The new Visa Bulletin has been released. This one is for interviews in June, and as Charlie Oppenheim said he would do – he made the regions current.
Current means can be scheduled for interview (apart from the “except” countries which still have a number limit). However, they will ONLY schedule interviews where the case is “ready for scheduling” (meaning the DS260 and documents have been processed), AND the embassy is operating (open) to accept the interview. PLUS right now, less than 90 embassies are accepting interviews, and none of the embassies are taking high volume.
So – I am worried. I think DV2021 is going to be a mess, and making the regions current probably makes it worse.
I discuss the problem in more detail here:
To those new to looking at VBs, let me explain what the “except” XXX country means. Some countries have been called out as “exceptions” meaning that selectees chargeable to those two countries (regardless of where they will interview) are subject to a lower VB number for the month than the rest of the region. This is done to slow down processing for countries with a high number of selectees to spread out the workload over a longer time. Please read this linked article on how to read the visa bulletin.

Good evening Brit
I’m from Ghana, my case number is 2021AF000101xx, don’t you think that many people will be denied DV visas when the law suit is ruled on your favour.
Again, do you think after the verdict has gone your favour, we those of us who are waiting for scheduling will be done before September 30, 2021.
Lastly, it will be bad to spend more money to process your visa and the consular will deny you.
Thanks
July 24, 2021 at 01:41
We don’t know how the lawsuit will end, but denial at interview is a real possibility, especially in Ghana because of the common fraudulent documents, agents and so on.

May 25, 2021 at 12:40
Good evening Brit,
From your video on ‘CURRENT’, I sent KCC an email to check on mine, 2021AF000101xx, I was told my CN is current and for that matter it is in Accra, Ghana, waiting for interview scheduling.
May I know if Accra Embassy is processing DV visas? If yes, may I know when do you think I may be scheduled.
Thanks.
May 26, 2021 at 05:03
No cases have been scheduled yet in Accra.
May 20, 2021 at 00:34

thank you
May 20, 2021 at 20:01
1. Probably – although we don’t know what impacts will come from Covid.
2. No
3. No
4. Yes – as soon as you marry ask KCC to unlock and add your spouse. That is all in the FAQ.
May 20, 2021 at 20:58
Thank you brit, much appreciate your time and help.
May 17, 2021 at 21:02
Hello!
Quick question about the translation of the documents. Our birth certificate is issued in three languages, including English, so I assume there is no need to translate that. However, our police certificate is in Hungarian. What are the requirements in terms of translation?
May 17, 2021 at 22:24
Just like it says in the instructions. You need translations if your document is not in English OR the official language of the country where your interview is held.
May 16, 2021 at 01:45
Hi Simon,
I am in Australia, where we have been very fortunate with Covid, and my documents were all processed back in August 2020 when I received my “ready for scheduling” email. Case number 3***. My case is at NVC apparently. Given all this, what would you say my chances are? I will likely join the lawsuit too.
Thanks,
Harvey
May 16, 2021 at 14:33
You might have a chance since Sydney are doing well. The lawsuit might improve your chance.

Hello!
Thank you for your always useful information.
My case number is AS25xxx and I applied for an interview in Tokyo, Japan.
The US Embassy in Japan seems to have started a schedule of interviews for 23 people up to AS4900 on June 30th.
DS260 was submitted online in February.
Last week I was asked to resubmit the document image and sent it.
Should I just wait for the embassy interview in my case number?
I am also positive about participating in the proceedings.
Please give us some advice on the future outlook.
Thank you.
May 15, 2021 at 23:19
Your case number is high, and your documents are not processed, so the outlook is bleak.
You should decide whether to join the lawsuit or not.

There is no way to predict anything.
May 14, 2021 at 20:53
Dear BritSimon,
I am dv 2021 winner from Ethiopia and I had an interview appointment on last month April 09 and the Consular officer informed me in order to get visa i must submit identity document /proof of age / that means my visa is temporary refused under section 221(g) and i had submitted identity document on April 14 after that my case status is updated on April 28, May 07 and also May 10 but my case status is still ready.
Brit how long it takes to change status to administrative process for under 221g refusal.
With best regards.
May 15, 2021 at 04:09
It varies.
May 12, 2021 at 10:50
dear brit,
does sri lankan embassy work on dv interviews?
In the 2NL am i being directed to the website that we used to check the lottery results or is that any other website?
thank you
May 13, 2021 at 03:21
That is how you get your interview date.
May 11, 2021 at 23:03
Hello!
I am so sorry to bother you asking this kinda question.
My case no is AS17xxx and I applied to take place interview in RNG(BURMA).
The embassy will start scheduling interviews up to AS2800 in 30June.
According to my case number in our region, should I participate in lawsuit or still wait for the interview?
May 11, 2021 at 23:11
It’s your choice. You have very little chance without the lawsuit, somewhat better chance WITH the lawsuit.
May 11, 2021 at 22:42
Hi Brit,
my number is 2021AS00018XXX
since my region is Current, should I start preparing the AoS payment and documents right now?
thank you
May 11, 2021 at 23:00
You could ALREADY have submitted for I-485 package.
May 11, 2021 at 23:27
Thanks for the info Brit!
I was really confused because I don’t know when is the right time to send.
May 11, 2021 at 14:45
Hi Brit,
Thank you for your amazing work!
Could you explain would it beneficial for a high case number 2021EU336xx take part in Curtis Morrison Big lawsuit?
May 11, 2021 at 17:18
It might help. From the number of interviews scheduled (less than 10 at Frankfurt, low numbers elsewhere in EU) it is OBVIOUS that there will not be a happy ending for the vast majority of cases – and with your case as a high case number that is even more true for you. So your chances of interview without a lawsuit are almost zero. Your chances with a lawsuit are somewhat higher than that – although obviously still not guaranteed.
Is that clear enough?
May 11, 2021 at 03:46
Hi sir, I see 2nd NL for Kenyan case Numbers are not there on June. What might be the problem in Nairobi Embassy? I see other US Embassy in African countries are going on with DV2021 Interviews like Morocco, Algeria and others What is Wrong in Nairobi US Embassy?
May 11, 2021 at 05:16
THere are still cases “in transit” – so it is too soon to assume Nairobi has not accepted some interviews.
May 10, 2021 at 23:56
1000 2NLs sent for june? How come when we can only see 69 2NLs sent for june.
Please can you explain, didn’t they follow what they pick in the ceac data for june, or is there another way of checking the real one aside from ceac data check.
Am worried, I ought to have been schedule
May 10, 2021 at 21:35
Thanks britsimon for the great help and guidance.. if 2021 interview difficulties extend to 2022 what is the chance case AFR101XX for getting interview?
May 11, 2021 at 00:39
Pretty good
May 10, 2021 at 18:12
Hello,
When I try and log in to the CEAC status tracker website it says my case number is invalid. Do you have any advice for rectifying this?
Thanks,
Harvey
May 10, 2021 at 18:19
I should have added, my documents have been received and I received my “ready for scheduling” email back in August 2020. I am in Oceania, case number 3***
May 11, 2021 at 00:29
Remove leading zeros.
May 10, 2021 at 14:44
Hello Brit,
My case number is AF51xxx. We’re in may and uptil now I’ve not received letter to send support documents. Do you think I’ll go through it?
May 11, 2021 at 00:19
Not unless you send your documents, no. Send the bloody documents!
May 10, 2021 at 04:58
Dear Brit
Thanks for useful instruction you are providing regarding the DV lottery.
I am from Afghanistan and as i checked with embassy of Kabul they are still not opened for processing the DV cases.
“The Embassy have not started receiving interviews for DV2021 yet. Please wait and be patient. Additionally, please note that the National Visa Center (NVC) schedules all immigrant visa interviews.
Once we start scheduling DV applicants you will be contacted by NVC with interview instructions.
We hope this information is useful in responding to your questions. Please direct all future inquiries through our online inquiry form at https://af.usembassy.gov/visas/contact-us-faqs/.
Respectfully,
Consular Correspondence Team
U.S. Embassy Kabul
”
Is there still any hope to get Visa?
We have not heard anything from KCC as well and they have not send us email for requesting and submitting the documents.
May 10, 2021 at 23:33
It is very hard to guess what will happen over the next few months, you just have to wait and see.
May 9, 2021 at 10:01
Dear Brit,
I have yet to have my documents processed and I am part of the Goh lawsuit (ASxxx9xxx). I have been sending KCC an “are you satisfied with my documents?” email every 10 days. I submitted my documents in mid-March.
Assuming the Goh case is successful,
1) How long does it usually take for someone to fill out the I-134 Affidavit of Support? Days, weeks…?
2) Assuming all my police certificates are up to date, what are the critical documents I need for the interview that can lead to administrative processing?
3) Is there a website that tracks the latest case number with processed documents?
Thanks for your useful videos,
J
May 9, 2021 at 16:27
1. 1 hour.
2. Any document you need, but don’t have.
3. No
May 9, 2021 at 16:32
Thank you!
May 9, 2021 at 07:09
Hi Simon,
Always a pleasure to engage you in DV matters.
In your response to the lady above, I am left wondering. Does KCC send cases to embassies without consulting them? My worry is that for the about 1000 2NLs released last week, none was allocated to Nairobi embassy. It can be disastrous if this trend continues like this.
What is the reasoning behind this? Yet Nairobi serves several countries in the East African region!
Thanks!
May 9, 2021 at 16:21
There is some consultation happening, hence the unusual way they are sending 2NLs.
Yes this is going to be disastrous.
May 8, 2021 at 19:06
Hi Simon. It seems that the London embassy is not scheduling interviews. I know a case was mentioned last week but when I checked it out on CEAC it appeared that the case is pending a transfer from London to Yaounde as of 28/04/21 so it’s falsely showing under LND.
The Embassy is claiming that they have resumed all immigrant visa categories processing but I doubt we will see any 2NLs for June although they’re open and functioning.
I am ready for scheduling and have a very low EU CN (below 500) and will give it a try and move my case to my home country since they’ve done it for someone else recently. My home country is scheduling interviews and have given me the go ahead. I am also a plaintiff on one of the lawsuits.
1. If KCC ignores my request, is there a way I could negotiate a transfer through the London Embassy or that’s mission impossible?
2. Could we see some additional 2NLs next week?
Many thanks
May 8, 2021 at 21:10
1. Mission impossible. Until KCC schedules your case, the embassy has no control over it – they don’t know anything about you.
2. Yes
May 8, 2021 at 17:39
Hello Brit ! Thank you for your work.
I’m a little bit confuse.
Are there gonna be interviews in august and september (i’m asking in general, not for a specific country)
If yes do you think KCC already processed their DS260 and documents or not yet ?
Thank you for your answer
May 8, 2021 at 17:45
Yes there will be interviews in Aug/Sep.
Who will be lucky – we don’t know.
May 8, 2021 at 17:02
Hi Brit,
As Montreal is not accepting interviews and my case status is not ready, I would like to change the embassy to Israel as I have citizenship there. Do you foresee an issue to unlock my DS260 and change my home address from Canada to Israel (do they care to get a home address that belongs to my family where I don’t really live there but just visiting)? Also, do my children need to be citizens of Israel in order to be eligible to be interviewed in the JRS embassy? They are currently Canadian citizens. Thanks!
May 8, 2021 at 17:13
You can try. KCC may oblige.
May 7, 2021 at 05:53
Hi Brit,
About the docs for the interview. Do we have to prepare new police record clearance, or we bring the old one which is expired.
Thanks in advance
May 7, 2021 at 16:32
Take old and new.
May 7, 2021 at 16:59
Thank you. I used my old one. So I have to recover it.
And stll make a new one.
May 6, 2021 at 20:10
Hi! Please, anybody answer me. When I send the DS260 (birth certificate, etc.) document to the [email protected], I would get IMMEDIATELY an ACKNOWLEDGE response from the MAILSERVER that it got the files? OR only maybe some weeks later I would get an answer from the KCC. Thank you!

Your interview takes place in Paris embassy ?
May 8, 2021 at 22:44
Hello, so Paris is open to schedule interviews now ?
May 8, 2021 at 23:12
So far, no.
May 6, 2021 at 16:14
Good morning Brit.
I’m a careful reader of your blog and let me thank you in advance for your effort in it.
Monday May, 3rd I received my 2NL (EU 6XXX) and as instructed I tried to register my appointment for the date shown (2nd week of June) on the 2NL (that’s the procedure for my consulate).
I never read in your blog an issue like the one I’m facing here.
I was able to create the User but not to fulfill the registration due to the fact that the site ais.usvisa-info.com -at the very end of the registration procedure- says that my case number “is not ready for an appointment” and therefore I cannot register anything and cannot create the “applicant”.
I already contacted the Us Visa Information Service asking to fix the problem but they answered that my consulate has no received my case from KCC yet. Plus if I check on the Ceac Status website my case is still “at NVC” and not “in transit”.
Have you heard of similar problems before?
I already sent an email to my consulate and I’m waiting for their reply.
Beside waiting (again) do you have any suggestions?
Is there a risk my slot expires without registration?
(I know…I didn’t numbered the questions…
#numberthebloodyquestions!!!)
Best regards
May 6, 2021 at 18:43
Hi mate. In which European country are you?
May 7, 2021 at 16:21
This basically means you selected the wrong option when creating your profile. The systems vary, so I can’t tell you exactly what to pick – but you basically just need the account, you are not asking for another appointment.
May 12, 2021 at 07:46
Hello, could you please tell us, how long it took to receive the response that your documents are ok and the interview can be schedulede after you’ ve sent the email with documents? Thank you!
