No surprises for DV2019 cases – all current. It is now just a matter of making sure you get your interview in September.
2NLs for September interviews will be sent between the 15th and the end of the month. Interviews will ONLY be arranged for people that have submitted their DS260s and documents AND KCC have processed both of those things. So – I will say this again – if you are not CERTAIN that KCC are satisfied with your documents – ask them now.
Now – for DV2020 we finally have the selectee numbers. I will paste them below and start looking at the numbers to post some analysis later. But I can already say this – the high case numbers we have been seeing are NOT the concern of an massively overselected year. This is EXCELLENT news for DV2020 cases.

Hi Brit, this what I received from KCC concerning my case please help me out .”Thank you for your inquiry.
Your DS-260 and/or required documents were received too late to complete necessary processing for an interview. No further interviews will be scheduled, even if a case number has become current. Your case will not be scheduled for an interview in the DV 2019 program. There will be no further processing on your case and your case will not be unlocked. You may apply for future DV programs, though you will be given no preference based on your selection in the DV 2019 program.
Registration for the 2020 Diversity Visa program (DV-2020) is closed. Registration for the 2021 Diversity Visa program (DV-2021) will be available on the website (www.dvlottery.state.gov) in October 2019. The entry form will be available for submission during this period and this period only. The website at http://www.dvlottery.state.gov is the only way to register for DV-2021. Entries will NOT be accepted through the U.S. Postal Service.
In order for the Kentucky Consular Center to assist with inquiries regarding a specific Diversity Visa (DV) case, you must provide the Principal Applicant’s full name, complete case number, and date of birth in the following format (MMDDYYYY) as entered on the original entry. Please remember that the Kentucky Consular Center does not have the authority to tell you whether or not your specific case will be disqualified. Only a consular officer can do that at the time of your visa interview. Do not send any paper documents to the Kentucky Consular Center.

No one can help. The email is clear – you will not get an interview.
July 27, 2019 at 17:16
This is so frustrating Brit…………………..
July 27, 2019 at 18:32
Yes of course. I have been warning about this for MONTHS. I knew it would affect some people, and it certainly has.
July 26, 2019 at 11:05
Dear Brit,
After getting the visa and going to US, how long should we stay there before leaving it for the first time? I might need to come back to my home country alone for a couple of weeks two months after checking in US. Do you think that this leave might affect or delay the process of getting the green card for me or my family members (who won’t leave with me)?
July 27, 2019 at 03:32
You can leave anytime. Your presence does not affect the derivatives.
July 25, 2019 at 15:58
Dear Brit. I have already filled up DS 260. I wana ask if I can change the address which I put while filling DS 260.
July 27, 2019 at 02:53
You can unlock – yes.
July 19, 2019 at 14:14
Hi Simon,
We successfully passed our interview at end of May and feel so relieved to finally have the visa in our passports. It has been a hell of a ride, I will take the time later on to actually share our story. But right now we are preoccupied with the details of the activation trip. How are people working around not having a physical address for when they land in the US?
We are considering renting an apartment before landing, but we would strongly prefer to have the liberty of actually seeing and choosing the apartment in person as the rents are quite high in Atlanta. So instead of just renting first apartment that comes our way just for the sake of having an address for the delivery of the GC, we would prefer maybe to stay a few days in an AirBnB and take our time with doing some tours to find the perfect apartment. This of course leaves us uncovered for having an address for GC delivery.
How do you recommend us going around this? Is it allowed to use a friend’s address, since when picking the mail up we will still need to show an ID with an address that matches (otherwise anyone could pick it up, right)? How are people going around this limitation nowadays?
July 19, 2019 at 14:17
Yes a friend’s address is ideal.
July 18, 2019 at 20:18

Hi Brit, when is this 2nd half of the month pliz we r honning
July 16, 2019 at 12:50
The second half of the month lasts from the 16th to the end of the month. Please exercise some patience.
July 16, 2019 at 15:29
I just phoned KCC and they said that 2nl will NOT go out until the end of the month. This is because they will be switching from DV2019 to DV2020. The lady confirmed to me that they are now BUSY SCHEDULING for SEPTEMBER INTERVIEWS. So let us all relax, exercise some patience till maybe the end of the month or sooner, they are busy with it. Its been a stressful DV year, just two more weeks to go!
July 17, 2019 at 10:42
Zacost,
From Monday (15.07.2019) i have been trying to call KCC but to no avail, they are always telling me to call the following business day. i tried on Tuesday and today and i got the same response from them. But if that what they told you its good news and we are looking forward to it.
July 17, 2019 at 17:14
Why are you calling?? This is normal – and I have described this many times.
July 16, 2019 at 01:55
Hi Brit,
Can I change the address at the airport while I am delivering the envelope?
July 16, 2019 at 05:42
Yes
July 15, 2019 at 23:12
I think Brit said Egypt may have reached their 7% limit but not globally.
Why can’t we wait a little and see what happen from now to end of month instead of stressing out.
Remember Egypt has been treated separately from other AF countries.
Let wait n see
July 15, 2019 at 21:00
Hello Brit and all please i wish to know if the 2nl went out today and if any one who received the (record indicate that ds260 have been processed for you and your family and you have submitted all required doc…)Which is the ready for scheduling mail on June 14th has gotten their 2nl yet. Please respond am from Cameroon 2019AF46xxx.thank you

Thank you
July 16, 2019 at 00:29
Wait.
July 16, 2019 at 00:28
No. Calm down.
July 15, 2019 at 08:31
you earlier said that visas are not scheduled by country but by region, and if Cairo has hit its limit, will that will applicable to all African region?
July 16, 2019 at 00:27
This is not about scheduling – but about a country limit.
July 15, 2019 at 08:22
Dear Brit,
could this situation in Cairo be applicable to all in Africa? wao! Sierra Leone to be specific?
July 16, 2019 at 00:27
I do not believe so.
July 14, 2019 at 20:14
Hi Simon
Today a friend recieved email with below from embassy in Cairo
We regret to inform you that the 2019 Diversity Visa (DV) Program has reached its mandated numerical limit for DV applicants.
The Embassy cannot issue any more DV 2019 visas even for those who were initially selected and who previously interviewed for the visa and were waiting for administrative processing.
As noted in the diversity visa instruction packet which lottery selectees receive, more individuals are selected each year for diversity visas than can receive visas because many people who initially win the lottery do not eventually qualify. The DV program runs until September 30 or until all available DV numbers have been exhausted, whichever comes first. In this case, we reached our mandated numerical limit before the September 30, 2019 deadline.
Therefore, please do not send your passport to us even if you previously received notification that your administrative processing was complete. There currently are NO more available visas for DV applicants in Fiscal Year 2019, which ends in September 30, 2019
Please be assured that your Diversity Visa application was given every consideration under U.S. law. You may still apply for future DV programs. We sincerely regret any inconvenience this may cause
He was AP does that mean anything to people who didn’t receive 2L
July 14, 2019 at 21:33
I am shocked. If the letter is real, I suspect it can only apply to Egyptian cases, not globally. If true, that would mean that Egypt has hit the 7% limit, perhaps on a reduced basis considering the low number of visas that will be issued.
I suggest your friend contacts the embassy to see if this is real.
July 14, 2019 at 21:40
By the way – I think this would mean that people already scheduled would be OK (i.e. those in July and August), but I am NOT sure whether they will add any more interviews for September.
July 14, 2019 at 21:52
OK – I checked the data. There were almost 2500 visas issued in Cairo up to the beginning of the month. Another 500 people were scheduled for July and August interviews. Those cases would have been allocated a visa in advance, so they should be OK. The limit is probably only being imposed on those cases that are on AP from a previous month, since those would have lost their allocated visas. That represented about 45 people at the beginning of the month. As I mentioned it is not clear whether they will schedule any September interviews.
July 14, 2019 at 22:31
Even me am shocked if it is complete why they make the Visa bulletin current they can make cut off at least, am confused and worry
But we will see if they will start sending 2l from tomorrow on
July 14, 2019 at 13:25
Hi Brit, I am cn EU29xxx (Italy). based on the data, could I get to the interview? I sent the ds260 form in June, when could they send me the email for the documents? thank you!
July 14, 2019 at 15:14

July 14, 2019 at 15:27

July 14, 2019 at 15:37

You cannot include your girlfriend until you marry her.

July 11, 2019 at 19:44
Thank you Brit, is it possible to know how many visas will be given based on the country selectee?? Ex for Ethiopia from 1974 selectee??
July 11, 2019 at 20:52
There is no allocation per country. So no.
July 15, 2019 at 16:44
BUT SAY THAT NO COUNTRY WILL RECEIVE MORE THAN 7% QUOTA. WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?
July 16, 2019 at 00:47
Blessing. Chill out – You are obviously confused, and this doesn’t affect you so I would rather deal with people that are affected. RELAX!!!!
July 11, 2019 at 17:55
Hi Brit, the VB says this time its available 55k visas. do they eliminate NACARA?
July 11, 2019 at 21:01
No.
July 11, 2019 at 17:49
I do not quite get the table. Are these officially those who were issued for the year DV2019?. I want to understand the system
July 11, 2019 at 18:04
Eva, the table is those who were selected for the DV2020
July 11, 2019 at 17:43
Hello,
Thanks once more Brit.I don’t understand your new post concerning VB for August being release.I thought on the 13th of may you posted VB for August. I was expecting your new post to be the release of September VB …..Any rectification or explanation on that? Thanks.
July 11, 2019 at 21:02
It’s the august VB. It concerns September interviews and dv2019 numbers.
July 11, 2019 at 17:42
Hi Brit, thanks for the update. I’m 2020AF39XX. I submitted my DS 260 form 10th May 2019 but I’m yet to get a response. It’s more than 2 months now. Should I continue waiting or contact KCC for enquiry
July 11, 2019 at 21:03
Call KCC
July 11, 2019 at 17:33
Hi Brit, this time the VB says 55k PR visa available for DV-2020. Last time it was 50k. Do they dumped NACARA program?
July 11, 2019 at 21:03
No
July 11, 2019 at 17:23
Hi Brit,
Just want to appreciate your relentless effort to feed people u don’t even know them with such vital updates. God will continue to blessed you.my documents have been confirm already, but I have a very big problem; I traveled out of my town and on returning, thieft break into my house and do away with my brief case in which my original birth certificate was kept with some other documents. They carried the brief case away thinking I was keeping money inside and it was Lock with a key. I only thank God that the other Dv processing documents were just kept in a cupboard so,they scattered them but didn’t touch any. Only the birth certificate which was in this brief case was taking away.so my question is , what can I do at the level of the embassy knowing that I have already scan my birth certificate and Sent to Kcc,and documents confirmed.. I still have the scan copy I send to Kcc plus other photocopies and the original court declaration bearing the same information that was on the missing birth certificate. Hope your expertise will relief the situation. Thanks.
July 11, 2019 at 21:11
Get a replacement and document the reason that the other cert is not available.
July 12, 2019 at 19:24
Hello Brit,
Thanks for your prompt advice on how to go about my original lost birth cert. I really do appreciate it.like you said (Get a replacement and document the reason that the other cert is not available) I will be going to court with my father to declare the lost with the photocopies I have and obtain a new court declaration or judgement bearing the same content as the old one. This Will permit me to go to a competent authority in my local council area and established a new birth certificate. My questions go thus;
1.As an expert, will this court declaration or judgement be OK to document the reason why the old one is not available?
2.when going for the interview, can I go with the photocopy and scan copy of the old cert as supporting documents to the court declaration? All in a bit to justify why the old one is not available.

1. What makes you think I am an expert in legal procedures in your country?
2. Do what you think is best.
3. I don’t know.
You must understand that it is your case and you know local procedures better than I can… so use some judgement.

Hi Brit,
Many thanks for this info. Could you please elaborate and help us understand these selectee numbers. For ex: our number is AS11xxx (Nepal) does that mean we are inside these 3696 selectees for Nepal?
Thanks in advance,
Regards.

Hi Brit, wow, you gave us a relief for DV 2020. Can you elaborate on what this will mean in terms of expected interviews? For instance if I am 2020AS21xxx, do I have hope for interview?
Are these figures official?
What about banned countries? Like Iran which have more than 4000 selectees! Would their applications get processed and will have interviews?
By the way, why Nepal have this massive number of selectees?
Thanks and Regards

Yes, the Iranians get interviews as people from other countries but 99 % of them stay in administrative processing for a long time until September 30 and only a few of them get their visas.

I just saw the website this morning and was thrilled. I am a US citizen, but have a niece and her family who were selected for DV 2020 with high number (Egypt). I am thrilled for the news and that the totals selected was only about 83000 comparing to last year 87000. If there were enough visas for the DV 2019 (87K selctees) then I presume there should be enough for the DV 2020 83K persons. I am crossing fingers here!

Egypt will probably have a limit. How how is the number?
July 11, 2019 at 22:49
58000
July 11, 2019 at 22:50
But why you say it will have a limit? Why not like DV 2019?
July 12, 2019 at 05:55
That is a high number and Egypt have a high number of selectees. There is a limui on the visas that can be issued to any one country. So – Egypt may be limited because of that. You just have to wait and see.
