Hello Brit I am a DV 2020, I am already in the USA with my family. I wish to thank you for all the support you gave me during our DV application. It was a very complicated year due to the covid 19. I am writing to verify from you if there is a decision from the government about the approved on unused green cards of 2020 that were affected by the covid 19 pandemic. I am asking because I received an email yesterday telling me to fill form DS-230 and submit. That the government want to issue those green cards that were approved in 2020 and were never used. The email says the deadline to submit the completed form is February 03 2023.
February 3, 2023 at 13:30
That sounds very suspicious. That form is no longer used, so it sounds like a scam.
February 5, 2023 at 10:19
Right now, your video that I have watched on your YouTube channel and the explanation that you have given it means my Case Number which is AF7*** in ave queue and there’s nothing I can do about it. I I I I can only hope that God will help me. BritSimon looking at my Case Number is there chance of me an interview before September 2023.

Hello Simon
i have a question
My cousin has American citizenship, and she wants to send me fiance visa, And she lives in Michigan, And there is a law prohibiting consanguineous marriage,Is this visa successful at the Egyptian embassy? We are Muslims and this marriage is normal, And what about Michigan law ? And if there is a problem, what is the solution?
Thank you Simon…

I only answer DV lottery questions.

Thanks anyway

Requirement #2: Each DV applicant must meet the education/work experience requirement of the DV program by having either: • at least a high school education or its equivalent, defined as successful completion of a 12-year course of formal elementary and secondary education;
please clarify the above- mean successfully completed 12 years OR successfully completed 12 with passed the high school subjects
February 3, 2023 at 13:33
It is up to the embassies to set that requirement, as appropriate for their country. Generally, simple attendance for 12 years is NOT the standard, they are looking for successful completion – meaning passing grades, typically.
January 31, 2023 at 07:25
Hello! What is the validity of the documents (such as police certificate o birth certificate)? 1 year? And, do they need “apostille” or a simple translation is enough?
Thank you!
February 3, 2023 at 13:50
Police certs are valid for 2 years.
Other requirements such as apostille vary by country.
January 31, 2023 at 14:43
Hello BritSimon,
While entering the DV lottery, I chose the high school as my highest level of education completed. I got my degree later, unlocked the DS 260, and updated it with my degree. Do you think I should have chosen the option “some degree courses” instead of high school and can that cause a denial?
Thanks in advance.
February 3, 2023 at 13:51
It doesn’t matter.
January 31, 2023 at 22:34
Good evening Mr. Simon,
I want to thank you for clarifying the I-34 form,
I have two questions for you. 1) Based on my low income, Can I have a friend, or brother and sister Co-sponsor with me if we want to sponsor more beneficiaries? if so, how?
2) is the poverty guidelines 2023 amount the same for military. I am a family of 5?
February 3, 2023 at 13:52
1. No – 3 poor people is not better than 1 poor person.
2. As far as I know, yes.
January 31, 2023 at 23:03
Hi Brit
I applied for the Dv 2023 lottery and won, but I selected one of the 3 exemption out of ignorance, I’m currently scheduled for interview
Am I going to be denied even though the passport requirement has been ruled out?
I already had a passport that I used to apply when filling the DS-260 form
February 3, 2023 at 13:53
They cannot deny based on the passport rule.
February 6, 2023 at 10:55
Hello Simon,
Is there any way to identify how many cases are in the AV queue for a particular embassy for a given case number interval? CEAC data dump shows “None” for the consulate it seems for the ones that are not scheduled. Based on the information provided in your recent videos, it appears to me that the embassy in Colombo Sri Lanka has built up a serious queue. They have scheduled up to CN 7234 where the region is at 18750 and gave only 47 interviews for March. If we have the same ratio of cases from AS1 to AS 7234, there will be around 150 cases more to be scheduled before me in the AV queue to reach my number which is AS176XX. If they run 50 interviews per month like they did for March, the earliest possible interview could be June ☹ Do you think the rest of the Asia countries will use up the Asia quote before the end of June or July? Sri Lanka has 2019 selectees and at the half way mark, only 244 people got scheduled.
February 7, 2023 at 18:36
here is not a more precise method than the sort of estimate you have done.
Quotas are never used up until August/September.

Hello

So whats going on ?
Thank you in advance
February 3, 2023 at 13:53
Still waiting for the appeal outcome. There is no way to rush that, or predict when it will come.
February 1, 2023 at 05:08
Dear Brit, Since the medical panel is not appointed and the embassy cannot let us know when it will be established in Singapore – I am wondering if we can request for the interview be transferred to USA? We have B1-B2 visa and can travel to USA and do the medical and have the medical there. Do you think this is possible at all please? We are DV winners from AS20237xxx. Thanks so so much.
February 3, 2023 at 13:54
No – that is a completely different process.
February 1, 2023 at 06:57
Hi Simon,
My wife is one of the selected applicants for 2023 and We submitted our DS260 in September 2022. Her Case number is in the 5k range for Asia and got currented in January 2023. But we didn’t receive any email from KCC for the next steps yet.
1.When can we expect and email from KCC?
2.or do we need to contact KCC on this?
Thank you In advance
February 3, 2023 at 13:54
You submitted late, and that is most likely why you are still waiting. Patience.
February 1, 2023 at 08:22
hello sir,
i’m a dv23 winner my case number is AF16k and i submetted my DS-260 on mai 12 , but on june the KCC sent me an email said that i’m residing in the US and i applied for adjustment of status whit USCIS.
on august i replied to them (kcc) that i didn’t do any of this and i live in my own country.
the replied to me that my interview location has been changed form Adjustment of status to the US embassy in my country, i thought the problem was fixed but till this day my case is not processed yet .
do i need to send an email to the embassy inquiring about my case ?
thnks.
February 3, 2023 at 14:52
The embassy cannot help – they don’t know anything about you until you are scheduled for interview. You can check again with KCC at some point, to see if your case is processed.
February 1, 2023 at 18:46
Hello
Just to inform you a friend received his 2NLS( March 8,2023).
February 1, 2023 at 23:27
Hello ! Please I need help with my inquiry. I’m a 2019 Dv owner, The problem is when I submit my DS-260 in 2019 there was a mistake in to my parents birthday (the month and the day) but on the interview day I asked the consular to correct it for me. The issue is I don’t know if she did it or not . Now I want start a visa process for my mum but I don’t know which date of birth I have to put. The birthday that I had wrote in the first time in my DS-260 or that I asked to be changed?
February 3, 2023 at 14:52
Complete the forms with the accurate birth date.
February 2, 2023 at 01:25
Hello Brit,
Sorry this question is more to do with medical examinations but I really have no idea.
I am 30 years of age.
As per medical requirement in USA immigration following vaccination are required but they don’t mention which vaccines for particular age group.
For 30 year old single applicant which vaccines is mandatory out of the mentioned below:
1-Rotavirus
2-hib haemophilus influenza type B
3- hepatitis A
4- hepatitis B
5-meningococcal
6- Varicella
7- Pneumococcal
8- influenza
February 3, 2023 at 14:53
The physician will decide what is required based on the vaccination programs in your country, time of year and so on.
February 3, 2023 at 13:41
Hi Sir Simon,
I would like to ask you, what can be my chance to have an interview for DV2023 vith case number Af62000 at the Ankara embassy or to another one?
I am from Guinea but I am living in Turkey.
Please, give all options and thank you.
February 3, 2023 at 14:57
That is a very high number, and therefore risky at any embassy. Other than that, I can’t predict the chances.
February 3, 2023 at 13:48
Hi Simon,
I have recently correct a name discrepancy in my passport and had to get a new passport. But I did not unlock my 260 and update new name change and passport number as my case(4xxx) is already current and very close to get the interview, most probably on April 2023. Is that ok?
Thanks.
February 3, 2023 at 14:58
As long as the name in the DS260 matches the name in the passport (and therefore the birth cert), no problem.
February 3, 2023 at 21:13
Now my name after the correction in the new passport(and birth cert) does not match with DS260. But name in the DS260 matches with old passport name. Since my case(4xx) is so close to the interview, is that ok to tell that at the interview or do i need to unlock DS260 and update now?
February 4, 2023 at 20:15
You can decide what you think is safer.
February 4, 2023 at 01:25
Hi Simon,
I am unable to unlock my ds260 as it is current and it is still at KCC. Is it possible to unlock my ds260 as soon as it reaches the embassy before the interview.
Thank you for your continuous support.
February 4, 2023 at 21:59
Thanks for the reply.
February 4, 2023 at 04:37
Hello Simon . Can a person go to AP/Refusal because their Visa number has not been sent to the Embassy?
NB: After having approved the visa During my interview. At 3 p.m. local time I received an email from the embassy asking me to fill out the DS5535. And my status changed to Refused
February 4, 2023 at 20:16
So you will be in 221(g) status while the DS5535 is processed.
February 5, 2023 at 04:29
the consular agent had approved me the Visa. and the same day I received this email. In your opinion, what could be the basis of this provisional refusal?
February 5, 2023 at 09:49
To get the DS5535 information – additional background checking with a more complete history.
February 4, 2023 at 09:48
Hello Simon,
My daughter who is my derivative turned 21 one month ago and our interview is scheduled mid March 23.
I understand that she should benefit from the CSPA, but:
1. do I need to let the Embassy know ahead of our interview ?
2. does she need to file a specific petition or is it automatic at the time of our interview ?
Many thanks
February 4, 2023 at 20:18
1. No harm in doing that – but go prepared as explained in the article below.
2. Automatic, as long as the CO understands the way it works.

February 4, 2023 at 12:02
Hello BritSimon
My case is about 14700 Asian and I am from Iran.
Currently, my embassy is Ankara.
What do you think is the best embassy for me? (Abu Dhabi, Yerevan, Dushanbe) or other embassies?
I guess Abu Dhabi is better for me (of course, if we consider the Persian language as well)
We are a family of 4 and I completed form 260 on May 15.
I will be happy to guide me.
Thank you very much for your time
February 4, 2023 at 20:19
I cannot predict or advise what will be best for you. That is a decision you must make for yourself.
February 4, 2023 at 21:54
Thank you
I just want to know your opinion
I will make the final decision myself
What do you think about the current situation?
Good luck
February 5, 2023 at 09:42
You have my answer.
February 4, 2023 at 15:47
Hi Brit,
Thank you for all the information you are providing here. I am happy that I made it. I got my green card and a good job here in Florida. I enjoy my new life here.
I still have an immigration related question you may be able to help me. Currently I live in a very expensive furnished apartment and my lease will expire soon. I don’t want to renew since I have credit and a job now. Basically I can find more permanent places and purchase my own furniture. In the long run I will pay less.
Now when my lease expires I plan to go to latin America for a whole month and work from there remotely. Once back I will move into a new apartment.
1) Can I do that with my green card and return without having a place to live in the US while away? Or do I need to maintain a place to live while I am abroad?
2) I clearly plan to return and will also keep my job.
3) How do I do this with the mail and post office?
4) Do I need to change my address with USCIS while abroad or only after coming back and once I know my new address?
5) Any immigration related risks of doing this?
Thank you!
February 4, 2023 at 20:15
1. No need to maintain the apartment for such a short absence.
3. Ask them.
4. Just when you get the new address.
5. No.
February 4, 2023 at 15:49
Hi Brit,
Are green card holders allowed to travel to Cuba for leisure / tourism? For example via Mexico or is it not allowed?
February 4, 2023 at 20:13
I don’t know.
February 4, 2023 at 22:57
Hi Simon,
Thank you for all the help you provide by answering our questions.
Our Case Number: 2023AS6###
Chargeability Country: Sri Lanka
Interview Location: Abu Dhabi
We inquired from KCC about the status of our case and they replied to us,
“Your case number is now current for interview processing. Once the interview date has been scheduled, you will receive notification via email to check https://dvprogram.state.gov. If you need to make changes to your DS-260 you should contact the consular section where you will be interviewed, or bring the information about your changes to your interview appointment. Because your case is ready to be scheduled, KCC can no longer unlock your application.”
However, we have not yet received our 2NL. Is that something we should worry about?
February 5, 2023 at 00:42
After posting this question, we watched both of your recent YouTube videos. Thank you for all the information. After checking all the details we still cannot get a proper idea when we will be scheduled for an interview or are we at risk. For your information, we initially submitted our DS260 in May, unlocked it and resubmitted on 5th July.
1. Therefore, can you kindly share your opinion and if there is any advice.
2. Do embassies send 2NLs throughout the month or only on specific dates?
Thank you.
February 5, 2023 at 09:47
1. The video is the best answer I can give. You can apply the dates you know and figure out your likely position.
2. KCC send the 2NLs throughout the latter half of the month. Each embassy tends to get one batch of 2NLs per month.
February 5, 2023 at 09:43
So you are in the “AV queue” for that embassy – you should watch this video to understand what that will mean.

Hi sir am Jacob from ghana.a dv 2023 winner.and by case is Af26***. Still no 2nl yet. why?

February 5, 2023 at 04:57
Hi Simon,
First, thank you so much for everything you did for me and for all the DV winners across the world. I followed every step you recommended starting from how to feel DS260 up to interview. But, you have so little videos on what to do after the interview. Since you are our trusted source of information please make some video about that. I have one question to ask. I am planning to move to US a bit late so I want to know what will happen if my visa expires after I moved to USA but before I received my green card. Can I stay in US with an expired visa while waiting for my green card?
February 5, 2023 at 09:50
Yes – the entry into the USA must be before the expiry date. Once you enter your visa is “endorsed” and that visa then serves as your proof of status for up to 1 year. Before that one year is over you will have your Greencard.
February 5, 2023 at 08:34
Hello Brit!
I won GC 2023, I’m from Ukraine and currently in the USA. Got to the USA with “parole” on the program U4U. I’m waiting for the interview in Frankfurt. My question is – can I make an interview somewhere in the USA or somewhere closer?
Thank you for your help!
February 5, 2023 at 09:54
If you have legal status in the USA (and I don’t know if U4U qualifies) then you could switch to adjustment of status. Given your status you should probably discuss that with a lawyer – Jesse Bless is fully DV aware – http://www.blesslitigation.com
February 5, 2023 at 10:37
Hi Simon,
as supporting documents for the I-134 form in the instructions published at “https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/forms/i-134instr.pdf” it says:
1. Statement from an officer of the bank or other financial institutions with deposits, identifying the following details
regarding the account:
A. Date account opened;
B. Total amount deposited for the past year; and
C. Present balance.
2. Statement(s) from your employer on business stationery showing:
A. Date and nature of employment;
B. Salary paid; and
C. Whether the position is temporary or permanent.
1. Copy of last U.S. federal income tax return filed (tax transcript); or
2. List containing serial numbers and denominations of bonds and name of record owner(s).
My question, are those documents necessary or is it enough: 1040 or W2, Recent Payslips and Photo ID?
Thanks
February 7, 2023 at 18:27
1040 or W2, Recent Payslips and Photo ID
February 5, 2023 at 11:06
Hi Simon
if i a dv winner from cuba but my case is not ready yet, what happens if i get a humanitarian parole for cubans. can i adjust my status when my case number get current. and how long can last that process.
Thanks
February 7, 2023 at 18:28
I suggest you discuss that with a competent lawyer.
February 5, 2023 at 11:47
Hi Simon,
Thanks for the work you do. What is the name of a Telegram channel you mentioned in your today’s live QA?
Thanks!

February 6, 2023 at 02:55
Hello dear I hope you are doing well
Just to ask if it is a good idea to change the embassy where I am suppose do my interview(Nairobi) to another one (Dar Es Salaam) because it seems like the embassy of Kenya has many cases while in Tanzania there are few
Thanks for answering me
February 7, 2023 at 18:34
If you can change, yes.
February 6, 2023 at 03:44
Dear Simon,
I just watched “DV Lottery | Embassy queues and how to tell if YOUR embassy is working well”, great one, as always. I have question regarding to changing you interview embassy. You mentioned that we should change the residency address on DS-260 first, then request changing the interview location later. My case is this, I am a Taiwan citizen, my parents still live there, I live in Thailand now. Of course, my currently address is in Thailand. Can I simply send email to KCC requesting that I would like to go back to my home country for interview? Or I still need to “move back” to my home country then, request later? Thank you in advance.
February 7, 2023 at 18:35
The safest way is to move first, otherwise they may see it as “embassy shopping”.
February 8, 2023 at 02:03
When we say move, does that mean I report my current address on DS260 back to my home country? Or I need to relocate my family physically back as well. Since I am the citizen of my country, I can establish my address on paper easily, by reporting to my hometown house registration. But I do not reside there. In this situation, can I put my current address in my hometown with “moving”? I have no problem going back my hometown to do the medical exam and interview.
February 8, 2023 at 10:22
You must decide. KCC look at the current address, first and foremost.
February 6, 2023 at 13:07
HI BritSimon
I am 2023AS4K from Sri Lanka but submitted DS260 very late. However KCC confirmed on Jan 28th that my DS260 is processed.
This is what I got from KCC.
“Your DS-260 has been processed. Interviews are scheduled numerically based on case numbers that have completed processing. ”
However watching your video on embassy status, I see that Colombo has only sent 2NL till 8000 even though for AS region 15K is current for Feb 2023. (therefore colombo is not doing so well I believe)
When I check my status in CEAC, it still says NVC, as per your explanation it means I am not scheduled yet.
1. Since my DS 260 is processed in Jan 2023 and I am current for Jan 2023, does it mean that I can expect my 2NL in at least Feb or March?
2. As you said once you are allocated to an embassy, you cannot jump ahead the queue based on your case number. However before being allocated to the embassy, do I get priority as my CN is low?
3. is there a way to find how many cases infront of me in a particular embassy using the data in the site?
4. What will my next CEAC status be? Is it going to be ‘In Transit’ or ‘Ready’?
5. Based on the reply from KCC, am I on ‘AV status’ now?
Apologies if I asked un-answerable/basid questions, please clarify if possible.
Thank you so much for your invaluable advice
February 7, 2023 at 18:40
1. I can’t be sure of that.
2. The cases added to the AV before you (high numbers included) would be before you in order.
3. No
4. Briefly In transit, then ready.
5. No.
February 7, 2023 at 21:23
Thanks BritSimon for the clarifications.
1. Based on the response by KCC, does it mean that my case is processed now and what’s pending is the availability at the Colombo Embassy?
2. And by your observations, is Colombo not doing well this time?
I think in DV2022 Colombo only processed 297 cases and this time they have already started processing 106 cases. So I am worried I might miss out on an interview letter. Fingers crossed.
February 8, 2023 at 00:41
1. Like it said. It is processed. Not assigned to the embassy yet.
2. They seem to have a backlog.
February 8, 2023 at 22:18
Thanks BritSimon. Much appreciated
February 6, 2023 at 14:57
Hello dear Simon, thanks for your last 2 videos as they have been really helpful. I’m a DV 23 winner with cn AF43K
I have been planning to change my embassy from Nairobi to Kigali, Rwanda. I even applied for a Visa so that I can move to Rwanda.
But today, I have emailed KCC to find out whether I’m in Nairobi’s AVQ. KCC replied with this message
So with that, I think I’m in Nairobi’s AVQ which is really HORRIBLE. I would like to get some answers to my questions.
1. Can I still change embassies from Nairobi to Kigali?
2. What do you encourage me to do moving forward?
3. What can winners like myself do to tell Nairobi embassy to wake up & do their god damn job.
4. Why is Nairobi performing this BAD this year. I did some research on Xarthisius website and Nairobi embassy has a good track record for the past years and its the biggest embassy in East Africa.
They even stopped issuing Visitor visas since mid last year. This should have made them focus on Immigrant visas like DV.
I really don’t know what happened to them this year.
Thanks and I hope to hear from you soon.
February 7, 2023 at 18:42
1. Probably not via KCC. Once scheduled, you could change, but of course you have to be scheduled first.
2. Take a valium and cross your fingers.
3. Probably nothing. Past selectees have tried twitter campaigns, lawsuits, and who knows what else – to no avail.
4. They are prioritizing other cases over DV. It’s a decision. That’s all.
February 6, 2023 at 17:14
Hello Brit, I am a dv 2023 winner from Ghana, sent an email to kcc concerning my case and was told it’s now current for processing and has been locked.
Can I still unlock my case at this stage.
February 7, 2023 at 18:43
No. The email they sent you makes that clear if you read it.
February 6, 2023 at 18:47
Hello brit.just abit worried about Johannesburg embassy.why u said that it’s doing well when they only scheduled around 40 cases in the past 4 months???
February 7, 2023 at 18:43
They have scheduled according to demand.
February 6, 2023 at 18:55
Morning Brit.i know u only answer dv cases but I’m more concerned about the*welcome corps* program as u mentioned it in your last live . so can I contact you in private (email) so we can discuss about it pl it very interesting . thanks
February 7, 2023 at 18:44
I am going through the process of forming a group at the moment. I don’t know much more than what is on the webpage.
February 6, 2023 at 22:23
Hello Brit,
Thank you very much for all your help till date. This was only possible because of all your help. I am DV 2023 winner and now granted Green card from Mumbai Consulate. But I have few doubts.
1- In my DS-260 form I gave address of my uncle who lives in New Jersey. Though I still want my green card to be delivered to my uncle’s place but for living I want to stay at my cousin’s place in New York.
So is it fine if my first entry is made to New York to my cousin’s place or do I have to make first visit to New Jersey Airport.
February 7, 2023 at 18:46
No problem.
February 7, 2023 at 23:55
You mean My first entry can be made through JFK Airport in New York right. Where my cousins will come to pick me and not the uncle whose address I mentioned in DS260.
February 8, 2023 at 00:39
Again – NO problem.
February 7, 2023 at 02:59
Hi Simon, Thank you for all your help!
I chose Doha, Qatar embassy and my case is current since January. KCC said its current for interview processing. But I see the embassy is super slow only 15 cases done so far. I understand they might have only few expats here who have chosen this embassy. My Case is AS7000+, any advice or idea when i might get the interview scheduled? as their is not much of a pattern in the embassy performance.

I can’t predict that.

Hi Simon,
We had our Visa interview in a couple of days ago, my wife was the main applicant and the CO approved her Visa and our two kids, but refused mine and asked for additional information, luckily, we had the DS-5535 prepared for me and my wife and we handed over mine to her and she accepted it to help us with expediting the process. But I got a paper with refusal and the Passport is the only requirement. She told me they will contact me with additional requirements or if there is an update on my application, but didn’t say how long the process will take. Do you know if that’s a common scenario and how long would it take to hear back from the consulate? And why would they approve the other 3 visas under the same case and refuse mine?
Thanks

DS5535 processing can take from a couple of weeks (rarely) to around 3 months. They presumably wanted to check some details about your background.

Hi BritSimon,
My husband went to business trip to Nepal a few days ago. Our CN has been current for some time AF14xxx but not processed yet. Do you suggesst that he unlocks the DS260 and Nepal to travel history? KCC has unlocked our DV260 a few times, did that possibly cause some delay with processing?
Thank you in advance!

Good morning Simon. I am from Cameroon with case number 2023AF0010XXX. I submitted in July for my family and I and still haven’t been emailed for an interview. Am very confused. what can I do please?
February 8, 2023 at 11:31
Be patient. Cameroon embassy is doing well. You could email KCC and ask them if your case is processed, but once it is, I would expect you to get a 2NL quite soon.

Hi Simon,
My case number is AS6XX. I submitted my DS 260 in October.
When I inquired KCC they informed that my application has been processed by 20th January. Can you please advise on when you think I might get my interview for preparation ?
February 8, 2023 at 11:32
It now depends on your embassy and the capacity they have to accept cases.

Hi Brit,
I’m a 2023 DV lottery winner from Sri Lanka (AS202317XXX) and I currently live in Malaysia with my spouse. Since my case number has already passed in the monthly Bulletin process & since it’s still in NVC status in CEAC Data sheets, I raised a mail to the KCC today to check my case process status. And I received a mail saying as :
“Your case number is now current for interview processing. Once the interview date has been scheduled, you will receive notification via email to check https://dvprogram.state.gov. If you need to make changes to your DS-260 you should contact the consular section where you will be interviewed, or bring the information about your changes to your interview appointment. Because your case is ready to be scheduled, KCC can no longer unlock your application.”
As per the DV2023 CEAC Data, Colombo-Sri Lanka embassy is currently around case number 8000 and Kuala Lumpur-Malaysia is somewhat near 19000. At this point, is it wise to change the embassy from Sri Lanka to Malaysia? Or be patience and see for some more time?
February 8, 2023 at 11:36
Their response means that you have been added to the AV queue. At that point KCC will no longer allow changes, so hopefully you have the current address already set in Malaysia, and if so they will interview you there.

Thanks for the reply, Brit. Could you please advise whether there will be any additional requirements/documents needed in a situation where we get the interview set up in country other than my home country.

Hello brit my husband was 2020 DV lottery winner and we got married during his transition time ( after the visa but before his green card) will this affect my immigration process? We wanted to start the process now
Thank you

No problem, but of course your process will take a long time.

Hi Simon,
On my DS 260 , I put my US cellphone number since I live in the US plus my french cellphone number since I am traveling to France several times a year and my interview is scheduled in France in 6 weeks.
Unfortunately, my french carrier canceled in error my french line and a new phone number was allocated to me.
Should I advise the Embassy of this change before the interview or it is not necessary since my principal phone number is the US one and it is up and running ?
Many thanks as always for your support.

No need to inform anyone.

Hi , can you please clarify if we can request for a DV lottory visa re-issue out of financila year? e.g. visa was expired on 30 Sep 22, and if yes can you please brifely tell us about the steps? Thansk in advance,
February 8, 2023 at 22:00
If you did not use the visa, then no, your chance is gone.
February 9, 2023 at 07:23
Hello, I have a question for you. I won the visa lottery, but my number is 29xxx. I live in Europe, and the current figure for Europe is 26,000, while the highest number of interviews scheduled in my country is 11,000 people. Will I get an interview if the numbers continue to rise and reach 30,000 by April because it appears that things are moving too slowly in my country?
February 9, 2023 at 23:46
I don’t know what will happen.
February 9, 2023 at 11:05
Hello Simon,
Is a two-week round-trip overseas authorized while in the U.S. with the post-interview visa and a pending green card?
Thank you
February 9, 2023 at 23:45
I don’t want to answer a vague question without accurate detail.
February 10, 2023 at 07:53
I meant if I enter the US with the Diversity visa on my passport, am I authorized to make a short round-trip to Europe for example with this visa but without the physical green card itself or do I need to remain in the US while the green card is pending ?
Thanks for your reply.

February 10, 2023 at 17:57
1. Check with KCC that your DS260 is processed
2. Check whether your embassy has a backlog – my latest videos explain how.

Hi Simon,
Thank you for all the information you provide, it has been incredibly helpful!
I have a question about the vaccine requirements. I went through the list on https://www.uscis.gov/tools/designated-civil-surgeons/vaccination-requirements and I am missing records for one required vaccine, haemophilius influenzae type B. I’m not sure if I ever received it as a baby and I’m having trouble getting it as it’s not a vaccine generally given to adults here in Australia.
What happens if you go to the medical without meeting a vaccine requirement?
February 11, 2023 at 08:46
The physician will determine what is medically required, and administer any missing vaccines at the medical.
