Hey brit!
Do you think sending my package for AOS on mid june(CN AS8***) will give USCIS enough time to process it? Will I be able to successfully complete the process of I send the package in mid june?
May 9, 2021 at 16:57
DV2021? Why would you wait until then?
May 9, 2021 at 17:17
Because my CN is not curremt yet and I won’t be able to do the biometric until mid june for some personal reasons.
May 10, 2021 at 02:27
OK, well you will have to give it a shot. Other AOS cases have submitted after that and still been processed in time.
May 9, 2021 at 16:58
Hi Simon,
something lucky happened, i won DV21 and with Case number EU34XXX (a high number) so filled out the DV22 again, as there was high risk that we can not get a greencard. And this time my wife won with a EU10xxx number.
Question is:
– when would you suggest filling in DS260 ?
– would filling a new set of DS260 somewhat confuse cases ? (as we already have unprocessed DS260 forms for whole family in KCC)
– is there any consequence, or any issue that we should be careful about ? (that we are in the process for both DV21 and DV22 for the family)
May 10, 2021 at 02:05
1. Now
2. No
3. No problem.
May 11, 2021 at 00:19
Hi Brit, if I already sent my documents and they sent me the “OK”, but then I have to unlock my DS260, do I have to send my documents again ??????
May 11, 2021 at 03:11
Only if the documents changed.
May 9, 2021 at 17:26
Hi Simon, I was selected yesterday with CN 2022AF03XXX. I know that DV2022 will still be impacted by covid (hopefully not as badly as 2021) But provided I have a relatively low number and my consulate (CSB) is working (According to statistics, it has processed most 2021 visas so far), do think I stand a chance in getting a visa? Will it be in early FY2022? Thanks in advance.
May 9, 2021 at 18:23
I meant it has issued visas more than any other consulates.
May 10, 2021 at 02:29
You gave a good chance. Submit the DS260 early.
May 10, 2021 at 21:53
Hello Brit
I need your help please i have won the diversity lottery 2022 and i wanted to fill the DS260 form but as i’m entering my case number (without the zero’s) , my surname , age and dv confirmation number a message appears to me every time “your request cannot be processed at this time” i’m wondering if you can help me with that. Thank you so much you have been a helper since the first dv lottery i entered 2020 and i failed but here i am thank God and thanks to you i have won this one
May 10, 2021 at 23:30
And i’m sorry i forgot to ask if i need a sponsor i have already a family friend in NY he’s my host but i was wondering if i have to have a sponsor and if yes what should i do now because i know every single process after being selected but the DS260 isn’t even accepting my data i tried many times yesterday and today as well i’m sorry for the headache and thank you
May 11, 2021 at 00:20
And lastly my case number is 17xxx so is it likely to be early interviewed for DV-2022 ?
May 11, 2021 at 00:22
Sorry “AF17xxx” .. i’m so sorry i have been extremely anxious about my result and I can’t get myself together or my thoughts so I’m really sorry for asking a lot .. God bless you
May 11, 2021 at 03:11
Yep – that is a low number.
May 11, 2021 at 02:53
You may need someone to complete an I-134 for you – read the FAQ.
Try the DS260 is a few days time.
May 11, 2021 at 00:40
The servers are busy, wait a few days then try again.
May 9, 2021 at 18:11
Hi Brit, I hope you’re doing well, I am a Sudanese doctor working full time job in KSA and I have been selected in DV lottery 2021, my number below 1500 , I have received a confirmation email that my case is ready to be scheduled when my number is current and appointments are available, however I don’t receive anything from them, so I wonder if I can apply as national interest and how can I do so?
May 10, 2021 at 02:37
Unfortunately no. You might want to consider the lawsuits.
May 9, 2021 at 18:41
Good day Simon,
I am a DV2021 winner. I submitted my Ds260 on the 10th of January 2021, but have not received any correspondence requesting my supporting documents.
I know the Covid-19 situation has caused delays and put most DV2021 winners at risk.
My question is whether or not I should have received correspondence by now asking for my supporting documents?
Is there anything I can do?
Thank you in advance.
Kind Regards
Sasha-Leigh
May 10, 2021 at 02:41
As I have been saying for months, you should have sent your documents. You should do that now although it might already be too late.
May 9, 2021 at 18:49
Hello BritSimon, I need your honest opinion on my (spouse) case, taking into account all that is happening at the moment, and all that you have warned us all about.
My spouse is DV2021 winner, EU region (EU country, non Schengen area, US embassy open and working “normaly”), CN 2***.
DS260 submitted in March, requested documents submitted in April, in April received KCC “ready for scheduling” email, no interview notification e-mail up to date.
1. In your opinion, what are our realistic changes of getting interview date in June, July, August or September?
Additional questions:
2. if interview is, hopefully, successfully organized in (let say) last working day in September, is this ok? Or DV visa has to be stamped in passport before 30th Sept 2021?
3. If DV visa is stamped in passport on last working day in September 2021, one can still after that travel to USA as a green card holder? Or one has to be in USA before 30th September?
May 10, 2021 at 02:43
1. I can’t predict the exact odds.
2. That would be OK
3. Think about it, why would they issue the visas if they were to be invalid a few hours later. You have time to enter (6 months after your medical).
May 9, 2021 at 19:25
Hello sir, I have sent my documents since september last year, However on 21 april I got an email from KCC to ask me for “Further DV Documents Required”. I have sent them for asking document conformation, do they satisfied my documents or not. Today I got my response from KCC with:
Thank you for your inquiry.
After sending documents to [email protected], you will receive an automatic reply to your email. If there are no attachments, the auto reply explains there are no documents attached to the email. If there are attachments, the auto reply explains we received your email and are currently processing your documents. Please allow time for processing of your documents. Documents are processed in numerical order, based on lottery rank number. Once KCC has processed your documents, we will let you know if anything is missing or if we have received everything needed.
In order for the Kentucky Consular Center to assist with inquiries regarding a specific Diversity Visa (DV) case, you must provide the Principal Applicant’s full name, complete case number, and date of birth in the following format (MMDDYYYY) as entered on the original entry. Please remember that the Kentucky Consular Center does not have the authority to tell you whether or not your specific case will be disqualified. Only a consular officer can do that at the time of your visa interview. Do not send any paper documents to the Kentucky Consular Center.
1. What does it mean?
2. what should I do next?
3. Do you think do I get benefit to participant the lawsuit my CN AS18K?
May 10, 2021 at 02:46
1. It could mean several things – so I can’t guess why they sent that email in your case.
2. Keep trying to get an answer from them.
3. It may be worthwhile, yes.
May 9, 2021 at 19:42
I’m unable to get to my DS-260 form. I’ve tried numerous times but it keeps saying ‘your request cannot be processed at this time’. I’m thinking this may be due to the server being busy. In any case, I have been looking through the example document and came across a couple of things I wanted to ask you.
1) I lived in the states a long time ago (was very young 10 or 11). I did have a social security number then. I’m guessing I can include this (although technically I did not request it)?
2) In relation to the social media accounts, I’m assuming these are all personal accounts and not those used for business purposes?
3) Do we need a ‘petitioner’? Someone in the US that can I guess back us up?
4) I’m currently a stay at home mum and run a small online shop (so self-employed really). Will the fact that I am currently not working affect my application at all? And what if I’m not sure yet what field of work I will be doing in the states?
I apologise for all the questions. I didn’t even realise I had so many.
Thanks Simon
May 10, 2021 at 02:49
Servers busy, wait.
1. Yes you use that number.
2. Correct
3. Not a petitioner per se, but maybe someone willing to complete an I-134 for you. Search my site for I134.
4. No impact.
May 9, 2021 at 21:10
Thanks Simon-
What about for this question: (sorry I named 2 questions with number 2)
2- My sponsor is a business owner in Florida. When I asked him for i134, W2, 1040 and payslips, he told me that he doesn’t pay himself and thus doesn’t have W2 and payslips. Do you think that is fine for the interview ?
Thanks buddy !
May 9, 2021 at 21:51
Hi Simon,
I’m currently filling in my DS-260.
Regarding the residential address section, I know I will be moving out of my current home in a few months (as my lease is ending / I do not know where I will be moving yet) so by the time I have my interview, my address will be different to what I’ve written on the DS-260.
Will this cause any issues?
Would it be best to inform the interviewer on the day?
The police certificate that I have completed will also have my current address on it (not the one that I will be moving to).
Thank you,
Jess
May 9, 2021 at 21:57
I should mention, that I will be staying in the same city / same interview location.
May 9, 2021 at 22:19
Hello brit,
Hope ur doing well.
I have question might be strange.
I was selected for Dv 2020 and entered US previous March, I was hopeless because of what happened with the COVID situation and I applied again in case trump win and I couldn’t have the chance to make it, Yesterday I checked my 2022 and i found that I won again, is it possible to transfer it to my boyfriend once in middle east We don’t don’t have LGBT right.
I really appreciate ur support.
May 10, 2021 at 01:58
No, the whole DV case is sorrounded around the main apicant, which I assume is you. So no, not possible
May 10, 2021 at 03:52
You cannot transfer your win to someone else.
May 10, 2021 at 06:52
Even If in mu country they kill gay people!!
May 10, 2021 at 23:40
DV Lottery is not the solution to that problem.
May 10, 2021 at 23:46
Asking for asylum could be an option
May 9, 2021 at 22:22
hello brit I am 2021eu23xxx allow me the question, I sent the documents on April 17th under your advice without receiving an email request and obviously I have not received an answer yet because soon, do you think my case can have some hope by calculating the remaining time? also would it make sense to join some cause without having received the ready to be scheduled and consequent 2nd letter could help me? thanks I really appreciate your answer and I highly value your advice
May 10, 2021 at 03:53
I can’t predict what will happen in your case – there is much uncertainty right now about processing of documents and scheduling.
May 9, 2021 at 22:32
Hi Simon, I married traditionally and entered the lottery with my husband and I have been selected. Can we marry officially and then submit our DS-260? Can that cause any problems for me? Thanks for your altruism.
May 10, 2021 at 03:53
That would normally be OK – marry asap.
May 11, 2021 at 10:08
Pls I have a similar case
May 11, 2021 at 10:11
Hi Simon,
I need your advice
I got married traditional last year February. I entered the dv lottery in October as married.
Then I officially sign my court wedding in April 2021 then result came out in May.
Can that cause any problem? Since I entered as married but my marriage certificate is showing I got married in April?
May 11, 2021 at 16:49
No problem.
May 10, 2021 at 00:21
Hi sir, I have been selected for dv 2022. Case no AF6**9. When can I expect an interview under these circumstances because my passport is due to expire in September 2022. Thank you
May 10, 2021 at 03:57
Low number so maybe later this year. Submit your DS260 soon.
May 10, 2021 at 01:07
Hey Brit ,
I want to ask you about my sister situation she a winner on dv2021 and she completed all the documents and already sent to the KCC but we concern about the sponsor we thinking about my cousin he is a green card holder also a winner on the dv2018 he was working and everything filing tax and do his duties however in the past year he been unemployed because of the pandemic and he took unemployment relief for couple of months he is a doctor and he got selected to do his residency in Indiana university he going to start working there next month and he have his employment papers already do you think he will be a good sponsor to her regarding the KCC and the council office we are worried for making him the sponsor for her what do you think ??
Thanks in advance
May 10, 2021 at 04:04
That should be fine, as the income will probably exceed the poverty level.
May 10, 2021 at 01:15
Good evening Brit. Tell Me Please the name of a free lawsuit?
May 10, 2021 at 01:56
There is no free lawsuit, unless one of the current ones gets class action certification, which is unlikely
May 10, 2021 at 02:44
Hi brit,
Can you please suggest to me a lawsuit for Green card 2021?

May 10, 2021 at 12:50
Hello Brit,
I’m in the waiting list of ImmPact Litigation (gsiskind). I only sent my name and they haven’t notified me yet that they’re adding me as plaintiff. Now I want to participate in Curtis Morrison lawsuit. My questions are:
1. Does it mean I’m named plaintiff of gsiskind?
2. Is it possible for me to participate in Curtis Morrison lawsuit? (One of the requirements to participate in this lawsuit is Not be named plaintiff in any other ligitations).
Thank you in advance.
May 11, 2021 at 00:14
1. No
2. Only one lawsuit – so you need to check with Siskind.
May 10, 2021 at 04:04
There are no free lawsuits that I know of at this time.
May 10, 2021 at 03:03
Hi Brit,
Hope you are doing well.
I won the dv-2022 with case number AS6xxx.
I also admitted to the school and will be starting Master degrees in the US from this fall.
I am now thinking obtaining F1, and then processing Green Card after successfully
entering the US.
However I’ve already started filling DS260 without any knowledge regarding F1 and Green Card. But I’ve not submitted yet. Will it affect my obtaining F1?
Thank you in advance!
May 10, 2021 at 04:10
Yes that could affect the F1
May 10, 2021 at 04:19
Hi Brit.I’m a daily silent follower of your blog for 4 years now.thanks for the knowledge I got abt the dv process.
I’m so devastated, disappointed… So in pain coz I never been lucky to b selected, for 9 years since I’m trying but still not lucky.so hurtful when there’s others that got selected twice in a raw and other without passports.
Life so hard here in Africa, wish can find another way to reach USA coz that’s my dream land…plz help if u can…..thanks
May 10, 2021 at 04:40
The reason that DV is so coveted is because other methods are very difficult. Have you considered Europe?
May 11, 2021 at 00:33
Thanks dear Brit
May 11, 2021 at 01:09
Thanks dear Brit. I have no choice right now.Any European countries where I can find myself while waiting for my american dream to b true.plz help if u can will email you my details. thanks
May 10, 2021 at 04:31
Hello Mr. Simon,
I am 2021AS84xx, Based on KCC Email, I submitted the documents to KCC on Oct 2020 and still not received confirmation for documents. while submitted the documents, now I checked that i have submitted just the translated required documents not the original once.
The questions are :
1- Should I resubmit the document package once more in this stage ?
2- If I resubmit, would it harm and make delay my case process ?
Regards,
Kaz
May 10, 2021 at 04:41
1. Yes
2. Well it can’t make it any worse than the position you are in at this time!
May 10, 2021 at 05:49
Hi Simon, there was a link posted here previously which show which email KCC are responding to based on date of receipt. Please can you post the link here if you know. I have sent email to KCC and have still not heard from them.

Hello Brit Simon,
My husband is a DV lottery winner from France with CN EU26XXX. Hard to know whether it is a high number these last couple of years but seems to be.
In your FAQ article you mentioned that for high numbers we should wait for the number of selectees to be revealed in July/August before submitting DS260 because submitting could avoid us from getting another VISA in the meantime.
Question:
1. Considering the situation with COVID and French Embassy not doing interviews for 2021 right now. Should we submit right now or we can wait for July/August 2021?
2. When you say submitting can avoid us from getting another visa, until when is that true? (My husband could ask for a transfer to the US through work in 2022)
Thank you so much for your help
May 10, 2021 at 23:34
1. It certainly would not harm to wait for a couple of months until we know more…
2. Some visa types are not a problem – but a DS260 submission can come up for some visa types for years.
May 10, 2021 at 06:37
Hi simon
i have won the dv 2022 , im engaged since 2020 (Before apply for Dv lottery) and its scheduled to get married next August ,
for applying Ds-260 , should i add her as my wife ? since for interview (October) we will be already married
Note : my case number s 2700
May 10, 2021 at 23:39
No you cannoyt say she is your wife until you are married. I would suggest you marry first, then apply.
May 10, 2021 at 06:52
Hi BritSimon, Me and my wife are students in US on F1 visa. My wife got the DV2022 with DV2022AS18XXX. |
1. I suppose we can file for AOS as we are already in US?
2. Should we also fill DS 260?
3. Do you have an estimate for AOS timeline through UCIS for DV?
4. Given the higher number, AS18XXXX . We are worried that we will end up not getting processed through UCIS by sept. 2022 and the display of the intent of immigration would hinder our maintenance of F1 status.
How should we proceed?
Appreciate all your hard work on getting us the information and guidance.
May 10, 2021 at 23:43
1. Yes – but only once your case number is current which will be a long time from now.
2. THat is optional for AOS cases.
3. 2 to 4 months typically.
4. There is nothing you can do for now so don’t do anything yet. As time goes by you can learn more and make a smart decision later. Read the link below and DV related AOS.
https://forums.immigration.com/threads/dv-2022-aos-adjustment-of-status-only.344334
May 11, 2021 at 02:26
Thank you for the quick reply and the forum link. I am going through the spreadsheet and trying to absorb everything.
One quick question.
I am aware that we cannot travel while the AOS is in processing.
I was wondering if brief abroad travel with F1 NIV before filling the AOS would have any impact on AOS process?
Thanks again for all your help!
May 11, 2021 at 03:03
Ask Mom AOS questions.
May 10, 2021 at 07:26
Hello Brit. I am a Ghanaian and a DV 20201 selectee – AF13***. My case has been ready for scheduling for a few months now (Accra Embassy not taking cases). Per your advice I entered the DV2022 lottery and again I got selected – this time with a higher case number – 2022AF35***
1. Is it by coincidence that I got selected again or it’s because KCC is giving some 2021 winners a chance?
2. Will filling another DS260 cause an issue?
Thank You.
May 10, 2021 at 23:44
1. Coincidence.
2. No
May 11, 2021 at 00:41
Hi Kay, congrats on winning the double. If I may ask which month did you receive the ready for scheduling mail?
May 11, 2021 at 07:38
@Asare, I received it in February.
May 10, 2021 at 07:27
Dear Simon,
Here’s the link to Visa Bulletin for May 2021:
https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-bulletin/2021/visa-bulletin-for-may-2021.html
However, it looks like there is no mention of DV-2022, the text is all about DV-2021. So do the cut-off numbers presented about the DV category in the text relate to DV-2022 at all? If so, the cut-off number for Europe is 18,000 and my Case number (yes, I’ve been selected) is 2022EU90XX. Any chances with such a number?
Best regards.
May 10, 2021 at 23:45
The current VB has nothing to do with DV2022.
However, your case number is low – so you might get current toward the end of 2021.
May 10, 2021 at 08:02
My wife is the main winner, and I have a daughter with her, and I have two daughters from my previous wife, and they live with me and my current wife, and upon the introduction, they were added with us. have we have any problem with my daughters because they not daughters for my current wife?
May 10, 2021 at 23:47
That is no problem. They are “step children” of your wife and so they can be processed just as her own child.
May 10, 2021 at 09:07
Hi Brit,
My friend got selected for edv . She had applied for single. We are planning for marry very soon now. Can she add me as spouse in DS260 form and after getting married we will submit marriage certificate. Will there be in complication for getting visa? Her case id is 2022AS00010xxx.
Regards,
Anup
May 10, 2021 at 23:49
Umm – yes that is all ok. I’m a little surprised you call her your friend. The marriage must be real.
May 11, 2021 at 05:35
Thank you for your quick reply. She is my girlfriend. Her case id is 10000 above, shall we wait to fill the DS-260 form till we marry.
May 11, 2021 at 06:34
Yes
May 10, 2021 at 09:21
Hi Sir Am a DV 2022 selectee, My cn is AF353*8. Please it is likely I will go for interview. Thank you
May 10, 2021 at 23:50
It’s probably not a bad number so you have a chance, but it is too early to be sure.
May 10, 2021 at 10:42
Hey, Can I still travel on my expired DV2020 issued in September please? Cheers
May 10, 2021 at 23:56
Yes there is still time – get on with it!
May 10, 2021 at 10:49
Hi Brit, wish you doing well and i thank you for your support.
Couple questions:
1. I won the lottery 2022 with case number EU26000 in Albania. Do you think i have any chance on being selected for a visa interview?
2. I have been previously in US, I unlawfully entered the country to seek asylum. In the meantime of my hearing process, worked and studied for 6 years until Dec 2010 when my case was denied and i was deported back to Albania respecting all the instructions and dates by the officer on Apr 2011.
Since then i have never been in US. My question is, do you thing this would be a problem? If so is anything i can do to fix it? I heard from some people that is a way to apply for a pardon.
Please help.
Thank you in advance.
Mike
May 10, 2021 at 23:57
1. Hopefully. It is too early to make any guesses.
2. You would have been under a 10 year ban – which would have expired by now. So as long as you didn’t get a lifetime ban, you should be OK.
May 10, 2021 at 12:38
Hi Simon, Thanks for your help always. Another question. My hubby won the DV 2022 and we are filling the ds260. he doesnt want to immigrate initially with his son as he doesnt have consent from the mother. (we included him in the dv lottery entry). On the child ds entry, he ticked the will not migrate together then another question popped of will he join you later, he clicked yes. please advise how to go about filling this part? He is willing to process his case later if he gets his documents…should we just put No on both fields? Also will the son who is not migrating now be required in the interview?
May 11, 2021 at 00:02
If the child is not migrating he does not need his own DS260. Answer questions with common sense.
May 11, 2021 at 02:19
Thanks Simon! Yes i thought so, but my worry was all the derivatives are in one file. So will the file read as complete if one person has not filled their ds260? Many thanks for clarifying, we will go ahead and submit for those migrating.
May 11, 2021 at 03:04
Each form has its own status.
May 10, 2021 at 12:41
What can we do DV 2021 Winners OMG we are going to loss our chance
May 10, 2021 at 13:21
exactly, a year that has never begun is almost finished. Worst year ever……….what a luck, we had!!!
May 10, 2021 at 13:02
Hi Brit,
1) I sent my documents on March, 17th. I haven’t received the documents confirmation yet. One of my police certificates expires on June, 6th.
=> Do I send the whole package again in June with the new police certificate?
2) Things are falling apart with my wife. She won’t come with me. I am the main applicant. Do I send a message to KCC to let them know that I will continue on my own or do I do it with the embassy after the interview is scheduled?
With all what is happening the KCC, which is the best option? I don’t want to add confusion to my case at KCC.
Thank you so much for your help!
May 11, 2021 at 00:15
1. No. Police certs are accepted up to 12 months old.
2. With the embassy.
May 10, 2021 at 14:17
Hi Brit Simon,
I have completed and submitted my DS260 application. Can I sign in again to review it (not edit, but review it)?

Dear Simon,
thank you very much for your support. I have a question regarding my name in my birth certificate.
I am a German citizen with Turkish background. In my passport and other documents I am identified with my surname Boga. Because there do not exist the letter Ğ. But in the Birthcertificate my surname is written (BOĞA). The problem is that I can not write my maiden name in the field “Other Names Used“ because it shows error due to Ğ. Should I write it in the field “full name in Native Language”? But like I said, my surname in my passport is just written as BOGA. I am very confused, so should I write in the field “other names used” or “name in native Alphabet” ?
I would be very grateful if you could answer these questions. I appreciate your help!

Use Boga.

Good morning Simon thanks for everything
My number is 2021-AS13,900. I sent my documents in March and since the start of this whole dv process I have not received a single email from them. The current number for Asia in May now is 13,000.
Is there anything wrong with the application this year? I know they were delayed until Biden. I asked them a few emails and they respond “your documents are still being processed”
1. Is there anything I can do to guarantee my Green Card at this stage?
2. I had to send a 2nd email when submitting my documents 2 days later as there was a mistake with one of the certificates, shall I re-send a new email with the complete package or it wont even help?
Thank you very much

There are LOTS of problems this year. It’s amazing you don’t know that already.
1. No. You can join a lawsuit to improve your chance, but no guarantees.
2. Send it.

Hi there. There’s a question in the security bit of the DS260 form about documents for vaccinations. When clicking ‘no’ it asks for an explanation. I’m not sure what is meant by this? What documentation does it need?
May 11, 2021 at 00:24
JUst put “you will have any vaccinations as recommended by the physician”.
May 11, 2021 at 08:58
Thank you Simon.
May 10, 2021 at 16:38
Hi Brit,
I have summited my DS260 in June 2021 and sent my documents in August 2021. I was reading one of your post and it seems that I forgot to add my high school education to the DS-260.
Since my case is still at NVC /KCC, do you think I can request to unlock my DS-260 and add my education (high school and middle school)?
Also, I don’t need to resubmit my documents right?
Thanks,
May 11, 2021 at 00:24
Don’t unlock now. Just wait.

hello Mr. simon i think i may have fallen into the hands of scammers, this is what happens… i visited a friend and during my stay,i decide to visit him at work, hes a teacher. some people came around claiming they are dvlottery agents and they are registering teachers and people for the american lottery free and that was the first time i heard about this dvlottery, i barely knew much about dvlottery and it interest me to move into the USA, so i went to them and they took my data and they told me it done and i will be contacted soon once i won, i never asked for my confirmation number because i have no idea. they never told me about it and they left, well am not the only person whose data or information they took to do the registration. the next day i decided to research on this dvlottery because i don’t have a smartphone then, i borrowed my friends smartphone and begins to look dvlottery up and that was when i realize am supposed to get a confirmation number after the registration, i even heard rumors on the net about scammers that claims to agents that would steal or take your data and would not give you your confirmation number and when you wins they would swap your wining position for sales to others. now after getting to know all this i learn about the registration online and eversince then do the registration for myself and it been six (6) years now, i keep registering but never won? i feel i my old stolen information may have been selected(won) but maybe it been traded or sold by this very scammers who have it . my question is ……if yes maybe i won and my position is sold to someone or maybe this scammers are re-using my info to register while am also registering making it double hence disqualifying me .. i feel this could be why am always losing but then i think the introduction of the passport too would have save me but then… is there anyway this problem could be fix? thank you.
May 11, 2021 at 00:25
Fix what? You suspect someone is entering in your name?
May 14, 2021 at 13:48
fixing as in preventing those scammers from using my name to register alongside me.
yes please, i suspect those scammers might be using my name to register.
May 14, 2021 at 18:46
Well I have no way to stop them doing that – but they can only enter if they have your full details including DOB and passport info.

Hello Mr.Simon,
I played the dv lottery for 2022 but unfortunately I can’t find my confirmation number. I have tried to retrieve it by clicking on “forgot confirmation number” have filled in all information required but still can’t get it. But I tried same process for a friend who lost hers and succeeded . So please I don’t know if there’s any particular reason why I can’t access mine
May 11, 2021 at 00:29
Well it sounds like you are doing something wrong – but obviously I can’t guess what.
May 10, 2021 at 18:47
Hi Simon,
I just found out that I’ve been selected, my case number is 2022EU00014XXX.
I had a few questions about my situation. I work as a research postdoc in the US on a J1 Visa for 2 years now. I came with my girlfriend, who is also a postdoc on a J1 Visa. I found on your blog that if we get married before I submit the application it should be fine for her to get a green card too.
Since we are already in the US, it looks like I need to do an adjustment of status and not a DS-260 application. The only problem is that my Visa is expired since March last year (we didn’t have the opportunity to go back to France to renew it because of covid), which is not an issue for me since I don’t need it to stay here and work here as long as my DS2019 is good. But it looks like the Visa has to be valid for an adjustment. Did you hear about a situation like that?
Thanks so much for your help

Hi Simon,
I won 2022 DV lottery. I checked the results as soon as they announced it and filled my DS260 very next day (at 9th May 2021). I am at Turkey and very very excited about the situation and don’t want to make any mistakes so i have a question for you.
Should i hold my horses and wait for a response for my DS260 or just send my documents right away?
Like i’ve said, i am so excited about this so any advice would be much appreciated.
Thank you in advance!

Case number?
May 10, 2021 at 19:13
Hi Brit, hope you have a good time
I just received an email from KCC asking for documents, all my documents are ready to send, however I haven’t received a police certificate yet and as I read in reciprocity for Afghanistan it’s mentioned that (police certificate for Afghanistan: Partially available for very limited periods. Not required for the U.S. visa process due to their unreliability), should I still apply to receive it or not?
Thank you,
May 11, 2021 at 00:32
No.
May 10, 2021 at 19:37
Good morning Sir ,
As we have read on your blog from many member kcc sent for requirement documents ,
1 – does k c c continue processing documents?
Thank you Sir
May 11, 2021 at 00:32
I can’t be certain.

Hi Brit, I am a winner of DV2021 my case number is 32xxx and I am from EU-Montenegro. I sent my ds-260 and my documents I also got an automatic email response, that documents need 3 to 6 weeks to be proceeded. I would like to know, is there any chance for my case number to be selected for further processing, that is having a chance to get a visa?
May 11, 2021 at 00:33
I don’t know – all you can do is wait and see.
May 10, 2021 at 19:58
Hi Simon
I had asked KCC to switch my interview location before I joined Curtis Morrison lawsuit . But KCC hasn’t responded to my email yet. 1-
1- Should I ask again or wait for the outcome of the lawsuit?
2- do you think the attorneys will ask KCC to process my documents now, or only the judge can do that ?
May 11, 2021 at 00:34
1. Your choice.
2. The judge would direct the government, not the lawyers.

Good evening Brit.i applied for the dv lottery when my passport was two months expired and I won. However during the application process I said it was left two months to expire, now I have a new passport,do I stand any chance to be disqualified for applying with an expired passport?
May 11, 2021 at 00:35
Sooooo, you deliberately lied, and wonder if that would cause a problem. Do you really need to ask?
May 10, 2021 at 20:32
Hey Simon
I’m unable to get police certificate because the country i live in under dictatorship so i cant get any police certificate to submit the supporting documents. Will this issue affect me in scheduling me for interview and if i made it to the interview will it affect me
thanks for your help!!
May 11, 2021 at 00:36
You should read the reciprocity page instructions for that country.
May 10, 2021 at 21:06
Hello there, Even though I typed the correct DV lottery confirmation number and other info, it keeps saying invalid information. I have confirmation on my hand. I have also tried with forgot confirmation, but still says invalid information. It would be great if you tell me how to solve this issue? Thank you.
