Hello Mr Simon,i hope you are well… I filled ds 260 and my case is current, my passport expired, I renewed it, I don’t know if I should contact kcc about my new passport or take my old passport with me the day of interview(I have both physical passports in my possession).
I would love to hear your advice about this… Thank you so much for the guidance… There’s no one streaming or giving information about dv lottery as accurate as you do❤️..
November 13, 2023 at 17:35
HHi Simon,
I am dv2020 with lots of worries because I was closed to receiving a ready to schedule letter before everything stood still.
1) I text kcc asking them about dv2020 court status and their rely was dv2020 is gone and we should keep on playing. Does it mean I should forget about dv2020?
2) Sir try to do something again with the lawyers so that dv2020 will be heard again

Hello Simon,
I posted a reply but I couldn’t see it so I am asking again: (sorry for the inconvenience)
My husband won the dv lottery case number AS19XXX
We submitted our ds260 forms on 10 May and then unlocked and corrected some information on 08 August
1. Would the date of processing be considered starting from May or August? Since the submission letter indicates the new date of submission
2. Type of corrections are: adding previous address for my spouse in Jordan where he studied his college, adding travel history to Europe, edit day of marriage it is on 20 May 2022 but we first put it 22 May 2022 as we didn’t have the papers in our hands at the time of filling the application, and correcting his mother’s place of birth, adding high school for both of us.. So would such corrections cause extra processing time? We were pretty excited when filling at the first time 😅😅
3. I know it is too soon for our case to become current but to feel relieved would it be fine and in a reasonable timeline to email them now checking on the case stage?
Thank you dear 🙏🏼🙏🏼

So please would you copy your answer 🙏🏼
November 4, 2023 at 16:31
1. May – but there is no letter showing date of DS260 submission.
2. No
3. That would be a waste of your time and theirs. You have months to wait.
November 4, 2023 at 14:37
I even tried from different mobile, browser, proxy but nothing works 🥲🥲🥲

November 5, 2023 at 01:02
Hello Simon, I wish you are doing good
I am a winner of the 2024 DV lottery but with a high case number 2024AS41*** . So, I thought of entering the DV2025 as well just in case I don’t get the chance to be interviewed. Anyway, I got a new photo and when I look at the photo properties; I see its size is 235 kb , but the size on desk is 256kb !
Based on the photo requirements; it says the photo size must be less than or equal to 240 kb. So, I wonder if they consider the size or the size on disk ?!
I was able to upload the photo, and I have submitted my entry with that photo , and I wish it will not be an issue. Please let me know what is your thought on this ?
Thanks
November 5, 2023 at 09:35
If the entry accepted the photo, then the size was accepted.
November 5, 2023 at 17:35
Thanks a lot Simon. I appreciate your reply and help
November 5, 2023 at 01:32
Hey Mr Simon
I’m from Iraq , the consulate ceased interviewing process and cancelled the appointments, requested KCC to re-assign me to Jordan (amman) and it is re-assigned there.
Do I need to move to amman after this re-assignment? As I saw a post that KCC system lastly relocate you per your current address, does KCC modify my re-assignment request in my case if my Embassy closed and my current address is iraq?
November 5, 2023 at 09:36
If KCC confirmed they have changed you to another embassy, and they did NOT do that based on you saying you had moved there, then that is OK.
November 5, 2023 at 16:30
Well Mr simon ,let’s say if movement was part of the deal and then you did not move but Iraq Embassy is closed and I stayed here In iraq, then don’t they consider that iraq status? Will they keep my re-assignment to Jordan in that case without move?
November 5, 2023 at 21:27
I can’t imagine every hypothetical. Use your own judgement.
November 5, 2023 at 08:28
2024Eu3200 ds submitted on May 14. I have been living in France for 7 years, but I still don’t have residence permit , but soon I will make a request to have the residence permit here, and I have children in school here, and 2 children were born here, and I have one residential address. I have chosen Paris as the location for the interview. Does the fact that I do not have residence permit
for obtaining a green cart penalize me?
November 5, 2023 at 09:39
I don’t know whether that will be a problem for the embassy in Paris or not. Be prepared to show proof that you actually reside there.
November 5, 2023 at 10:57

when filling out DV2025 for me, I have to fill in my legal wife’s data, my wife’s passport has a different address, but of course she lives with me, should I fill in my wife’s passport address in my lottery or address where she lives now? I know when i will fill in my wife’s lottery i have to write address what is written in her passport but in my lottery please tell mi what to do
November 5, 2023 at 11:52
Dear Simon
My number is 2024AS20XXX
I’m from the West Bank.
The US embassy in Israel in both Jerusalem and Tel Aviv have officially announced on the website that they are not providing any visa services due to the security situation. This situation affects all DV winners not only Palestinians.
https://il.usembassy.gov/visas/
I’ve asked you this question before and you said that if only a group of people (aka Palestinians) are not able to reach the embassy but Israelis can then KCC will not do anything about it.
However it’s official now that no visas will be processed in Israel for everyone.
Bear in mind that when my number is current, I can manage to travel to Jordan despite the security situation.
What should I do at this point?? Should I email KCC before my number is current, or should I wait until January when we get more details? Or will KCC automatically transfer my case to Jordan ?
I appreciate your help so much.
November 5, 2023 at 21:24
First, I don’t think I ever said anything about the “only a group” thing. What I would have said is that KCC are “OK” with people losing their chance if an embassy does not make enough appointments available. It is only when an embassy is classified as “homeless” that different rules kick in. I don’t think Israel is there yet.
Right now, I would not do anything. There is no way your case number will be current for months, so there is no reason to assume the current situation will be the same at that time. Then if the situation is bad, you would be better off moving to another country in order to get assigned there, because if you ask KCC to move you because of the security concerns, they will deny your request, and note that you are embassy shopping.

Good day Brit. AFK1k with interview scheduled in Acc for my mum and dad. With their ages 60+ respectively, will the I-134 play a major role in their appointment rather than using assets? It’s a bit challenging getting someone to attest for them because they themselves (family friend’s) are all of age and retired in the States. Any advice or solutions (s) around this?
November 5, 2023 at 21:25
I think an I-134 would be wise. But also what is their financial plan. It’s hard to move to the USA, and harder still at their age. I hope they are wealthy…
November 5, 2023 at 13:49
Hello Mr.Simon,
I applied last times DV program as
married, can I now apply as unmarried in this time which is my genuine marital status..??
November 5, 2023 at 21:25
Yes
November 5, 2023 at 14:24
In my country on our birth certificates, place of birth they write the name of the district. So on City of Birth i ticked unknown. Can a person be disqualified by this when they are selected during the interview.
November 5, 2023 at 21:26
Not normally, no.
November 5, 2023 at 15:44
Hello Simon
My husband won the dv lottery, I was born in Syria and lived here for my entire live, also I have a residency permit but now i remember that my address in my biometric data in the passport is a Lebanese address where they asked me in the passport application to put an address in lebanon to reach me if they want to. I put that I had travelled there in travel history but I didn’t put addresses there because I went for only couple of days to issue the passport. Would this cause a problem??
November 5, 2023 at 16:03
The address doesn’t appear in my passport page but in the biometric chip (yes I am that nerd I tried my passport with an application 🥲😂😂)
November 5, 2023 at 17:58
They asked for present address and permanent one and I put my present address there which was a temporary address to issue my passport for a couple of days and of course I put lebanon in travel history in my ds260 form
I hope the situation is clear now
Thank you 🙏🏼
November 5, 2023 at 21:26
Maybe.
November 6, 2023 at 03:28
Maybe?? What should I do then pls help me.. I was there for a couple of days and I put lebanon as a travel history but in lebanon they put the address in lebanon even if I don’t live there to communicate with me during the passport issue process… please advise me
November 6, 2023 at 03:34
I put lebanon in my travel history in my ds260 form but in Lebanon they put the present address to deliver the passport***
Should I take something to prove or unlock my form add lebanon address for a couple of days?? But in the instructions they advise not to provide an address where I stayed for a week or too? I am really confused please advise me dear 🙏🏼
November 6, 2023 at 05:55
The address is in the biometric chip and doesn’t appear in my passport bio page because it is not my permanent address but they put lebanon address for communication and administrative purposes
I put lebanon as well in my travel history in ds260 form but now I started to worry…
November 6, 2023 at 07:57
I don’t know what they will know, but the idea that you had an address in the biometrics of your passport that you were only at for a week or true does not sound convincing to me. So – I don’t have any suggestions other than to be 100% truthful in this process.
November 6, 2023 at 05:57
I will also authorize stamps indicating that I came to Syria because I travel usually using my ID so before my travel to the interview I will make the immigration procedure in the authorities to indicate when I entered Syria and so well..
November 6, 2023 at 08:27
yes of course I am truthful but when I issued the passport they asked for a Lebanese address where I stayed during the renewal process of the passport.. I don’t know what this address means I asked in the authorities and they told me that this address is for administrative procedures..
November 6, 2023 at 01:15

November 6, 2023 at 02:37
Hi Brit
How should I make a biometric appointment in mumbai as dv-24 selectee?
Thanks
karma
November 6, 2023 at 07:55
You shouldn’t. That is not how the process works. Read the basic questions post on the homepage.
November 8, 2023 at 13:44
Thank you for the response Brit.
Does that mean DV selectee needn’t have to do Biometric? My interview is in Mumbai so I thought I need to make a biometric appointment in Mumbai.
November 8, 2023 at 14:01
KCC set an interview and everything happens at that time.
November 6, 2023 at 04:01
Hi Simon, that’s not a questions, but I just wanted to sat that in my opinion it would be fun if they show all people their case numbers instead of “selected letter”. For example case number EU 2’123’876 would be interesting to see.
It would be a better gambling experience to see how far you were during selection.
November 6, 2023 at 07:58
Yes that would be fun!!
November 6, 2023 at 13:02
Hi brit
I will be 42 next year in January
Can I join the military with no high school certificate if I qualify with work experience?
Thank you
November 6, 2023 at 19:31
I don’t know the requirements for the military.
November 6, 2023 at 15:27
Dear Simon
I checked with Lebanese authority and it seems that this is not my address but rather the address where I took the biometrics for my passport..
So would this be fine??
November 6, 2023 at 15:35
I am the one who is obsessed with the passport biometric chip in my passport 🙈✌🏼😂
November 6, 2023 at 15:35
Hi Brit,
Thanks for your continuous support. My number is 2024AF49xxx (Egypt). As I remember, I saw your video/post talking about slow interview rate in here, and suggesting traveling to another country to have the interview. When I emailed them to ask they said:
1- “You will need to include information that explains why you need the interview location changed”.
Does that mean that they might not accept being there in a tourist visa?
2- “The place of application, i.e., location of interview, for noncitizens seeking an immigrant visa will normally be in the consular district with jurisdiction over their place of residence, with limited exceptions.”
Does this mean that -if I visit another country- it has to be from the “AF” (Africa) region only? I can’t travel to a European country to have the interview there if I had the chance?
3- If Africa numbers reached the 49K limit, but Egypt is still lower as usual, can I still travel before that with a tourist visa to another country to have the interview?
4- If I traveled, would I make the medical check in the new country, or I have to make it here before I leave?
Thanks a lot for your great help and time you give.
November 6, 2023 at 19:34
You should not have asked KCC about this. Their preference/rule is that people interview where they live. If the embassy is going slow in that country and it causes some people to miss their chance – KCC don’t care.
So – you should not ask them to move the embassy. Read the article below to understand better.

November 6, 2023 at 15:57
I just applied for DV-2025, and I see it was successful in the end. Then I get the confirmation number and print all the information. But I haven’t closed the webpage yet. Then I click the refresh button. But after I click the refresh button, the website shows me that:
The information submitted has not been accepted because it matches a previous entry in our records. Individuals may only submit one entry per DV period. Duplicate entries will not be accepted.’
Am I going to be disqualified for DV-2025?
November 6, 2023 at 19:35
No.
November 6, 2023 at 17:13
Hello Brit,
If you have received re-entry permit for 2 yeats (form I 131) for DV applicant after activating visa. My question is Can you go and back time and again to US between these 2 years period? What question CBP officer May ask?
Thank you
November 6, 2023 at 19:36
If you go back within the 2 years then the I-131 has done its job.
November 7, 2023 at 11:06
Hello Simon,
Sorry for bothering you again and again but honestly you are my only trusted source of information..
Regarding the address in lebanon in my bio chip while I reside permanently in Syria I checked with Lebanese general security and they informed that since the passport was issued in Lebanon it has to a Lebanese address of which I stayed to renew the passport.. at that time I stayed in my relative’s house issued the passport and then travelled back to Syria..
The Lebanese embassy in Syria also took almost forever to issue it that’s why I travelled there..
So would you suggest to unlock and add lebanon in my previous addresses for one week (that was the length of my stays)? But that was not a place of which I established a residency, or just let it go and tell the situation as it is if asked during the interview?
Thank you very much
November 7, 2023 at 11:08
Taking into consideration that I put Lebanon in my travel history as well but not in previous addresses because I was working and living my life in Syria and wen there for one week applied for a passport immediately and paid extra fees
November 7, 2023 at 17:48
Going to a country is not “living” there. That’s just visiting. So it is travel history, not address history.
Now, calm down, relax, and please read the basic questions page where I talk about numbering questions, not asking “are you sure” questions and so on.
November 7, 2023 at 18:52
Ok I am very sorry 🙏🏼
Thank you for your time dear 🙏🏼
November 7, 2023 at 17:22
Hi Brit. So AF49K (Egypt), what do you suggest I do? (I can travel as a tourist, but moving countries for a new address I don’t know if that’s easy to be done). What do you think of my options? Thanks.
November 7, 2023 at 17:48
Wait. It is far too soon to be thinking about doing anything!
November 7, 2023 at 22:08
Hi Simon,
I applied for DV2025. I’m using my maiden name and my husband’s name (hyphenated). In the box with maiden name I didn’t put anything or marked as none can’t remember exactly.
Do you think I could be disqualified for that ?
Many thanks in advance !!
J.
November 7, 2023 at 22:26
No
November 8, 2023 at 06:50
Hi Simon, in one of your videos you said that very significant number of entries was rejected last year because of bad photos.
I was wandering how many of rejected photos were “fake entries” eg. photos of donkey’s butt, how many entries were duplicates, and how many entries were genuine entries with genuine photos, but for example quality of the photo was too low or photo was too dark, etc.
Is there any detailed statistic about it?
November 8, 2023 at 09:53
No, the government don’t release that data.
November 8, 2023 at 06:56
Hi BritSimon
Thanks for this great platform.
My Question is on police clearance, i stayed in another country on a student visa for approximately 10 months, but prior to that i had come to that country on a visit visa that was valid for 3 months. The difference between my date of exit on visit visa and entry on student visas was 4 months.
Now im looking at the DV requirements that requires a person to obtain a police clearance is he or she stayed in another country for more than 12 months. The 10 months (student visa) plus 3 months (visit visa) makes it 13 months. Do i need to obtain police clearance certificate for that? Or each stay is treated separately?
November 8, 2023 at 09:54
If in doubt, just get the police certificate.
November 8, 2023 at 15:29
Hello Brit, I came to the States in 2018 through dv program and I filed for my wife and son back home in 2019 April which was approved after a year.
Followed the process and moved to the next step and in that period my wife and I had another baby girl.
I wrote a letter to NVC to report the child birth and they made me to add the child on the case and now all three have the same case and invoice number.
My case has taken 4 years 7 months to get a date for interview. It has been with NVC for almost three years and now my time for citizenship is here and I am about to go through that process to upgrade my case but my worry and question is that, if the case is upgraded, will it affect my daughter who was not filed for but was just added after the case is upgraded?
Brit, am so confused and worried.
Thank You
November 8, 2023 at 15:44
You should probably have engaged a lawyer and that lawyer would answer these questions. My scope is DV lottery only.
November 8, 2023 at 16:27
Thank you so much
November 9, 2023 at 20:37
Hi Brit,
Is the VB for Asia going a bit slow? Should i be worried with 7.9k CN?
November 10, 2023 at 00:20
Hello Simon, I have the Parole 1 asylum case and I past the interview with IOM in Pakistan and the second interview with the USCIS will be on 18,November, 2023 . And also my wife selected in DV lottery and she got his 2nl interview is in December. So we need your kind suggestions which one is better and what is different between them. And we hope that you give us a great advice which one is better to process. Thank you
November 10, 2023 at 10:27
You can process two options at the same time. I don’t know anything about the asylum process you are going through, so I cannot compare them for you.

November 10, 2023 at 08:36
Hi brit, how Can i send the documents with thé online Ds260 form? Is it by email separtly ?
November 10, 2023 at 10:29
You do not send documents. You submit them on the day of your interview.
November 10, 2023 at 11:20
Hi simon,
My case number falls under upcoming december cutoff numbers.I have submitted my ds260 form 3 days after dv 2024 result day.So, can you please tell me when will I get my second letter at maximum time?
November 10, 2023 at 14:49
It depends on your embassy.
November 10, 2023 at 16:37
Hi Brit,
I made a stupid mistake in my DV entry. I put my first name as my last name and my last name as my first name. Do you know if this is usually a problem in case one gets selected? My embassy would be the Frankfurt one.
Thanks a lot.
November 10, 2023 at 17:42
You can correct it if you get selected.
November 11, 2023 at 01:23
Hi Simon,
Do you think 7.9k CN for Nepal is at risk the way the VB is going?
November 11, 2023 at 09:49
No
November 11, 2023 at 14:10
Mr simon
Submitted my form May 8th 2023 ,
Unlocked it yesterday and added UAE travel and edited and cut few sentences in my work explanation section.
CN is 17K
Does that pose any delay for processing and scheduling?
Thanks.
November 11, 2023 at 19:21

November 11, 2023 at 15:16
Hi Brit
this article has been just puplished in the newyork time below link
please your thought about it interms of dv winnere those who will be arriving US
Donald Trump plans to expand his immigration crackdown if he returns to power in 2025, including rounding people up in giant camps for mass deportation.https://www.nytimes.com/2023/11/11/us/politics/trump-2025-immigration-agenda.html?smid=tw-nytimes&smtyp=cur
November 11, 2023 at 19:22
That has nothing to do with DV as they are greencard holders.

Hi Simon,
Case number OC5XX and am now current. Freaking out but excited about the next steps, what are your go to tips not to stuff this up? Because I keep rereading over the instructions and reciprocity page and I’m over thinking and confusing myself. 😂
Thanks!
November 12, 2023 at 07:57
Since you have read the instructions you are probably all set. The interviews are very simple. Make sure you have the correct police certificates, think about showing finances, make copies of documents you don’t want to lose. That’s about it. You’ll be fine.
November 12, 2023 at 06:20
Hello Mr Simon,i hope you are well… I filled ds 260 and my case is current, my passport expired, I renewed it, I don’t know if I should contact kcc about my new passport or take my old passport with me the day of interview(I have both physical passports in my possession).
I would love to hear your advice about this… Thank you so much for the guidance… There’s no one streaming or giving information about dv lottery as accurate as you do❤️..
November 12, 2023 at 07:58
Just take both passports to the interview. That won’t cause a problem.
November 12, 2023 at 08:27
Hi Simon, Love your work on this. I am English and entered DV25 on a whim this year, as it is the first year that we have been allowed to. I have been a frequent traveller to the USA over the last decade or so, and have been enrolled and renewed my Global Entry scheme membership during that time. My question is does the global entry membership make the processing any faster at KCC if I am in the lucky one third of a percent to get selected? Meaning a lower case number for the subsequent process. I figure the USA already has a lot of information about me so I wondered if there was any crossover with the data I have previously given, secondly, I am 50 now and wondered if that makes a difference in their priorities at all. Many thanks
November 12, 2023 at 12:51
It makes no difference to the chance of selection or ease/speed of processing if selected.
Good luck!
November 12, 2023 at 16:00
Hi Brit, I applied for DV lottery but whenever I try to login to check on my status it says the confirmation number is wrong and I entered the exact code given to me. I even have the record of it
Assist me please
November 12, 2023 at 16:21
You cannot check your status until January 1.

Hi Simon. Here in Nepal people say that if you are above 25 and unmarried, there will be more interrogation in the visa interview. I am 31 and unmarried. So how do i prove them that i am really unmarried? I also dont use social media very often as i am introvert person. I dont prefer to show many things in my social media. So how exactly will they be sure that i am really unmarried?

I’m not expert in the situation specifically for Nepal or any other country. But I suggest you don’t overthink things based on what “some people” say.

Hi Simon,
I am dv2020 with lots of worries because I was closed to receiving a ready to schedule letter before everything stood still.
1) I text kcc asking them about dv2020 court status and their rely was dv2020 is gone and we should keep on playing. Does it mean I should forget about dv2020?
2) Sir try to do something again with the lawyers so that dv2020 will be heard again

1. No
2. We just have to wait.

2024 selectee. Oceania assigned to Auckland NZ. Our CN is 26XX family of 5 🙂 I see the visa bulletin only got to 2500 in 2023, does that mean most likely our number won’t be called up?

You can’t be certain of that. You will have to wait and see.

What email address does the interview notification come from? is it [email protected]? i cant remember what email address we put it, mine or my husbands. Thought we should add to contact book so it doesn’t go to junk mail.

Hi Mr. Simon,
My case number is 2024OC4043. What are my chances looking like based on the released VB?
I was also wondering if there’s anything I have to do in the meanwhile after submitting DS-260, such as paying the $330 diversity-processing fee?
Thanks!
Justin

No there is nothing to do other than wait to become current and receive the 2NL.
However, your number is very high, probably too high. WE will know better in January (with CEAC data), but as of now I don’t believe your number will become current.
Simplest way to explain it – the government did not use all the OC selectees in the last DV lottery, and they issued more than the quota. For DV2024 they increased the selectees by 77%. That’s completely nuts unless they think there will be massive refusals in Fiji.

Hi Simon,
My 1NL shows Nairobi as my post but i selected Guangzhou as my interview place in the DS260.
1.Can you please help me verify or explain this to me?
2. Does my interview still stand to be in Guangzhou?
Thanks

1. Of course your 1NL has not changed. It is static.
2. KCC schedule based on current address. So if you are living in China, they will select Guangzhou.
