2NLs are starting to be sent for October interviews (DV2019).
Some people previously got 2NL emails but then had to wait days or even a couple of weeks before the interview letter showed on the ESC page. Other people waited until the beginning of the following month to get their 2NLs and ESC page update. So – be patient, stay calm. Some physicians won’t schedule the medicals unless you have the 2NL in hand, BUT these interviews are for September, so there is plenty of time.
The email itself has no useful information. It simply tells you to check the ESC site for the interview details. Some people that receive the email will find the ESC site is not ready, those people should try again after a few hours. Also, some people find the email itself goes to a trash or spam folder or somehow miss it. So – if you think you may have been scheduled but missed your email, you can check the ESC site, just in case. The 1NL (you have been selected letter) is replaced by a new letter which gives the appointment details.
*** please for our willing scrapers – let’s continue scraping for DV2018 data – we are still needing to see the progress over the final few weeks to better understand who can get a visa and who might be left out***

Hi, I am Richard, I won DV 2019, but I learnt the educational requirement in Ghana is now Credit as minimum. I have pass in Mathematics which based on my research shows I may not receive the visa. I wrote Entrance examination and got admission into the university to read BSC Mathematics. Can I use the admission to convince them to get the visa since Its Mathematics I got the Admission on….Thanks.
September 17, 2018 at 19:24
I don’t really know the specific requirements by country, but in general if you don’t meet the HS standard, they will often deny you – especially in Ghana.
September 19, 2018 at 12:55
Richard hope you are doing good. I am also a Ghanaian which level are your presently at the University.

Dear Brit
1. me and my husband married according to church rules in 2014 and we have church certificate and we have two boys but now we wanted to add civil statues division of municipality and already made a power of attorney in our country and they send us the certificate but I found out an error in my details in my birth place different from that we mentioned in ds260 in stead they wrote my place of origin which is different. So can we change it or it is not a big deal. My husband is principal applicant.
2. Our sponsor is our friend we chose him coz my husbands cousen had some problem on his GC but now he told us you can do it in my side if you want. Can we take his ID photo and his other documents instead of unlocking and changing our friend. Because if we got the chance to go USA we are going to reside with my husbands cousen.

September 11, 2018 at 16:15
At what stage??
September 10, 2018 at 18:33
Hi Simon,
I am expecting to be seen for a November interview for Oceania. I however updated my DS-260 changing the address of my interview a month ago so am possibly expecting a delay to December. When the VB is released in the next few days will the number I see there matter? i.e. it could be inclusive of my number but I won’t know until the 2NL?
Thank you!
September 10, 2018 at 18:57
It probably won’t cause delay – but wait and see.
September 10, 2018 at 14:46

Dear BritSimon,
Thank you for your valuable help and information.
My question is :
My Case No. 2019EU13xxx
DS 260 submitted on June .
1. after I submitted DS260 I changed company from Samsung Key Account Manager to Apple EU Business Development Manager – Do I have to unlock DS260 to update working experience.
2.Civilian Documents such us Birth Certificate, Police Certificate , Court Certificate ect. that got all are with June date so when Interview will be should I change or I can present these ones ( because it will be older I guess). Or do I need to take all above mentioned with New Date .
3.I have Affidavit of Support I-134 with 300K yearly income ( is that will be additional support for my case or no need to present it).
4. I have some saving more than 50K do I need to present my Bank Statement to CO to support my case or that is not necessary .
I thank you in Advance for feedback.
br,
Berto
September 10, 2018 at 13:48

2. Those will be OK.
3. Take the I-134

Hi Brit,
I’m a 2018DV winner.
My brother travel to America 2014 on DV it is good for him to send me affidavit of support with annual income for last year 2017 $32,570 and he is married with a kid.
Secondly he didn’t include his wife information on the document he sent me.
What’s your advice please.
September 4, 2018 at 23:39
Read the FAQ about I-134 to see if the income is enough.
September 3, 2018 at 07:38
Hi Simon,
Sorry for asking a question different from the topic.
i DV02 winner 2018 during our family interview, the consulate issued the visa for my wife and children and returned my passport during the interview and asked me for a supplemental questionnaire. i have sent all the required since 30 july with supported documents .i haven’t header from the embassy since that time. our case is showing issued except me is showing ready since the interview while some other cases like ours showing AP. is this normal? also have you ever seen in dv program a family getting a visa without their spouse?
Thank you..
Regards
Adel
September 3, 2018 at 14:40
Yes this is “normal”, they sometimes need to perform additional checks, and yes, it is possible to have a family issued without one derivative. All you can do is wait. If your case is not approved by September 30th, then you will not be approved.
September 3, 2018 at 18:23
Thanks Simon

Hello Brit
I want to know we didn’t receive 2NLis that b/we we are not going to be interviewed. I read many times but I couldn’t understand what current mean so that I don’t know whether I’m current or not and second question is who are those received 2NL are they the cases to be interviewed only on October or the following months also. Pls put in consideration I am tigrigna speaker so that .Weak in comprehension long articles in english . we are Af19###
We filled ds260 on 4/8/2018 almost month.
Regards
September 1, 2018 at 12:39
Hello Lulu;
1.Based on your case number, you are not yet current so be patient and read the FAQ there are a lot of useful information.
2. 2NLs are for those who are”current”. i.e those who are going to have their interview next month(October interview).
3. In short; being current means your case number is below the cut off number in the current visa bulletin.
As I stated above; better to read the faq and some other articles to know more about the dv process, terminologies etc etc
Good lucky.
September 1, 2018 at 16:04
Thanks
September 1, 2018 at 15:27
Cases are scheduled for interview in an order to do with the case number. Your number is probably going to mean an interview in early 2019.
September 1, 2018 at 16:05
Thanks as usual Brit.

Hi Mr. Simon
My CN is 2019AF26***
I recently unlocked my DS 260 Form for a second time.
1. Does unlocking for second time create problems?
2. is it too late to submit the Ds 260 form at this time?
September 1, 2018 at 05:59
1. No
2. No
September 1, 2018 at 10:44
Thanks a lot!
September 1, 2018 at 01:04
Hi Brit,
In your post you mentioned it might be a good idea to check on the ESC site. When I logged in it made me use the first confirmation number – wouldn’t accept the new case number so it simply generated my original letter. Does that mean I am still at that stage where I am yet to have been offered an interview? I didnt want to miss it in junk mail or something as you said. I am OC3** so have a low case number.
September 1, 2018 at 01:05
Also, not sure why my avatar is a picture of me getting hit with ketchup…
September 1, 2018 at 05:56
LOL – well – if it is your picture, it must be from your hotmail account.
September 1, 2018 at 05:55
You are not yet current.
https://britsimonsays.com/dv2019-basic-questions/
September 1, 2018 at 10:47
Thank you!
Unrelated note (sort of). You previously mentioned that if I unlock my 260 and delay resubmitting it, it might buy me some extra time (I submitted it early before I thought the timeframe through). If I do unlock it, then hold off resubmitting it for a few months, will I lose the data I have already input into the form or does it keep all the info there and just allow for changes? It took me so long to fill out the bloody form I don’t want to do it again but I want to try and delay my interview till next year if possible! Long story why – relates mainly to leave entitlements at current job. I wish I read more on your page before I submitted the 260! Thanks so much for the info and I totally understand if you don’t know the answer. It’s a bit of a weird situation.
September 1, 2018 at 10:59
Oh also I noticed some people saying they tried to log in and got the message that their case number doesn’t exist. That’s what happened to me too! I was only able to log in and look at the original offer letter. Nothing worked using my case number that was generated after being initially accepted. Sounds like I’m not the only one though.
September 1, 2018 at 15:35
Yep – others have the same problem.
September 1, 2018 at 15:34
Well, you asked me in May, and at that time the answer was “probably not”. If you didn’t unlock then, the and now is even less likely. Your form will have been processed, so you will be scheduled. You can email KCC and ask for a delay – but you need to do that ASAP!
https://britsimonsays.com/ask-questions/comment-page-235/#comment-118918
September 1, 2018 at 19:32
Thanks heaps! I’ll see how I go
September 2, 2018 at 09:23
Oh, also, do you think I should specify a timeframe that I’d like the delay to be if possible? Or is that a bit cheeky? Is it perhaps best to request delay to “early 2019” rather than something specific like “delay processing till February” or something?
Sorry to ask! I don’t want to be one of those people who irritate you!
September 2, 2018 at 15:15
Be specific.
September 4, 2018 at 19:52
Hey Brit,
They emailed back saying they can put a hold on my case “to prevent scheduling” to a date I specify but said I need to be careful that visas haven’t run out. Do you think I’d be safe to delay till Jan 31st or Feb 1st or would you say just delay to Jan 1st to be safe?
Thanks again
🙂
September 4, 2018 at 20:58
There is no problem delaying until Feb/March even. Visas will not run out that early – because the process is spread over the whole year.
September 4, 2018 at 22:33
Thanks so much Brit!!

August 31, 2018 at 08:08
Hello Brit,
My question are,
1. Is I134 necessary for all DV winner, i mean – is it a required document or just a supportive one ???
2. Can a sponsor who already sponsored a dv winner in 2017 can sponsor a winner for 2019? Is there any thing to worry?
August 31, 2018 at 14:35
1. For some embassies, and some cases it is a required document.
2. Better to use someone else.
September 10, 2018 at 06:01
Hi Brit
I submitted my DS260 late for dv2018 and they still haven’t called me for an interview as yet. Should I be worried? Have I missed it?. Help.
Thank you
September 10, 2018 at 13:35
You previously gave your exact case number. So I checked that number and found it was scheduled for an interview (4 people – right?). DSo – you missed your notification email. Check your ESC page and see when you were scheduled. If that by chance is not passed yet, then maybe you have a chance. If it has passed you could contact the embassy and ask them to reschedule the interview, but that would be risky because you have left this VERY late.
August 31, 2018 at 14:57
Sandeep Are you a sri lankan ? If you are a Sri Lankan. Please send me a email message to [email protected],cos I am selectee to 2019 form Sri Lanka..Thanks Brit
August 31, 2018 at 00:33
Hi Brit,
Received 2NL today, thanks for your guidance along this process.
In regards to the security background check, I’ve had a look at the FAQ’s etc and can’t seem to find the answer. How close to the interview date does your background check need to be dated from? For example, if your interview is scheduled for Mid-October when would be the ideal time to have the background check received by?
August 31, 2018 at 14:27
There is not a finite time. Just get the police cert a couple of weeks before the interview.
August 30, 2018 at 22:05
Thanks Brit for all your efforts in helping us to forfill our American dream,I have been reading very closely every instruction you give today is my first time to make comment and it is my experience also, I am 2018 winner of DV with a case number 2018AF365 this is my interview experience I won the Dv with my two children,my interview was on August 21 at 9:00am in monrovia I did over prepared all documents.
I arrived at the embassy with my children at 5:35 am and the security took us in after checking all of our documents by 7:00am we sat down for another 45minutes to paid $990.00USD for our fees after that we when back in our seats by 10:30am we were called for fingerprints the first question asked was can your read your high school certificate number and I did read after that we when back in our seats again by 12:30 we were asked to come to window 6 where we met a friendly American counselor.

August 31, 2018 at 09:10
Dear simon
My case is in additional administrative processing since the October 2017 . And now the Embassy asked me to bring another medical examination.
Is that mean my AP completed and I can get the visa?
August 31, 2018 at 14:38
Possibly. They don’t ask for another medical without reason – but until the visa is in your hand it is not certain.
September 7, 2018 at 00:36
Hi Sajjad.
Can I ask you witch consulate did you have your interview?
And are you Iranian?
Thanks

August 30, 2018 at 21:30

August 30, 2018 at 20:31
Hi Brit, my Name is Williams, I am glad to tell you that I’m in America today, thank you very much for your guidance,
My question is, I went to the embassy during my interview and told the officer that I do not have a kid/ kids due to fear of being denied because they were not part of my DS 260 from. Now I am in America and want to file in for them, what can I do sir? Your answer will highly be appreciated.
