Hi Brit,
My friend’s CN 2018 EU213xx and his interview was scedelued on end of July.
Does it mean that numbers 30k+ does not have any chance to get interview because of time?
2 more month is not enough for work out as many cases.
May 28, 2018 at 05:02
High numbers are at risk.
Wait and see.

hi;
i am not living in USA and in the DS 260 form they ask about address there to send the green card . will it affect my application if i say no address ?
May 28, 2018 at 12:07
You need to supply an address. It can be a friend or family member.

hello brit
May 28, 2018 at 09:20
Dear Brit,
I am the derivate (the wife) of a recent 2019 Dv lottery winner. I have lived in the states on and off for 10 years and even when I was able to recover most of the addresses where I lived (while a student, exchange student and worker). I do not have all of them. Is there a way I can retreive these addresses? should I run a credit report?
Is it OK if I do not remember all of them since I am the derivate?
Please, advise. thank you.
May 28, 2018 at 12:16
Do the best you can, but it’s not important to be 100% accurate.
May 28, 2018 at 09:23
Hi Brit thanks for your help here, I was selected DV 2018 with case number AF376** and I am current for July interview but haven’t received my 2NL yet is their something to worry about?
May 28, 2018 at 12:18
Only your lack of patience.
May 28, 2018 at 10:38
Dear Brit,
I’m working for around 14 years in the same company.
In form DS260, when it asks previous employment, should I write the same company name since it asks for the last 10 years?
Or should I write the name of another company I have been working 14 years ago?
What do you think?
Thank you.
May 28, 2018 at 12:18
Just the one company.
May 28, 2018 at 12:36
Thank you a lot
May 28, 2018 at 12:42
Dear Brit – I have a country of eligibility issue which i want to ask you about.
Recently we discovered we are DV2019 winners with a good case number.
The issue is that we filled our county of citizenship since the age of 4 (both me and my wife) and not the country we were born which is Russia, both our parents escaped russia back in the late 80s and we have no relation to Russia.
In the DV application form we stated – Born in russia, but country of eligibility is Israel, when filling the form we saw that under country of eligibility they said “usually country of birth but not always, we had in mind that we meet the exception list.
What do you recommend should be our next steps going to the interview?
Thanks the very worried Vicky
May 28, 2018 at 12:49
Disqualification is certain. There is no way to fix the problem. You have been selected in the AS region, and should actually have an EU number.
May 28, 2018 at 12:50
Bad news.
So why didnt they disqualify our submission based on that already? why to give the option to win if we filled it wrong?
May 28, 2018 at 12:52
Hello ,
a friend of mine won dv lottery 2019, his problem that he worked in 3 society, 2 society he has not the data of his company and he can not recover certificate of work, how will do with the DS ????
May 28, 2018 at 13:40
I don’t know.
May 28, 2018 at 13:26

please can i send it to you for you to access it for me
Electronic Diversity Visa
Entrant Status Check: 5.3
Warning: The information entered is not valid.

May 28, 2018 at 13:31
Hi Brit, I m the winner of edv 2019 from Nepal. I wanted to ask u a question that both my parents name are different in my school document and my citizenship though I have made a legal document from the authorites to prove that there name are different but they are same person. Will it affect my chances of getting visa?
May 28, 2018 at 13:41
No
May 28, 2018 at 14:07
Hello brits I would want to ask please if you check the American lottery is it comes “NOT SELECTED” does it mean I was not picked or I can still check till September 10 before another entry for 2020
May 28, 2018 at 14:41
Check again in October.
May 28, 2018 at 14:41
Hi Brit
My friend also win DV2019 his number EU26xxx. He is in USA with F1 status but he once applied to the asylum he get rejected after he is continuing his study in USA this year he won green card lottery. Does asylum rejecting is effecting to the green card getting result. Advanced thank you.
May 28, 2018 at 17:35
No – but since there might be a period of time when he was technically out of status, he might want to do consular processing, rather than adjusting status.
May 28, 2018 at 16:35
Hello Sir
Am a 2019 Dv winner with the case no. DV2019AF00036XXX
1. In my original entry I said I have a University degree because I will be getting that degree in June 2018
I filled it this way coz I thought I was being honest.
A friend of mine said I should fill my highest level of education as high school certificate in my Ds 260, should I
do that? If so, will it not be a problem since the information in the original entry and the DS260 will be different.
2. Based on your experience and assuming the process goes as usual and I submit my Ds 260 a week from today,
when can such a high number be possibly scheduled for interview?
just give me your estimate, just want to know something
2. I have never spent more than 6 months in my home country since the age of 16, in fact the longest time I have
ever spent is 4 months.
just to be on the safe side, Will i still need to get a police clearance from my home country?
May 28, 2018 at 17:34
1. It is not “honest” to say you have a degree, when you actually haven’t. However, you can either change it now, or wait until your prediction comes true. Either way, it should not be a problem. Just be more careful with the truth.
2. A long time – roughly a year from now.
3. Yes
May 28, 2018 at 17:38
Hey Brit,
Let’s think about different scenario which could happen with next VB 😉
There some official figures, we know that quota for
AF 21543
EU 18288
AS 7858
SA 1515
OC 789
NA 7
So far issued visa:
AF 10826
EU 13282
AS 3177
SA 809
OC 472
NA 1
Total 28567
Visa left:
AF 10717
EU 5006
AS 4681
SA 706
OC 317
NA 6
Total 21433
My analyze shows that in EU region 5006 visas will be enough just for CN till 27663 That means next VB will 24733 and last one 27633. However, AF region shows they can’t spend their limit because of time and density (from 28k to 38k just about 800 CN).
How do you think those visas which AF will not use will be transferred to EU region? We had some years with same situation.
May 28, 2018 at 17:51
I think you are missing something in your analysis. Did you factor in the already current numbers for June and July? Those will reduce the visas left number. How about AP cases clearing? That will also reduce the visas left numbers.
Anyway – as for what will happen – we don’t have very much longer before we know the rest of the story…
May 28, 2018 at 17:47
Hello Brit!
Im a DV2018 winner and I just received my Affidavit of Support from my sponsor. The problem is that my sponsor wrote a different address (a wrong one, not mine) in the form (in the “Beneficiary ‘s Physical Address” part).
1- Is it going to be a problem?
2- Should i ask him to resend it?
3- He has sponsored another person in October 2017 (who is also an DV2018 winner), but he has sufficient income for both of us, is this going to be a problem?
Thanks a lot!
May 28, 2018 at 18:45
1. If you don’t change it, it could be, yes.
2. Yes.
3. Possibly. That introduces a risk.
May 28, 2018 at 20:18
Hi! I wanted to let you know that I received my visa today!! I asked a question a couple of weeks ago about my DV 2018 Case at the US embassy in Ireland. My name was misspelled on my birth certificate and differed from every other document I had. I’m so happy and would like to thank you for providing this space for people going through the DV process. It helped me stay sane throughout it all! Thank you!
May 29, 2018 at 10:44
Hi Eimear- my wife and i will be going through Dublin embassy too when the time comes- would love to hear more about your experience and the process there
May 29, 2018 at 10:47
Same here for Dublin embassy..although in African queue. Did dublin ask about the affidavit of support or income etc?
November 30, 2019 at 00:21
Hi Che- can you share your experience in Dublin – did you submit income support
November 30, 2019 at 00:19
Hi ddmcg- can you share your experience in Dublin
May 28, 2018 at 20:48
Hi BritSimon. I got selected for the dv 2019 lottery from Kenya. My problem is that I have been at the embassy before for a non immigrant visa and at one point I made a naive mistake by filling I was married when I’m not. I have consulted lawyers and they have said there is no marriage to dissolve or annul because the marriage was not registered. In my dv application I stated single. Is there a way out of this mess I created? Thanks
May 28, 2018 at 21:11
You tell the truth and hope for the best.
May 28, 2018 at 21:03
Hi,
When are interviews going to be scheduled for 2019 winners, may results ? Appoximetely from your experience.
May 28, 2018 at 21:10
From October 1, 2018 to September 30, 2019
May 28, 2018 at 21:21
Dear Brit,
filling in the DS 260 now. One question fo you:
I am (the derivate)/ the wife of a DV winner. I do not have records of my vaccinations.
In the question where they asked if we have records of vaccinations according to US standards.
I answered “no” and there is a box where I need to explained why. we entered: it got lost over time.
Will this explanation be OK?
I understand I can get an additional text to check which vaccinations I have during the medical exam. So this answer should not cause any problems. Correct?
Thank you as always dear Brit!
May 28, 2018 at 23:01
No is the best answer – but answering yes or no to that question won’t cause problem. That question and more are answered in my DS260 guide.

May 28, 2018 at 21:27
I just returned from my activation trip – do i assume right that on my next entry i get to stand in the ‘citizens/green card holder’ line, not the longer ‘visitors’ line, even though i don’t have my physical card yet? Thanks for the answer!
May 28, 2018 at 23:02
Correct
May 28, 2018 at 21:31
Hi brit,
I know am asking too much, and many thanks for your support.
1. My baby is a US citizen by birth, Is it needed to have also 10000$ for him in my bank statement? Since we’ve only arround 22000$ for me and my wife and we don’t have sponsor.
2. We will have any extra questions about our baby since he born in US? And the insurance paid the bills(CHIP insurance and It’s governmental insurance for low income)? And at that time we where their on tourism visa
May 28, 2018 at 23:05
1. Probably not, although the $10,000 is not a magic amount.
2. They might ask about that, and from what you have said you were not truly entitled to use the government insurance since you were not resident.
May 28, 2018 at 22:01
Hi Brit,
I have 2 questions.
At what time after submiting ds260 we have to send the supporting documentation to the embassy (based on your knowledge)?
If I have a small case number (probably within first range of numbers) but I submit ds260 some months later (for example in November), when would my interview be scheduled?
Thank you.
May 28, 2018 at 23:09
1. In most embassies you take the documents to the interview with you. A small number of embassies want documents in advance – they will tell you if that is needed.
2. Two to dour months after your submission.
May 28, 2018 at 22:37

Hello , In ds260 , I just enter my university educations , I didn’t enter my high school diploma degree , is it a problem ? if it is how can I fix it ?
May 29, 2018 at 02:23
If you are not scheduled, unlock and correct it – read the FAQ for instructions.
May 29, 2018 at 01:43

May 29, 2018 at 06:37
Hi Simon
Good day!
CN: 2018AF22XXX
We had got our visa(s) for all family members two weeks ago. We need to book our ticket in Aug 2018 to U.S.A.
We had mentioned that to receive our GC in specific address in XYZ state as per DS 260. However, we have decided to to go to another state which is far from that GC state. Can this issue lead to any problem during our interview with CBP officer in the airport?
Is it easy to collect our GC if we are far a way from that state?
We had already paid our GC fees online two weeks ago.
I asked my host whether or not to change my GC address to his state but he told me there is no need, leave it as it is.
Pls. Guide me Sir, I need your advise.
May 29, 2018 at 15:59
You can live where you want. However, the GC will be sent to the address on the DS260 – so you can change that at the port of entry if needed.
May 29, 2018 at 07:27
Hi, thank you for tour tireless effort sir brits. Im from África, and I have error on my age 1996 instead of 1989. Can it be change in the process? How can I do that sir?
May 29, 2018 at 15:59
Correct it in the DS260
May 29, 2018 at 07:51
Hi Simon
Somebody told me that If you didn’t mention a body in the first form to immigration, then you added him later in the DS260 form this will cause rejection of the application.
In the first form there is a question about martial status. While i have a previous wife which I divorced from , I didn’t choose divorce , instead i chosen married because this is my current situation and added my new wife and my children from her. And then after that didn’t ask further about if I have previous wife.
But here in the DS260 there was a question if I have a previous wife? I answered yes and mentioned her name and birthday.
So shall I open and omit this information?
Thanks
May 29, 2018 at 16:00
No, you have done it right.
May 29, 2018 at 17:14
Thank you very much
May 29, 2018 at 09:06
hi brit

thanks
May 29, 2018 at 16:06
Typically not – but if it is not critical don’t change at this point.
May 29, 2018 at 09:24
Is it a problem if my birth certificate has mistakes about my parents( such place of birth and birthday)?
May 29, 2018 at 16:06
Well that would be odd – why would your birth cert have mistakes???
May 29, 2018 at 09:39
hi britsi please i wentt to know if u enter the dv as a single person and the result come out you win and you went add your spours on the program is kcc still accepting it because a friend of maind say kcc not acceptting it again so please help
May 29, 2018 at 16:09
If you lied you will be disqualified. If you marry after the entry you can add your spouse.
May 29, 2018 at 10:17
Hi Brit,
My number is as14xxx. I have submit ds260 per 22 may. What do you think of my chance get interviewed?
May 29, 2018 at 16:10
Wait and see.
May 29, 2018 at 11:35
Hi Simon, We salute u!!! Finally, we arrived U.S safe two days ago. At PoE, it took much time by immig. officers to process for our kid b/c z visa was not issued for her rather travel authorization only. We also change our address. Quick questions:
1) Shall we apply for SS number right away or simply waiting at home till they send? We chose it during visa application process(Ds-260).
2) is our child eligible for SS number? If so, where & how can we process for her?
3) Do wee need other residential ID other than green card, SS number & driving license.
Thanks.
May 29, 2018 at 16:12
1. Wait 2 weeks.
2. Yes – again, after two to 4 weeks you could go to the SSA office.
3. No
May 29, 2018 at 16:23
Tanx indeed!!!
May 31, 2018 at 18:06
Thank you very much for the valuable information! We are also expecting GC for our kid but not make the payment. Shall we pay for her though visa was not issued rather travel authorization. If so, in which site we need to pay and how can we handle DoS number. She has’t given the DoS ID so far.
May 31, 2018 at 18:34
I don’t know – contact USCIS.
May 29, 2018 at 12:19
good morning you are doing very good job please how will i know that the embassy will ask for affidavit of sponsor or not?
May 29, 2018 at 16:13
It varies by embassy, CO and case.
May 29, 2018 at 12:24
Hi Sir,followx d VB it says 38,000 is current for Africa.pls could u predict hw many CN’s will go current next VB?thanks
May 29, 2018 at 16:13
I don’t know. Wait and see.
May 29, 2018 at 12:37
Hello Brit,
I’m from Turkey (Also only have Turkish citizinship) and won GC lottery. I’m married an Iranian lady and we are living in Turkey. Is there any restricition for my wife to get the Green Card?
May 29, 2018 at 16:14
She is under the travel ban. If your wife has Turkish citizenship then she is OK.
May 29, 2018 at 16:48
Many thanks .she only has Turkish citizinship If we go to interview she will be directly rejected or she has a small chance to get the GC? If she will be rejected then i will be rejected as well?
May 29, 2018 at 17:34
So – as I said, if she has TURKISH citizenship, there is no problem.
May 29, 2018 at 17:47
Sorry its my mistake. She has only Iranian citizinship
May 29, 2018 at 18:01
OK – then it’s a problem. It won’t affect your approval, but she won’t be able to get the GC.
Perhaps she can get Turkish citizenship???
May 29, 2018 at 12:41
Hi Simon,
Which number could be your favorite for EU?
Just for bet!!
Thanks!
Fausto
May 29, 2018 at 16:14
EU007.
May 29, 2018 at 12:51
Hi Britsimon
After being randomly selected and sending the Ds 260 on time, is there a possibility of one not being scheduled for interview despite the number being current???
May 29, 2018 at 16:15
In the past, that has happened only rarely. I suspect it could happen more this year as we are seeing delays in scheduling.
May 29, 2018 at 13:19
HELLO BRIT, can i appeal my DV visa refusal decision? i got married in January 2017 and won the lottery in may 2017. At the embassy they claimed that i did not have a source of income to sponsor my wedding. if i can appeal their decision then what are the necessary steps to take?
May 29, 2018 at 16:20
The reason you describe is nonsense. They don’t care whether/how you paid for the wedding. It sounds like they have refused you on public charge grounds (financial support).
What refusal code do they list?
May 29, 2018 at 15:01
Hi Brit,
I was selected for DV 2018, my number is DV2018AF00007XXX, but I only found out late march, and submitted my application now, was waiting to prepare documents, which I perhaps shouldnt have.
Is there a low/high possibilty that they’ll be able to process my application in time?
May 29, 2018 at 17:22
High.
May 29, 2018 at 16:04
Hello Brit! I know there are only two months left for the visa bulletin but according on how the numbers are moving in SA do you think maybe 2018SA1920 could be a safe number? thanks for your answer.
May 29, 2018 at 17:28
No, it is not a safe number. You have to wait and see what happens in the final VBs (just two left).
May 29, 2018 at 16:34
Hi Brit
I won DV2019 but I am now in canada my status is asylum pending my family in my country. Can we attend to the interwiev separately for exxample me in canada they in my country. Because they cant come here me also cant go there. please help me what I have to do?
Thank you.
May 29, 2018 at 17:31
No – that is not normal. So either you take the interview in Canada on your own (and then spend around 2 years getting them to join you in the USA, or you return to their country and interview with them.
May 29, 2018 at 16:50
Is there any chance for second batch for interview appointment??
May 29, 2018 at 17:34
Wait and see.
May 29, 2018 at 16:52
I have questions. I learned in formal 12 years but I can’t graduate in formal I transfer to non-formal school 1 year and I graduate in here. Please help me!

i graduate at Non-Formal and Informal Education. requirement need graduate at 12 years program
May 29, 2018 at 17:34
Hello Brit, I was analysing this year’s progress of visa bulletin and I noticed that is similar to 1999s.
Please can you give me the information about how was the last case number in Europe in 1999?
Thank you ?!
May 29, 2018 at 17:36
There really is no point in comparing to 1999.
May 29, 2018 at 17:51
I would like to know which was the last cn in 1999…
May 29, 2018 at 18:00
I don’t know.
May 29, 2018 at 18:41
Ok, thanks!
Do you think this month will be current in EU?
May 29, 2018 at 18:49
No, I don’t. Wait and see.
May 29, 2018 at 18:11
Hi Brit
I have selected in Dv2018 and my case number is 30k.
Do you think that I will have the chance to get an interview and a visa too?
May 29, 2018 at 18:40
I don’t know.
May 29, 2018 at 20:03
Hey
I resaved my 2nl but I want to change interview location how I do that it’s take along time to rechang
May 29, 2018 at 21:04

May 29, 2018 at 20:54
hi brit,
thank you for the marvelous work you have been doing
i want to narrate a real situation here
somewhere December 2017 i realized one lady had given birth for me and had been searching for me to inform me about it. now i know and believe i have a child with this unmarried lady but had made entries as single and childless earlier. i have married my 7 months relationship girlfriend (another lady) after i had made the entry. i have now won 2018-2019 Us DV lottery.
the problem is, the entry i made for the dv lottery neither captured details of my direct replica son and wife.
what will happen to my win now?
1. if i want to take my son with me?
2. if i want to take my wife with me?
3. if i want to take both?
4. if i want to take none?
May 30, 2018 at 02:49
Leaving a child off the original entry means certain disqualification. The reason that happened is not the point. It is not fixable, so the only way to proceed would be to lie – which I cannot assist.
May 29, 2018 at 21:16
hello ;
