H ello, I am the winner of 2022, I want to know if it can affect me in the interview that my husband has illegal relatives in the USA.
April 28, 2022 at 05:15
Makes no difference.
April 28, 2022 at 06:46
Hello Brit,
We’re the winners of the DV2022, our case is around 16.000, the interview embassy in Tashkent, recently received a second letter of verification of our DS-260 form “Your DS-260 has been processed.
Sorry, I said wrong: do we need to join the lawsuit so as not to be left without a green card?))
Thanks for your reply in advance.

You have to be more clear about your question.
April 28, 2022 at 08:53
Hi Brit,
I am 2020 winner with case number around 27000. I received the email that I have submitted all the required documents and are ready to be scheduled for interview in June 2020 and since then nothing. Do you think that I should contact now KCC or the embassy for the reserved visas?
May 1, 2022 at 09:54
Hello , please did they ask you to send your documents or you did it anyway ?
May 2, 2022 at 21:03
I received email requesting to submit the documents back then.
May 2, 2022 at 03:40
Nothing can be done until the appeal is decided.

Hello Brit Simon
I’m Iraqi 2022AS1998x . My Embassy of interview ANKARA, and my DS completed on 13 may 2021, but I unlocked my wife DS for birth-date correction on august 2021, did you think Its affect to late of interview scheduling?, for your information my case processed its in level 4 , and DQ, did you think i will get interview notification?
thanks for reply
May 2, 2022 at 03:41
I don’t have any way to predict what will happen in your specific case.
April 28, 2022 at 12:42
Hey Simon thank you for your effort , Do you what the difference DQOC and DOCC ?
or what each one is means ?
if i in DQOC how long it take to finish the processing ?
Thank in advance
May 2, 2022 at 03:44
I think DOCC is further along that DOCQ. The timing for the next step depends on the embassy capacity.
May 3, 2022 at 02:37
Sorry Simon English is not my native language I didn’t get it
“I think DOCC is further along that DOCQ”
May 3, 2022 at 15:56
Further along, meaning a stage further in the right direction.
May 7, 2022 at 04:45
Thank you so much Simon
April 28, 2022 at 13:56
Hi Brit
If I go to the US through DV without my family, how long will it take before they can join me?
May 2, 2022 at 03:44
At least 2 years.
April 28, 2022 at 14:42
Hello Simon,
thank you very much for your useful website.
I have a question for you: on the save diversity visa website, what does “Cases accepted by consular post” mean? I am looking at the Naples consulate, and yesterday I saw that they accepted 16 case, but there aren’t any 2NL and if I go on the statistic of the Naples consulate, nothing has changed in the number of approved or ready cases from the previous day.
Also, do you know how the Naples consulate is doing right now? I still haven’t received the 2NL and I have a CN 23***.
Thank you so much
May 2, 2022 at 03:46
The SDV website has accurate information. So – I’m not sure what else I can add.
April 28, 2022 at 15:08
Hello Brit
I’m dv 2022 winner with case number AF30kxxx
I’m to be current in April but I haven’t received email from KCC yet.
May 2, 2022 at 03:48
Just like many others…
April 28, 2022 at 16:34
Hi Brit, my CN is AS69XX from sri lanka and I have received my Interview appointment in May. I had my medical exam but my husband didn’t attend it since he has a serious medical condition. I am the principal applicant and I had the medical with my son. My husband isn’t in a state to travel to the United States at the moment since he is weak even though we applied and filled the ds 260 with his details. How should we explain this situation to the visa officer and Will this cause an issue for us in the visa interview.
May 2, 2022 at 03:50
You just explain the truth. I cannot predict what the outcome will be.
April 28, 2022 at 21:29
Hello Brit,
I am a DV2020 winner and did not make it through before FY. As I was and still am under Visa, I was able to file AOS. I had my interview early Sept 2020 but my case was not adjudicated by 9/30/22. Do you think my case is eligible to be recaptured somehow?
May 2, 2022 at 03:50
I don’t know. We will have to wait until the appeal is decided, and at that point you can try and push your case.
April 28, 2022 at 21:52
Hello Brit
I was interview last week and I was told by the consular to pickup my passport today and my CEAC data was updated Issued on the 26 April 2022. Today I was at the Embassy to pick-up my Visa but the lady who was issuing the visa told me to come back next week. Is there any problem
Can this happen in normal circumstances?
I’m abit worried although my CEAC information is still showing issued. (Your visa is prited……..)
May 2, 2022 at 03:51
Patience.
April 28, 2022 at 22:10
Hi Brit, case 24k. DQ’d 18th February, 2022.
Have tried everything I could to transfer my case to from Accra to PREGUE embassy but to no avail. I sent a message to Curtis and he said I am being treated unfairly so individual mandamus will be great option. Just need your opinion on this.
April 28, 2022 at 22:41
Hello Prince. Just curious coz I’m also a winner. How did you get DQd? Hasn’t the document submission been stopped by KCC since November?
May 2, 2022 at 03:52
DQ is a status and it is not dependent on the documents.
April 28, 2022 at 22:47
Hi Prince. Didn’t document submission get halted by KCC last November? How did you get DQd?
April 28, 2022 at 22:52
Once you receive ready for scheduling email it means you are DQ’d and the next thing is your 2nl. That is what Brit made me to understand.
April 28, 2022 at 23:17
Of course I submitted document before the procedure was canceled. I was following Brit’s instructions so I submitted document without being requested by KCC. Unfortunately or fortunately, the procedure was canceled. You have done nothing wrong. All you need to do is to write to KCC requesting for STATUS UPDATE or PROGRESS of your case number. Based on the request, if you are processed they will return your mail with “Ready for Scheduling” or “Allow Several Weeks”. Allow several weeks means your DS-260 is still not processed. If you receive READY FOR SCHEDULING feedback from KCC, you are in a good chance when your embassy is working. If your embassy is “shit” like Accra embassy you will be in limbo and you have to wait until it gets to your turn to receive your 2nd notification letter( interview appointment)
May 2, 2022 at 03:51
You need to decide for yourself.
April 28, 2022 at 22:36
Good evening Sir. I’m a DV winner. I had my 2nl tonight. On my DS260, I stated I wouldn’t be travelling with my newly born son (had him in October with my girlfriend). I however answered yes to him joining me later. He has been listed on my appointment as a beneficiary and I don’t intend travelling with him for the interview as it means I’ll have to go with him and his mother (as he’s only 6 months old), and the interview is scheduled in a different country I had transferred to. Please, how do I take him out of the appointment? Thank you.
April 29, 2022 at 18:10
No you don’t need to take your baby to the interview with you. If you have a kid, they list her/him as the beneficiary but If you do not plan for your baby to immigrate with you, they don’t need to be at the interview.
May 2, 2022 at 03:52
Just don’t take him to the medical/interview. You can email the embassy if you want to explain.
April 28, 2022 at 23:10
Hi Brit. Do I need to submit documents in order to be ready for scheduling? I believe submitting docs is not necessary anymore. I’m 2022 winner and so far all I’ve done is complete ds-260 form back in September. Since then, I didn’t receive anything from KCC. Please help me if I’m missing anything in the process.
May 2, 2022 at 03:54
You no longer have to send documents. You just wait, but be aware that many cases will miss out this year.
April 29, 2022 at 18:46
Hi Simon,
Would it be a good idea to try to change the interview location from Warsaw to some other (much better) European consulate and if it doesn’t work out then to try to go to the US and adjust status? Or they would’ve had some records already that I tried to change the embassy. Warsaw stopped at case no 13900 and there’s no movement since the beginning of March so it seems like there’s little chance they’ll get to 20k+. There were already 2 batches for May and June with lower cases so there are only 3 months left. Idk what would be the best option here. Waiting for our consulate at this point seems to be risky. What’s your opinion?
Thank you in advance
May 2, 2022 at 03:57
Everything is a mess. Take the action that you feel gives you the best chance.
May 4, 2022 at 17:20
If I wanted to change my location and I already notified KCC about it, will this be a problem later if I eventually decide to do the AOS? NVC is not the same as KCC but they might have access to the conversation with KCC. I might be wrong though. The problem is that not many embassies are willing to take additional cases and I’m kind of afraid that I’ll be left with nothing at the end. I consider the AOS as “the last chance” if it still was possible.
May 4, 2022 at 18:31
The problem is that you may be leaving it too late to move to AOS to preserve a reasonable chance of progressing that way.
April 29, 2022 at 19:34
Hi Simon, thanks for having you here.
With case number 2022as10xxx, I submitted my DS260 on September 3, 2021. Unlocked and resubmitted on 3rd November, as well as sent the documents few days later. Still no 2NL no DR, and the status, I check, shows at NVC. while the case numbers, higher than mine, already have received their 2nls. Now, do you suggest me to email KCC for an inquiry?
And do you think that I would ever receive my 2NL? If yes, how can I right for kcc to know about my case.
Thanks
May 2, 2022 at 03:58
I don’t know what will happen to your case, but it won’t hurt to chase KCC.
April 30, 2022 at 02:32
Hi, Simon.
One question please.
I was DV2021 winner but FY has ended without getting my 2N. Now i am waiting DV2023, if i got it can i fill DS260 much different info than my previous DS260, i mean do they still have what i have wrote in my DS260 within DV2021 FY.? I need to change some information, Because this year i have applied it with different nationality.
Thank you
May 2, 2022 at 04:01
They will be able to access your earlier form, yes.
May 1, 2022 at 04:11
Did you write to KCC requesting status of your case? KCC is never gonna write to you. They will send your 2nl to your mail address when you are scheduled. You should know the status of your case before expecting your 2nl (interview)
May 1, 2022 at 22:24
Hi Britsimon,
I am EU158xx and me and other AOSers are trying to understand what does happen, in case the regional quotas are reached by the time we will have the interview.
I’ve seen that the number of issued + ready has currently reached 13000 for EU.
I would think that, at this rate, by end of July they may reach 20000 (Issued + Ready) for EU.
1) What will then happen to the EU AOSers? Will it be game over?
2) Or, on, the other hand, the endgame is when the number of Issued visa reaches the regional quota?
3) What are the actual quotas per region? I’ve tried to find them out but I did not find solid info
Thank you for your help to all DV folks
Guma77
May 2, 2022 at 04:04
If the quota was exhausted then cases on AOS would be unable to process. However, I VERY much doubt they will max out.

Hi Brit Simon,
It’s been a pleasure to be part of this noble and Educational forum, I want to say a plenty thanks to you and your beautiful family for the inspiring words, guidance, advocating and fighting to see all Diversity visas succeed in achieving their dreams in the United State of America.
I got my visa and I’m preparing traveling.
Regards,
Stephan
May 2, 2022 at 14:13
Good luck!
May 2, 2022 at 10:09
Do you expect Egypt to accelerate its visa bulletin? Is this cable hold ?
May 2, 2022 at 14:13
I don’t know.
May 2, 2022 at 16:45
Hi simon
I had a better hope being interviewed during March when Addis Ababa’s US embassy released the first 66 2nl. But now they are releasing an average of 33 2nl’s per month and i am very frustrating about it. My question is Am i late to transfer my case now?
May 3, 2022 at 15:50
It may be difficult or even impossible to change embassies if you have already been allocated to that embassy.
May 2, 2022 at 17:29
Hi Simon, I have changed my role since submitting DS and I forgot to mention a two-month job I had in 2009 in the DS form. Might adding these at the interview cause an AP? I will have an important business trip 4 weeks after the interview and want to estimate odds of not getting passport on time.
May 3, 2022 at 15:51
No, those things will not cause a delay.
May 2, 2022 at 18:35
Hi Simon,
I had made a mistake about my travel hitory in DS260. Two weeks in Germany and France in 2019 missed. But 2017 travels (two countries) are properly included. Couldn’t tell about it in interview. Even before I could tell it, they said everything looks fine and interview finished. They even gave me ‘tentatively approved’ letter. I am in AP now. It seems to take around three weeks to get the ‘issued’ status in my country. My interview was 10 days ago. Shall I email embassy, saying about this mistake or not. Pls help. Since my passport is renewed these travel details are not in passport too.
May 3, 2022 at 15:54
Just be patient.
May 3, 2022 at 16:19
Thanks Simon. I have no words to express my gratitude for your service by this blog and videos.
May 3, 2022 at 04:11
Hi Brit
What are the news dv 2020 rererved visas in these days ?
When start the interview DV 2020?
I am DQ qualified, What I have to do now to get the interview as a one of reserved 9095 visas?
thx
May 3, 2022 at 15:57
The appeal is still being resolved, so I don’t expect any 2020 visas to be issued until after the end of September.
May 3, 2022 at 05:25
Dear Mr.Simon,
I follow all your videos and blog. Thanks to you I could get my green card in 2017. I have faced a big problem now. In 2018 I came to my country with a re-entry permit. But I could not return to US before the expiry date of re-entry permit due to pandemic. So I applied SB1- visa. But unfortunately it was rejected. My question is can I re-apply SB1-visa with more documents? Pls advise me to overcome this problem.
Thank you in advance.
May 3, 2022 at 15:58
I don’t know, so I suggest you discuss that with a lawyer. Good luck.
May 3, 2022 at 15:44
Dear Britsimon, I have a large family in Africa, many of whom used to apply for the lottery before, but have difficulty in obtaining a passport nowadays only for participation in the lottery. One of my nephews actually won in the last lottery without a passport, the last time it was possible, in DV-2020, but obviously didn´t get a chance at the end 🙁
Now I received information that the passport rule was overturned? But i also heard it could be implemented again, is that correct? How do you see the chances that a passport is needed or not in DV-24? Because i am now in a position to help financially. I could probably sponsor a few passports, but applications need to be made at least 3 months in advance, the sooner the better. However, it would be such a waste to apply for one if at the end it is not needed. That money would serve better for education and food in that case..
I know you cannot see into the future, but if you could make a wild guess: How likely is it in your opinion that a passport is need for participating this October? Any input is more than welcomed!! Thank you, Francisca
May 3, 2022 at 16:02
The passport rule was blocked because they did not give enough notice for public comment. So – they are getting close to the point when they would run out of time, so I think it is likely that it will NOT be re-implemented in time for DV2024 entry. That’s just my guess.
May 3, 2022 at 15:52
Hi Britsimon, i just wrote a lengthy post explaining why i would really need to know this for my family. But i don´t see it published. Sorry if this might appear a double post at the end. I keep it short, but the answer is quite important to me: Do you think a valid passport will be needed for DV-24 or not? Thank you so much! I know that it can be either way, but what do YOU think? THANKS!
May 3, 2022 at 16:06
I answered it. It just gets held until I approve it.
May 3, 2022 at 18:33
Hola Brit. Gracias
May 3, 2022 at 19:47
You can use the new one, but keep proof of the old one and have that available at the interview (if that happens).
May 4, 2022 at 07:49
Hi Brit
Please I have 3 questions
1. Is petitioner information on DS-260 applicable to DV applicants?
2. If I give only my highest level of education (university degree) When filling the ds260, is it ok or I have to give everything from high school?
3. If scheduled for interview, will my family be interviewed together or separately ? Thanks
May 4, 2022 at 18:19
1. No
2. Creating a complete history of secondary education (from around age 12) is what is preferred for principal selectees.
3. Together
May 4, 2022 at 13:17
Hello , Do you expect lawsuits to speed up appointments in Aout and September like last year?
May 4, 2022 at 18:20
Not really.
May 4, 2022 at 13:32
My case number is now current and I’m still waiting for 2NL as many others.
My DS-260 status is COMPLETED (submitted on Sep 20th, 2021), no changes at all are required to the form.
When I check the visa status, it says : At NVC
On the other hand, I have one area of concern about DS-260. It shows the EXPIRATION DATE is on April 30th, 2022 which is already past few days ago!
How can I update this date? or don’t need to do it? Please tell me what should I do.
May 4, 2022 at 18:29
The expiration date has nothing to do with your case, so don’t concern yourself about that.
May 6, 2022 at 15:20
Simon sir, my friend transferred from ethiopia to Kenya in February at that time he unintentionally updated his present address to Nairobi, kenya while he was in ethiopia thinking that he must update his address when transferring, he got his interview appointment and went to Nairobi Kenya on May, as his arrival differ from the stated present address date, does he has to request to correct his arrival date on interview day or is it normal and goes a head?
May 7, 2022 at 04:50
I don’t know if the CO will ask about that.
May 7, 2022 at 09:39
OK sir and if it happens to be asked what could he say?
May 7, 2022 at 13:39
The truth.
May 4, 2022 at 14:03
Hi Brits, please explain somethiing winners derrivates also count on the number of visas given for DV 2022?
May 4, 2022 at 18:29
Yes they do count toward the 55K
May 4, 2022 at 18:26
Dear Simon,
I had my interview in February when I was not current. My wife and my visas were approved after the interview. I am current this month, and the embassy has our passports for about a month. They didn’t issue our visas yet. How long does it take to have our visas issued?
Thanks,
Joshua.
May 4, 2022 at 18:32
I don’t know. The embassy will have to request visas to be re-allocated to your case, and that is bound to take time.
May 4, 2022 at 18:37
Last Friday, my case was updated to ‘ready’ on the CEAC page. Does that mean the visas are relocated? Can I do anything to help myself?
P.S.: You know me from the Telegram. You helped me to get my interview date in time…
May 4, 2022 at 19:09
The case switches in to ready sometimes, but we can’t always assume what that means (specifically). Knowing that a visa is reallocated, is something we cannot be sure of. But in the issuance process you would see switching from AP to ready and of course, issued.
May 4, 2022 at 19:16
So, is there anything I can do at this stage other than waiting?
Is it anyway possible that they do not issue our visas?
Thanks! Veel bedankt 😉
May 4, 2022 at 19:20
A nudge to the embassy (by email) wouldn’t hurt.
May 4, 2022 at 19:26
I did ask them with no answer yet. In two weeks, I also need my passport back for a business trip to ‘your’ country. Do you think it is wise to get the passport back if the visas are not issued in two weeks? Or should I cancel the trip? (I hope it is not too much thinking)
May 4, 2022 at 19:36
I would probably not have recommended to risk a trip given all that is going on with DV.
If I did have a trip planned, I would probably use that as a perceived/real deadline to push the embassy to act fast.
May 5, 2022 at 02:45
hi Simon thank you for all your effort , I’m from Jordan and one of the support document i should provide is Military Service Book , i have but it’s only coming with Arabic language .
is that ok or i should translate it ?
May 6, 2022 at 22:01
Translations are not needed if the document is in English *OR the official local language of the embassy*.
So – no need to translate if you interview in Jordan.
May 9, 2022 at 02:45
my interview location in suva can i translate any where or there is specific places for the embassy
May 9, 2022 at 02:58
Anywhere.
May 5, 2022 at 02:51
Hi Brit
I am a DV Lottery 2022 Winner. OC Number around the mid 1100s.
I have been current for a few months now.
I received a reply from KCC late Feb. Standard email. Your case is current for interview processing once interview date has been scheduled…….. What I understand its AV?.
My consulate is Auckland NZ.
They are conducting a very small amount of interviews each week around 3-4. I have been jumped by a couple of Sydney based people also with higher numbers. I contacted the consulate recently to see if there was any information on dates for an interview etc to see if I could possibly push things along. They just said your case is still with KCC contact them.
Contacted KCC to check things again and KCC sent that standard email again. Your case is current for interview processing once interview date has been scheduled ……
So I am in Limbo. Is there anything I can do to get out. What I know is SUVA FIJI have taken about half a dozen Sydney based people but the NZ Consulate is open so I am not sure I could transfer even for that.
Any suggestions would be amazing. I understand there is only July, August and September left for interviews?.
May 6, 2022 at 18:36
You could email the Suva embassy and just check if they could interview you….doesn’t hurt to try….
May 6, 2022 at 22:08
Very tough call. Suva has been extremely accommodating and if you want a “sure thing”, that is probably it. Having said that you could also ride it out and see if NZ gets sensible. If it were my case I would be contacting Suva, and once they say yes – forward that to KCC. I would be doing that now.
May 5, 2022 at 06:57
Hi Brit, I’m dv2022 winner (I’m the main applicant) My wife’s and daughter’s passports will expire in 2025 but we thought to renew them as it will be difficult to renew it if we get our visa and travel to USA. In DS 260 we entered the old pp numbers. Will it be a problem if we submit a new pp at the interview because we are renewing it before the end of passport validity period. Thanks.
May 6, 2022 at 22:24
No problem, but have the old passports at the interview just in case.
May 7, 2022 at 03:35
Thank you so much Brit. I actually posted another question yesterday.
What kind of questions they usually ask from self employed persons as I couldn’t find much interview stories of that category.
Thanks again.
May 7, 2022 at 04:53
The questions are the same. Your current job is not that important since you will be quitting it to move to America.
May 9, 2022 at 03:16
Thanks Brit! Really appreciate your support for everyone here.
May 5, 2022 at 11:10
I am an applicant of Diversity Visa lottery 2023. I have carefully read through 2023 DV instructions per the link below
https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/diversity-visa-program-entry/diversity-visa-instructions.html
I need a better clarification on the passport requirements for filling DS260. The passport I used in entering the DV lottery will expire in January 2023 so I have applied for a new one of which Ghana passport office is yet to process.
Can I still use the yet to expire passport to complete DS260 while I await the new one and present the new one during my interview at the embassy without having to unlock DS260 and correct the change in passport information?
My doubt is in what becomes of an application once the passport in the submitted DS260 expires before interview is scheduled at the embassy.
Thank You.
May 6, 2022 at 22:26
This isn’t the problem you think it is – but first you have to win the lottery.
May 5, 2022 at 14:18
Hi Brit
I am a DV2022 selectee. I recently came to US and want to pursue AOS. Can you please suggest any law firm to help my case.
Thanks

Hi Simon,
My processing is done in Dublin, Ireland. My interview has been scheduled for 23rd June. As soon as I received my 2NL I have contacted the only place that does the medical examinations here and they booked me for the earliest appointment they had, which is 13th July. Do I go to the interview without my medical exam results and bring it later or do I try to reschedule my appointment to a later date?
Thanks!

Attend the interview and follow up with the medical.

Hi Brit,
I am scheduled for interview on May 25th. I have question about eligibility through work experience and the documents needed to show at the time of interview. Do you provide private consultation to discuss my special case?
May 6, 2022 at 22:43
You really shouldn’t need a private consultation, and I don’t offer them. Every case is different but simply showing career progression to the correct level, and establishing the timeline should be enough.

Dear Brit!
I have a question about the DV Lottery. If someone passes the interview and gets the temporary visa in the passport, would it be possible to travel to the States to start the process with the SSN and green card and return to the home country for the waiting period? Because without SSN and an actual green card there’s not many things to do for example: rent an apartment, get a job, get a car…or am I wrong?

You are free to leave immediately, but actually you can start work immediately too.

Hello Mr Simon I applied for Visitor visa on November 2019 my visa was refused. I filled out the DS160 in the travel agency they made a mistake in my University name in the DS160 form. I filled out my DS260 from by myself and I corrected the mistakes.will my previous DS 160 can make any negative affect prior my DV22 interview. If yes what is your recommendation give me some advice.
Thank you for your response

Unlikely to affect you UNLESS you were suspected on being dishonest.

Hi Simon,
Thank you for all the great work you’re doing for all of us.
I first came to the States for 8 days in Oct 2021 to endorse my visa while I was still living and working in the U.K. I quit my U.K. job in January of this year and finally moved to the States.
If I understand that correctly I became a US resident back in October when I came to endorse my visa, so I have to file the FBAR report for the 3 months of 2021 as well as to file taxes for my income I was getting in the U.K. from Oct thru Dec, correct?
I did complete the FBAR report, but I can’t figure out which form to use for the foreign income as none of them seem to fit my circumstances.
Do you have any experience with this? Thanks
May 6, 2022 at 22:47
Yes you need to file taxes for 2021. That probably means reporting rather than having to pay extra taxes since there is a foreign income exclusion. As for tax, I’m not a tax expert – but you should speak to one asap to make certain you don’t miss the tax report.

Hello Brit
We did the interview at first of march. Our passports are in the embassy for more than two months.
In the interview, CO told us, your high school diploma is different than usual so we have to ask about it. Have you ever seen such a situation before?
What do you think? are we going to be denied most probably?
Is it called administrative processing of my situation?
Any one do you know who got the visa after administrative processing?
Thank you

Yes if your high school is genuine yes. Usually in west Africa people use to provide fake diploma.

Some cases get approved after AP, of course. I really don’t have any way to predict the outcome in your case.

Hi Simon, I am 2022AS4XXX, living in Sydney. How can I join a Law Suit with Jesse Bless? Thanks
May 7, 2022 at 04:48
It is too late to join his lawsuit, but if you are waiting for Sydney embassy you may be better seeing if Suva embassy will take your case.

Thank you for the answer.
Sorry, what does AP mean?
Diploma is Genuine. The high school is a kind of distance learning for adults ( open education high school) , the examinations were held in the schools under the observation of the teachers. The school finished as passing all the exams in three years. But 3 semesters a year. There were no summer break. It is equivalent to 4 years of education. In total 9 semesters.
So, isn’t this an eligible diploma?

AP is administrative processing.
From what you are saying the education may not meet the requirement.

But I researched about the open education high school program of Turkey before. It is valid in US. One can continue to university with the open education high school diploma. Isn’t it the condition for an high school diploma to be eligible in DV. During AP, is this investigated by CO?

If they go by the wording of their guidance, they expect a formal course of secondary education.

Hello Brit,
I’m a DV 2020 Gomez plaintiff. I would like to know the status of meng amendment whether it’s still on course or stalled forever in the Senate.
Thank you Sir, we appreciate the good you’re doing to DV candidates.

There is no forward movement on the Meng amendments.

HI Brit,
I am winta from Ethiopia , My case number is just 14k, I have been current from February, but it says at NVC. I email kcc many times and I get this email “Your case number is now current for interview processing. Once the interview date has been scheduled, you will receive notification via email to check https://dvprogram.state.gov. If you need to make changes to your DS-260 you should contact the consular section where you will be interviewed, or bring the information about your changes to your interview appointment. Because your case is ready to be scheduled, KCC can no longer unlock your application.”
Is this mean it is ready kindly advise.

This email comes when your case is “actively” being scheduled. It’s a special point in time. If your embassy is working, and has capacity for your case, you can expect a 2NL within the next couple of weeks. However, if your embassy is NOT working you can be in a kind of limbo. At this point you cannot make any changes, because KCC has allocated the case to your embassy, but not sent it to the embassy yet. If the embassy does not have full capacity, and there are more cases in front of you than they can interview in the month, then your interview will be pushed to a later month.

Thank you a lot Mr.Brit, this email has been a delimma since a while. But its clear now.The embassy is working wiith a moderate capacity, Do you think I have a chance to be interviewed in the coming months as my case is AF14k and DS submitted in August. I really appreciate your help though.

I don’t know.
May 6, 2022 at 22:11
Hmmm, that is a little risky. It really depends on the CO. The rules (guidance notes for COs to be more precise) were updated a few years ago to help COs take higher degrees to overcome concerns about lack of “a formal course of study”. But from time to time I hear of COs being stubborn. You might want to consider work experience also, and if you meet the work experience requirement, give some thought into how to prove/present your case based on experience.

Fingers crossed for you.
