The new Visa Bulletin has been released. This one is for interviews in July, and it now makes all regions AND COUNTRIES current. To be clear, this is about DV2021, it is NOT about DV2022 numbers.
However, as I have already explained, that is purely an indication of how “broken” the system is at the moment. KCC has reported that there are not enough “ready for scheduling” cases to use the remaining visas. That is only true because KCC have not processed enough documents, it is not a true reflection of the actual demand.
Now, far more critical is the pace of scheduling. Again that is bad. As I pointed out in my video a few days ago, there is no sign that KCC is planning to schedule a high volume of cases overf the remaining months, and in fact, they are instead showing the opposite behavior. They are still very very low on interviews, around 40 embassies are yet to even accept their first DV case, and the DoS has announced that DV cases are a very low priority in a capacity limited system. All very serious, and not the news you would want to hear.
Please consider the situation seriously. There is significant risk to all cases right now. I discussed this a few days ago and you can read/hear more on my thoughts about joining a lawsuit here.

hi Mr case number 2021AF44XX, still awaiting my second letter.
Kcc when to notify me of then March 18 this message …
Thank you for your request.
Your file number is now up to date for the processing of interviews. Once the interview date is scheduled, you will receive an email notification to check https://dvprogram.state.gov. If you need to make any changes to your DS-260, you should contact the consular section where you will be interviewed, or bring the information about your changes to your interview appointment. Since your case is ready to be scheduled, KCC can no longer unlock your app.

Dear Brit,
My Police certificate is for two months ago. Can I use that police certificate and send it to KCC and explain that in case of appointment scheduling, I will provide an up-to-date version?
Would it be fine?
Regards,

Hi Simon
My CN is 2021AF12k. Do you think I will get second letter? Or should I join lawsuit? Thank you
May 20, 2021 at 20:31
Did you check the linked article above?
May 20, 2021 at 10:59
@BritSimonSays 2021As26xxx. Please advice on a mistake in DV260. Mistakenly I filled in my husbands application as spouse is working in military but I am not. But he is working in military. I have sent documents with my hubby’s military records. What will happen. Thanks sir.
May 20, 2021 at 20:35
Well your case number is high, so it is unlikely you will get an interview. However, if you do, this mistake is not a problem.
May 21, 2021 at 03:12
Thank you very much dear sir
May 20, 2021 at 19:23
Hi Brit ,my case is 2021AF359xx I wish to know what case number KCC has reach in documents processing and is my case number to high to get to the interview? Thanks your while waiting for ur response
May 21, 2021 at 02:52
So far the highest case number scheduled in AF region is under 19000.
May 20, 2021 at 20:48
Hi BritSimon,
Greetings from Obamaland, hope you are keeping well and safe.
Just to update you on an interesting observation & to seek your Expert opinion & analysis.
Today I talked to a fellow Kenyan DV2021 Selectee who got his 2NL on 18th May and his interview will be on 18th June in US Embassy Nairobi-Kenya. His CN is AF52XX.
Apparently, I got my email for document qualified & “Ready for Interview Scheduling” before him in October 2020 and my CN is LOWER than his i.e. AF46XX….
From this Factual Example, looks like KCC are not following Case Numbers to Schedule Interviews as they would like us to believe.
That’s Bcoz up till now I am yet to receive my 2NL + My fellow DV2021 Selectees in KENYA with CNs LOWER than our friend who already got his 2NL ( gladly so) yet his Case number AF52XX is Higher than Ours that Range from AF46XX to AF49XX.
Kindly give us your take on this issue, I’ll highly appreciate to hear from you.
With Kind Regards
Sueshi
May 21, 2021 at 00:22
@Sueshi..also in same situation OC region. Received ready to schedule mail last year. This year received mail that kcc cannot unlock my case, however any changes can be done at interview.
Surprisingly, those cn higher than mine got there 2nls while mine is still at nvc.
May 21, 2021 at 00:49
Yes, same situation for mine as well, case numbers over 3000 got scheduled for interview at Suva Embassy and mid range case number like mine are told to wait by KCC. Looks KCC only priotising maximum 2 person per case in OC as I checked for few cases on CEAC from data extracted by Xarthius on his site. They need to be sued. I am a Goh plaintiff hoping for positive outcome in July.
June 3, 2021 at 19:42
Hi @Shaun 2021oc18xxx,
The situation is really bad at suva are they even scheduling any idea???…cz I know a friend that’s is schedule for an interview and yes 3000+ but stuck outside suva…but never the less any idea if they are scheduling….
June 5, 2021 at 14:28
They have a handful of cases scheduled now.
May 21, 2021 at 03:03
That is sort of normal. In normal times once cases re current, the case number order is not what determines scheduling order. BUT I have never managed to work out how they decide the order, and in an example such as you give, it is hard to understand their logic.
May 21, 2021 at 12:31
Good morning Britsimon,
Thank you soo much Kind Sir for your response, you’ve given me clarity on the issue.
While on this subject, do you suppose that, since KCC have already sent a 2NL to a Kenyan for the June 18th Interview in the CN range of AF52XX, it means that they are in the process of Scheduling Case Numbers that are in between the last Case Number for May which was about AF36XX and the AF52XX or there about?? And do you suppose the Case numbers in between would be the ones to be scheduled for Late June and July Interviews??? (An trying to get the logic of KCC, if there is any)
Kindly comment.
Also, kindly Help me understand the HEADINGS of the columns in the DV2021 CEAC Data List of 2NLs released. On the Excel sheet,
1) Does the title “submitDate” stand for the date when the DV-Selectee Summited their Supporting Documents to KCC??
2) And what exactly does the title “statusDate” stand for???
With Kind Regards
Sueshi.
May 22, 2021 at 00:20
Its really hard to guess what will happen next – I think we should just wait and see.
1. Submit date is the day the person entered the lottery.
2. The last time the file was “opened” by the consulate. It doesn’t signify anything in particular.
May 20, 2021 at 21:53
Hi Brit,
Thank you for this update. My mother has won DV2021 no 2021EU250xx and is considering to join the lawsuit.
But I am wondering if she should consider perusing DV as she is 60 years old, retiring later this year.
Is age a factor of visa denying on DV cases?
May 21, 2021 at 03:09
No age limit. It’s not about denial, it’s a matter of how she will survive financially and so on.
May 21, 2021 at 01:32
What about. 2021EU32**, need register for lawsuits or need hold my interview in july, 3 month left with out my case. What i can do I don’t now.
May 21, 2021 at 03:22
If you don’t have an interview scheduled you are at risk. So – consider the lawsuit.
May 21, 2021 at 04:34

May 22, 2021 at 14:26
Some chance, not very much at all. The lawsuits might help – and you should submit your documents.
May 21, 2021 at 04:49
Hi BritSimon,
Thanks a lot for putting this stuff together. I know this is for DV2021 and not DV2022, but wanted to get your thoughts on whether the same issues we’ll see the same issues for DV2022 around this time next year. Say my case number is EU21XXX, what is your best guess about my chances of getting an interview?
May 22, 2021 at 00:01
I don’t know for sure whether the problems from Covid will continue. I think that is likely. It’s too soon to know much about DV2022 cases, but your number is not crazy high.
May 27, 2021 at 21:09
Hi Brit, can i ask you what about the case number 2022AF105xx is high?
May 28, 2021 at 02:47
No
May 21, 2021 at 08:07

Have you asked them about the number of their family? update here if you find anything new
May 21, 2021 at 20:11
Dear Mr brit,
Thanks so much for the update, my concern has to do with KCC, since the submission of my Ds26 form to KCC and I was told they will process my document with in six weeks time and after all they will notify me of the qualifications of my document through my email but there has been nothing like that. What can I do about that?
May 22, 2021 at 01:36
I have been saying for months that people should send their documents whether or not they have been asked. It is possibly too late now, but you can try.

Hello,
I am doing AOS (currently in the US) , I am a bit confused; is the lawsuit also dealing with people in my situation ? (high case number that just got current so I am not very optimistic)
Thank you so much for all the information provided so far!
May 22, 2021 at 01:45
No it doesn’t apply to AOS – you have no problem. You can submit the I485 now, and there is plenty of time.
May 22, 2021 at 13:47
Hi Brit, my case number is 35k can I send my documents now

Yes

Dear Brit,
Any news for DV2020 winners? When can we know the final outcome for Gomez v. Trump?
Thank you in advance.
May 23, 2021 at 19:11
No news yet. We don’t have a final date set.
May 23, 2021 at 20:39
Hi Brit,
My case # is 2021AF8k. My case has been current and I have received the “ready for scheduling” email since January. But I have not received my 2NL. I saw something on the CEAC data statistics for DV 2021 site that the US embassy in Monrovia, Liberia is processing all cases (NIV, IV, etc.) now. Is there any possibility that I will get my 2NL this month?
May 25, 2021 at 01:54
All you can do is wait and see.
May 24, 2021 at 16:15
hi brit, first thanks for your work and support, I have one more question, I wrote a letter to the embassy (I am v2021 / EU5553) about the interview schedule, they answered me to contact KCC. Our us embassy started interviews 2 month ago, but in June 2nl there were not even single applicant from us.
As I see it, the KCC only needs to go through all these 4 supporting documents and send them to the embassy, right?
I have searched on the internet but didn’t find anything about the document reviewing procedure (including in your blog / FAQ), maybe you know more about this? maybe they need approval about applicants, from intelligence services and waiting for it, especially after Boston marathon incident, or something like that, that can slow down process? but anyway i think they very work very slow. If you have written or know an article on the KCC review process, please share it with us.
Thanks
May 25, 2021 at 05:38
Their screening procedures are not published.
May 24, 2021 at 20:58
Morning Brit,
Just a question am OC region and have received my 2nls date of interview in May however since the growth of covid19 cases here in fiji they have postponed all interviews until further notice do you think we should also join the lawsuit or just wait.
thanks
May 25, 2021 at 05:45
Lawsuit.
May 25, 2021 at 15:36
Hi Brit and everyone else. Just wanted to pitch in and say that _just yesterday_ we got our scheduling email for the Madrid embassy. So that one seems to be working. Not sure if you are keeping track of these somewhere else but hope it helps other people!
PS our number is pretty low at <300.

May 27, 2021 at 08:50
hi Mr Brit I have received this email since March 18 after hearing about my file at Kcc .case number 2021AF44xx ready for planning since September of last year. My country’s embassy interviewed in April.
Thank you for your inquiry.
Your case number is now current for interview processing. Once the interview date has been scheduled, you will receive notification via email to check https://dvprogram.state.gov. If you need to make changes to your DS-260 you should contact the consular section where you will be interviewed, or bring the information about your changes to your interview appointment. Because your case is ready to be scheduled, KCC can no longer unlock your application.
I want your advise.Thanks
May 28, 2021 at 02:31
The response means they are trying to schedule your case – but it’s a matter of how much capacity they have at that embassy.

Hi Brit! A new subscriber here from Cambodia. I know it is too early to ask, but is 2022AS14K considered high? At this point, I just want to hear your thoughts only. Thank you.
May 28, 2021 at 20:10
It is too early to make assumptions based on the number alone.
May 28, 2021 at 12:11
Got my interview date scheduled for early July! I’m OC18XX and interviewing in Tokyo, couldn’t believe it when I got the update email! I was expecting to be waiting until September or miss out completely. Let’s just hope the Olympics don’t cause any drama that closes the embassy…

Dear Sir,
JJust now I joined to the lawsuit as you instructed. And I have submitted my documents to the KCCDOC on 02nd May. Mycase No is 2021AS26572. So I wanted to ask two clarifications from you?
1. Have I done the correct think by joining to the Lawsuit with my too high case number?
2. Have I delayed to submit my documents?
Thank you sir.
Good luck sir. I really appreciated the tireless work you are doing on behalf of all of us to get our dreams true. Without you we we don’t have anyone to get instructions and guidance. Wish you a good health and long life from bottom of my heart.

Hi Simon,
How are you doing!
This being Memorial holiday weekend in US, are there chances of KCC sending 2NLs for the remaining days of May.
Thanks.
May 29, 2021 at 06:56
I sent my documents in march.
I sent two emails to [email protected] if my documents still under process they reply first email its under process, after 2 weeks today I received this reply for my 2nd email :
Thank you for your inquiry.
Your DS-260 has been processed. You should have received, or will soon receive, an email from the Kentucky Consular Center giving you instructions to complete in order for your case to continue processing. Please follow the instructions in the email. Interviews are scheduled numerically based on case numbers that have completed processing. Please refer to the visa bulletin at travel.state.gov to locate the current numbers being processed. This bulletin is updated after the 15th day of each month. Once an interview date has been scheduled, you will receive notification via email to check dvprogram.state.gov.
So that meaning now every thing is fine and ready to interview or still that meaning nothing?
Case number : AS179xx in UAE-Abu dhab

Hello brit,
Thank you for your precious help.
As i have my interview next month and to show a proof of financial capacity i would like to
open an account in my name and put 10,000 dollars into it.
Please, i would like to know if the money can remain blocked in my country in Cameroon or if it is absolutely necessary that I block the money in an account in the USA.
May 30, 2021 at 19:57
You are not required to have money in a USA account.
June 1, 2021 at 04:06
Thanks a lot Sir.
June 2, 2021 at 16:41
Pls what is your case number? Am also from Cameroon and haven’t received any interview notification letter.
May 29, 2021 at 17:31
I have a great question. I signed up for the DV program with a daughter. As a winner I got the DS 260 as the main applicant and my daughter as a derivative. I finished filling out my DS260 and sent it, in this I made it clear that I was not emigrating with me (Daughter). Then I unlocked it to add another child who was born in November 2020 and I also said that I would not emigrate with me. The question is whether, even after making it clear that they won’t be traveling, do I have to fill out a DS 260 for them? In the case of my daughter who was on my original DV entry, her DS comes out incomplete because I did not fill it out because I assumed that since she would not immigrate with me she was not applying for a DV visa. In the future, after obtaining my residency, I would like to bring my children and my partner to the USA (after getting married) through the FAMILY REUNIFICATION program. Can I do this like this?
May 30, 2021 at 20:03
You can do that. Don’t complete a DS260 for anyone NOT processing the GC through DV.
May 29, 2021 at 21:02
hello dear simon how are you doing. the Afghanistan dv 2021 winners have not received appointment. in your view if my friend transfers his interview location to us embassay in Pakistan Islamabad .so is that possible to change the location. my friend is dv 2021 winner he is so worried please advice me what he does now
May 30, 2021 at 20:50
Most embassies are refusing interviews for non residents, but you can of course try.
May 31, 2021 at 12:16
Hello Mr. Simon thanks very much for guiding us through this lengthy process…… Please I wanted to know if I have joined the lawfirm correctly cos after going through their process, they just sent me an email showing a form I’ve filled. I just wanted to know. Thanks an I will want to see your reply
June 3, 2021 at 04:23
You should ask the them, not me.
May 31, 2021 at 21:17
Hello Brit! Thanks for all your help and continued explanation in every step of the DV lottery. I really appreciate all you are doing and taking the time to answer questions.
Going on to my case, I am a 2021 DV winner, EU 57XX and Documentary Qualified since October 2020. I have a relatively small number and have the advantage that my documents were processed and accepted a long time ago.
However the embassy here (Albania) is moving with a really slow pace, April – June there were only 20 interviews scheduled for DV and the max case number scheduled was around 1300.
I think I already missed the deadline to take part in any lawsuit but since I am DQ and the embassy is working although slowly I am still kinda optimistic that I might get an interview date.
Anyway my questions are:
1. Is there any way to know what case numbers were selected for a specific country (not region)? I want to see how many cases there are between 1300 – 6000 in my country only so I can kinda predict if I will get an interview…
2. I know that the interview dates are sent almost every 1st and 15th of a given month in two batches, however some people have got their 2NL between these dates. Does that depend on the KCC workflow or is it specific to the country/embassy responsible for ‘requesting’ interviews?
3. Is it true that by July the embassies are picking up the backlog and going to process more interviews? Someone said to me a few days ago that there will be more cases scheduled during summertime but it sounds too good to be true.
Thank you again for your hard work and hopefully we hear some good news in the upcoming weeks for all DV winners!
June 3, 2021 at 04:35
1. No, and even if you could, that sort of logic would not help you predict.
2. The two batches thing is not applicable at the moment. They are working embassy by embassy.
3. No it’s not true.

i have my interview schduled couple of weeks from now, and i made a translation mistake in the ds260 in the army about the rank i released writing one rank higher because of trnslation issue, it is minor in terms of army or anything in life has no impact or meaning, but i can’t stop thinking about it.
also jobs that worked in the past of no longer than couple of months(less than 6 months) that i cannot remember names or were, is the above ok? (of course evrything in ds260 is 100% accurate!) I’m asking all of the above because it is very important to. me not to leave a single room for error and i have a small doubt about it. thank you! p.s, brit, do you provide private cosultant service? (paid/supportbased, for people who would like to speak privately)

1. Doesn’t matter.
2. Just do the best you can.
There is generally no need for any private consultation.

Great Thanks Simon. Based on your information I registered to be a part of the lawsuit. But are those cases, face and made the KCC delay their work, enough to extend the DV2021 process beyond its expiration date; September 30, 2021?

I don’t know what the outcome of the lawsuits will be.
