Hi,
I am a dv2024 winner. In order to prove that I will not be a public charge, I intent to rely on a large savings I have at my broker account, and an apartment I own.
About the savings – is it enough to show a broker statement I download from the broker’s website of the size of the portfolio? Or does it have to be an original document? My broker does not send original documents unfortunately.
About the house – Do I need to get an appraiser to approve the price of the house and the rent I can generate?
Thanks
May 22, 2023 at 18:16
1. I can’t be sure what the CO will accept from the broker.
2. Real estate is not useful to meet public charge. They are not interested in read appraisals, mortgage statements etc.
May 23, 2023 at 03:37
I see, makes sense.
How much money in savings do you feel will be convincing that someone is not not going to become a public charge?
May 23, 2023 at 07:44
At least $10,000 per person.
May 23, 2023 at 11:42
Thanks.
Is there a chance in your opinion that they will waive the covid vax requirement for dv2024? Is there a way around it for someone who has a severe issue with needles? (We have an autistic child which we can not vax).
Thanks for all the help sir
May 25, 2023 at 08:51
No. There a number of vaccines that everyone needs to have. It is part of immigration law, and a child who is scared of needles needs to comply with the law too if that child is to benefit from that immigration law.
By the way, even registering a child in school in the USA will require proof of various vaccines.

Dear Mr BritSimon
My case number is 2024AF00069000. Do I have a chance for an interview?
Thankyou!
May 22, 2023 at 18:22
Probably – but it is too soon to know for sure.
May 23, 2023 at 05:53
I really want to thank you and appreciate your amazing endless effort to help anyone freely. May God give you a happy and long life.
May 23, 2023 at 07:48
Thanks!
May 22, 2023 at 15:06
Hello Sir,
My case number is EU65***. Do you think I need to wait for little bit to fill DS260 or to fill ASAP. Case number is quite high, do you think there is any chance for call for interview?
Really appreciate your work !
May 22, 2023 at 18:23
We don’t know how many people are selected – so we cannot say how high your case number really is.
May 23, 2023 at 08:15
My opinion tou have to fill your Ds260 As soon as possible because when your case will be current you will have chance for taking interview.
May 23, 2023 at 08:18
My opinion is that, you have to fill your Ds-260 As soon as possible because when your case nmb will be current you will have chance for taking interview appointment.
May 23, 2023 at 04:49
Hi Simon, I want to fill my DS 260 now but I don’t want to put my current address am living now in Nigeria. I want to but my husband relative address in Cameron so that I can do my interview in Cameron. Can this lie be harmful for me in the future?
May 23, 2023 at 07:46
Lies are usually harmful. Move there, so it is not a lie.
May 23, 2023 at 06:21
Hi,
After submitting my DS260, I found that 4 questions were missing ( question about languages, and the 3 questions before this one), and this by compaging the questions with another lottery winner. The KCC has unlocked my DS260, But the questions did not appear. So I submitted again the form without the missing questions.
I just want to make sure that this will not impact the eligibility of my DS 260 Form. And would ask you which date of submission will be taken in consideration, the first one or the second?
Thank you
May 23, 2023 at 07:49
The form is somewhat intelligent. Some questions do not appear for dv cases, then some answers cause other questions to be suppressed.
May 23, 2023 at 11:18
Coming from your video on YT. Thanks for all the insights. My case number is 2024AS22xxx. I have filled the DS260. What sort of chances do you see?
May 25, 2023 at 08:49
We don’t know how many people are selected, so your number doesn’t mean anything right now. We will know more in July/August.
May 23, 2023 at 14:09
Hello Simon 👋
Do you know what is the highest case number for Europe in the 2024 dv lottery? Knowing that my case number is ~EU 48 K do I have a chance to get interviewed?
Thank you very much for your help!
May 25, 2023 at 08:52
We don’t know how many people are selected, so your number doesn’t mean anything right now. We will know more in July/August.
May 23, 2023 at 17:32
Dear Britsimon
What’s the highest case number for 2024AF you’ve heard so far?
Thankyou.
May 25, 2023 at 08:56
2024AF122XXX
May 24, 2023 at 06:29
Hi Simon
My case number is AF00014xx.. I live in somalia
1= are somali people allowed to travel USA?
2= at what time you think that I will get my interview?
3= which embassy is good for me?
May 25, 2023 at 09:12
1. Yes
2. I don’t know for sure. It depends on when your DS260 is processed and which embassy you are assigned to.
3. Usually it is the one in your residence country, but in cases where the embassy is closed, you can choose one that is more convenient that you can travel to.
May 24, 2023 at 17:42
Hello sir, my girl has won the dvlottery 2024. We are about to marry get married on 31 july. Can l apply the ds260 with her
May 25, 2023 at 09:16
Only once you have married. You MUST NOT claim to be married before you are married.
You can submit the DS260 now as single and add your spouse later once married.
May 25, 2023 at 11:12
Hey Simon, based on your opinion and prediction do you think i will get a chance for interview my cn is 2024EU37xxx
May 27, 2023 at 10:53
I don’t know. It is too soon to know how high that number is compared to EU as a whole and the number of selectees.
May 26, 2023 at 02:20
Dear Britsimon
I’ve highschool Transcript
I’ve a college degree certeficate.
I am a UNHCR proven refugee who escaped the harsh life in my country. I was employed in a governmental mechanical machine shop for 4 years.
The government does not provide any proof of work experience to any citizen and I don’t have their address information like phone number. So it becomes hard for me to fill the “Pevious Employer” detailed information of the DS-260 form. And if I don’t fill the “phone number” box, the DS260 page becomes inaccessible. So please advice me
1 what I should do about the “previous employer” section of the DS260?
Can I answer the “Where you previously employed” question as “No”? to get rid of this problem?
Thank you!
God bless you!
May 27, 2023 at 11:00
List the education, use a clearly false phone number if needed (like 999 999 9999)
May 27, 2023 at 12:05
Oh here you come again. I couldn’t wait till you answer me back. Is everything all right. I wish you all the best God bless you. I’d like to call you “Father of all DV winners”
Thank you so Much!
May 26, 2023 at 09:29
Hi Simon,
What is the highest 2024EU CN we know so far?
Thank you!
May 27, 2023 at 11:06
about 65XXX
May 28, 2023 at 17:32
@Simon I think we have higher CN in Europe, in my country Albania i heard people with 66 or 67k.
May 29, 2023 at 08:57
Yes – that sounds about right.
May 26, 2023 at 09:56
I filled the ds260 – should I now expect an email on around Oct? Is there any other way to check the status besides email? I don’t trust the email with all the spam and noise in my inbox.
Thanks
May 26, 2023 at 11:07
also, can you please share what is the lowest number you saw for Asia? I know its supposed to start at 1 but maybe they cancelled a lot of application from the begininng of the queue this year?
May 27, 2023 at 11:09
They didn’t do that. You are imagining what you want to believe.
May 27, 2023 at 11:08
Your 2NL will depend on your case number, embassy status and DS260 status. When they send the emails you get the actual appointment from the ESC page.
May 27, 2023 at 14:31
Dear Britsimon
I just submited my D260 form and got another alphanumeric confirmation number. Can you tell me what this confirmation number implies.
Thank you!
May 27, 2023 at 14:32
Nothing of any interest.
May 28, 2023 at 01:36
AF24k
What is the highest you have heard for Africa?
May 29, 2023 at 08:29
2024AF122XXX
June 5, 2023 at 12:42
Just saw case number AF190k today
June 5, 2023 at 16:09
Wow.
May 28, 2023 at 22:17
Hello! I am from SA, I have the case 36xx, in my region I have heard numbers above 5000, is this something atypical for this region or are they normal ranges?
May 29, 2023 at 09:03
All numbers are higher this year. We don’t yet know whether that means a high number of selectees or not.
May 29, 2023 at 05:17
You must retain your confirmation number in order to check your entry status via
Entrant Status Check
between May 6,
2023 and September 30,
2024
to determine whether your entry was selected for further processing in the 2024 Diversity Visa Program.
My question is that,so the ESC will be updated from time-to-time or when you see HAS NOT BEEN selected means it thats the final status you should forget it an play the the next lottery in October?
May 29, 2023 at 09:11
You can assume it is the final answer.
May 29, 2023 at 05:31
Hi Simon,
Now we’re a few weeks after the DV 2024 draw I was curious to know the range of Oceania numbers you’ve been hearing. I remember seeing an OC6800 mentioned (thats crazy high) but most of what I’ve seen has been 4900 and below.
Thanks
May 29, 2023 at 09:12
I have the same experience as you – and still no numbers that fill in between 4900 and 6800. That could indicate the 6800 is an “outlier” that happens sometimes.
May 29, 2023 at 14:17
Hey Simon,
Coming from your video on YT. Thanks for all the insights. My case number is 2024EU42xxx.
May 30, 2023 at 05:20
Hi, I’m a DV2024 winner from Egypt my case no. 2024AF779xx, in the last years there was no problem for the visa bulletin but the main problem was that the interview at embassy in Cairo was very slow, Can you suggest me an embassy, especially in the Arab region or Africa “to be able to travel to it” which is better than Cairo embassy (according to your experience) to choose it from now in the DS260 application form, or should I choose the Cairo embassy in the ds260 and wait to see what will happen, please give me an advice. Thank you
May 30, 2023 at 08:48
KCC set the embassy based on current residence. So – getting assigned elsewhere would mean moving there. Your choice on the DS260 is routinely ignored.
Now – it is not possible to predict how any embassy will be behaving a year from now. So I suggest you submit your DS260 now, and then wait and see how embassies behave and move if needed.
May 30, 2023 at 21:55
Hi Simon
My case number is 2024OC43**
Im worried but your video gave me hope thankyou
June 2, 2023 at 19:57
Bula,
Yes, I’m on the same boat of CN40xx. I think Oceanic region has never seen case numbers in 4000s before.
Simons videos really enlightened the process and I truly believe it’s not the end just yet.
May 31, 2023 at 03:48
HI Britsion
while filling out the DS260 form(DV lottery), i wrote the screen name(Profile Name) on social media facebook section. And right after that in question ( do you wish to provide information about your presence)i filled with another social media platform name instagram username. is this a major mistake? do you think its worth unlocking the DS260???
May 31, 2023 at 17:38
If you have given inaccurate information, then yes – correct it.
May 31, 2023 at 14:31
So after submitting the ds260, with 2024 AS20xxx I can assume there won’t be anything requiring me to be at my home country for at least Jan 24?
May 31, 2023 at 17:47
I can’t be certain of that.
May 31, 2023 at 15:02
Dear Simon
The visa bulletin cutoff number for Africa has reached 63500, but the Addiss Ababa and Nairobi embassies are yet at 20000(they’re ruining our chances). For Ethiopia and Kenya citizens, this makes the DV lottery useless and 98% impossible to win. What can we do so that they won’t repeat this mess for DV2024 winners?
Thankyou!
May 31, 2023 at 17:48
To be honest – nothing.
June 4, 2023 at 19:49
Hey Simon! My case number is 2024EU49XXX. Is it crazy high?
June 4, 2023 at 20:04
We don’t know yet. We will know better in July or August.
June 6, 2023 at 02:49
Hi Sir Brit, my case number is 2024AF102XXX but am living in France and my eligibility country is Benin, for my interview I requested to do it in France here,so my first question is, is France will treat my case as French winner of dvlottery at US embassy coz I notice in each country it’s a different files to provide or as beninese and second one is ,is my choice of country could accelerate the treatment of my case as beninese who is doing his interview in France.
June 6, 2023 at 10:45
If you will be living in France next year – then leave it as France.
June 8, 2023 at 03:47
Dear Britsimon
Can I submit the 10 semister original GPA results of my university as a proof of university degree completion during the interview. This is because I don’t have access to my graduation certeficate or student copy.
Thank you
June 8, 2023 at 09:42
Show what you have.
June 8, 2023 at 03:48
Dear Britsimon
Can I submit the 10 semister original GPA results of my university as a proof of university degree completion during the interview. This is because I don’t have access to my graduation certeficate or student copy.
Thank you
June 8, 2023 at 07:45
By 10 I mean the 10 semisters in 5 acedemic years which I spent at university
June 12, 2023 at 12:37
Hello Sir.
Just watched your video on youtube, thank you for that. Still i dont know yet if my case number EU 25*** is a high one or a lower one. Can you tell me something? i’ve filled the ds-260 on 8 may( does that change anything?)
June 12, 2023 at 17:50
We won’t have any selectee number information until July or August. However, I have heard of EU case numbers MUCH higher than yours.
June 13, 2023 at 14:02
Hi Simon,
Thank you for your work! My number is EU00057xxx. I filled my DS260 application but I only provided information regarding my high school (year 10, 11 and 12), bachelor education and master degree. I did not mention anything related to primary and middle school. Is this a problem? Should I unlock my DS260? Thank you for your time!
June 14, 2023 at 08:47
You should have included middle school too, but I would not suggest you unlock for that.
June 18, 2023 at 05:32
Mistakenly I have inserted Whats App under the Social Media? sinse its a mistake should I unlock and correct it?
Further, under the language fluency, once again mistakenly I have added my native language also. Will it be a problem? please advise me
June 19, 2023 at 06:29
No need to unlock for either point.
June 20, 2023 at 04:28
Dear Britsimon
According to the 2023 CEAC data, all the dv winners whose consulates are at Addiss Ababa(ADD) have their CN in the range 1-20K and no winner from ADD have CN above 20K. And again according to the CEAC embassy progress data the Addiss Ababa embassy has sent 2NL to all these winners. Therefore, can we say this embassy has performed well?
Thankyou!
June 21, 2023 at 12:46
No – you misunderstand what you are seeing. They have done a HORRIBLE job. They are restricting interviews so they have allowed a massive backlog to develop, and seem to have no plan to fix the problem they have caused.
June 21, 2023 at 17:23
Dear Britsimon
1 Does the CN database at the very bottom of the ‘DV2023 CEAC Data’ show all the DV2023 selected cases or only that got the 2NLs?
2 In case of ADD are there case numbers above 20K? Because I’m not seeing any.
Thankyou for being so patient!
June 23, 2023 at 00:14
1. All case numbers. You can see they are consecutive numbers.
2. You are referring to scheduled cases – so we only see cases up to 20K because that is all they have scheduled – which indicates they are badly backlogged.
June 23, 2023 at 00:51
Dear Britsimon
Referring to the same CN database I mentioned earlier, there is something like
CNumberFull Consulate Status
1 2023AFXX None None
2 2023AFXX None NVC
Can you tell me what it means when the
1. Consulate is None and Status is None ?
2. Consulate is None and Status is NVC ?
Thankyou for your amazing patience!
June 23, 2023 at 09:45
These are very basic questions, it would be better to read some of the “basic questions” posts I have made available.
The first case would be a hole, the second is a case not yet scheduled.
June 20, 2023 at 09:32
Dear Sir,
I am a DV lottery winner in 2024. My Daughters are studying in my home country. If i got interview and visa , is it possible to arrange them after a year to come USA ?
June 21, 2023 at 14:27
It could take several years to bring them if you don’t include them in the DV process.
June 29, 2023 at 22:54
For DV2024,what is the highest case number in Asia?
June 30, 2023 at 09:10
We don’t know yet for sure.
July 6, 2023 at 01:11
Hi Simon,
Sorry to bother mate but just wondering when the Xarthsius website will have 2024 information?
Thanks in advance mate,
Kevin
July 6, 2023 at 17:56
I think the CEAC database is already loaded with DV2024 data. However, in a master stroke of stupid system design, the data can only be seen in the status check system once the database time is 01-JAN-2024. I keep thinking they might fix this silly thing one year, but that is wishful thinking on my part. So – Xarthisius will do the first extract on January 1.
July 6, 2023 at 21:50
You’re a champion mate!
July 20, 2023 at 16:13
Hi Simon, thank you for the video and blog post. I am in OC and have a case number of 31XX which is at the higher end. Out of curiosity what were the higher case numbers in previous years in OC? Thank you 🙂
July 21, 2023 at 00:46
You can see cutoffs in the link above visa bulletin numbers. DV 2022 had <3000 as the highest selected, and a cutoff at 2500.
July 29, 2023 at 02:45
Mr BritSimon is there any Embassy/Consular that can handle the huge case numbers like 2024AF61XXX?
July 29, 2023 at 11:35
Yes. That number is not as high as you think it is.
August 8, 2023 at 13:59
Hey simon
I am from sudan and i was born in Saudi Arabia, and I have applied for DV lottery program and i win, at the time of applying i chose (sudan) as the country of eligibility claiming the eligibility of the country where my parents were born (sudan) both country are qualify countries
Can this disqualified my case ?
August 8, 2023 at 17:02
It can cause disqualification, yes, but it is not certain. I suggest you read the link below, and prepare extremely well for the interview to be able to explain why you were able to use the country of your parents.

August 9, 2023 at 09:26
Hi Simon
My dad won this year and I’ll turn 21 in September do i still qualify to go with him
August 9, 2023 at 11:19
It depends on his case number and when he becomes current. You have about 6 months of “protection” beyond your birthday, so if his number is very low you may be OK.
August 16, 2023 at 03:12
Its a very high af112*** but he scheduled his interview in non African embassy
August 16, 2023 at 20:00
So then you will lose your protected status because his case number won’t be ready for many months, if at all. You will not get a visa through DV , even if he does.
August 16, 2023 at 18:31
1) Hello sir, I am selected at DV2024 and I have a very low CN but my concern is at the sponsor level I would like to know the amount of money estimated that the living sponsor in the United States must have to support me financially. Please pray to answer me dear friends that concerns me a lot. 2) I would like to know if the US Embassy in Dakar asks for the record of the DV winner’s bank account or requests a sponsor living in the United States?

August 26, 2023 at 05:14
Hi,
Im from Sri Lanka and my number is AS36K in DV 2024 program, is it a high case number?
Thank you so much
August 27, 2023 at 08:58
Yes, somewhat high. But we will know more in January.
September 1, 2023 at 02:24
Hello Simon.
Our case number is : 2024EA447XX.
We are from Azerbaijan and US consular based at Tbilisi (Georgia)
As we know there are about 2047 in Aze – and 3800apxx winners at GEO total for both countries = 5847 cases.
Question : Case number depends on how quickly this or that consular handle with interview dates or how quick KCC works with global cases ?
September 1, 2023 at 13:56
Your scheduling priority depends on your case number (2024EA447XX) and when your DS260 is processed. Based on those two things, you will eneter a queue (called the AV queue). How long that queue gets depends on how many cases the embassy takes each month. If more cases enter the queue than the number of cases the embassy takes, then a backlog of cases will build up. In DV2023 the embassy did not take enough cases, and that ruined the chances for all cases above about 21000, and some cases below that number too.
September 15, 2023 at 19:50
CN OC42** should I reapply again this year in case I don’t receive 2NL?
September 16, 2023 at 11:39
Yes. Absolutely.
September 20, 2023 at 01:39
Hello Mr. BritSimon. My case number is 24019, of course, in Asia, do you think I have a chance to get an interview? Thank you for answering my question
September 20, 2023 at 09:27
It is too soo to know for sure.
September 21, 2023 at 00:21
Mr. Simon, hello again! I am from Afghanistan, considering the conditions of the previous year, is it possible to get a carnet case number 24019 or not? If so, when do you think my case number will be issued?
September 21, 2023 at 11:57
It’s possible, but I don’t have a prediction about when.
September 21, 2023 at 12:57
My other question is how and which mechanism comes to a 2NL lottery winner. Does the 2NL email come with the details of the ds260 form or is it due to the submission time of the ds260 or another lottery? And is it still possible to get 2NL this year up to case number?
🙏
September 21, 2023 at 16:27
To get a 2NL, three things must be true.
1. Your DS260 is submitted and processed (they are opened in submission order but time of processing varies)
2. Your case number must be current
3. Your embassy must have made sufficient capacity available for interviews.
September 22, 2023 at 05:38
Mr. Simon! I am really worried about being able to come to America because my case number is 24019AS and I think I will be rejected. I have chosen the embassy of Pakistan, will it be my turn? Please give me hope
September 22, 2023 at 07:07
You have a chance.
September 22, 2023 at 05:41
Is the Pakistani embassy good for Afghans who have a high case number? If not, then tell me which embassy is suitable for Afghans in 2024.
September 22, 2023 at 07:08
It’s OK, and commonly used by Afghans as it is easier to travel to.
September 22, 2023 at 05:48
And as a last question, can my brother, who is in America, help me to get my case number as soon as possible? Please accept my apologies for asking so many questions because I am very depressed because of the very high case number. What do you think is the highest case number in Asia and Afghanistan?
September 22, 2023 at 07:09
Your brother can’t control the numbers. You just have to wait. The highest AS case numbers are over 50000, so your number might be OK.
September 22, 2023 at 08:19
Thanks mr simon
September 22, 2023 at 08:18
For 2024, because the condition of passport was removed for initial registration, more people participated and accordingly more people were eliminated in the first stage. And there were more absurd cases
For example, if last year from case number 1 to 1000
We had 100 winning cases, this year there are 50 and more empty cases. Mr. Simon, is such a hypothesis correct?
September 22, 2023 at 08:20
Yes, the case density in AS region has gone down in DV2024.
