Go back in to your DS260, click on the link where it says completed and review the locked DS260, at the end you can take a screenshot of the final page. Print that.

November 10, 2016 at 14:32
English please.
Since this is about DV2018, just wait and see if you are selected and IF you are then you can think about how to process. The chance of selection is less than once in 100 years.
November 10, 2016 at 08:19
Hello Brit
Please I submitted my form in June but unlocked it late last month to do some corrections and submitted back on 2/11/2016
Will this affect the processing time of my form?
Case number is 344*

Probably not, although some changes can cause delay.
November 10, 2016 at 21:12

Hi Simon,
I am Dv winner 2017 from Nepal.
During original entry, I have a doubt if I wrote my son’s country of birth as a Nepal But actually he was borned in London . But in DS 260 I mentioned all the correct information. Is there any chance that during Interview they will make a problem to me?
Regards,
November 10, 2016 at 14:27
No, he is only a derivative.
November 10, 2016 at 09:02

November 10, 2016 at 14:32
Hello Brit, me and my husband are having our interview in 06 December, DS260 submission 09 June, CN 2017EU5xxx. We’re from Kosovo, interview at Skopje Embassy.
– Do I have to translate my educational documents (High School diploma & University diploma) or just my husband needs to do it, he is the principal applicant?
– Do we have to take the Certificate that shows we don’t have criminal background (Police certificate) or Certificate that shows we’re not under investigation (Court certificate)? Or both?
Thank you.
November 10, 2016 at 14:34
1. Just the principal.
2. Follow the instructions. Police certificates required are described on the country reciprocity page.
November 10, 2016 at 15:07
Hello, I asked the KCC about my DS-260 (I was selected for DV-2017), and the answer is “forms received and pending further embassy review for the contnuation of your visa processing”. What does that mean? Thank you.

Dear Britsimon
I am really worried.
I already asked KCC this question but received no reply.
I added an entry for my wife but has not filled it yet because she will not immigrate with me. I already submitted mine three months ago. Should I submit her DS-260 or not? Does she have to attend the interview?
Please reply to my question.
I apologise for inconvience.
Sincerely,
Al Hajj, Maher
November 10, 2016 at 17:13
You don’t have to submit a DS260 for her. That means she will not attend the interview and will not get a GC.
November 16, 2016 at 18:48
Please Britsimon
This information is shown when I log in my account.
Does that mean my case is complete?
Does it mean I am current?
Please look at the information summary and let me know.
Thanks for your time and assistance

Summary Information
Before we can process your Diversity Visa application, each applicant in your case must complete Form DS-260, the Online Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration Application. To access the online form, click on the link to the right of an applicant’s name below, under the “IV Application” heading.
If a person in your family is not listed below, click the “Add Applicant” button to add him or her. Derivative applicants for the DV program include spouses or children under the age of 21 who meet the requirements of U.S. immigration law. No – this doesn’t “mean” you are current. If your case number is higher than 4000, then you are not current.
November 17, 2016 at 05:23
My case summary says that my case will not be processed unless I submit the ds 260 and i told you that she will travel with me.
according to my case summary Does that mean my case is incomplete because I didn’t submit my wife, ds 260?
Sorry for inconvenience.
November 17, 2016 at 14:36
They cannot read your mind. If your case is completed and hers is not they will assume she does not want a visa.
November 10, 2016 at 15:36
Dear Simon,
I have studied in the UK for about 18 months from April 2012 to October 2013. but I am living in my home country now. According to DV instruction I should get a police certificate from the UK. My question is can I obtain the certificate now or should I wait until my case number is current? some people say the police certificate should not be older than 6 months.
just to let you know my case number is AS 79**
THANKS
November 10, 2016 at 17:16
You should wait. It will be many months before your interview.
November 10, 2016 at 16:04
Hi brit
My question is:
could the KCC ignore any ds260 forms??
November 10, 2016 at 17:36
No.
November 10, 2016 at 16:54
Hi Brit!

November 10, 2016 at 17:52
What was the highest level of education you COMPLETED??
November 10, 2016 at 17:03
plus number of educational institutional attend i said that 1 but now i am in university what shall i do dear Brit Thank you
November 10, 2016 at 17:53
You are asking me questions that you should be able to answer. You need to use some common sense.
How many schools/colleges/Universities have you attended. It is that simple.
November 10, 2016 at 20:33
Mr Simon,
do you know how many cases got refused in DV 2016? or what is the chance that someone may get refused? what are the main reasons for refusal?
November 10, 2016 at 21:02
Hi Simon I do some changes my name of company by unlocking DS260 I resubmited & I receive my confirmation, does it needs to my wife too receiving new confirmation? She did not change anything she is durative
November 10, 2016 at 23:53
No.
November 10, 2016 at 21:20
Hi BritSimon,
Before everything thanks for the HUGE work you do to help us all, thanks you.
Do you know if there is any difference between a work petition greencard and a DV lottery one ? I’m talking about duration (expiry), how easy you can loose it, any special requirement for one vs the other to be able to keep it if you spend a lot of time outside the country.
I can do both, but I need to spend the next 2 years abroad, I heared about the 6month rule but I was wondering if it was harder with the DV lottery ?
Thank you
November 10, 2016 at 23:52
There is no difference. The status is permanent. The Green Card itself is renewed after 10 years.
November 10, 2016 at 21:31
Hello Simon, my wife had to renew her passport because the older one was about to expire, should I go to her ds-260 unlocked and change the passport number or I will be fine if I take both passport when ever the Interview takes place!!! Thanks
November 10, 2016 at 23:51
You can do either ay. Unlocking ad correcting is ideal.
November 11, 2016 at 03:47
does social security comes in home or we have to apply for it…if it comes in home then how many days does it takes to arrive in home??
November 11, 2016 at 07:23
It usually arrives in 2 to 3 weeks – at home – ID you selected that option in your DS260.
November 11, 2016 at 10:40
Hello Brit ,
Thank you and advance .my question is how long it takes the visa to be issue because CO doesn’t mention anything he said ‘ waiting email ” .and how can i track visa by CEAC .
November 11, 2016 at 16:35
You can’t track it. Just wait.
November 11, 2016 at 11:35
Hello dear Simon! I am a bit stressed. I’m winning DV2017 with the CN 31xxx. My concern is this. At DV I had played with Aimérance Tshiame Bamana but on my bac is Aimée Tshiame Bamanakuamba. On my certificate of marriage and my passport is Aimerance Tshiame Bamanakuamba. I had written to KCC and the Kinshasa embassy, they asked me to fill my ds260 with the names on the passport and the other names in the other names. It will not be a problem, even though I informed them at the intervieu.
November 11, 2016 at 16:37
So do as the embassy have said. Then relax.
November 11, 2016 at 11:46
Dear brit
I am winner of 2017 DV lotter and i m from nepal and my case no is 7235
Is there any certain cutoff or do i have any chance of getting 2nd letter?
November 11, 2016 at 16:38
There is typically a cutoff in place for Nepal. I cannot be certain where that will come. You have to wait and see.
November 11, 2016 at 12:53
Hello simon
a friend of mine have few question
she is selected for dv2017,married with husband with Belgium nationality but she doesn’t have Belgium nationality she is Rwandese Nationality, they have 2 babies for both nationality but born in Rwanda .
1.she fill the ds 260 those 2 babies but she didn’t mention that they have Belgium nationality cause they have not yet receive it at the time they were filling Ds .should we:unlock, inform kcc, tell the consular at interview?
2.Did the Us law accept immigrant to have double nationality
3.
November 11, 2016 at 16:40
Nationality is not important in the immigration process. If she was the winner I hope she listed her place of birth and has a case number than matches that place of birth. She should complete the DS260 for each person (babies included) that wants the GC.
November 11, 2016 at 16:09
Hello Brit,
I have a H1 appointment scheduled on 15 Nov 2016, since Donald Trump became new president. My question is, would it impact h1b stamping interviews ? Or is there a more chances of rejection.
Your help is highly appreciated
November 11, 2016 at 16:42
No difference.
November 11, 2016 at 16:51
Hello Brit,
Thanks for the response, I am from India and working in Malaysia since last 2 yrs., I have appointment on 15th Nov 2016 in Malaysia and my Malaysia work visa is expiring on 30th Nov, Might there be any conflict because of same?
November 11, 2016 at 21:26
No
November 11, 2016 at 17:38
how can we get information about Donald’s view for 2016 selectees for 2017 visa, can this guy/honoured president/ disturbing our plan ?
November 11, 2016 at 21:24
No changes will happen in the near future. DV2017 and DV2018 will be unaffected. Don’t worry about it.
November 11, 2016 at 18:46
Simon
As fas as I know once you get your AOS package delivered to the Chicago Lockbox the KCC office has nothing to do with it and everything will be handled by the USCIS. Am I right or wrong?

November 11, 2016 at 19:23
Mr Simon,
do you think case numbers around 8000 and above from Asia are at risk of not getting 2nl?
November 11, 2016 at 21:18
There is some risk, of course.
November 13, 2016 at 10:16
I am really disappointed, I have sacrificed a lot of things for the dv.
November 13, 2016 at 14:26
Well you shouldn’t have. It’s a lottery. You were not promised a Green Card, you were told you were shortlisted. In any case – I have not said impossible, just “some” risk.
November 11, 2016 at 19:36
Dear Brit,
my number will prob. be current in Jan-Feb. Currently I am in language school to keep valid status until I get GC. And I am required to purchase health insurance. My income is $0, so I am eligible for Madicaid. I don’t know if you can answer this, I guess I just value your advice, but do you think I should get a Medicaid prior interview or it’s going to look bad. Does it matter at all?
Thanks in advance!
November 11, 2016 at 21:17
I don’t know – but doing so would suggest you are a public charge, so my gut feeling would be don’t do it. You can get a subsidized plan through ACA.
November 11, 2016 at 20:17
Dear Brit
Am from Kenya am filling my DS160 and got stuck answering this question, Have you resided in any country/region for six months or longer since you attained 16 years of age?
I was once given a Re- entry pass to Tanzania that expired after of six months, though i stayed for four months, and before then i would enter Tanzania for one month and exit once every month for a period of four months. Do a re-entry pass equals to residency… and cumulativately can all this eight months equals to having resided for six months and more
regards,
November 11, 2016 at 21:15
If in doubt, answer yes.
November 11, 2016 at 21:55
Hi Simon,
I’m a DV 2017 winner. I made a mistake in my dv entry regarding my birth date- unintentionally swabbed month and day, i put it down as 11/12/1990 and it is actually 12/11/1990. I have written an email to kcc explaining the mistake and attached a copy of my birth certificate then filled out the DS forms with my correct DOB. Do you think this mistake will result in a denial?
November 11, 2016 at 23:40
Most likely not.
November 11, 2016 at 23:38
Mr Simon,
My case number is AF400XX
Is there any risk to get my 2nd lettre?
November 11, 2016 at 23:40
That number has gone current in past years. So it should be OK.
November 11, 2016 at 23:45
An other question plz
Do you have any informations about US ambassy of algeria ,if they are strict or not!?
November 12, 2016 at 01:28
Fairly strict.
November 12, 2016 at 00:38

Hi Simon
I pay immigramt fee in february. I entry to usa in May. Today is 11/11/2016 and I didnt receive my green card. SSN I was obtain after 2 weeks, but GC is not coming. I call to USCIS for receipt number, because u lost this number, and he say: we can tell you your receipt number. You obtain receipt number with your GC. Can I decode receipt number? Or what can i do?
November 12, 2016 at 05:14
I can’t advise you beyond contacting USCIS and following their instructions.
November 12, 2016 at 09:37
Hello Eng. BritSimon,
Do you think that President Tramp will close the diversity visa? Especially for Muslims.
Thanks.
November 12, 2016 at 14:17
Read about that here:
https://britsimonsays.com/december-2016-visa-bulletin-released/
November 12, 2016 at 16:12
Hello Brit,
I am a DV 2017 winner. During my initial entry, they made a typographical error in spelling my name.
My name is correctly spelt as Emmanuel Jonathan Johnson but they entered Emmanuel Jothan Johnsn.
Will this error affect our interview coz I’ll be attending the interview with my wife and I am the PA.
I seven credits in my high school exams and also have a BSC HONS degree in Public health but I am really worried that this mistake might affect our visa approval even though I’ve written KCC an email before filling out our DS 260 and they told me to fill out the correct information.
November 12, 2016 at 16:16
As long as the DS260 is correct you should be OK.
November 12, 2016 at 16:31
Thank you Brit for your wonderful assistance to the millions of people round the world.
May God continue to bless you and your family.
Brit, I submitted my DS 260 on November 1st,2016. Is it possible for my interview to take in January of 2017.
November 12, 2016 at 16:38
I should have told you that my case number is AF2017000145xx and I submitted my DS 260 on the 1st November,2016. Is possible for me to be interviewed in January 2017.
November 12, 2016 at 20:39
No. Your late submission will mean a later interview. Not January, nor February. March/April at the earliest.
November 12, 2016 at 19:09
Hi Simon thanks for your efforts i have a question
I am winner in Dv 2017 my CN AF00030***
From Egypt
1-egypt has 3500 dv visa this year we have alotif family make interview last week they got the visa if 6 person family got the visa they will take 6 visa from DV visa of winner or they are just derivatives iam worry if they take from winners vise it will be carry out?
November 12, 2016 at 20:31
A family of 6 reduces the visas available by 6.
November 12, 2016 at 20:03
Hi brit
do you know how much in dollars is need to show Financial ability for 3 people in a family ?
Is there a new value ؟
November 12, 2016 at 20:30
It isn’t a precise fixed amount – it is somewhat up to the discretion of the CO. But think of around $25,000 minimum.
