So – 2NLs for November interviews have started!
Generally these come out as in batches over a period of a few hours or a couple of days at most. If you expect your 2NL and you have NOT had it within a day or two, it probably means you submitted your DS260 late. Last month they had processed DS260s up to late May (with a handful of early June submissions). Once people start seeing their 2NLs we will be able to gather feedback (see below) for those that get their 2NLs. That feedback allows us to know how far along they have got with the backlog of DS260 submissions.
It would be GREAT if those that received their 2NLs would add a reply to this message saying when they submitted their DS260. A survey like that helps us understand the processing time for the DS260 and let’s us understand the backlog.
Now – if you do not get your expected interview, please come back here and read updates to this page to see the feedback I will have received.
****Latest DS260 submission known to have been received so far***
Last three that I know of – June 24, 26 and 29.
There are several cases where people have not got there 2NLS with submission from mid/early June. So – I would say the majority of June was handled, but not all – and don’t forget – not all DS260s will take the same time to process. So – you might have submitted on the 15th and NOT get your 2NL while some other current case submitted on the 29th and got their 2NL…..

Hi BritSimon,
My Case no 2016AS9xxx and I submitted my DS-260 form on 03 Sep, 2015. Also, I didn’t receive the 2NL yet.
Greatly appreciate your help.
February 10, 2016 at 14:21
The processing of cases is ordered – your number is not current for interview yet. It is a high number so it will hopefully be processed at the end. I say hopefully meaning there is some risk that your number is too high, and that you will not get an interview at all. You will have to wait and see.

Hi VR
Congratulation…could you please share your interview experience?what questions were you asked?Hoping to get your response…Thanks
November 24, 2015 at 06:05
Hello Arjun,
Thank you.
You dont need to be worried about interview. Its very simple and not more than 2 minutes.
If you are married, they may ask you where you both met, when and where you both got married, and to show some photographs. I am single and was asked 4 questions:
1. Have you ever been in other countries more than a year?
2. Are the documents you submitted true?
3. Do you have spouse?
4. Do you have children?
Visa approved
Documents Needed:
1. Birth Certificate and photocopy
2. Passport
3. Medical report
4.Transcript of all degree and photocopy
5. Police Report and photocopy
6. Translations and photocopy
7. Welcome Letter ( If your US address is changed)
(Take all the documents you prepared.)
All the best !!

October 28, 2015 at 02:33
Hello Brit,
I called the embassy(Kathmandu, Nepal)yesterday inquiring about whether we should prepare financial documents or not. They informed nothing regarding financial document saying they are not given permission to do that. They said prepare if you like. But later i found the list of documents needed ( provided by the embassy) there is written Complete US address but no financial documents need to be submitted. But i have seen many people(selectees) talking about this. What do you think, should i prepare the document?
The embassy gave a link(www.ustraveldocs.com/np) to create profile. Why we must create a profile?
October 28, 2015 at 03:49
It is rarely asked for in Nepal as they expect a US based sponsor. It is up to you to decide how to prepare.
The travedocs is the courier to get your passport.
November 5, 2015 at 10:07
Will my sponsors tax payment record(2014)work as a financial document?
November 5, 2015 at 11:06
Hi Brit, I was reading US Embassy Medical Exam Information, and this is one statement that capture: “The fee for all DNA testing, regardless of age, is U.S. $40” as for my country Liberia-Monrovia. my question are:
1. Will we have to do DNA testing for all our children
2. If no, which category of child/children have to do the test.
3. Do all embassy request for DAN testing for DV applicants.
November 6, 2015 at 01:21
DNA testing is sometimes required – but not always.
October 26, 2015 at 04:27

October 26, 2015 at 04:46
Smoking is not an issue.
October 26, 2015 at 00:30
Dear Simon
In Nepal embassy dv selectees can take only welcome letter with full US address but not affidavit of support. Is it right?Pls suggest….Thanks

My case number is 17000, is it current? Thanks for your assistance

October 19, 2015 at 00:06
hi simon , i resubmitted my DS 260 today , minor changes. added my high school info, my current degree program and change in designation lead analyst to senior team lead projects ( my designation is a major confusion but checked with my HR department it should go as Senior team lead not lead analsyst.
Would above cause major delay simon, just curiosity.
October 19, 2015 at 01:59
I don’t think so.
October 19, 2015 at 03:22
luv u simon
October 18, 2015 at 07:47

October 17, 2015 at 20:22
I submitted my ds260 on August 3rd. Does dat means i might be called around Dec?…….THANKS!!
October 17, 2015 at 22:23
No, I would not expect you to get a December interview. More like January, possibly February.
October 17, 2015 at 18:05
Hi what if I have not submitted my form ds260
October 17, 2015 at 18:31
You cannot get an interview without submitting your DS260. The DS260, once submitted will take around 3 months to process.
October 17, 2015 at 04:38
Your case number is now current for interview processing. Once the interview date has been scheduled, you will receive notification via email to check http://www.dvlottery.state.gov.
Finally, I received the above email from KCC yesterday.
October 17, 2015 at 05:51
Great – you will have a December interview.
October 16, 2015 at 18:29
should all of us who are current for december interview recieved the above nofification like KHARIUKI OWN
October 17, 2015 at 01:21
Not everyone will have submitted the DS260 at the right time…
October 16, 2015 at 17:43
ofcourse yes
October 16, 2015 at 05:08
Your forms were received and pending further embassy review.
The above email was sent to me by KCC. This was sent before the VB was published – 07/09/2015.My CN was also current in both October and November VBs – 26xx.
Now, can the 2nd scenario (your case is current for interview processing) apply to my case.
Say hi to Sofia.
October 15, 2015 at 21:24
hi brit what is the difference between these two KCC replies. 1.your forms were received and pending further embassy review and 2.your case is current for interview processing. thanks
October 15, 2015 at 23:54
1 means the ds260 is completed.
2 means that AND they are scheduling the interview in the current batch. If someone got 2 right now it means they will have a December interview.
October 11, 2015 at 19:17
Hello,sir
Great work you are doing thumbs up,
Have one question i m current for December Eu,i submit ds on 15 of May i would like to change something now and unlock the form i small mistake, will this delay my interview or the original sub have some advantages
Thank you
October 11, 2015 at 21:53
Delay or not depends on the change you make and the timing of your case in terms of the case number.
October 9, 2015 at 21:52
My interview on 5 November i am checking my application visa status it give me invalid this normal or some problems
October 9, 2015 at 22:24
If you mean CEAC – it is normal that it errors because 2016 cases are not loaded yet.
October 9, 2015 at 18:47
Who does the review of ds260, is it KCC or the embassy-Or they mean the same thing.
October 9, 2015 at 18:52
KCC. The embassy don’t know anything about you until your case is scheduled….
October 9, 2015 at 19:03
Then, what does this mean, “your forms have been received and pending further embassy review for the continuation of your visa processing” . Help me understand.
October 9, 2015 at 19:10
It means the DS260 is processed and the case will be passed to the embassy when the interview is scheduled.
October 9, 2015 at 19:29
Does this suggest I might get my 2nl this month for a December interview. CN 26xx.
October 9, 2015 at 22:47
Yes.
October 9, 2015 at 00:01
Thank you. Just a wild guess: 1K?
October 9, 2015 at 00:03
I don’t do wild guesses.
🙂
October 8, 2015 at 22:26
Hi Simon,
What’s your guess regarding the cut-off number in the next bulletin for EU region. Will the pace slow down or can we still expect a decent increase?
October 8, 2015 at 22:52
I would be surprised if we did not slow down in EU (and all regions, frankly). The backlog is very obvious and the 12500 number is way ahead of where we “should” be – so the majority of interview slots will go to cases already current. So – we might see some increase, but not “big”.
October 8, 2015 at 21:44
Dear Simon
While filling DS260 form in current work I wrote lecturer because at that time I was working as lecturer(part time) in college.I completed my 1st semester class and I have no class in 2nd sem right now as my teaching subject has been removed from the course from this sem. Now my 1st sem class will begin from December.Currently I have no job. While updating form I did not change it because I was not sure about my interview month. My interview is in November so can I change it at interview or not?Actually I will be engaged in my job from December onward. What should I do?Please suggest…
October 8, 2015 at 02:47
hi brit i am guiding my friend for 2017 application. the problem is he dosnt have high school diploma instead he has high school certificate. He has enough work experience however his designation does not match on O-net however his roles and responsibilities matches. In this case simon what would you suggest. Refrain from applying or go ahead and apply
October 8, 2015 at 04:01
Go ahead and apply. If he wins he can figure out if he qualifies.
October 7, 2015 at 18:56
Hi simon, (Post: Sydney, Australia) i have read about dv winners needing to demonstrate financial support (bank statements or sponsorship from a US citizen) at the visa interview, however the interview instructions/checklist from the sydney consulate do not mention this in the documents to bring to the interview at all. should i just assume otherwise and bring sponsorship and bank documents to my interview?
October 7, 2015 at 19:04
Yes. Sydney rarely ask for it, but it IS in the entry instructions/FAQ and it is a requirement. So – the CO may judge that you don’t present a public charge concern based on talking to you, but carrying at least a bank statement is a wise idea. If you can show at least $10k US in an account per adult, you won’t need an I-134.
October 7, 2015 at 00:37
Hi Brit can you create a page where 2016 interview winners/Rejections can update their expereince. Thank you

October 6, 2015 at 20:38
Hi
My case number is Af 154xx i submitted the Ds260 in may 11, i got promoted in late of September with a new title should i reopen my application or just wait to the interview and what is the I -134 form? Finally when should i expect my interview
Thanks in advance
October 6, 2015 at 20:40
You don’t need to worry about updating the DS260 for the title change.
Keep an eye on the visa bulletin to see when you will be current. It is most likely December, but maybe January.
October 6, 2015 at 12:45
Hi Simon,
I received my passport on July and submitted my ds-260 on the same month. I just received a message from the immigration office that my passport has been updated meaning it wasn’t visible from their system for the past two or so months. I’ve not yet received my second letter . Could the fact that our passport were not visible from the government system be the problem ?
October 6, 2015 at 14:23
No one who submitted in July has received a 2NL yet. That is all – your late submission.
October 6, 2015 at 09:25
Hello Brit my CN is 2016AS13xx i would like to say thanks alot for this forum.. i have interviewed by CO today and my DV Visa is approved, the interview takes 20 minutes with only financial statement, I-134 form, university degree certificate and birth certificate. Thank you once again!
October 6, 2015 at 14:28
Excellent. What embassy was that?
October 7, 2015 at 01:57
Jakarta embassy, Indonesia
October 6, 2015 at 22:56
Simon please i have a question the i 134 form of the financial support. Is it a must to have in the dv interview?! Cause i think it requires plenty of paperwork from the supporting person in the states and revealing of personal info. Including salary and insurance even household! Please advise.
October 6, 2015 at 23:05
Some embassies require it as a matter of course, some only ask for it in certain cases where there is a concern about public charge. If they ask for it and you don’t supply it, you won’t get your visa.
Is it intrusive to your sponsor – yes, sure. Is the Green Card worth it to you?
October 6, 2015 at 08:37
