As I have mentioned I will try to extract and publish the CEAC data twice a month to provide a feeling for progress as we go through the year. So today I am publishing the mid month file for January 15, 2016.
This is a FULL extract, meaning I have pulled all numbers even though many of the numbers are not current. People can use this file to see the progress or for further analysis.
Here is the file itself.

Thanks a lot for the timely update Simon,i can see the “At NVC” numbers for the AF region which are in the current range will turn up to be no shows-they are still constant . Hope KCC will take into consideration these cases and improve the cut off compared for the last FY
January 16, 2016 at 15:18
Those are not the no shows. They are non reposes or people that submitted late. If they stay NVC until the end they will be non responses.
No shows are people that send in their DS260, get scheduled (i.e. show ready) but do not show up for the interview.
If I had to guess I would say KCC will handle those no shows like last year – what can they do?
January 16, 2016 at 08:13
Dear Brit, please I will like to ask you, I did my interview January 7,2016 and the consular told me to wait for 2 to 3 days to review my document and place me on AP, up to date I have not had from them, but on the CEAC website shows my status was updated on the 12 January 2016 and shows Ready on top ….pls what does this mean… I look forward to hear from u….thanks
January 16, 2016 at 15:15
It doesn’t mean anything certain – just wait – hopefully it will change to Issued within a few days.
January 16, 2016 at 08:17
Dear brit, thankx a lot,pls how long does it take for the forms to be In Transit, cos I submitted mine one month ago and it’s still at NVC,yet u said am current. Thankx
January 16, 2016 at 15:14
You don’t mean in transit – you mean processing. As I said your number is current but YOU delayed your case but submitting late. So now you must wait and be patient! You will wait around 3 months for your forms to be processed. Then you will wait to be scheduled….
January 16, 2016 at 08:19
Ma case is AF97XX, thankx
January 18, 2016 at 15:26
Tina u went current long time ago y dont u contact your embasy to schedule interview or email me i help u through [email protected]

January 16, 2016 at 23:48

January 16, 2016 at 22:15
Hey !!
This is for sure not your case number !! If you wanna ask just put your real case number and don’t put random numbers !! It’s not belong to you and it’s not Nebal !!
January 18, 2016 at 10:05
ignorant…
January 18, 2016 at 21:22
Nothing to say
Thanks and good luck!!
January 16, 2016 at 10:31
Simon, you had previously mentioned that a January publication will indicate the max number of cases reached for the whole fiscal year. Have you gotten an answer for AS region? March shows case 4900, I was wondering why the region’s pace is slowest of all. Please advise.
January 16, 2016 at 15:12
I have never mentioned I would include the prediction in a CEAC file. The prediction is exactly that, a prediction. The CEAC data is data. THe pace for AS isn’t “the slowest region of all” – please read my analysis posts where I explain that I think the cutoff for AS could be similar to last year. I short – read more…
January 16, 2016 at 10:41
Hi Boss, thank u for the blog u have created to help dv winners throughout the whole world. Please glory be to God I have received my visa and it will expire on June 2016. My question is that i am a level 400 university student which hopefully I will complete on July which is my last semester exams but looking at the visa expiring date it means I will not be able to write my exams. So pls it possible that I go to USA to activate and come back around July to write my final exams or i should defer this second semester course and come back to write later on? Thank u and waiting for ur response.
January 16, 2016 at 15:08
Yes, many people do a short activation trip and then leave USA to wrap things up.
January 16, 2016 at 13:44
Hi,simon.in Asia cases 8426.whatz that number mean exactly?
January 16, 2016 at 15:06
Number of individual cases. Some are 1 selectee – some have family.
January 16, 2016 at 16:09
is it equal to visa bulletin 4500?
January 16, 2016 at 16:25
NO! You are too confused.
The CEAC data shows every case – each case has a case number. There are several tabs of data – one per region. Each case has a status.
These are all the cases published by the government – all the selectees. Not the ones that are current. Not what I expect to be current. ALL THE CASES.
January 16, 2016 at 16:29
Still have no idea and confused .how can can predict cutoff with this data.thanks.
January 16, 2016 at 17:32
You have seen the analysis posts, and you can see the CEAC data, but you can’t seem to understand any of it. So – I can only repeat that we cannot be certain about the exact cutoff point until the end. Your number is in a risky range – I already told you that. All you can do is wait and see what happens. That means you will have to wait until July.

hi simon , i am a dentist , the person who was accepted me to go to his place accepted that give the the i134 form but will not give me his tax clearance . i have about 30 000 dollar in my account , is that enough for not refusing me ?
January 16, 2016 at 18:30
It should be enough to clear you, even with a couple of derivatives. However, it is ultimately up to the CO.
January 16, 2016 at 19:03

Hello Simon thanks for the help you have given to us. My problem is I have done my interview already n I was asked to come on the 17th Dec 2016 for my package but they told me my case is still on process n they will call me when its ready, but I have checked n it shows my visa was issued on the 23rd Dec but till now I have not received a call from the embassy. What do you think I should do? Thanks
January 16, 2016 at 21:57
Contact the embassy.
January 16, 2016 at 21:47
I think the success rate in Africa is high this year looking at the update. It can have negative effects on those with high case numbers. .
January 16, 2016 at 22:04
I don’t see the success rate particularly high – but if it were true – yes that would be negative for high case numbers.
January 16, 2016 at 23:25
Yes.
January 17, 2016 at 02:59
Hi simon i am from ethiopia my case number 22xxx i submit ds 260 form from 8 months ago when i get 2nd nl and enterview?

You can only unlock via email to them.

January 17, 2016 at 16:04
Surely you have heard me talking about backlog???
If AF12 did not send in their DS260 at all, they will never have an interview scheduled.
If AF 13 sent their DS260 in May, but AF 12 sent theirs in December that would mean that AF13 got an interview as soon as they were current whilst AF12 caused themselves delay. It takes about 3 months to process the DS260. So – a high number sending early doesn’t get an early interview (before their number is current) BUT a LOW number can cause delay by sending in the forms late.
January 17, 2016 at 13:10
Dear Simon
Where I can find explanation of all the shortcuts in these file ? NVC THT SOF CHS ANK TIA…?
Is it rekated to cities ? Can you give me link tou your earlier posts that explains how to analize this data ?
Kind Regards
January 17, 2016 at 16:00
Most of those are embassies – this link will let you look up embassy names.
https://britsimonsays.com/embassy-league-table-statistics-refusalapissued/
NVC is a status – you can read about those statuses here:

Hi brits my case no is As48## when is it possible 2nd letter ?This case no is safe or not?
January 17, 2016 at 16:15
Safe. 2NL around February or March.
January 17, 2016 at 18:24
Hi Simon,
I have got a question regarding the DS 260 form. I have filled my secondary school name, but I have ust realized I have misspelled last letter, so instead of Vinohradska, I have filled Vinohradksa. Do you think it is a big mistake, that needs to be corrected or should I just mention it at interview? Also my DS260 says it expires on 31/01/2016. Is it something to worry about? My CN is EU23XXX.
Thanks a lot-
January 17, 2016 at 18:36
That is not a big deal – no need to change it.
January 17, 2016 at 19:33
Dear Simon,
Excuse me. I do not understand
In your list many case numbers status is at NVC for example
EU 7 2016EU7 At NVC
EU 8 2016EU8 At NVC
EU 9 2016EU9 At NVC
EU 11 2016EU11 At NVC
Is it meaning these case numbers still waiting. (They havent received their visa appointment email yet????)
January 17, 2016 at 19:36
And I want to know What is the meaning current and ready
January 17, 2016 at 21:19

Hi sir. I filled in the ds 260 form in Dec. 2015 but I realized later that a mistake is on my passport. Can i write kcc about this. I wanna change the passport. Pls tell me, won’t it bring any bring any problem to my case. My CN is 2016af48
January 17, 2016 at 21:43
Obviously -= the impact will depend on the nature of the mistake on your passport. In the interview they will want to see the new and old passports – with an explanation for the change. You have several months to sort this out. Apply for the new passport and once you have it, unlock your form and update it.
January 17, 2016 at 22:48
Thnx sir. The mistake I had on the passport is my present address. They placed my home town to my present address. And I also made mistake on my high school address. These are the two mistakes I had on the ds 260 form. I really want to know if kcc won’t have any problem with my case due to the changes. Cn is 2016af 48 thnx sir
January 17, 2016 at 22:51
You don’t have to get a new passport for that – and the DS260 does not need to be unlocked.
January 18, 2016 at 08:17
Thanks Simon. I have one more qustion. All of us famiy name is Hasanov but my dughters family name is Hasanli. My doughter is 3. And in my ds 260 my doughter surname has written hasanov instead of Hasanli. Must i change it?? Is it serious mistake?
January 18, 2016 at 15:39
It must match her passport – change it.
January 19, 2016 at 17:50
Do you mean i have to change my doughters passport?
January 19, 2016 at 18:18
Of course not. The DS260!
January 20, 2016 at 12:01
How can i change my doghters name in ds 260?
January 20, 2016 at 12:22
How can i change my doughters name in my ds 260???
January 20, 2016 at 18:15
You email KCC to unlock the form and make the change once they unlock it for you.
January 20, 2016 at 19:08
1.Won’t be late my interviw date if i unlock my ds 260. My CN 2016EU22###
2.IS it serious mistake??? Can i change it of my interview day at embassy?
Please help me.
January 20, 2016 at 19:10
Oh man. You are going around and around. I have told you what I would do. You have time to do it. It is now up to you to decide what to do.
January 18, 2016 at 08:38
Upto how much cn 1090 visa were issued 4 nepal? Were can i check that
January 18, 2016 at 15:38
All that data is in the file – linked above.
January 18, 2016 at 08:59
Hi mr.brit when shall we expert 2nl for march interview
January 18, 2016 at 15:38

January 18, 2016 at 09:46
Hello Simon,
my host has been in USA for like 2 years.
He went under this same dv program. can this one be a problem on time of approving my visa
Peter AF
January 18, 2016 at 15:37
No problem.
January 18, 2016 at 11:55
hi brit can i ask u something?my interview in cairo was in Wednesday 13/1/2016 and the counsel officer tell me he agree to approve me a visa congratulation your passport will send in tow weeks by aramax when i check status visa i saw my case administrative proseccing why?please respond me
January 18, 2016 at 15:31
It is common to see a short period (about 2 days) of AP just before it is updated to issued.
January 18, 2016 at 13:51
Hi Brit,
after unlocking and correction, will one be required to print anything again after resubmitting ds260 or just the innitial that at the first submission printing is enough?
January 18, 2016 at 15:30
You don’t need to print it again.
January 18, 2016 at 16:06
This is quite an unrelated question, but . . . I put my place of birth on the EDV as place zzzzzz but in my birth certificate and passport it is xxxxxxx. Both zzzzzz and xxxxxx are places within the same country. Am I at risk of having to wrestle with the consular officer regarding this disparity?
January 18, 2016 at 16:18
It is normally not a problem as long as the CO doesn’t distrust you because of the mistake.
January 18, 2016 at 16:10
Hello Simon, at the page where we learnt we won the lottery, my case number was written with stars at the begining of the page and at the end of the page (EX: **EU201600022xxx**) but a few days ago it changed and at the begining of the page there is no more case number with stars, but at the bottom of the page still remain. Do you have any idea why they changed it? Thank you very much.
January 18, 2016 at 16:19
You can ignore it.
https://britsimonsays.com/about-change-in-1nl-showing-highlighted-case-number/
January 18, 2016 at 16:34
Does requesting to unlock the DS260 form to include a new born baby cause significant delay in case processing? I intend to resubmit on the same day it is unlocked because I will have the baby’s passport and birth certificate. I submitted my form on June 15, 2015. My case number is AF29xxx.
January 18, 2016 at 17:13
No delay at all.
January 18, 2016 at 21:45
Hello Simon!
My case number has been current since October, however I submitted my DS260 on august, meaning it was a late submission. It was unlocked twice on october first and on october 23rd and submitted within the very same day of the unlock.
As far as I know, (I’ve been told by the KCC itself) my case finished processing on December 16th, 2015. Sadly, I did not make it to the February interviews.
However, when I contact the KCC via email (last time I got a reply from them was on January 8th, I meant to call today but it is a federal holiday so the KCC isn’t working), when I contact the KCC all I get is the generic “Your forms have been received and pending further embassy review”.
When I check on the CEAC website the status of my case, it tells me that it is “at the NVC”, it doesn’t show as on transit or anything.
My questions are the following:
1. Does it usually take this long for an embassy to schedule an interview?
2. Is there a delay between the time a DS260 form is processed to the moment the case sent to the embassy? And what exactly is this “embassy processing”?
3. Lastly, I know you can’t predict the future; but based on the information I gave you and the stats you’re keeping on the DV2016; do you think I will be getting a March interview?
Thank you!
g.
January 18, 2016 at 23:57
Your forms were processed too late for the batch of interviews that were scheduled in December. There is only one batch per month. So – that explains the delay. You will be scheduled for a March interview – and will get your 2NL within a week or so.
January 19, 2016 at 09:42
hello Brit, I didn’t print my first submision confirmation page in july but printed the unlocked confirmation page in november. please is this a problem? can I show my unlocked version? Also, can I count on going curent next VB with cn af20xxx?
January 19, 2016 at 16:18
Shouldn’t be a problem – but you might be able to get a better screenshot by reviewing the locked data (click on the completed link)
Most likely current next VB.
January 19, 2016 at 11:23
BritSimon
I submitted my DS-260 January and my case number is AF10106. When should I expect interview?
January 19, 2016 at 16:16
May/June.
January 19, 2016 at 20:15
dear ,britsimon for example AF region ican n’t get exactly
Meaning the figure 55951 on column of max case number in CEAC compare with the nexet column published selectees 45034 ..We thank your efforts with us
January 19, 2016 at 22:01
Each case can contain more than one person – a principal selectee and any derivatives. There are gaps between the case numbers. So – the highest case number assigned is 55951 but there are not that many cases.
January 19, 2016 at 22:53
Now clear thanks alot
January 19, 2016 at 23:11
Hi sir. Thnx so much for your rapid response. We are dv 2016 winners, CN AF48 but due some passports issues, we filled in the ds 260 forms dec. 2015. My wife is the principal applicant and we didn’t realize that a mistake is on my passport until we summited the form. The mistake on my passport is, they placed my home town to my address. We gave kcc one address but my passport is carrying my home as my address making it different from my wife address. We also made a mistake on the ds 260 form about my school address. Can we write kcc stating that I want to change my passport. Won’t they have problem with us. Thnx sir I really want to know
January 19, 2016 at 23:50
I have answered this already. The address in the passport is not important – so I personally would not change anything. However, if you want to change the passport – that is up to you.
January 20, 2016 at 04:22
thankyou so much mr. simon for your advice, may God bless you, i,m happy to say that i was put on AP for only 3 wks en now i have my visa with me, praise b to God, thx en thx alot brits.
January 20, 2016 at 05:13
Great!
January 20, 2016 at 05:03
Simon, Which region has a high chance to go current from Africa or Asia ?? What do you think?
January 20, 2016 at 05:13
Neither region has a high chance to go current. Of the two, AF is probably less overcrowded than AS.
January 20, 2016 at 05:55
Thank you for the answer Simon, Did you update your analysis concerning latest CEAC date, As i seen the date , derivative rate is 1.5 for Asia until the current case numbers. Am i correct ?
January 20, 2016 at 06:23
No you are incorrect – the derivative rate for AS up to now is 2. Exclude the at NVC and in transit cases – because those cases can only have 1 selectee (i.e. we don’t know the family numbers on those cases yet).
January 20, 2016 at 06:05
Hello Mr.Brit please when did April interviews will received their 2NL
January 20, 2016 at 06:15
At the end of February.
January 20, 2016 at 06:45
Hi there. AS11000+ numbers. No luck huh? Should I even submit the application in February?
January 20, 2016 at 06:55
I can’t be certain at this point – but if they run it like last year, then it looks bad. The only joy might come if they use the spare visas from EU.
January 20, 2016 at 12:02
Let us hope they will consider this untested field Simon (the redistribution of visas),otherwise the high CN holders have nowhere to go.
January 20, 2016 at 14:31
Hi Brit,
Has there been such visa reallocation to other regions in recent past? This reallocation is discretionary within the ceiling of total 50,000 max in a year and 7% per country, there is no region ceiling??
January 20, 2016 at 18:13
The rules that control the lottery allow for that sort of re-allocation but that does not mean they will do it. We won’t know for sure until later. It would have to respect the 50k and 7% limits.
January 20, 2016 at 12:44
Dear brit what is the respone rate of nepal till now?
January 20, 2016 at 18:14
You have the data – please filter and calculate yourself.
