OK – DV2018 ended 2 minutes ago.
So – for any DV2018 case not already approved, there is now NO CHANCE of being approved. It is possible that some (very few) cases might have been approved in the last day or two and not updated in CEAC, but otherwise if your case still says AP, it will now not change. There is no possible way for a DV2018 case to be approved after today.
I know some will have been left out without a visa, and it is an imperfect system – but more than 45,000 visas will have been issued, and for those people – I am happy.
So now we start DV2019. I hope this year is successful for as many people as possible. Best of luck to you all!

Hi Brit. Please concerning affidavit of support, 1.does the person providing the affidavit have to be a family relation?
2. I have a friend (US citizen ) who works in Singapore with HP company but is paid in the US . Can he provide affidavit of support to me or he actually has to reside in the USA?
Note: He’s not the one who will house us when we arrive.

1. No, but should be someone who you know.
2. It should be a US resident/taxpayer
