The numbers are released – theses are for June interviews.
AFRICA 34,150 (Last month 32,700)
Except:
Egypt:24675 (Last month 20,900)
Ethiopia: 30000 (Last month 25,750)
ASIA – 5950 (Last month 5275)
EUROPE – 34125 (Last month 30,300)
OCEANIA – 1175 (Last month 1075)
SOUTH AMERICA, and the CARIBBEAN – 1075 (Last month 1025)
Just as a matter of interest – these were my predictions from my 2NL analysis a couple of weeks ago. I pretty much nailed it – although EU is very slightly above my estimate (by 126 CNs!)
AF – 34XXX – 35XXX
EU – 32XXX – 33XXX
AS – 58XX – 59XX
OC – 1150 – 1200
SA – surprise!
If your number has become current AND your DS260 is processed, then you can expect an email in about 7 to 10 days from now. The email doesn’t have the appointment details but simply prompts you to check the ESC website where your 1NL (selected letter) will have been replaced by an appointment letter.
If you do not understand how to understand the Visa Bulletin – please read this – How to read and understand the visa bulletin.
Also please see the historical visa bulletin numbers here to compare progress this year to previous years.

Hello brit.hope you are safe.looking at the visa bulletin do I still stand a chance with case number Af73166
April 17, 2020 at 10:38
Hello britsimon I do believe you are safe.please looking at the visa bulletin.Do I still stand a chance with case number Af 73xxx
April 17, 2020 at 22:44
I don’t know. I certainly don’t think you can think of your number as being “safe”. All you can do is wait and see.
May 4, 2015 at 17:55
Hi
I am from liberia.5000 visa are allotted to my country.my cn is af2015***73k.do i stand a chance
May 4, 2015 at 18:28
No there is not 5000 visas allotted to your country, there are simply 5000 selectees.
Your number is in a risky range. All you can do is wait and see what happens in the next 3 VBs. Good luck!
May 2, 2015 at 10:16
Hi dear britsimon I will be current with cn about AS6900 in july?
May 2, 2015 at 18:34
I think not, but given the events in Nepal it is unclear what impact the quake will have on the VB movement.
April 28, 2015 at 18:11
hello cn61xxx I hoped my interviews when?
April 28, 2015 at 18:43
Maybe September.
May 1, 2015 at 09:12
thanks Brit i got my 2NL for june interview but today i receive some email from the embassy here in Adiss Ababa that says Mandatory registration for all diversity visa (DV) applicants This is regarding your immigrant visa application for diversity visa (DV). Appointment letters have already been sent to applicants scheduled to be interviewed in June 2015. These applicants are required to complete their appointment registration at usvisa-info.com PRIOR to their scheduled appointment dates.i thought they are hackers what do u say?
May 1, 2015 at 14:08
No – that is the standard procedure now.
April 26, 2015 at 16:47
Hey Brit what about AF55*** INTERVIEWS?
April 26, 2015 at 18:33
September
April 26, 2015 at 16:32
Hi Brit? congratulations for the good work you are doing. Please do you think AF52*** will become current? If yes when could that be because the visa bulletin is very slow this year compared to the previous years.THANKS and hope to hear from you soonest
April 26, 2015 at 18:33
I consider than number certain. Probably September interview.
April 21, 2015 at 00:51
Sir ,how is the density in ASIA CNs .. like how many visas per 1000 (Currently AND After Nepal’s limited) ?
April 21, 2015 at 00:53
Other questions if i may !!
-How many visas were given to ASIA since the very beggining ?
-How many visas does Asia take of the yearly 50 000 visas ?
Thank you !
April 21, 2015 at 04:58
The issued visas are shown in the CEAC data – latest version here – https://britsimonsays.com/ceac-data-extract-april-16/
AS will get up to 8500 visas in total.
April 21, 2015 at 06:19
Thank you mr BritSimon
It shows in the post 3318 visas were issued .. but that’s not the same number as ‘Family Members” (7804) .. do they not count the family members in the total 8500 visas ?!
April 21, 2015 at 14:43
Family members (7804) is the number of people scheduled for interview. It does NOT mean they all got issued. The issued number is the number of visas given out thus far toward the quota which is around 8500.
Derivatives are counted from the 8500 and are in the 3318.
April 21, 2015 at 04:57
I will describe that in more detail in a future post.
April 20, 2015 at 16:15
Hi Simon,
When you think the 2nls for June will be out and when you will share the new CEAC data after that?
I think the picture will be more clearer then re the final response rate.
April 20, 2015 at 16:25
THe 2NLs will be out within the next week. Depending on timing I will work on my predictions then and publish within a day or two. I agree we will know more, but we won’t have the FINAL response rate – just a bit more of a clearer picture of what we might see….
April 20, 2015 at 17:37
On the other hand, I might be wrong, but I have a feeling that the backlog has mostly been cleared..
April 20, 2015 at 17:53
Yes – that is largely true – but it varies by country and region and won’t be entirely cleared until the last VB.
April 20, 2015 at 15:56
Simon, our son has been granted a J1 Visa & heads to US to work for the summer in a few weeks & will return to complete his University degree in Sept. He was named on my wife’s DV2013 application as he was 19yrs old at the time. Must he attend for his Medical & Interview with us or can he do it at a later date upon his return, or can he request his Medical & Interview to be conducted at his local Embassy while in the US please? Thank you
April 20, 2015 at 16:23
There is a procedure for him to interview in the USA – however, if your interview is going to be in August or September I would absolutely not want to risk that – NO DV visas can be granted after the end of September. . What is your case number/Region?
April 20, 2015 at 16:48
Our Case Ref is EU342XX, Thanks
April 20, 2015 at 17:52
So then your interview should be scheduled in July, and you should take the simplest route – i.e. your son should return for the interview during the summer regardless of the job he has planned to take. A Green Card is a lifetime opportunity, it does not compare to a summer job – and by the way – he could then take on studies as a resident which could have cost savings.
April 20, 2015 at 09:29
Could the AF region response rate go till 70 %?? and if it does, could you tell me (predict) the final cut off for Africa?please
April 20, 2015 at 14:40
No I don’t think that would happen.
April 20, 2015 at 09:18
hello Brit…
With this new Visa bulletin and all updates about the response rate; what do you think about my cn AF57XXX??am i safe or is it risky? Thank you in advance
April 20, 2015 at 14:40
Safe.
April 20, 2015 at 07:44
Af648** any hopes and how soon?
April 20, 2015 at 14:39
Still some chance yes – IF you get current, it will be for interview in September.
April 19, 2015 at 18:41
Hi Simon,
IF you were a gamblingman, which of the following would you bet upon for EU39100?
A: August interview
B: September Interview
C: No Interview (CN too high)
Thank You,
Mike
April 19, 2015 at 19:12
This has made my day LOL 😀
April 19, 2015 at 23:59
A.
April 20, 2015 at 05:45
This was an innovative way of asking about CN chance:).
Actually, all people with high CN are very nervous especially these last remaining months of the VB.
Simon, which of the A,B,C options would you choose for EU39600.
Thanks a lot for your good work and continuous support!
April 20, 2015 at 14:38
A very slightly less confident A.
April 20, 2015 at 16:46
What’s about AS 11,53X . ?!
Thanks en advance.
April 20, 2015 at 17:48
some risk – your chance depends on how many Iranian AP cases get approved quickly.
April 21, 2015 at 00:26
i’have just read that u seid in ur articles , and some comments tht number is almost safe, and the final cut off well be between 10k-12k !!
April 21, 2015 at 00:32
THe numbers have to be considered by region. AF, EU, AS all have different number ranges.
April 21, 2015 at 00:39
I’m totally aware of that .. I obviously meant AS , .
Asia is what concerns me .. I was born in Japan , and live in Morocco
April 21, 2015 at 04:56
So do you have a question?
April 19, 2015 at 12:07
Hello. My CN is AF598XX, it’s possible to get 2NL ?
April 19, 2015 at 14:44
Yes.
April 18, 2015 at 07:07
Sir how many visa were issued till now for Nepal???? My cn 75** is there any chances????
April 18, 2015 at 15:26
2003. You have an excellent chance.
April 18, 2015 at 05:52
no work for goverment or military, I’m industrial engineer( planning and project management) in a private ltd company in water industry
April 18, 2015 at 06:35
Good – you stand a good chance of avoiding AP.
April 18, 2015 at 06:41
Thank you sir for your prompt response
April 18, 2015 at 04:43
Hi Mr Simon
thanks for your awesome work!
I was wondering if I still have a good chance to be interviewed with CN As80xx from Iran
April 18, 2015 at 05:29
Yes you WILL get interviewed – but it will be late so you must avoid AP.
April 18, 2015 at 05:35
great! I hope I Will avoid AP , since I’m single 29 engineer with enough cash in bank acount
that will probably do, what do you think ?
April 18, 2015 at 05:47
Have you worked for the Iranian government or military? What sort of engineer? Energy?
April 17, 2015 at 15:08
Hi Simon,
Appreciate your understanding on the following please.
1) Will the holder of a EU number living in N.Ireland automatically be processed via the London Embassy or is there a chance that it could be via Dublin Embassy given it is technically on the same island and easier & less expensive to get too please?
2) If the processing needs to be via London, would a Medical need to be completed in London or would be acceptable for the Medical to be conducted by the Physician recognised by the US Embassy in Dublin be sufficient?
Just trying to avoid double peak season flight costs, if possible.
Thank you
April 17, 2015 at 20:22
1. Dublin do DV visa interviews, so if you gave an address near there that is where you will be scheduled.
2. N/A
April 20, 2015 at 15:45
Appreciate Dublin do DV Visa interviews, but our home address is in Northern Ireland which is technically part of the UK & different EU jurisdiction, so would you be of the dame opinion or not please?
April 20, 2015 at 16:20
The interviews are normally scheduled at the nearest embassy and Dublin is normally easier for NI. Call KCC to confirm that will be your choice.
April 21, 2015 at 16:27
Thank you for your reply.
KCC have us linked to the London Embassy as I write.
Given our number is 342XX which Is likely to be a July interview, do we face any risk or not if we ask KCC to change it to Dublin Embassy at this stage please?
April 21, 2015 at 17:43
You can ask for a change – do it ASAP!
April 21, 2015 at 19:43
Thanks for that, but will changing our Embassy choice to Dublin have any negative effect at this point, ie will it put us to the bottom of the list for processing in Dublin?
April 21, 2015 at 21:56
If you wait until your case is scheduled then yes “rescheduling” is a bad idea (because the case is passed from one embassy to another and they fit you in when it suits them).
However at the moment your case is with KCC – so no embassy even knows you are alive. So – if KCC update their record with your choice of interview location, it will be scheduled as normal with your chosen embassy with no impact/delay in timeline.
April 24, 2015 at 08:32
Thank you very much for all the superb advice, really appreciated. We are now all good for preferred Embassy.
April 24, 2015 at 11:10
Awesome!
April 17, 2015 at 13:13
Hello. what do you think for this number AF59XXX ?
April 17, 2015 at 20:33
I love that number.
April 17, 2015 at 12:45
Hi Simon, hope you are well. How up to date does a ds260 have to be? In other words since I submitted the ds260 in may last year I have moved country? Should I update it? Or is it fair to say in an interview situation that it was the most up to date info I had at the time of submiting? I obviously will have to provide police clearance from the new country but does the ds260 need updating? Thanks
April 16, 2015 at 21:10
Hi Brit,
My daughter’s passport has expired and I changed it. My number is for egypt AF 28xxx. I still have some chances for August or September interview as per your predictions .
Now my question is, do I need to call KCC to amend the DS 260 with the new passport or wait for the interview day.
Second question , is there any issue if my passport will expire in November ( 3 month after my interview ) . Do they require the passport validity more than 6. Month for example
Thanks for your help in advance
April 16, 2015 at 21:39
Take the old and new passports to the interview. You don’t need to update the DS260.
In your case I would suggest renewing the passport and again, take both new and old to the interview.
April 17, 2015 at 07:30

April 16, 2015 at 16:51

April 16, 2015 at 15:12
Hello Mr. Simon,
I am surprised and worried about South America numbers, I have SA 11XX. What do you think, still a chance?
Thank you,
April 16, 2015 at 16:44
You can consider that number safe to get current. If there are no issues at your embassy you should be fine – no need to worry.
April 16, 2015 at 06:56
What do you think about EU425XX ?
April 16, 2015 at 00:58
Helo sir, is there a chance of 2NL for cn AS84xx (Nepal)???
April 16, 2015 at 01:07
It is risky John – this will help understand – https://britsimonsays.com/update-regarding-nepal-and-asia/
