thank you for your patience,
Case number: 2022AF00029XXX
My passport expires in 3 months but i have a new passport. When completing the ds-260 form
which passport information do i include?
The new passport ? OR
The old passport i used to play the dv lottery in october 2020 which expires in 3 months?
May 19, 2021 at 20:19
You complete the DS260 with the new passport, and when sending documents or attending the interview you provide old and new passports.
May 19, 2021 at 19:41
Dear Simon,
I am a DV2022 lottery winner from Nepal. My case number is 2022AS00012XXX (more on 13000 side). However, I am currently in US on a H4 visa. How do I proceed further? Do I need to wait until my case number becomes current?
What are the chances of getting a second letter with a case number as high as this?
Thank you
May 19, 2021 at 20:21
Your case number is high. It is too early to know whether that means a long wait, or whether it is too high to get a chance. In a few months we will know more.
Don’t do anything for now. If you plan to adjust status you can only submit your I-485 package when your number is current in the VB – that will be a year from now at best.
May 20, 2021 at 18:54
Thank you so much for your response. So, I need to submit only I-485 package. Does this also mean that I do not need to submit DS-260?
May 21, 2021 at 02:51
The DS260 is optional for AOS cases. More info here:
https://forums.immigration.com/threads/dv-2022-aos-adjustment-of-status-only.344334
May 21, 2021 at 21:49
Thank you so much. You are a saviour!
May 19, 2021 at 19:43
I am Eritrean and i cant get passport because my country is communist country and also i cant get travel document because of the on going war in tigray in which the camps are destroyed which make it impossible to have a travel document…I have submitted required documents without passport giving a reason i am unable to get a passport because of regulation in my country will this affect me during the interview.
May 19, 2021 at 20:25
That should be OK.
May 20, 2021 at 16:32
Bro, i have the same case with you and i’m ethiopian, i’m yet to submit ds260 and documents, please let’s have connection so that we can help each other about the remaining steps.

May 19, 2021 at 19:56
Hi there. I’d sent this before but I think you missed it. Plus I have another question to add as well. This is the only place where I can get proper advice and info, so apologies for all the questions.
1) In relation to the Police Certificates (UK) – It states this should be obtained from ACRO (which is where I have sent request) but under the medical checklist it states ‘police certificate issued from ACPO. From what I can see the ACRO is the records office and the ACPO the association of Chief of Police. So basically, it’s just the one document I’m supposed to get. Can you please confirm this if you know as I just want to make sure.
2) We are requested to have immunization records but I’m not sure this will be able to be obtained for myself and my husband. Do you have any advice for this?
3) Also, I was wondering what the status is in relation the the health insurance. As far as I can see this is still on hold so is it something we can leave out at the moment or do you advise to still get this sorted prior to interview/arriving?
4) In relation to funding etc. We have a US citizen completing affidavit in support form. Will this be enough or will they also ask us to show our bank accounts and any savings we have? If so, how much do you think would be a good amount to show if we already have the affidavit and most likely a job offer as well?
5) I have a police certificate from where we were living previously. Both my husband and myself got one before coming to the UK. It is dated 28th or 29th of January 2018. However, we didn’t leave the country until 13th February 2018, so there is a gap of about 15 days. Is it necessary for us to request another police certificate even if we haven’t been back since leaving in Feb?
Thanks Simon.
May 19, 2021 at 23:52
1. It’s ACRO – but that is a unit within ACPO – hence the confusion. https://www.acro.police.uk/
2. That will be updated at the medical – they can administer any missing shots.
3. Not needed for the interview. But common sense says get insurance prior to arriving – the costs here are stupid. My wife had a trivial vertigo episode some years back, and we went to Emergency care (A&E). At the time I had excellent insurance, BUT they saw the Emergency room as “out of network” and charged us 10% of the overall cost. That 10% was $2500 – yep – three hours at A&E cost $25k. No ambulance, nothing fancy. 1 valium = $1000. NUTS.
4. The I-134 is enough but go extra prepared with statements if you like. $10k per person is a reasonable start.
5. Technically no. They will accept an out of date PC, if they are sure you haven’t been back there. BUT, for peace of mind you could just get a new one.
May 20, 2021 at 08:40
Thank you Simon. I can’t believe the health care costs. So expensive. I’ve been warned about this.
May 20, 2021 at 20:25
Yep – that is why health insurance is a “must have” here.
May 19, 2021 at 20:43
Dear Mr. Simon;
Would you please make a breakdown video of the process if you are a winner that temporary lives in the States with a non immigrant visa please. I watched the majority of your videos and read through the vlog and I could not find anything about adjustment of status and how it is different in comparison to the ones living in their hometown. Hopefully you would be able to make a video about the matter. Thank you so much.
May 19, 2021 at 23:53
I think I have something generic, but yeah I will work on a video.
May 20, 2021 at 14:39
Awesome thank you so much and I am looking forward for the video to be published. Again thank you for helping all of us through the process 🙂
May 19, 2021 at 21:07
Dear Simon,
Do you have information about Venezuelan passport? I mean venezuelan passports will be accepted expired?
May 20, 2021 at 00:43
Yes. I googled it…
https://2017-2021.state.gov/the-united-states-supports-extension-of-validity-for-venezuelan-passports/index.html#:~:text=Venezuelan%20passport%20holders%20who%20have,the%20traveler%20is%20otherwise%20admissible.
May 20, 2021 at 01:38
I have a question, my family passports are expired, so We can fill the DS-260 with expired date?
May 20, 2021 at 20:04
No – renew the passports, then complete the DS260
May 21, 2021 at 21:21
That is the problem…renew passport is complicated and lasts too much.
I think I have no chance to fill out form DS-260 before getting new passports for my family.
May 20, 2021 at 03:18
I am from Venezuela, I live in Colombia, my passport expired in 2019, and here in Colombia since 2019 there is no Venezuelan consulate, at the time of participating in the Lottery, and because it is impossible for the system to take the Application with my Expired Passport in 2019, take as an option that Venezuela is a Country taken by communists, however when I was preselected I read that for the United States Venezuela is NOT a Communist Country, since I did not put the correct information when filling out the form I would like to know your opinion if I continue or not with the process
May 20, 2021 at 20:08
Why do you keep asking the same question?

Dear Simon,
i’m DV 2022 winner , my case number 2022AF00057xxx .
in 2005 i was in france with expired visa , they arested me and send me to my home country.
in 2011 i was in spain , just vacation ,” regular sitaution” and back home.
Does it have an impact for visa?
May 20, 2021 at 19:58
It depends on the police certs from those two countries – and whether those show a persistent disregard for immigration laws (which could be considered moral turpitude).
May 20, 2021 at 00:42
Dear simon, Dv 2021 winner from Africa waiting for my interview… Can i attend my interview without medicals then after the interview, i will then go and do my medicals?
May 20, 2021 at 01:26
No, the medical goes first
May 20, 2021 at 20:02
Some embassies won’t allow that.
May 20, 2021 at 01:35
Hi Mr:Simon,
I have two questions
1.birth ceritificates of my mom and dad mention the birth place not the birth city.should I enter birth place instead of birth city?
2.I’ve got a bacholor degree.I’ve already mentioned on ds 260.should I include secondry school information in that section.?
TIA
May 20, 2021 at 20:03
1. Doesn’t matter – your choice.
2. Yes – all education from age 12.
May 20, 2021 at 03:38
Hello Sir,
Thank you for all you help and guidance.
I am currently living in the US on a G4 visa and have 2022 EU235xx case number. Given the high case number, will I have more chances to process through consular processing rater than AOS?
I am afraid that if I process through AOS my number will become current too late in 2022 and the AOS will take long time past september 2022.
Any advice?
Thank you!
May 20, 2021 at 20:10
It is far too soon to know just how high your case number is – wjhat the conditions will be by the time you are ready and so on. I suggest you wait a few months until we know better.
May 20, 2021 at 04:51
Hi BritSimon,
Please I’m finding it difficult to obtain one of my supporting documents for KCC, I know I will obtain it in a week or 2. All the other documents are ready. Can I send those that are ready and hope that by the time KCC sends an email to request for supporting documents, that 1 document will be ready then.
Either way, if I obtain that 1 documents before KCC request for the supporting documents, I will send all the documents again.
My case number is 2021 AF32***. A bit surprised though that CN is current according to May 2021 visa bulletin yet no email from KCC to request for documents. Anybody with case number range AF28000 to AF32000 who have received email from KCC requesting for documents?
I can see that my embassy is also open and working. Thank you
May 20, 2021 at 20:15
Sending an incomplete set of documents is a waste of time – and just adds confusion.
As you can see from my recent articles this year is a mess. You should probably consider joining the lawsuit.
May 20, 2021 at 06:44
Hi Simon,
I thought I already made this question but I can’t see it posted.
However, I am a DV22 winner and last Monday I submitted the DS260 form just for me, as I do not have any children and and I am not married… yet.
This is the point, I will get married in September and, most likely, my interview will be right after.
1. Could it raise an issue at the interview?
2. Should I send an email to KCC explaining the situation?
3. Can I (and should I) now add my fianceè as spouse?
4. If I get the visa, will he be able to get it too? And after how long?
Many thanks and kind regards,
Domenica
May 20, 2021 at 20:18
1. Possibly – but if its a real relationship that is irrelevant.
2. No
3. No
4. Yes both of you will be processed at the same time.
Please give your case number when asking questions as it gives me context.
May 23, 2021 at 18:35
Simon, I truly apologize for not having included my case number, which is 2022EU17XXX.
Me and my fianceè are in a relationship since 2016 and (as a proof?) our social media have thousands of photos together since then, so I am very relaxed about that.
However, just to be very clear:
1. If my interview is scheduled after my wedding, should I send to the KCC my marriage certificate and update them about my status, before I go to the interview?
1.1 Or should I just bring the marriage certificate at the interview and tell them I got married in the meanwhile?
2. Although this scenario is very unlikely to happen, if my interview is scheduled before my wedding, should I bring my marriage certificate at the interview and tell them that I got married in the meanwhile?
3. With respect to your last answer, if I don’t update the KCC about my marriage, how will me and my fianceè be processed together?
4. Based on your experience, is my case number high or low?
Apart from my questions, I really wanted to thank you for what you do. It is admirable.
Kind regards,
Domenica
May 23, 2021 at 19:21
This is all covered in the FAQ. You marry, change the DS260 and add a DS260 for the spouse, attend the interview together.
May 20, 2021 at 06:47
Hi Mr. Simon,
I have one important question;
I am a DV 2022 winner and my spouse is due to deliver a baby in October 2021. I filled in my spouse details during the entry. How do we handle the child.
May 20, 2021 at 20:19
You have plenty of time to read the FAQ which explains that…
May 20, 2021 at 09:04
Hi Simon, My husband and I applied for DV2020 together and we were put on AP and now we are waiting for the lawsuit to finalize. I will be travelling to the US next month for a job, so abandoning the DV application, but my husband doesnt need to travel until later in the year. If the judge grants reserved visas for DV2020 can he still get the visa even if I abandon mine? He is the primary applicant and im the dependent. Thanks in advance.
May 20, 2021 at 20:30
Your application will not be abandoned – if the Judge says visas can be issued your cases could be processed (assuming your AP completed). But yes, he could continue unaffected if you decided not to take your GC for some reason.
May 20, 2021 at 10:16
Hello
My case number is 2021AS27XXX
The location of the interview is the US Embassy in Jordan (Amman)
1- How can I find out information about the US embassies that conduct Lottery interviews and the number of interviews?
I read about many people who know information about a specific embassy without knowing where this information comes from and how they know it. I searched a lot and did not find the answer.
2- When applying for a visa on the CGI federal website, there is a page requesting information about the passport and the address in Jordan to send the passport if you got the visa and they also ask for the priority date
I searched and found information about the priority date for the family immigration visa and work, but I did not find the priority date for the diversity visa
What should I set the priority date?
May 20, 2021 at 20:32
1. savediversityvisa.org/daily-visa-statistics/
2. Case number.
May 20, 2021 at 10:25
Hi Simon,
I am wondering if its worth trying to contact any immigration journalists in the US to raise public awareness for DV2021 if we can get anyone to write about it…what do you think!
Have a nice day.
May 20, 2021 at 20:34
That has been done – there are news articles about the situation.
May 20, 2021 at 11:01
Hi Simon, my case number is 2022AF29XXX i am currently in Europe, Poland to be precise. According to the winners bulletin Poland has just 384 winners. My interview is scheduled to take place in US embassy in Warsaw Poland. Could my interview be scheduled earlier because of this regardless of my case number in the 29000s?
thanks in advance
May 20, 2021 at 20:36
No. Case numbers control the ordering – and its within the region, not country.
May 20, 2021 at 20:37
Poland takes also all the cases from Belarus and many from Ukraine. So it is not only “384 winners” ?
May 20, 2021 at 11:05
Hello Simon. My birth certificate was translated to English by an authorized translator 14 years ago. Nothing has changed about the information.
Do I need to get a newer translation or I can just submit the old one?
May 20, 2021 at 20:36
The old one should be OK.
May 20, 2021 at 11:45
Hi Simon,
I am a NZ citizen, currently work in the Middle East and spend my time off work in the USA where I have a rental property. I have been selected for DV2022 Case Number OC2XX.
Due to only having an ESTA visa I will have to go through CP and not be eligible for AOS. When I filled the DS260 I put my US address as my current address, will this be an issue when it comes to having an interview scheduled as I cannot interview in the US? I have an address I can use for NZ and that I think will be the best place to interview if I am able to get back to NZ for the interview, that is with all the COVID restrictions making it hard to get flights back.
Should I change my current address to my NZ address even though I haven’t been back to NZ in a few years? Or should I leave my US address and reschedule the interview for NZ when it comes to that time? Although I see that it is more complicated to have to reschedule according to your FAQ?
Kind regards,
Morgan
May 20, 2021 at 20:45
It was probablyu unwise to claim to be living in the USA when you have no legitimate status to be “residing” there and you must not have created any situation where you claimed to have residency (for example, on the lease). You must have selected an embassy when you completed the DS260. Did you select NZ?
May 20, 2021 at 12:06
I am a Ghanaian and was living in Ghana and DV 2021 selectee. I have sent all my documents to kcc after they requested for it. I now live and work in cote dvoire (Ivory coast) since April, 2021(a month ago). After relocating to Cote D’voire I unlocked my case and change my current to Cote d’voire. All the documents sent to kcc was obtained in Ghana since I was living in Ghana. I have sent a mail to KCC to schedule my interview in Cote D’voire since I now live and work there. Do i have to obtained a new police report from Cote D’voire and send it to kcc or the police report from Ghana I sent them is okay since my stay in cote Dvoire is less than 2 months?
May 20, 2021 at 20:46
You may not need a police report now, but you might need it at the interview if you get one.
May 21, 2021 at 06:53
Grateful for your concern. Thank you ?✔️
May 20, 2021 at 12:29
Hi Simon
Thanks for your efforts
I’m lucky DS 2022AS00011XXX winner, but i haven’t submitted my DS260 application yet because I’m waiting for my new passport which will take approximately another 10 days, i take advantage of this period to review my application just to be sure that it’s accurate and detailed and I’m learning more about the documents and application process during this period to avoid others mistakes
1- Should I be in hurry? And does this late submission effect my interview priority?
2- do you think my case number is high
3- after submission should i wait for KCC email asking for the documents or just send it without waiting for their email?
4- should i send both old(used in lottery) and new passports to KCC when sending the documents?
May 20, 2021 at 20:47
1. No
2. Not bad
3. Wait for a while – no need to rush.
4. Yes
May 20, 2021 at 12:53
Hi Simon, I’m from Russia, dv21 cn 4****. I went through the whole process and am waiting for an appointment for an interview. I have a question , theoretically, if I were currently in the United States, would I be able to change the venue of the interview from Moscow to the United States and have time to teach a green card before the end of the fiscal year? Thanks
May 20, 2021 at 23:47
Yes. If you could file today. However, if you have to come here and then wait the 90 days (DoS rule) then you would be at risk of timing out before September 30. So – if you are planning that you need to do that NOW.

Hello I am from Ghana
My case number is 2022AF6***
I got admission to study in the UK recently from September 2021-2022
Will traveling to the UK for my masters affect my case in anyway ?
May 22, 2021 at 00:09
No. But you would be able to choose to interview in the UK which is probably a good thing.

Hi Simon
I’m dv 2022 lottery winner I have file DS260 form I have doubt about my child she is currently 21 years 5months old. She was 20 plus when I was applying on 2020. Will she eligible for green card? Thank you sir
May 20, 2021 at 23:47
No – she will have aged out in the next couple of months – before processing for DV2022 even starts.
May 20, 2021 at 13:17
Can I send my inquiry to kcc from different email address which is not mentioned in ds260 ?
May 21, 2021 at 00:52
Yes
May 20, 2021 at 13:24
I keep getting log out of the DS260 form, is there a browser I should use or a time that works better?
eg I click no for a question and it takes me back to the page to enter my case number.
It also says Your request can not be processed at this time.
May 20, 2021 at 20:36
The same happens to me. But at the moment I opened for the first time I went for a lawyer support, but he entered the case number with all the ceros and now I’m worried that may affected my case.
May 21, 2021 at 00:52
Try different browsers. Try.

Dear Brit,
I have my interview on June 1st. So I have the following questions.
1 I have received an email from the embassy today stating that the passport should be valid for at least 6 months beyond the expiry of the visa, but at the travel.state.gov it states that passports should be valid for at least 6 months beyond the intended entry in the US. Which of the two is more correct?
2 should I renew my passport that expires on February 2022? Will this pose a problem during the interview?
May 21, 2021 at 00:53
Renew the passport. Take old and new to the interview.
May 20, 2021 at 14:36
Hi, Mr. Simon.
1. On your last visa bulletin post, mentioned that ‘’… KCC has reported that there are not enough “ready for scheduling” cases to use the remaining visas. That is only true because KCC have not processed enough documents, …’’ which means that ready for scheduling cases are mostly like to be interviewed, right? If yes, will remaining months until September this year be enough for KCC to schedule these cases.
2. Are we sure that cases are being scheduled based on case numbers rather than randomly? Though all regions are current, why there would be a chaos, since KCC is scheduling the cases due to the case numbers?
Thanks
May 21, 2021 at 01:21
1. At the pace KCC are going, there are too many cases already processed. They have about 13k cases (27K people) that are ready for scheduling. We have three months left, and KCC seems to be on track to schedule around 1000 cases per month. So – many cases that are already ready for scheduling will not get interviews.
2. The data shows the scheduled interviews. https://savediversityvisa.org/daily-visa-statistics/
May 20, 2021 at 14:53
“@TravelGov will begin hosting “Chats with Charlie” on our YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/user/TravelGov) to discuss information provided in the monthly Visa Bulletin. This month’s chat is scheduled to take place on May 24, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. EST to discuss the June Visa Bulletin. Questions can be emailed to [email protected] ahead of the event with “Chat with Charlie Question” in the subject line. Questions will also be taken via the YouTube Live Chat and will be answered in real-time. The event is intended to address issues of general interest related to the content of the Visa Bulletin, and no policy, case, or post specific questions will be accepted.”
Time for serious questions..
May 21, 2021 at 01:23
All regions are current – there is nothing the Charlie can say that is of any interest.

Hey Brit,
Had interview at consulate in late April and was approved by the CO that day and said I’d receive my passport and visa within 15 business day. My case, like others on here, stayed on Ready for about 3 weeks following the interview. I can now see other numbers under and around mine have changed to Issued this week. Mine instead changed to AP. Should I be worried?
Thanks.
May 21, 2021 at 01:23
Nope, just patient.
May 21, 2021 at 12:45
Hello,
I am in the same position, had the interview earlier this month and now in the third week of waiting and nothing is happening. My status is stuck on Ready. I guess change from Ready to AP could be a good sign, something is moving. Did you contact your embassy lately?
Regards.
May 21, 2021 at 17:13
Nah didn’t contact the consulate – figured they’re busy and it’ll come when it comes. Will call them late next week if nothing changes. I can see some other cases at my consulate that were stuck on Ready have also switched to AP. Hopefully next week!
May 22, 2021 at 00:21
I believe they are printing visas now.
May 22, 2021 at 09:26
That it a great news sir, thank you for your information.
Best regards.
May 24, 2021 at 20:23
Me too was in same situation, today it turned to Issued.
May 20, 2021 at 15:24
I won dv2022. case no AF35***, Unfortunately, at the time I fill the form I had no passport.
I tried to get one but the immigration office in my country was closed due to Covid19
and then I filled the form without a passport. I can provide a letter from the immigration office that proves it’s closing. Could you tell me how this could affect my case and what can I do to get a better chance?
May 21, 2021 at 01:24
There is a high chance of disqualification. The office being closed is not a justification.
May 20, 2021 at 16:02
Dear Mr Simon ,I am a DV 2021 selectee. As per you kind advise I submitted all the necessary documents without being requested to KCC. However ,I failed to send the police certificate of my 16 yrs old child .Asking your usual supportive comment .Thank you
May 21, 2021 at 01:25
Resend all the documents with the missing police cert.
May 20, 2021 at 16:58
Hi BritSimon
Thanks for the great work. Please i am a DV2021 selectee from Ghana, my wife is a DV2022 selectee also from Ghana. We have submitted the DS 260 form for DV2022. Please i want to if it can create a duplicate and make me get denied for DV2021 visa since my case is ready to be scheduled. Thank you
May 21, 2021 at 02:44
No problem.
May 20, 2021 at 19:27
Dear Simon, I have a question about the validity duration of the police certificate. I’m a DV 2022 selectee. My case number is 2022SA3XXX. I applied today for a police certificate in Saudi Arabia and will get it in two weeks from now. When I asked the Saudi officer about the validity of the certificate, he said it’s only valid for three months. However, I read on the DV lottery website that police certificates are valid for one year. Do I need to get another certificate after three months from now or will the one I will get is sufficient? Thanks for your help.
May 21, 2021 at 02:53
It will be acceptable for immigration purposes for 12 months.
May 20, 2021 at 19:56
Wlal I am one of the winners of dv lottery 2022 I have a problem when I was 1st filing I chose marriage instead of filling my wife’s data and I returned the information I submitted to my wife and I have the same information.
When I wanted to fill the DS-260 I and my wife’s position were listed as I had already filed the same data.
Brother, what is the solution to this challenge?
May 21, 2021 at 02:55
I don’t understand what you mean – be more clear.
May 20, 2021 at 20:37
Dear BritSimon, I got a new clean police certificate from my country few days ago which I am current in…
Actually, I worked around 5 years in one of the GCC countries and I came back to my country 12 years ago… for personal reasons I am unable now to get the police certificate from there… do you think it ends here or I should I wait something from the KCC.
May 21, 2021 at 02:58
I don’t know what you mean by GCC countries.
You have to provide police certs.
May 21, 2021 at 05:39
Dear BritSimon good day,
GCC means Arab Gulf Cooperation Council such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait etc…
As I mentioned above, I am currently unable to get the police certificate from there for some legal reasons (No crime, office or any criminal act). I have fulfilled all eligibility requirements except the PC, do you think it ends here…
Best egards,
May 22, 2021 at 00:03
So – I don’t know how they will handle that. Your personal reasons (now “legal reasons”) might be assumed to be the kind of thing they expect to see on police certs. But without following the process you are obviously risking your case.
May 20, 2021 at 20:42
Thank you for your work Simon,
I am a dv2021 winner and I was checking DS260 form / I have completed my DS in June 2020 and both me and my spouse are in status Ready (shouldn’t that be Completed?)
Second: After completing my DS260 I was asked to deliver scanned documents and they got Accepted in July 17 .
In October 2020 I asked KCC to unlock my DS so I can change my email to another one and I completed the DS in 17 October 2020 . In october 23 I received an email in the new Gmail I changed in DS260 : Case Number: 2021EU00006XXX
Dear AXXXXX
Congratulations! Our records indicate that your case is ready to be scheduled for an interview when your case number becomes current and appointments are available. Interviews are scheduled numerically based on region and which case numbers have already been processed.
On DS260 Application Confirmation the date of Completed on is : 17OCT2020 .Is this because I changed the email ? Should I resend the documents ?
May 21, 2021 at 03:00
1. The DS260 should show completed on the front page, yes.
2. Contact KCC and ask them.
May 21, 2021 at 09:54
Thank you for your response Simon.
What should I write to KCC ? Can you please help me
May 22, 2021 at 00:11
Use your own words.
May 20, 2021 at 20:42
Hi brit
Since the month is coming to an end I wanted to ask you what is the high CN you have seen for Oceania region. So far the highest I have seen is 2500. Do you think this can be the highest CN for Oceania for dv2022.
May 21, 2021 at 02:59
I saw the 2500 example too – so yes the actual highest number is likely to be just above that number and probably less than 3000.
May 20, 2021 at 20:58
Hi Mr. Simon, thanks for your tireless efforts In Dv lottery, we appreciate that.
I have a question and it is, My sister is Dv- 2022 selectee. She has a little problem in filling her DS260 form, particularly in names. While she was applying the Dv- lottery from the first time she made a mistake in her Surname. She has four names in her passport, but she only filled three names in the application form. So will there be a problem if she fills her correct name & surname in the DS260 form even if it is different from the one of the application form. Or shall she fill the same name as she applied. Can two names become surname e.g
JUAN MIGUEL FERNANDEZ GARCIA, can FERNANDEZ GARCIA become surname? In her case she mistakenly made her Surname FERNANDEZ instead of GARCIA.
N.B all other names are same only surnames will be diffenent if she fills with her DS260 form with the correct surname on her passport.
Thanks,
May 21, 2021 at 03:03
She should complete the DS260 with the full legal name.

Hi Brit, I have some questions regarding I-134 form:
1.- This form is only presented in physical format. It doesn’t fill online, is it?
2.- Could you please confirm to me if the process is as follow:
a) My sponsor fill the form
b) My sponsor send the form to me by DHL or Fedex
c) I bring the form to my interview
d) If the consular officer ask me for an sponsor, I would give him/her this form. If not won´t show it, will I?
Thanks for your help!!
Sofia
May 21, 2021 at 03:05
1. The sponsor can complete it online or download it. (and then scan for email)
2. All correct. You also need supporting documents – W2/1040, Payslips, Photo ID

May 21, 2021 at 03:06
It is far too soon to know.
May 20, 2021 at 21:30
Hello sir I will be very grateful if you answer the following question: in DS-260 there is the following question: Have you belonged to, contributed to or worked for any professional social or charitable organization? I am a student( higher education) at a Sports academy, and a National team athlete.
1. Do I have to indicate the National Sports Federation (which is a non-profit organization) as an Organization to which I belong. I do not have at this time an official contract, nor do I receive a salary from the organization (sports federacion).
2. To the question: List all the countries you have visited in the last 5 years, should I answer comprehensively, as they are over 25, which I have visited (for competitions and sports camps) or to list them all?
Is it ok that I have visited so many country?
3. The question: do you have another profession?
Do I have to answer “Yes” and describe that I am an athlete with long experience?
4. In wich occupation do you intend to work in the usa
Is it good to note “other” and to describe my sports experience and my desire to work and study in this field when I go to the United States Thank you very much!
May 21, 2021 at 03:07
1. If in doubt, list it.
2. Yes and yes.
3. Just be truthful, and stop overthinking.
4. Doesn’t really matter.
May 20, 2021 at 22:05
Hi my dear Brit. I hope you remember me. I am DV 2020. I received my visa just 2 days before the September 30th deadline. It was a crazy journey. And then I came in, but they delayed my green card and social security number. I am writing to inform I have just finally received my documents. It was nightmare for me, all this journey, proclamation, litigations…. But I made it. And I want to thank you for your great work. You are awesome, dear Brit. Your website was my relief whenever I wanted to check information, talk to you. I am so happy I found your page.
And I wish all the other applicants good luck. I know it’s hard guys, I suffered almost two years. At times I was afraid I lost the chance. It seemed very unfair to me. I won the lottery, but they didn’t schedule an appointment with me…. I know how you are feeling. But keep strong. And do the best you can. Sending love and hugs to my dear Brit Simon and all the applicants.
May 21, 2021 at 01:10
Hi sir Brit ,
My sister lives in Morocco and she got selected for DV22. My question is regarding: she went to Canada for studies in 2010 , she stayed there for a year and a half and got back to morocco due to health issues. Now she have to come up with a police certificate for her stay in canada or the certificate of good contact , but the problem is she lost all contacts in ,it has been 11 years and she even forgot what addresses she lived at. How can she get that certificate. And is it nessecary for her case , also is it more beneficial for her to just don’t mention that she was there since it’s hard for her to come up with doc8from Canada. Noting that after she went back to morocco she worked as a flight attendant and she also recently applied for visa to Europe for tourism and got it with no issues . What do you think sir? Thank you.
May 21, 2021 at 03:21
She should read and follow the instructions on the reciprocity page for Canada.
May 21, 2021 at 03:11
Thank you for letting me know you made it and got all sorted. Best of luck in your American story!
