Hi Brit –
Looks like the Auckland, NZ consulate has stopped scheduling interviews, any idea why that would be?
May 8, 2021 at 02:41
It is too soon to assume that – there are 96 OC cases in Transit – which means we don’t know which embassies will be receiving them. Patience.

Hello Mr. Simon, Hope you be fine and doing well. I am from Afghanistan with Case NO 2021AS84xx. Based on KCC email, I have summited my documents to KCC on Oct 02, 2020, but still not received email on document confirmation. I have recently got Electronic ID card and police certificate.
The questions are :
1- Should I resent all updated documents once more ? If yes, it doesn’t make any delay my case process ?
2- while sending the documents to KCC, we should send just the scanned copy of translated documents or original + translated ?
3- is the case at risk ?
4- Joining to any lawsuit in this bad situation of DV , will have a positive effect in our case ?
5- which one do you prefer Goh v. Blinken or curtismorrisonlaw
Thank you ?
Kaz
May 8, 2021 at 14:05
1. Check your documents carefully to see you sent them correctly. If you did you can ask KCC if they are satisfied.
2. Original and translation – follow the instructions!
3. Yes – every case is.
4. Maybe
5. You have to choose for yourself.

Hello sir
My previous passport expiry date was 2 oct 2021 at the time of entry
I updated my passport on 26 april 2021 while it had 6 months left
Now my new passport expiry date is 26 april 2026
1 Did I made a mistake ?
2 should I do anything or just continue with my new passport ? Also I have the caceled passport with me now
3 I am selected from afghanistan my case number is 2022AS27xxx is it good ? When should I submit ds260 ?
Thank you sir for you help
You are very kind
May 10, 2021 at 23:36
1. No
2. Send both passports when you send documents or attend the interview.
3. It is a little high, but we don’t know enough to be certain at the moment. You can submit now if you want although it will be well into 2022 before you get any movement on your case.
May 11, 2021 at 00:42
Hello sir
Which passport number should I type in DS-260 (the previous passport used when entry and is camceled now) or the new passport ?
May 11, 2021 at 03:07
New active one – but show proof of the old one when you send in documents or attend the interview.
May 8, 2021 at 04:52
Hello Sir,
My husband is a DV2021 winner, we will go by work experience route. From the O*Net Online search he has discovered Maintenance and Repair Workers, General as a job title to qualify under work experience, however, the rating for that particular job is in the 6.0 to < 7.0 and the job zone is "THREE". He is a Fitter and Machinist at Gold Mine and has trade level certificate and has more than 5 years of experience. Do you think rating can cause problem during the interview?
Hope to hear from you soon.
Thanks.
May 8, 2021 at 14:06
He will not qualify with that work experience.
https://britsimonsays.com/education-or-work-experience-qualifying-for-the-dv-lottery/
May 8, 2021 at 20:14
Can We look for another job title that best suits his work? Or it’s simply he won’t qualify ?
May 8, 2021 at 21:17
If another job title is realistic – yes.

Hi Brit, I’m from Cameroon with case number 2021AF000359XX ,PLEASE I wish to know if my case number is current or late because i have not recieve any email requesting documents , , please anyone from Cameroon here to guide me if Cameroon embassy is taking dv case
May 8, 2021 at 05:34
Tita write me on [email protected] so that we talk better
May 8, 2021 at 14:07
Your case number is current – but very few cases are being scheduled so you are at risk. Have you sent your documents and received the ready for scheduling email?
May 8, 2021 at 06:28
God help me to win this 2022 dv lottery ??
May 8, 2021 at 14:09
I’m not sure if she reads my blog.
May 8, 2021 at 08:54
Hi! Brit, I’m Dinesh From Sri Lanka, I have completed a post graduate diploma in marketing which was 2 1/2 years. So what would be my educational level to apply????
May 8, 2021 at 14:09
With all that education you should be able to work that out yourself!
May 8, 2021 at 08:57
Hello Brit
Is US embassy in Khartoum, Sudan scheduling interview dv lottery 2021 winners .If not do we have possiblity to get interviewed.
May 8, 2021 at 14:14
So far they have not accepted any interviews. You are obviously at risk.
May 8, 2021 at 09:16
Hi Sir
I’m DV 2021 selectee, AF19K
I have sent my documents five times now without any response from kcc.
When I ask them if they are satisfied with my documents they keep telling me that my ds260 has been processed but nothing about the documents.
Now the police certificate I sent will get 12 months in June 2021 because it was issued in June 2020.
I would like to know as I have sent my documents it has been 5 times now, should I renew the police certificate and resend again the documents or it’s not necessary ?
Thanks for your help Sir
May 8, 2021 at 14:13
This is frustrating. You may be making some mistake in sending your documents. For the police cert, just take a new one (plus the old one) to the interview.
May 8, 2021 at 14:41
My police certificate also expires in july . Should I take a new one
May 8, 2021 at 10:27
Good morning Simon
2021EU21xxx
How comes that on the “DV2021 Raw CEAC Data / FY2021-ceac-2021-05-01.csv” it only shows the “AF-Region”?
Am I making a mistake?
Thanks alot for your kindness and patience.
May 8, 2021 at 10:35
AF is the default. You need to filter on EU. The filter is above the data. If you select EU you will see the EU results only.
May 8, 2021 at 18:10
Thank you Blanka. I don’t know how to filter it. No filter above the data. At least I don’t see it.
May 8, 2021 at 14:15
Do you have a filter on?
May 8, 2021 at 18:09
Good afternoon Simon
Which filter do you mean?
Currently showing statistics for region: EU
DV2021 CEAC Data for Embassies: Ben /EU
It still shows me “AF”
Let me tell you……Internet is not my best friend. I am a “paper” generation 😉
May 8, 2021 at 19:00
Find someone who can show you how to use a spreadsheet.
May 8, 2021 at 10:41
Hello Mr Brit i want de Ask about the range of confirmations riched in af . Me 19k waiting for confirmation of documents
May 8, 2021 at 14:16
Others around your number range have received confirmation, but few interviews.
May 8, 2021 at 12:23
Hi Brit
1. Do you think they will send second batch of 2 NL’s this month?!
2. If you receive such email:
“ Thank you for your inquiry.
Your case number is now current for interview processing. Once the interview date has been scheduled, you will receive notification via email to check https://dvprogram.state.gov“
Is there any possibility to change the interview location ?!
Thank you for your support.
May 8, 2021 at 14:18
There may be a few more JUne interview 2NLs sent. However, if your embassy is not open they won’t sent the 2NL. Generally KCC won’t change the location once you are at this point.
May 8, 2021 at 18:46
Thank you very much for your reply.
My interview suppose to be in Riyadh, they embassy accepted 7 cases since ban lifted, I am not sure if you consider it working embassy or not?!
Do you recommend me to join the lawsuit despite the fact that my case is current for interview?!
Thank you for your usual support
May 8, 2021 at 19:03
That is open – yes. BUT not doing much – which is why everyone is at risk.
The lawsuit may help – your choice.
May 9, 2021 at 18:07
Hello DV2021-AS/Brit
May i know what you send kcc to get a reply
I have been sending emails since 2 weeks but no response 🙁
Is it normal that they don’t respond to emails!?
May 9, 2021 at 18:12
LS, it took them 3 full weeks to respond to my email. It seems that this is the current lead time for them to reply back. And of course they responded with a generic reply that did not answer in any shape or form the question. Just be patient ??♀️
May 9, 2021 at 18:48
Thank you for your answer 🙂
Same here sent them 2 weeks ago still no reply can’t reach them by email or phone
May 10, 2021 at 02:35
They are not behaving normally at the moment – keep trying.
May 8, 2021 at 14:25
Dear Simon,
I got my green card in August 2020 through the DV lottery. Unfortunately, USCIS misspelled my name (my name is consisted of 5 words. In one word they switched two letters). I submitted my I-90 last September but my application is still pending. Can I go abroad while my I-90 is pending? Should I expect problems entering the border when I come back? What should I say/show?
Thank you for your help.
May 8, 2021 at 14:27
That is not a situation I have seen before – so I can’t advise.
May 8, 2021 at 15:31
Dear Simone good day.
I have some worry.
CN 2021AF 15***.
I filled ds260 for me the principal applicant and did not know I had to fill for each of my six derivatives. Later, I was asked by KCC to send attached documents, then I was adviced by a friend to send the ds260 for each of the applicant, I then unlocked and filled for all and recieved all the comfirmation pages. After 2 weeks I thought KCC would ask again for supporting docs but they didn’t. I went ahead on the 28 march 2021 and sent the docs as I learnt from your block. Today, it’s almost 5weeks no confirmation from kcc, I recieved only the generic replied that they are processing the docs.
1) should I continue being patient
2) or should I contact kCC to ask whether they are satisfied with the docs
May 8, 2021 at 16:05
2
May 8, 2021 at 16:42
Hi Mr Simon. I sent the documents on march 19 then i received the documents request from kcc on march 24. What do you suggest me to do other than waiting. Ask kcc about satisfaction. I will receive a generic Replay CN AF 19K.
Thanks for your Time.
May 8, 2021 at 16:47
Yes you will receive a generic email, it’s the third time for me, it’s frustrating.
May 8, 2021 at 17:02
Caposito Your CN with region? AND date of docs du submission ?
May 8, 2021 at 17:08
EU 21K submitted in February after requested. To the inquiry They always send the same email even after I asked for a specific reply.
May 8, 2021 at 16:51
Yeah it’s frustrating. However, looking at the progression of 2NLs it is clear that KCC prioritized document processing, and now is scheduling, along case number lines. So – you might get a chance, so remain patient and persistent.
May 8, 2021 at 17:09
dv2021 I’m a winner with shit numberEU 24XXX,
dv2022 my sister is a winner with EU7XXX…. so a way better number :)…. so happy with her…mayby 2023 gives me another chance and I will join her there:)
…..what she told me… she is not happy, why… couse she thinks they shouldn’t process 2022 couse it’s not fair with 2020 and 2021 winners… and that’s true… finish what you had started and then starts with next one…
May 8, 2021 at 17:13
The law determines how each year is timed and handled.
May 8, 2021 at 17:13
hi, is there any chance they will continue approving ds260 sent biginong of April with documents sent next day… EU 24XXX… or I can forgot and wait for dv2023
May 8, 2021 at 17:16
Maybe – but so far the interviews for EU are almost all under 10000. So we have to wait and see if they go much higher.
May 8, 2021 at 17:30
Hi Brit, hope you are doing well.
My case number is 2021AS000270XX. I haven’t received the email instruction yet.
1. Is there a hope that KCC will process my case?
My two kids are US born, so I didn’t complete their DS-260 as advised by KCC on the phone (where I should complete the DS-260 for whoever will immigrate, and US born kids are already Americans)
2. is that a reason why my case was not processed?
3. I have bachelor degree. Is this sufficient for the eduction qualification? Is a high school certificate sufficient? Or they will request a letter/ certificate to confirm that I passed each grade of my 12 years at school?
4. If I change my interview location from Jordan to Saudi, Will this delay/ affect my case processing?
Many thanks,
Sincerely,
May 8, 2021 at 17:40
1. A very small hope. If you haven’t sent documents yet – send them now.
2. You were not required to complete the DS260 for them.
3. If you get an interview show all education.
4. Possibly.
May 8, 2021 at 18:18
Thank you for your quick reply.
How to send the documents and to what address? I was waiting the instructions email to know!

Hello Britsimon.
Thanks for the wonderful advice for all.
Would anyone know how many plaintiff’s there are for goh Vs blinken lawsuit.please inform us if you know. Thanks
May 8, 2021 at 19:17
Hi Simon
I my case nonis AF 10k. Submitted docs and received conformation.
Waiting fir 2NL but the embassy in Ghana does not seem to have any plans to start interviews anytime soon. In my case, which lawsuit would be the best to join?
May 8, 2021 at 21:15
I think Goh may be closed, so Curtis Morrison is your only choice.
May 8, 2021 at 19:29
Hi Simon, as per stats from Save diversity, 2NL were sent for all case number range in OC even for case number over 3000.
My case 18xx and received email saying all my documents are processed and I’m ready to be scheduled (in July last year) however I haven’t received a 2NL and my status is still ‘AT NVC’ despite being current last month. Have emailed the KCC to see if there’s anything further needed however no response from them so far.
Can we expect more 2NL to be sent next week ?
May 8, 2021 at 21:16
Maybe.
May 8, 2021 at 21:17
my country has started to do the DV2021 interview but i was surprised that i didn’t get the 2NL when other with higher case number than mine got their and they have scheduled for the June interview, i have try to ask many people and they told me the issue is that i have requested to unlock my DS-260 before, and I’m asking was it because of that ? and i did it long time ago in 2020 before i got my received letter from KCC, is there a chance that i will get the interview my case is AF7118
May 8, 2021 at 21:19
It is unlikely to be to do with the unlocking. When did you get the ready for scheduling email?
May 10, 2021 at 12:05
i got the email on 28th December 2020, the thing that frustrate me is that people with high case number got their 2NL and i haven’t got mine, when i tried to contact no answer, i have wrote ton of email still no answer i don’t know what to do i need your advice of what i can do.
May 10, 2021 at 12:32
@Manira, which embassy is this?
May 11, 2021 at 00:01
So it clearly has nothing to do with unlocking. But it should be obvious that they are not scheduling all cases yet.
May 8, 2021 at 21:23
Hi Brit, each time I try to fill out the DS 260 form online i get the “Your request cannot be processed at this time.” error. What could be causing this and how do I go about fixing it. Thanks

May 8, 2021 at 21:44
Hi Brit,
Thank you for being the only expert out there providing free advice.
1. Is it true that the last month in which KCC sends interview invitations is August, since they always send invites for the next month? So if you haven’t received an invite by August 31, you’re done?
2. My CN is EU14k. Do you think I still might be invited for an interview before the deadline even without the lawsuit? Or is my only hope the lawsuit?
Thanks.
May 8, 2021 at 23:15
1. The last notifications are normally sent out by the end of July (for September interviews). We might see some sent in EARLY August.
2. It’s impossible to say. That is why the lawsuit is attractive.
May 8, 2021 at 21:53
Dear Mr. Simon,
thank you for your web-site and your youtube channel with really helpfull information about the DV-Lottery process. It helped me a lot to understand everything much better. Also the background information is very interesting.
I just saw your video about the june VB and the CUT-OFF going to be switched to current for my country.
I have submitted the DV-260 form a couple of month ago but unfortunately my case number is very high 2021EU00036xxx and my Visa-Status is ‘At NVC’.
The first selection document says: ‘Your case will not be scheduled for an interview appointment until a visa number is available, you have submitted a complete and valid DS-260 application for each family member, and you have provided copies of all required documentation to the Kentucky Consular Center (KCC). You will receive document
submission instructions by e-mail after KCC processes and accepts the DS-260 application forms for you
and any accompanying family members.’
You are frequently saying that sending the documents to the KCC as quickly as possible is very important. But do I understand that correctly? I can only send the documents (‘copies of all required documentation’) after getting the e-mail from the KCC with submission instruction, or is there any other chance to send my documents earlier to be scheduled for an interview earlier?
Thanks and kind regards
Michael
May 8, 2021 at 23:16
I have been saying for months now that people should send the documents without waiting to be asked. You can try to send them now, BUT it may be too late, and they don’t seem to be bothering with high case numbers.
May 8, 2021 at 21:55
Hi Brit – I’m an aupair from South Africa, currently in America. I won the DV2021 lottery. I put my South African address as my current address on my DS260 doc. However, I put my current employers as GoAupair. I’m hoping that’s not the reason I haven’t had an embassy date. Should I request to change it and put my former South African employer? It’s been 2 years since I worked there. Please let me know. Time is of the essence and I’m so worried
May 9, 2021 at 00:01
That would not cause a delay. Every case is delayed right now – it’s just a mess of a year.
May 8, 2021 at 22:02
Hi! I got the approved holding number EU24XXX. I am currently in the US with student visa, do you know if I have a different process to go through than people who are doing this from the home country?
May 9, 2021 at 00:02
Yes that is called adjustment of Status. You won’t be able to start your process until 2022, but the best resource for that process is here:
https://forums.immigration.com/threads/dv-2022-aos-adjustment-of-status-only.344334/
May 8, 2021 at 23:01
” MAY ,6 UPDATE from save diversity Visa : 407 NEW AF 2NL” this means those are new 2NL To be sent next week (2nd BATCH for JUNE ) or already sent last week?!!
May 8, 2021 at 23:09
We will have to wait and see.
May 9, 2021 at 00:13
Hey Brit
How can we know what numbers received 2nl in june?
May 9, 2021 at 15:53
We have the data.
May 8, 2021 at 23:30
HI Simon,
We were selected to DV2022 FY, but we have done a mistake. Main applicant entered Qatar as born country which is AS region but actually main applicant was born in Kyrgyzstan which is EU region.
Should we skip a hope of getting a Visa?
May 9, 2021 at 15:48
Yes that will be certain denial UNLESS the applicant was married at the time of entry to someone born in Qatar – and even then it sounds like you did the entry incorrectly.
May 9, 2021 at 18:18
Hello Brit
I have the same situation (dv2021)
my husband is claiming eligibility based on my country of birth (also his parents country of birth)
(His country of birth is sauid arabia and mine is Jordan both AS)
Should we be worried!?
May 10, 2021 at 02:38
In your case, no problem (because A same region and B he can charge to your country).
May 9, 2021 at 00:39
Hello
Can consular refuse someone based on their age?
If they are 60 and older
May 9, 2021 at 15:57
Yes, if there is a concern about public charge. The CO can consider for example how that person would provide for themselves financially. Other than that there is no specific age limit.
May 9, 2021 at 03:05
Hello mr Simon,
Im from iran and I won dv 2022 with case number 2022AS000008XX and Post : ANKARA.I have couple of questions and will be appreciate that you answer me:
1.what is the best time for submitting ds-260 form?
2.when my case will be current and get into interview approximately?
May 9, 2021 at 16:06
1. Now
2. It’s a very low number so almost certain to be current for October. So – if you submit now and file documents within a few weeks, you could get an early interview (depending on the status of the embassy)
May 9, 2021 at 04:24
Hello, how are you? I hope you are well … I have a question, how much money do I need as an approximate number to cover the costs of the visa, add $ 10,000 as a minimum amount of money, add health insurance for a month, for example
May 9, 2021 at 16:07
The process costs are detailed in the FAQ. You may also need savings or an I-134 to show the CO that you will not become a public charge.
May 9, 2021 at 04:56
Hi dear Brit Simon, I am dv2020 winner, I am in the US now, and I am permanent resident.
Due to dv2020 situations, I decided to submit application for dv2022.
Today I have checked and it turned out that I have been selected.
The question is: Can I transfer it to my Mummy or Daddy?
If no what can I do? :)))
Thank you
May 9, 2021 at 16:10
No you can’t transfer your win. There is nothing you can do with it, but because you don’y need the win, it is one less visa needed…
May 9, 2021 at 06:44
Hi Brit. I have been selected for DV 2022, what is the best way to find a host in the US? And say I cant find one and have to book a hotel or AirBnB, what check in and check out months should I pick as I am completely oblivious to the time frames in which I might be awarded the visa?
May 9, 2021 at 16:20
It is far too soon to think about AirBnB!
You will need to provide a US address where you can have the GC sent later – so it would be good to pick a friend you can trust for that purpose, though not necessarily the place you will live.
May 9, 2021 at 16:48
Hi Brit, that is the problem I have. I don’t have any connections to the US. I do not have any family or friends there. That is why I was thinking of AirBnB because I need an address to put on my DS 260 form before time runs out. What do you suggest I do.
May 9, 2021 at 16:56
1. Calm down and relax – this is a slow process. No need to rush.
2. Always give me case number range (with year and region).
3. I suggest you ask some friends, everyone knows someone who knows someone else…
May 9, 2021 at 17:26
Hi Brit, this is my case number 2022AF00041XXX. I am worried I will run out if time to fill out the DS 260 form before I find a host. When do you think I might have my interview and before time to fill the DS 260 has lapsed.
May 10, 2021 at 02:29
You could delay for a few months with no problem.
May 9, 2021 at 08:30
Hello Mr Simon how are you doing today. I will like to know since the Biden administration has describe the DV lottery 2020 lawsuits as moot, what should we be expecting from the judge and the respective lawyers in the coming weeks. Thanks
May 9, 2021 at 16:22
I don’t know what the outcome will be.
May 9, 2021 at 10:29
Hi brit,
I got selected on DV lottery 2022. while filling the form DS 260 form it keeps on saying Your request cannot be processed at this time. I have been trying for more than 3 hours.
and my other question is while filling the form my marital status is single. but i am in living relationship with my partner for past 3 years. could you please suggest me what should i do?
thank you
May 9, 2021 at 16:30
1. The site is busy, try later.
2. You should marry first, then submit the DS260 for you both.
May 9, 2021 at 10:39
Hi Simon, Thanks for your latest video insights. My husband has been selected for the 2022 lottery case num AF15XXX. we live in dubai but our children aged 17- 21 live and study in Africa. while filling the chid section of the ds260, should i indicate child lives with us since we will all migrate? also what location should we put for the kids. Are we all required to attend the interview at the same time as family or everyone will have their individula interviews? Thanks!
May 9, 2021 at 16:31
You will all interview together. So plan for that.
The child that is already 21 will probably have aged out and will not get a Greencard as part of your case. Make sure you understand that.
May 9, 2021 at 17:12
Thanks Simon. He was 20 when i put in my entry and just turned 21 this month. will he get a greencard in this case?
May 10, 2021 at 02:25
He will probably age out. You can calculate the exact date by reading here:
https://britsimonsays.com/child-turn-21-can-heshe-get-visa/
May 9, 2021 at 11:27
Hi Simon. As usual, thank you for your invaluable articles and videos. They’ve been very helpful.
I have a couple of questions I’m hoping to get your advice about please.
Firstly, I was wondering about education criteria for my spouse. I qualify based on my bachelors and high school education, but I’m not sure my husband would count as completing the 12 year criteria. Since I am the one that’s selected, is that an issue? I seem to remember reading somewhere that it’s the applicant’s info that is the important bit, but I can’t find it anywhere now.
Secondly, I’ve been having a look in the supporting documents page and it mentions military records. As my spouse was in the military, would I have to send in records for him or is this just in reference to myself?
Thanks so much again.

I have found the answer to my first question. I knew I had seen it somewhere.
May 9, 2021 at 16:35
1. Only the principal selectee needs to meet the criteria for education/work experience.
2. Both.

Thanks so much.

Hi Brit, I’ve been selected for further processing! My case number is 2022OC9xx, what do you think my chances are?
May 9, 2021 at 16:35
Good
May 9, 2021 at 13:44
Hi Simon, I am from Morocco and I was selected yesterday with Case Number 2022AF03XXX ; I know DV2022 will be affected by covid (Hopefully not as badly as 2021), but provided I have a relatively low case number and my embassy CSB is working (According to statistics, it has issued most visas in 2021 so far) Do you think I stand a chance?
May 9, 2021 at 16:38
Yes
May 9, 2021 at 14:17
Hello Simon,
Very productive blog, thank you for the information that you are sharing! 🙂
I am lottery winner, from EU
I made a mistake in the initial application and inserted name instead for surname, and vice versa. Will this be a cause of denial?
May 9, 2021 at 16:39
It can be fixed on the DS260. That would normally be OK unless they suspect fraud (multiple entries).
May 9, 2021 at 14:40
Hi brit, thanks again for your help through out this journey to America.
My case number is 2021AF18*** and I became current over 3months ago.
I have sent my Ds 260 last year June, I sent my documents 20 March 2021 but I forgot to add a written explanation on my two passport bio page one representing the old passport I used to enter the lottery which is expiring on 15 May 2021 and the renewed passport which will expire 2030 together with my Police clearance certificate and my Birth certificate, thus I got an email from KCC titled “FURTHER DV DOCUMENTS REQUIRED” on 22-March-2021.
So on 23-March-2021, I sent all the documents back to them with a written explanation concerning the two passports bio-page.
I’m afraid I might be doing something wrong
1.Please what do they mean by the content of the message?
2. Please what I’m I doing wrong?
3. Please send me with your email address so I can forward the email with attached documents sent to Kcc for you to access for me if I did something wrong you can help me rectify it.
Thank you very much Sir. ?
May 9, 2021 at 16:41
Other police certs, marriage documents, anything else?
May 9, 2021 at 17:14
No sir I am a single applicants, I went to India August 2016 and returned to Ghana January 2017, I am not required to submit a police certificate from India only the police certificate from Ghana and that is what I submitted in addition to my other documents that is birth certificate, and 2 copies of my passport bio page (old and new) resubmitted to KCC with a written explanation as to why there is two copies of passport in my submitted docs.
May 10, 2021 at 02:26
OK – well I don’t know the problem.
May 9, 2021 at 18:39
Hello Stephen. You should send written explanation as an attachment. Probably you are sending it just simple email format that’s why KKC asking for further documents. Write it in doc covert it to PDF attach it to your email and send it.
May 9, 2021 at 14:56
Hello! Just won the green card lottery. Am completing ds260, and not sure how to answer employment history questions. I’m an actor which means self employed, and have worked on dozens upon dozens of shows (even if for a day), in both background-extra capacities and actual cast roles. It would not be realistic to list all the shows/production companies as employers right (could be well over 100)? Some Ive worked on numerous times at different periods. Would it be okay to include just the agencies I’m with as employers instead? Thanks so much
May 9, 2021 at 16:42
You don’t list the agencies/clients, you just list self employed.
May 9, 2021 at 23:46
Regarding address details for self employment, I suspect Ill just list my own home then? Ill have to add each new address I moved into though under a new employer/self employed entry?
Im also presently in Australia doing a film, but here the client/production company considers me an employee for tax purposes, not self employed like in North America, and im worried if I put an Aus address as my current employer it will confuse things, as it wont match current address of where im living? I am australian. I live in North America, just happen to be on a job here now. Thanks so much
May 10, 2021 at 03:56
Number questions please!
1. Yes
2. Tell the truth – lying confuses things.
May 15, 2021 at 01:07
Sorry – will number! Still having trouble with this employment question with regard to acting work. Ill provide more background info.
Have been living and working as an actor in Canada since 2012. Repped by a Canadian agency , though as discussed actors are considered self employed. I moved addresses over the years in Canada a few times. In 2014 a US agent started repping me along with the existing Cad agent, and I still continued to live in Canada, still self employed, still moved addresses a couple of times in Canada. In 2019-2020 I moved to the USA on an 01 visa (sponsored by that same US agent) and was still self employed as an actor; continued to be simultaneously repped by the Cad agent and US agent whilst living in and working in US. I moved address once whilst in the US. At the end of 2020 I moved back to Canada to live and work as an actor, still self employed, still represented by US and Canada rep simultaniously (new Cad address). For the last few weeks ive been filming a movie in Australia, temporary address, still repped by my US agent, Cad agent, and now a new Australian agent. Its not clear whether im still self employed on this film but lets assume I am for now. In a couple of weeks I return to Canada to continue living and working; based out of existing Canadian address where I live.
1. How do I answer the present employer question?
2. How do I answer the employer address component of the question?
3. If I enter “other” and write “self employed” can I cover myself from 2012-present using my current Canadian addres ? Hence grouping it all together.
4 Will I even have a previous employment history regarding acting, if so how to answer?
5. I should NOT enter the agencies as employers, correct? The problem is they overlap and are located in three seperate countries.
6. I dont have to list the Australian address down under current address, as im only here on assignment for a couple of months?
Thank so much!
The very best regards,
-J

1. I already answered that – but just make a choice and stop overthinking.
2. See 1
3. That is what I said to do.
4. Dude – relax!
5. We covered this already…
6. Really, relax.

Below is the message I sent to Kcc explaining why I had two passport documents in response to the message they sent me for “further dv documents required to process my case” with resubmission of the attached documents for my case.
Dear Sir/ Madam,
I acknowledge the receipt of your email sent to me on 22nd March 2021 at 6:21 PM GMT.
The old passport with the number “G1322453” is the initial passport used for the entry of the “2021 DV Lottery in 2019” which was valid for more than 6months at the time of entry But will expire on15 May 2021.
I have a new passport with the number “G2941058” which will expire on 21 September 2030.
A copy of the old passport and the new passport bio-page is attached to this email
On 26 February 2021, I submitted my documents for further processing of my DV Lottery case.
Below is an attached document to be submitted for your perusal.
Thank you
Sincerely yours.
I’m afraid I might be doing something wrong
1. Please what I’m I doing wrong?
Thank you very much Sir. ?
May 9, 2021 at 16:45
Slow down and read my earlier reply.
May 9, 2021 at 18:24
Thank you sir, please I have read and answered your reply sir, a copy of the answer is below
No sir I am a single applicants, I went to India August 2016 and returned to Ghana January 2017, I am not required to submit a police certificate from India only the police certificate from Ghana because I didn’t stay in India not up to 6th month, I returned on my 5th month and that is what I submitted in addition to my other documents that is birth certificate, and 2 copies of my passport bio page (old and new) resubmitted to KCC with a written explanation as to why there is two copies of passport in my submitted docs.

Hi Brit. I have been selected (DV-2022). I have a partner who I’m not married to, but we are planning to get married soon. Should I complete the DS 260 form as soon as I can and adjust my marital status later (is it possible?) or should we get married first and complete the form then? Thank you very much
May 9, 2021 at 16:46
You can do either, marrying first is usually easier.
May 9, 2021 at 16:54
Thank you, so it won’t be a problem if I complete the DS 260 later in JUNE? Will it cause any disadvantage to complete it later? Thank you again!
May 9, 2021 at 18:50
OK, I’m awfully sorry. All the information I need is in the FAQ.

May 9, 2021 at 15:13
Hi Mr. Brit Simon,
First of all, I want to thank You for all the work that You do to help people to go through this process.
I’ve been selected for further processing and I’m very excited. However, I reviewed all the questions in DS260 form and I have a few questions which I cannot truly figure out by myself. The question is about education. I have a high school diploma – I got it in school where I spent my 11th and 12th years of school. Before that I was in another gymnasium since 5th class – do I need to fill in both schools even if I didn’t get the degree in gymnasium? Now I study in a university where I will be graduating from in June 2022. How should I write these things, can You explain?
Thanks in advance.
May 9, 2021 at 16:47
You list all the education institutions you attended since about age 12 – most recent first, regardless of the result.
May 9, 2021 at 15:13
Greetings SIMON
I am a DV2021 selectee – EU39XXX
Chargeability: GREECE
I was looking into the latest CURTISMORRISONLAW lawsuit, and I noticed it is required to provide COMPLETE DV info (CASE NUMBER, CONFIRMATION NUMBER etc.) to enter the lawsuit.
I understand why it would be necessary, for many reasons, as simple as weeding out fraudulent entries, but my main concern is security. I basically provide all information needed to log into ESC, or DS-260 application platform to observe or alter data.
1) Is this a reasonable concern?
2) Or am I being completely paranoid.
3) If I do enter the lawsuit, and by some miracle I end up with an interview scheduled, does this affect the statement in the ds260 form “Did anyone assist you in filling out this application?”
4) Can you post a link of where to see exactly which embassies are currently “open” for DV processing?
(I think I heard you say it in one of your videos, I went back listening 5-6 of your latest and can not find it)
Secondary and Unnecessary Information. (It might help a person or two)
I know my number is a ‘bit” high even by “regular year DV standards”. I have a better chance winning a prize on a lottery than getting an interview before SEPTEMBER.
I have contacted the US Embassy of ATHENS asking if they are ready to process DV cases but they haven’t received any from KCC, or if they DID receive them but they do not process DV cases for now, or ever. (In a more polite manner).
I got a better answer from the automated e-mail reply, than the actual answer that was “PLEASE VIST : XXXXX”
some article about general travel restrictions. Literally that’s all the e-mail said. They answered within 2 hours though.
It is frustrating, as KCC has no documents to process before the interview, it’s all done at the Embassy of Athens.
I live in FRANCE, but the Paris Embassy has not processed any cases yet either*(as I can see from the CEAC website), to say that I try my luck by requesting to change the appointment location.
As we say in Greece … “a hole in the water”
DV2022 did not pan out.
I ‘ll have to try my luck on DV2023.
Cheers!
P.S. I had to let it all out somewhere! I apologize.
May 9, 2021 at 16:50
1. No
2. Yes.
3. Overthinking.
4. https://savediversityvisa.org
What do you mean by KCC have no documents to process – they do – you are supposed to send them documents. Have you done that?
May 9, 2021 at 18:03
P.S. Is it possible to edit my initial comment where I mistakenly entered my e-mail address instead of a nickname?
If not Is is possible to delete it?
If you believe that it holds valuable information for others I can repost it.
Here’s the confirmation I got after submitting the DS-260.
I feel silly and confused right now, did I misunderstand.
Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration Application Confirmation
Thank You
Your Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration Application (DS-260) was sent to the Kentucky Consular Center (KCC) for
review.
Next Steps
All Diversity Visa applicants must:
1. Obtain required supporting civil documents.
2. Obtain photographs that meet the Department of State’s visa requirements.
3. Review the information specific to the U.S. Embassy/Consulate General where your visa interview will occur.
——–>You do not need to submit any documentation to the Kentucky Consular Center. The KCC will review your application
and will notify you if any of the information you have provided is insufficient or incomplete. Your DS-260 application
will be kept on file with KCC until a visa number is available for you and your case can be scheduled. When your case
is scheduled, the KCC will send you an email message directing you to log into the Entrant Status Check (ESC)
website for further instructions. <————————-
If you would like to change your interview location, you must contact the Kentucky Consular Center by sending an email to ([email protected]) before your interview is scheduled. Your e-mail must include your name and case
number, and must clearly indicate where you would like to be interviewed. Please note that once you have an
appointment, you must contact the consular section where you have been scheduled in order to request a change. It
may not be possible to change the location of your interview after you have been scheduled.
This confirms the submission of the Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration application for:
May 10, 2021 at 02:35
I edited the post.
The email you quoted is an old version, they have told me they should not be using. You have to submit documents via email. If you don’t you will not be scheduled for interview. Read this link:

May 10, 2021 at 07:52
… Every time I heard you say “send your documents” and later “send your bloody documents” in the past few months,
I would go back and read the DS-260 confirmation page, that said that I do not need to submit any documents.
Oh dear… Well, thank you SIMON! I’ll get on with it, hoping it might make a difference!
I feel betrayed by my own brain, what have I done! 😀
Have a great day!
May 10, 2021 at 23:46
Well the DS260 statement is correct – no documents are uploaded to the DS260 – they are sent by email. It’s in the bloody instructions! 😉
May 12, 2021 at 12:36
I know what you ‘re thinking, Make it times-a-thousand and you will be absolutely correct.
Especially since I have been reading these instructions at least once a month since June 2020.
P.S. I am an i****

Hello dear simon
Thanks for helping us
I am selected for Dv 2022
I have a question please answer
I spell my name (Ehsanullah) in all my documents like passport , identity card , etc .
But only in my high school diploma it is written (Ahsanullah) A instead of E , now should I do anything and does it make any problem ?
Thank you
May 10, 2021 at 04:03
Should not be a problem, although you can make it safer by listing that name variation on your DS260 in the “other names” section.
May 9, 2021 at 15:14
Mr. BritSimon,
I am one of the luckiest one to be selected in this years DV Lottery with a case number of 2022AS00012### from Nepal. I have some queries that i need some help with. I have listed my 3 kids in my application but after having won the lottery, now i would like them to finish their schooling in Nepal and join me after 7, 8 years time…right now i am in the process of filling up the DS 260 form, i saw some questions there regarding children “immigrating now” and “joining later”. What options should i choose if i want them to join me after 7, 8 years?
Also, on the first page on DS260 form, i see all my children name listed…do i need to complete their applications now, if i dont want to take them with me now or should i only complete mine, the principal applicant.
Please advise. Thank you.
May 9, 2021 at 16:51
1. Joining later.
2. No – only complete a DS260 for those travelling now.
May 10, 2021 at 06:52
Thank you for the prompt reply.
May 9, 2021 at 16:00
Hello Brit!
I’m (DV 21 winner) trying to log in to my ds260. But it says, “your request cannot be processed at this time”. Is it just a server issue or i am blocked as I logged in many times ! ?
May 9, 2021 at 16:36
Hello sir,
My case number for dv-2022 is unfortunately high 2022AF51XXX. I’m from morocco, if I follow Dvcharts website statistics. No body from my country with this number or larger has ever made it to the inteview stage. Do you think there is a tiny chance to get an interview with this number in 2022?Thanks!!
Regards
May 9, 2021 at 17:00
Your assumption is incorrect. That number might not be that high, but it is too early to know. Patience.
May 9, 2021 at 16:41
Dear Simon
I hope you are well my friend.I have a few questions that perhaps you can help me with:
1- is apostille mandatory when bringing documents to the interview ?
2: is a host the same as a sponsor ? (Eg ds260)
2- My sponsor is a business owner in Florida. When I asked him for i134, W2, 1040 and payslips, he told me that he doesn’t pay himself and thus doesn’t have W2 and payslips. Do you think that is fine for the interview ?
3- Can my host and my sponsor be 2 different persons ? For example if I ask someone else in Texas to be my sponsor because the first one doesn’t have W2 and payslips but at the same time (as per my ds260) my host will be the one from Florida because that’s is where I am going. Can that cause trouble? What can you advise?
4- shall the green card delivery address be the one of my sponsor ? Example my sponsor is in Texas but because I’ll be in Florida I choose the green card to be mailed in Florida.
Thanks a lot Simon
Andy
May 9, 2021 at 16:59
1. Read the country specific instructions.
2. No. The US address you give in the DS260 is simply where the GC is to be sent.
3. No problem.
4. See 2.
May 9, 2021 at 17:23
Thanks Simon
What about for this question: (sorry I named 2 questions with number 2)
2- My sponsor is a business owner in Florida. When I asked him for i134, W2, 1040 and payslips, he told me that he doesn’t pay himself and thus doesn’t have W2 and payslips. Do you think that is fine for the interview ?
May 10, 2021 at 02:28
Then he provides 1040 tax reports.
