Hi,
1, is mandatory for the spouse to get a ds260 confirmation since the principal applicant has received an appointment letter bearing their names
2 was I supposed to fill the spouse ds260 at the moment of filling my own since I enter single but situation changed before results announced
Thank you
January 12, 2018 at 18:07
Really. We have discussed this countless times. I have told you to contact the embassy. There is no point in you asking me these questions.
January 16, 2018 at 09:41

January 16, 2018 at 16:51
DV2014 is over. You cannot do anything with such an old “win”.

hi My wife had a marriage before me but when she apply for green card lottery she accidentally chose unmarried istead of divorced as a marital status and she won the lottery. but when we send the ds260 we wrote there that she had marriage before and she divorced. so is that acceptable at green card interview?
January 12, 2018 at 21:58
That is a risk. The only way to know the outcome is to attend the interview.
January 12, 2018 at 22:01
hi britsimon, do you still feel that case number 2018AF350*0 has a chance to get an interview?
January 12, 2018 at 23:23
Yes
January 13, 2018 at 00:53
Dear Simon,
I have a few concern regarding the supporting documents for the DV interview.
I have been living in the US for the past several years. I will go back to my birth country for the interview. 1.Do I need to provide US police record? 2. Do I need to provide all the old passports? I have looked at the related website, but I am still not sure. Thanks!
January 13, 2018 at 01:08
1. No
2. No
January 13, 2018 at 01:54
Hi brit. Please i have a concern. I am a DV 2018 Winner AF 12*** soon to be interviewed. I am the principal applicant with a husband and 2 kids. I played as married. But the issue is my husband for some reasons doesnt want to travel again to the US but says i should go with our youngest son who is a year old. Now my worry is
1- Does that pose any risk at my interview given that on the DS260 i filled that we are all travelling together
2- If no, will i need any legal document to show that i ve custody of the child? Even though we are not divorced?
3- is it adviceable i go with 1 child given that i am pregnant?
4- will it pose a financial doubt lookin at the fact that i will be a single mum in the US with 2 kids to take care of. Please i need your candid opinion. Thanks
January 13, 2018 at 03:57
1. Only from the point of view that the CO may doubt your ability to survive.
2. Yes you will possibly need that.
3. How are you going to make a living?
4. Yes.

You are probably talking about the visa bulletin. It will be available today around 7 pm Nepalese time.
January 13, 2018 at 15:32
I checked my status and it reads Ready with two case numbers 2018AF79** 01 ACC and 2018AF79** 02 ACC and with a notification message stating that I can attend my interview with my family member if we are scheduled 1
1, How do I fill my Spouse Ds260
2, how do I schedule for another appointment date
3, W2 from which period to which period of time
4, 1040 from which period to which period
Thank you
January 13, 2018 at 16:08
Look, I want to by sympathetic, but I have lost count how many times I have told you that ONLY the embassy can help you. So – questions 1 and 2 are pointless.
For 3 and 4, Accra are more interested in a host.
Now – don’t keep asking me. Follow my earlier instruction.
January 15, 2018 at 17:24
Hi Brit, a bit curious – if Accra post is interested in host with regards to W2 and 1040, how about in a case where my host doesn’t have a full time job and as such cannot take care of me and my family of five…do you advise I get I-134 and the rest from a family friend or you think it won’t matter at the interview?
January 15, 2018 at 18:59
When embassies ask about a host (instead of an I-134), they don’t ask about the financial position of the host.
January 15, 2018 at 19:23
Ok, thanks, I do appreciate your time.
January 13, 2018 at 17:30
Hy Brit,
Is there a way I could know how many cases are before me?
Thanks
January 13, 2018 at 23:13
Yes. Download the data file from Xarthisius’ site and deduce your position. Remove the holes (which have a status of “None”)
January 14, 2018 at 08:55
Hello Brit, can you please send me the Xarthsius link again, my computer broked, i don’t have it any more. Thank you!

January 14, 2018 at 00:52
Hello Simon,
I am Dv 2018 winner, married with two kids. I never get married before but in the past years in order to have two chances of winning, I used to accompany with someone else and send the dv application for two different years. My question is, Will this be a problem for me as a winner now?
Thank you
January 14, 2018 at 05:45
Yes possibly. Lying creates problems.
January 14, 2018 at 10:51
Thanks simon. Do they usually refer to previous years dv application of mine. In what way this can lead to a denial?
January 14, 2018 at 16:02
They can use the database of previous applications.
Lying leads to problems. You say you are telling the truth now – but were lying before. Maybe they will decide you cannot be trusted that what you are saying now is truthful. You will only know for sure at the interview.
January 14, 2018 at 11:43
I did this before i get married to my husband.we are married before 7 years.i won this dv with my husband. The time I send dv application with two different person that i did not really get married with is before 8 years.
Does stlil be a problem for the approval.
January 14, 2018 at 00:54
Hi Simon,
Somewhat of a ‘safety net’ question. My husband and I have DV Visas in our passports. We plan to travel/enter the USA (from Australia) a few days before the visa expires. We are entering in Hawaii and plan to travel to the mainland after the visa expires. I know Hawaii is the USA, but do you foresee any issues with not being on the mainland before the visa expires?
Cheers & thank you for your blog.
January 14, 2018 at 05:46
Hawaii is the same as the mainland.
January 14, 2018 at 02:05
Hi brit, i have been issued a visa and me and my wife will be traveling to usa for 1 week only to update our legal permanent residence status and than return back.
Q. Can we enter the usa for the 2nd time with the stamped passport only or PR card is also a requirement?
January 14, 2018 at 05:46
Stamped visa in your passport is enough.
January 14, 2018 at 09:38
Hi Brit How are you.
Me and my derivative visa approved January 10 I have a plan to wait a month and the Trump immigration policy affect Me?
Thanks
January 14, 2018 at 16:00
No
January 14, 2018 at 12:24
Hello Brit,
What is your expectation about future of GC Lottery with relation to Donald Trump’s Tuesday suggestion?
Appreciate your real thought if you do not mind to share!
January 14, 2018 at 16:05
I don’t want to speculate.
January 14, 2018 at 12:26
Hey Brit,
Im sorry, this may be a silly one but I can’t help wondering why your ealier predictions of EU cutoff vary so much from the current one. I’m mainly wondering, because your first assumptions were already based on the number of selectees in 2018, meaning, by then we already knew that 3 countries had a huge increase. What is difrent now that the data is published? Is it that you assumed more of these selectees were gathered in higher numbers, meaning the density until 33000 is higher then expected? Sry if thats self explanatory, but Im still wondering…
January 14, 2018 at 16:10
The entries changed radically, so the density is different.
January 14, 2018 at 16:29
hmmm. but isnt it the number of selectees that matters? I mean, the number of selectess stayed the same from July and now, so is the “surprise” effect that more selectees are allocated in the numbers below 33000?
January 14, 2018 at 16:51
Take a look at the DV2015 density chart in the link below. See how there was a sudden drop in density at about 16XXX, then the density remained unchanged.
https://britsimonsays.com/dv2015-analysis/
Compare that to this years chart. That makes it clear that there are more cases earlier in DV2018.
https://britsimonsays.com/2018-ceac-data-analysis/
January 14, 2018 at 16:36
Im so mad!. Sorry I use you plattform to blast my anger, but this ONE TIME i win the lottery seems to be the ONLY time in YEARS that CN333xx might not get called because entries changed. 33xx has always had a chance in ALL of the recent years. Man Im mad.
January 14, 2018 at 16:45
RELAX! There are MONTHS to go yet. Predictions at this point are not at all precise, and you have chosen to focus on the number, not my comments. Just try and relax and wait to see what happens.
January 14, 2018 at 18:05
I try. But on top of it i am a german – iranian dual citizen. So if I get lucky and will be scheduled towards the end of the fiscal year- my case will probably be stuck in AP well beyond september 31. Unless they decide to only look at the german passport.
January 14, 2018 at 17:27
Tomorrow is Dr. Martin Luther king Jr day. I think its a federal holiday. Will they release the VB tomorrow?
January 14, 2018 at 20:48
OMG.
OK, so maybe they will release on Monday or Tuesday. Which difference does it make? Is it so difficult to wait one more day instead of spamming this site and taking Brits time
January 15, 2018 at 05:58
We will see…
January 14, 2018 at 17:49
Hi Brit
Im a student on F1 visa in US and my sister is Palestinian currently live in Syria but born in Lybia holding a Palestinian travel document issued by syrian goverment and have won 2018 DV.
Im wondering will she be treated as syrian citizen and denied entry to the states since she live there now? Thanks
January 15, 2018 at 06:00
I don’t know.
January 14, 2018 at 20:57
Hi Simon!
How I might know if my ds-260 is being processed or not? My CN AS20185100
Thanks
January 15, 2018 at 06:02
If you submitted it, it is being processed.
January 14, 2018 at 22:11
Greetings sir,
After obtaining my I-20 form how much chance do I have to get a visa? Especially with the Trump administration trying to make things hard on immigrant, does it affect one’s chances to be granted a students visa?
January 14, 2018 at 23:16
He only answers DV questions………
January 15, 2018 at 06:04
🙂
January 15, 2018 at 06:03
I only answer DV lottery questions.
January 15, 2018 at 01:04
We have been selected for the DV-2018 Lottery. In May of the past year (2017) we filled the DS 260 form but still our appointment hasn’t been scheduled. I have a daughter who sooner will be turning 21 years old; should I communicate with the embassy in order to schedule the appointment before her birthday ?
January 15, 2018 at 06:05
What is your case number (with region) and when is her 21st birthday?
January 15, 2018 at 12:48
My case number is 13.. and region is South America. Her Birthday is in January 2018.
January 15, 2018 at 14:44
When you answer, it helps if you are specific.
So – Case number is 2018SA13XX – correct? In that case the interview cannot be held for several months (until your case number is ready). That is a matter of law, and your daughters age does not change that. They will not interview you early because of your daughters age.
However, there is some good news. Your daughter gets some period of protection under the CSPA law. This year you can add 210 days to her birthday (which means some date in August – I don’t know because you were not specific). As long as your interview takes place before the end of August, your daughter can be approved.
Make SURE you totally understand the law, because the interviewing officer might not, and might refuse your daughter by mistake. If YOU allow that to happen, with the changes to the law being suggested, you might not ever get a chance to get her a Green Card. Read my link below. Study it, and become expert.

January 16, 2018 at 20:52
Thanks very much Mr.Brit.
January 15, 2018 at 04:29
Hi sir, I checked my status on ceac site and it shows READY with two case numbers
WHAT DOES IT MEAN? please don’t be angry with me
January 15, 2018 at 06:07
It means you were scheduled. But then that is OBVIOUS because you attended the interview.
January 15, 2018 at 06:39
Dear Simon,
Me and my son were issued a visa, but he is with his mother and for some reason I can not take him with me to the US before the expiry of the visa for him, now if I go alone would it a problem for me to re-apply for him later on? he is still in school so if needed he can wait few years. but for him not using his DV visa would it affect his chances If I want to apply for him after he finishes school? thanks
January 15, 2018 at 06:42
No problem.
January 15, 2018 at 07:07
Vb not published yet?
January 15, 2018 at 07:32
Truly we attended the interview but were not interviewed because of the ds260 of my Spouse that was not in.
WHAT may be the next outcome please
January 15, 2018 at 08:58
What?!
Can you tell us more details please?
January 15, 2018 at 09:19
We were scheduled for interview on December 20th 2017. After paying for our Visa fees, we were asked to fill out the spouse DS 260 and book for another appointment date because I had my own confirmation page, but our fingers prints were taken and they made entry of our data. when we went outside, we could see that my case has been locked of which we had not been able to fill the spouse ds260 meanwhile my appointment letter bears our two names, I had been sending emails to the embassy for unlock Request but to no avail. I could only see that my case has been updated which shows READY with two case numbers 2018AF7*** 01 ACC and 2018AF7** 02 ACC. All our documents were given back to us except the medicals. We can’t book for another appointment without the confirmation number. That’s my issue. I need advice
January 15, 2018 at 09:26
Hi Simon, I have a question regarding Xarthisius’s data file. Is it static or does it get updated automatically and constantly, as new cases are being processed, etc? Thank you.
January 15, 2018 at 13:53
csv files are static, but I upload the new version every few days. As you can see from the charts there hasn’t been that much change in 10 days since we started scraping.
January 15, 2018 at 14:00
Thank you for all of your brilliant work, the best of luck in the USA, you really deserve it. You are a perfect example of the talent America will lose if the lottery is discontinued.
January 15, 2018 at 16:01
Thank you for your kind words!
January 15, 2018 at 14:45
Dear Brit ,
I am the one who won 2018 diversity visa program in last october 2017..So it was a long time to wait the the process.I started to become impatient.
İt is done finally today ? ı got my passport with the new visa.
But there are some romours that President Trump is going to stop diversity program as soon as he can becouse of last New York attack.
So i am started being exited what is going on about the program.
I have some question if you will have time for me.
Cancellation is possible even i got my diversity visa , should i be hurry up to enter the to U.S first time.?
İf the program stops ,is it affected by those who have received the visa but have not yet gone to America?
My medical examination will be end 12th of this March , what is going to be happen if i can not go to U.S. in March?
January 15, 2018 at 14:54
Trump’s decisions do not affect people with visas, or people already in the USA with their GCs.
You MUST enter before your visa expires – it won’t be extended.
January 15, 2018 at 15:09
Hi sir Brit please can I be qualified if I am currently studying in the Senior High School and I am Ghana
January 15, 2018 at 15:12
Selectees must meet education requirements by the time of the interview. Are you a selectee???
January 15, 2018 at 15:29
When is it going to be released… March visa bulleting?
January 15, 2018 at 15:51
Hi,
If I have a namesake can i participate in the diversity visa lottery or my submission will be disapproved?
January 15, 2018 at 15:53
Everyone has a namesake. The question is whether YOU are being honest.
January 15, 2018 at 15:58
I’ve been honest, but everytime i go to USA and i have to go throught TSA they always ask me a lot of questions and then they let me pass; but the last time the officer told me that i have someone with my name and they check my data and let in to USA; i’ve went back to my country and participate for the DV-2019 but i don’t know if that can affect in someway my participation
January 15, 2018 at 16:04
Well it is a lottery with a tiny chance of winning – so no point in worrying about it now.
January 15, 2018 at 18:18
Hello,
I live in the UK. My GP requested 35£ per member of my family to release our immunisation records. My question is whether we can attend the US medical appointment without those record -at least for my husband and I since my two kids have their red books-
Thank you.
January 15, 2018 at 19:01
You could ask the physician, but really – 140 quid is not worth worrying about compared to all the other costs of moving to the USA.
January 18, 2018 at 10:38
Hi Brit, please my first name has a comma before my given names on my initial registration form while in my ds-260 form, the comma is after my given names. please will it cause a problem at my interview ?
January 18, 2018 at 14:27
No
January 15, 2018 at 18:44
hi
i won the DV lottery of 2018. i was engaged by the time i received the congratulations and filled the DS form. after i got married i got the form unlocked and included my wife. she also filled the form and we had our appointment on January 9th. our visas got rejected and the reason given to us was we provided material misrepresentation. everything we provided is genuine but we are told there is no appeal and we are permanently ineligible. while checking our status on CEAC it says’administrative processing’.
1. what does that exactly mean?
2. how can we waive the permanent ineligibility?
January 15, 2018 at 19:03
They believe you tried some sort of fraud. There is no appeal process – your chance was at the interview.
January 15, 2018 at 19:19
Hi am Roland from Cameroon pls just wish fine out when will I be due for interview thanks
January 15, 2018 at 19:57
Ahhh yes Roland from Cameroon. Out of the 25 million people who entered the lottery I was careful to memorize your interview date in particular.
January 16, 2018 at 09:28
Best reply ever i’ve read on this site ? Even better than this that you can unlock ds260 1783 times. I really, really admire your patience…

Hello Sir, I’m Bernard,an orphan.I applied for the DVL
2018 as a high school student, but unfortunately I couldn’t
graduate due to some financial problems…My question
is what do I do if I happen to be a winner…?
January 15, 2018 at 20:04
You may not be able to qualify. But it’s a lottery – not a “plan”.
January 15, 2018 at 20:18
Ok thank you but what about if I continue the school again, I can try and go again but will I be out if I don’t graduate before I happen to be a winner…?
January 15, 2018 at 21:26
Yes
January 15, 2018 at 20:24
All those who will have their interviews in Dar-es-salaam, Tanzania kindly message me here so we can share our interview experiences and process and share contact if need be.

January 15, 2018 at 21:05
Hi Simon

January 15, 2018 at 21:11

Thanks☺️☺️☺️
January 15, 2018 at 21:26

January 15, 2018 at 21:09

January 15, 2018 at 21:27
Well it’s the same answer. See if you win first.
January 15, 2018 at 22:36
HELLO BRIT, HOW ARE YOU? I WANT TO KNOW THE FOLLOWING:
IN VENEZUELA THE APPOINTMENTS AGAIN TO APPLY FOR VISA TOURISM AND BUSINESSES, SINCE THESE WERE SUSPENDED FOR AT LEAST 2 YEARS AGO; THIS IS FROM 17/01/2018, I WOULD LIKE TO APPLY FOR VISA TOURISM, BUT I WANT TO KNOW IF THIS AFFECTED MY VISA OF DIVERSITY PROCESS ?, AS I AM PRESELECTED IN DV-2018 AND WAITING FOR A POSSIBLE INTERVIEW THIS YEAR . MY CASE NUMBER FOR SOUTH AMERICA IS HIGH (22XX). I WOULD NOT WANT ONE THING TO ANNULL THE OTHER SINCE IN THE VISA TOURISM ONE SAYS THAT IT IS ONLY TO VISIT THE COUNTRY A TIME, WHILE IN VISA DIVERSITY ONE MANIFESTS THE NEED TO GO TO LIVE IN THE UNITED STATES.
January 16, 2018 at 00:49
Applying for an immigrant visa can cause problems for non immigrant visas. Your DV case number is high, and you may never get an interview. If you have not already submitted your DS260, you should probably wait and see if you get a chance of being current.
January 16, 2018 at 04:13
His Simon
Where the visa bulletin will comes for march?

January 16, 2018 at 16:53
You just explain what you want.
January 16, 2018 at 10:10
Hello I am a Dv 2018 winner
My case number is 2018AF17xxx ,but I got married 6 six months ago and I added my spouse to immigrate with me to US. We completed filling our Ds 260 form ,November 2017,latter did we know that we misspell just a letter in my wife city of birth. We decided to write KCC to Unlock the both of us Ds 260 form so we can correct the error but, KCC only Unlock my wife Ds 260 form as for me the Principal Applicant , KCC said that my Case was Current and they could not Unlock my form. Mr.Brit the only option we have was to correct the Unlock Ds 260 for my that Kcc unlock and we never wasted time submitted to Kcc and they sent my wife a confirmation letter.
our question are: 1.Will the affect our interview, because our case was already on current than I Unlock my wife Ds 260 form?
